Shifting towards SATAN agenda
This was once a family app with learning. Now most of the fun songs and music videos are gone.
Instead of the loving episodes, now there is mostly Halloween and spooky programming.
As a Jew, we do not participate in evil “holydays”. It would be better to see the content without agendas.
The free Nick app has wayyy more episodes of blues clues in the current season. This app only has a christmas episode of season 2 blues clues and you but had at least 2 more that were removed without notice.
Bring actual education programs for preschoolers instead of a ton of empty content to push agendas. Most content on this app is way too fast for preschoolers. Blues clues and sometimes bubble guppies are actually the better parts of the app because it doesn’t so much negatively effect the attention span of the viewers.
Disorganized app
The way the app is laid out is for the most part completely random. You can click where it says different categories (play/read/etc…) but it still just shows you random assortments of content. There is no search function which makes absolutely no sense to me. Every time you click anywhere it just shows another screen full of randomized blocks of content. This app needs to be way more organized and functional.
The content itself is what you’d expect but the app layout makes it frustrating to use.
Also, there is no option to cast to a tv. I’d much rather my child watch the shows from the tv and where I can choose from my phone and then they are not just sitting and clicking new content as soon as one is over. Sometimes that’s fine but sometimes I just want to be able to choose and not have her sitting on my phone/iPad.
Locks up all the time
The iOS version of this app is absolutely inferior to the Fire TV version. First, the videos frequently lock up and my kids are frequently frustrated with staring at a black screen with a circular arrow spinning endlessly. This only happens on my Apple TV HD but not on my Fire TV 4K. Second the organization of shows is absolute garbage compared to the Fire TV version. The iOS version just displays a bunch of shows in a linear order with no particular set order interspersed with random music videos. At least the Fire TV version has it arranged by seasons so you can consistently figure out how to find the next episodes instead of constantly scrolling until you find the episodes you want. Overall I’ve found the Apple TV version of Noggin to be awful after using it on a Fire TV. Their Apple TV developers need to try a lot harder.
WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME?
I'M MAD AT THESE PEOPLE FOR NOT LETTING MY 9-YEAR-OLD SON PURCHASE THE SUBSCRIPTION AND IF YOU'RE BEING CONTROLLED BY A PARENT BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO BE 10+ TO INSTALL WHAT YOU WANT UNLESS YOUR PARENTS DON'T TRUST YOU FOR SOME REASON AND IT DOESN'T GO THROUGH THE PARENT’S PHONE IT'S SO STUPID DUMB AND ANNOYING THAT MY 9-YEAR-OLD SON WAS YELLING AT THE NOGGIN COMMUNITY FOR NOT SENDING THE PURCHASE REQUEST TO MINE OR MY WIFE'S PHONE WHICH MADE ME SO MAD THAT I WANTED TO HACK THIER APP AND REMOVE THAT PAY OPTION TO MAKE IT FREE SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY TO MAKE YOUR KID HAPPY BUT I DIDN'T LET MYSELF DO THAT BECAUSE I KNOW IT'S WRONG WHOEVER MADE THIS DUMB SUBSCRIPTION BUTTON TO PAY MUST BE PUNISHED BECAUSE WHO CHARGES THEIR KIDS FOR THEM TO LIVE A HAPPY LIFE? sorry if this was rude, but I was just mad and I couldn't hold my anger back any longer
Not Worth My Money
My 19 month old loves Paw Patrol but honestly it’s a pain to use the app. It’s convenient on the go, but on the tv it’s a lot of work. Firstly, I have to add the app on my Roku, which is fine but I have a smart TV and I have to switch over to the Roku if I want to use Noggin. Secondly, I’m very disappointed with the episode selection. You would think that all of the episodes would be available. There is also an issue with the Roku app where I’ll select and episode for him to watch and then instead of continuing to the next episode, it always replays the same 3 episodes so he’s really only ever watching 3 episodes instead of going through the 20 that are available. It’s more worth it in my opinion to buy the digital version of each season on amazon. Maybe it’s worth the money for older kids but there doesn’t seem to be much for the older kids either.
So many options!
We’ve been watching Noggin for over a year. I was paying monthly but it is more expensive, so we just paid the annual fee because we decided it’s become part of the family. My 4 year old daughter absolutely loves it. They are geared towards fun learning and in order to do that they have to keep kids engaged. They do a great job at this and producing new episodes that touch on many different things; Science, Math, Singing, Dancing, Etc... There is definitely something for each and every child. My daughter’s favorite show is Fresh Beats. It is a show that gets kids dancing and singing, plus it talks about important things in the world; like recycling, and teaches them about prioritizing. If you’re thinking about getting Noggin you can always do a free trial, then if you’re still not sure you can do month to month until you’re ready to commit. That’s exactly what we did.
NOT A STREAMING SERVICE
They advertise all of your kids favorite shows, and for $8 a month you assume you’re getting the same type of service we’ve all come to expect in the steaming service industry, to pay the subscription fee in order to have access to the advertised content across platforms. This is not the case with Noggin. You cannot visit noggin.com to watch this content, and in fact there is no way to access it on a TV that isn’t a Roku or hooked up to an Apple TV. I have my TV connected to my computer and can access every other streaming service just fine via web browser or desktop application, but Noggin only offers a separate $8 subscription to their “Amazon Prime Video Channel” which you would think would be included with this subscription, but it’s not. I digress, the advertising is misleading or at the very least not clear. Most would expect normal streaming services with such an expensive monthly fee.
You’re losing stars
Because I love this app, but I hate the new update and I’m not even having login issues!
I prefer the Moose and Zee version of Noggin, and loved that they were featured currently in this app even though they’re not on the cable channel, and while they are still here on this app, they’re not the stars.
Ok I’ll be honest. My kids only enjoy a few shows, namely Blue’s Clues, Bubble Guppies, and me Gullah Gullah Island. That’s what I pay for: access to these otherwise inaccessible (except Bubble Guppies) shows. And now all I get is a few episodes played on a loop. I don’t know if every single show does this, but on these three shows, no matter which season I choose, I get a loop of 5 or 6 episodes. Especially on GGI, it plays one episode over and over and then changes.
And damned if I’m going to drop my subscription. I love this app just as much as my kids do. Please let us watch all the episodes!
You can't even toss us a bone?
Huge disappointment. I buy apps for my kids frequently and have no problem paying for content. Even subscription content. But this app is the King of All Wallet Bleeds. One option? Really? Other similar apps offer rotating sample content (say, one episode of each show, changed weekly) for free, plus 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month subscription options at progressively favorably discounts. A little something for EVERY family. With this app, you either agree to be billed $6/month up front, or you get NOTHING. So if you're not up for that, don't even bother *downloadingthis app, because it will only be a source of frustration when your child inevitably opens it, sees all the exciting characters, and tries to watch something. Noggin could have been made with children in mind and still have been profitable. Instead it was made purely with profits in mind, revealing a shameful disregard for its own audience.
App is broken -complicated work around that doesn’t work
So the app stopped working like a week ago. We tried everything to get it going again before I finally reached out to Noggin. Was provided an obnoxious “work around” which worked one time and then the app wouldn’t open again.
THIS SUBSCRIPTION IS EXPENSIVE! To have an app that won’t even load when I’m paying this much is theft.
The email I got back from support:
“We read and review all the comments we receive about NOGGIN and use them to improve your experience and add new features.
It sounds like you haven't had an ideal experience and I'm very sorry to hear that! We are working to fix this issue and to reduce any frustrating aspects with the app.
Thank you for taking the time to send us your thoughts.”
Yeah. I’d say it hasn’t been a great experience. I’m cancelling my subscription and deleting the app from our devices. If they can’t provide a functioning app, I’ll take my money elsewhere.
Don’t waste your time.
It’s a Love/Hate relationship
So here’s the rub, my two kids LOVE the NOGGIN app on the TV and their Kindles. They watch it all the time. For the monthly price however it’s a flat out rip-off. There are 5 seasons of Blaze (my sons absolute favorite) NOGGIN has 2 to watch. Paw Patrol also has 5 seasons with only 1 on the service. Team Uni Zoomi ended in 2015 and NOGGIN only has 2 of the shows 4 seasons. My point is for the price you pay you get very little content. Compare NOGGIN to HULU or NETFLIX and it’s hard not to get upset about the monthly price tag. That being said, my kids could care less. They love what’s there and the interactive episodes available o the tablets. We’re cord cutters so it’s a nice addition for the kids to have but I just wish that they would put more content on or lower the price to an amount more suited to what’s being offered. So buyer beware, your kids will most likely love it but parents are going to feel like they aren’t getting their money’s worth.
One last note, NOGGIN does go all in on one show. Blues Clues seems to be the entire series which is nice.
Buyer Beware!
The Noggin app and Noggin through Amazon Prime channels for Fire Stick etc are not one in the same. However, unless you read this extremely carefully, which I found out after the fact, you will get swindled into paying two times for identical subscriptions.
I wanted and paid for the version through Amazon so my child could watch her favorite Nick Jr shows since we recently “cut the cord” and was happy for the ability to do this with Noggin. I saw there was also an identical icon for the Noggin app and so downloaded that as well so we could also watch it on the tablet. Once realizing that it was not identical I contacted Noggin 2x, only hearing back after the 2nd time, and they told me the could not unsubscribe me, but that I had to go through Apple Pay through my phone. Once I figured out how to do this, which took me quite a while since I had never done it before, they had already charged my credit card. Even though I had told them long before this event to cancel. So I needlessly paid for two of the same things unknowingly and they refuse to credit that back. All that is quite shady!
Awesome map but I have a suggestion
I just started using this app again today and I only have one complaint. The app is absolutely awesome and the games are as well. My favorite thing is the books they have including Bob books which a lot of apps don’t have that. My only complaint is that you have to download the games when you click on them. That’s a problem because let’s face it, kids wouldn’t even have patience to wait for it to download button long. Would a parent have enough storage space to download all that stuff. I am blind and autistic and use this app for games and books, and my suggestion would be to make it, so you do not have to download any of the games or books, and they could just be included in the app without having to install them after installing the app. That would really help greatly. Other thing that made me subscribe to this app is the price. It’s a lot cheaper than most apps and I do appreciate that especially since my financial situation has changed where I make less money at my workplace. Besides the one issue awesome app and keep adding more to it! keep up the good work, and you guys are Lifesavers!
Fantastic settings option
If you're familiar with NOGGIN programming this app is fantastic and has everything that you're looking for.
I want to touch on an aspect of this app that is a parental joy! There is an option in settings to turn off the background and loader music for a quieter experience as well as an option to put a video on repeat play or to automatically play the next video within the category.
As a parent of a child on the autism spectrum these are both fantastic options to tailor the app to my child's sensory and input needs.
As a parent of ANY child... this also allows me to turn off some of the constant noise around me while still letting my child enjoy the freedom of 'controlling' his experience!
It is such a relief not having to constantly ask him to turn it down just a bit...and if he wants to watch the same video over and over again? He can.
With NOGGIN's parental settings it's possible to actually enjoy this app rather than tolerate it (as with the majority of most children's apps) and honestly, I love Oswald so I don't really mind hearing it another thousand times... Especially if it's a little quieter getting there.
What is Noggin? Read til the bottom please! Why do we like it!
What is Noggin? Noggin is an app by Nick Jr: Nickelodeon!
How much is Noggin: For a limited time only Noggin is a 2 month trial. After that it is 7.99 a month or 16.99 a year.
Is Noggin educational: it is. At first when I downloaded it I thought of it more as a toy and my son played with it by himself. However one night when he went to bed I actually tried it myself and realized: hey this has more to it than I thought. He’s actually learning a lot from this.
When you first create an account for your child it’s going to ask for your email, have you create a password, put in your child’s name and age, and then have you create an emblem for your child; you can choose from AJ from Blaze and the Monster Machines, Blue from Blue’s Clues/and you, Chase from Paw Patrol, Bot from Team Umizoomi, the Shimmer and Shine characters and more.
After you create your child’s emblem it will ask you to choose their favorite shows: our son Logan likes Paw Patrol and Team Umizoomi.
After you do all of the “all of the work” you get to hand it over to your kid.
But first you need to know what everything does. There are 3 different ways to learn
Play: play educational games with Nick Jr/Noggin Friends
Watch: watch full episodes with Nick Jr/Noggin Friends
This was what confused me until I dug deeper and saw what this app really does
These are the shows and what they teach your child:
Little Bear: life lessons, pretend play
Blue’s Clues: Problem Solving, Reading, Math
Dora the Explorer: Spanish, Following simple directions, teamwork
Max and Ruby: Problem Solving but unlike Blue’s Clues instead of giving simple solutions…learning how to make the problem more manageable
Peppa Pig: Life Lessons, Diversity
Backyardigains: Music and The Arts
Go Diego, Go!: learning about animals and Spanish
Wonder Pets: being a good person in your community, try trying again, and teamwork
Ni-Hao, Kai-Lan: Life Lessons and Chinese
Fresh Beat Band:Music
Team Umizoomi: Addition, Subtraction, Counting, Patterns
Bubble Guppies: Reading, Math
Paw Patrol: Problem Solving, Teamwork
Blaze and the Monster Machines: S:Science, T: Technology, E: Engineering, M: Math
Shimmer and Shine: teamwork, life lessons
Butter Bean Cafe
Rusty Rivets: teamwork, problem solving, STEM
Paddington
Mutt and Stuff
Tiny Chef Show: trying new foods
Wallykazam!: letters, spelling, sight words, sentences, reading
Blue’s Clues and you: problem solving, reading, and math
Moose and Zee: math, shapes, patterns, matching, shorter or taller, length, rhyming.
The final way to learn with Noggin is reading ebooks based on Nick Jr friends.
There’s a home menu so your child can get right back to what they were doing. It does require Wi-Fi but you can download things and use your downloaded content on the road or on a plane or somewhere where Wi-Fi isn’t an option.
Logan’s favorite shows are Paw Patrol and Team Umizoomi and his favorite games are the number games from Blue’s Clues and the hide and seek game from Peppa Pig. So check out Noggin. You will love it once you see what your child can learn from it!

Noggin Preschool Learning App Complaints 17
Doubled charged for 9 months
Let’s start off by saying, had I paid closer attention, maybe this could have been avoided. But after the trial, they started charging me the monthly rate, no problem at all, my kid enjoyed it. But then they started hitting me twice. One for the monthly rate and then a new one for the unlimited monthly rate. Literally charging me twice for the same exact product. How is that even possible? When I inquire about a refund, nothing! So while the content is decent, the people behind the scene are money hungry.

Games do not respond to touch!
This app had a lot of potential but always results in tears for my 3 year old. The games never respond to touch appropriately and often just refuse to take the correct response. The new Paw Patrol Halloween Haunted House game plays for about 30 seconds before refusing to accept any responses. This is incredibly frustrating to both kid and parent. It’s not a cheap subscription for none of the games to work. This is an ongoing issue for the year we’ve had the app and none of the updates have addressed it.

what a shame
im sure it would be great if they actually let u watch anything... you are downloading for the "right" to subscribe for a free trial (which of course will begin go charge you once your whole 7 DAYS are over.. my 1year old wasn't happy while i tried to find Anything he could watch ... (which btw is absolutely nothing unless you subscribe) note to the creators... better to hVe at lease 1 video for each show completely free and then ask for a 1 time cost for the rest of the app.. i would never pay a subscription fee for any app ever.

Pretty buggy for a paid app
It’s not worth the money because the app is so, so buggy. The app doesn’t respond to touch, sound goes in and out, and it freezes constantly. It *mightwork 70% of the time; pisses my kids off when they’re in the middle of a game. And if you have to restart the app, you have to sit through the game intro aaaaaallll over again. If we weren’t in a pandemic and I didn’t need a kid-friendly app to keep kids busy, I would cancel. I probably will in the beginning of 2021. Noggin really should make this app more responsive and reliable.

“Restore Purchase” DAILY
I hate this app.
It makes us go through the “Restore Purchase” process. Every. Single. Day. Some days, like today, I’ve done it twice on each kid’s iPad. What is the point of this? This is not a Department of Defense mainframe, it’s kids’ games and cartoons.
Now, they’ve added two-factor authentication, where I log in with my password, then go to Settings, wait for a text, enter the code, go back to Noggin and tell it I’m done.
If they’re going to give me a part-time job, they should be the ones paying me, and not the other way around.

Can’t use across devices.waste of money
I signed up for Noggin on the iPad using the integrated subscription option where it’s charged to my Apple account via subscriptions. However this doesn’t sync. Unlike every other App I subscribe to via Apple’s subscription in store Noggin doesn’t support log in on Apple TV for subscribers...the only options are “subscribe, sign in via email (which is not synced to my Apple store email), and create account. There’s no ‘Restore subscription’ option. So I have been paying $7.99 a month for barely any use...I’ve wasted about $24 on this subscription...

Money hungry
Noticed I’ve been getting charged twice since September! I’m not understanding why I had two active subscriptions for my daughter. I signed up for one. I had to update my card at one point but still don’t understand how I had two active subscriptions. It’s almost like when one payment failed and I updated my card it active a new subscription and renewed the old one! They had no problem charging me for both. But when I canceled one subscription both deactivated! I’m so frustrated with this app. My daughter don’t even like it using it because I have to still pay for everything on it!

No support
Trying to log back into my account by resetting my password. I keep getting the error message “missing required requested parameters - clientId or CountryCode - UseAuthSuiteSdkSetup.sethAuthSuiteRequestData to initialize params” as if I know what that means? I followed all the instructions to create a new password and tried multiple different passwords to get this same message. Couldn’t find a way to get in contact with anyone for support. The website kept running me in circles back to the FAQ. 0 stars for customer support because now I can’t get into my account that I already paid for.

Doesn’t Work
My 4 year old was so excited to get this app. We downloaded the free trial and let’s just say you get what you pay for. No matter what area we went into it simply did not work. My hope was to supplement ABCMouse with Noggin. At first I was like well maybe it’s just not working because everyone is at home using it, then I was like well everyone is also at home using ABCMouse too but it works just fine. I believe the developers offered a free trial and did NOT prepare for people actually using their free trial. My advice is to stick with ABCMouse or another learning tool that actually works.

Audio issues on fifth GEN iPad mini
As a learning tool this is a really great thing. however, the software is riddled with bugs. I have a fifth GEN iPad mini and the audio cuts out in the middle of a game constantly. I have to go back and start the whole thing over again. The idea that they’re charging $96 a year for an app that doesn’t even work during the week long trial it’s pretty frustrating. This review would be a solid four-star if the app actually worked but considering I’ve had it on my iPad for less than a day and the sound is cut out on games a dozen times I can’t recommend it to anyone especially for the price that they’re asking.

Now this app stinks
I have had this app for over a couple of years now because my son loves everything about it but you guys keeping taking everything away and it’s very annoying! Now that he can’t watch his favorite shows like
blues clues!
bubble guppies!
Gala island!
Little bear!
Franklin!
Oswald!
Allegrahis window!
And so many more shows!
that you guys keep taking away and replacing them with games or little clips! This app is now unenjoyable for my 4 year old who loved so much you had to offer now you have nothing!
I have been a subscriber for over a couple of years now! And now it’s time for us to part are ways!

Bad poor and doesn’t work
I just got this today to years. And it absolutely does not work. It took forever to get it loaded I had to go to another location to use the Wi-Fi to try to get it to work better still did not.
Every time I try to click on a video that has a play button it says ups this video doesn’t work try another. I’ve been trying this for two days.
Downloadable videos I thought would be easier. But they’re not. What happens is I click that on it it keeps telling me to update it. But every time it takes me to the update there’s nothing to update.
I’m on an iPad about one or two years old at this app Absolutely does not work.

You won’t be able to cancel
Do NOT get this app unless you sign up with your phone ID (Apple). I’ve been attempting to cancel my subscription that I signed up for online with a browser and personal email and apparently they assume you only get it with your Apple ID. It’s come down to the point where I’m probably going to have to cancel my debit card just to keep them from taking $5-6 a month for something my child has absolutely no interest in. I was going to get everything through Amazon so everything could be linked but I think my kid can live without Paw Patrol and Peppa because I don’t feel like giving money to a company who can’t get their crap together.

Only one star and this review is for the roku app
You need to fix the bugs. I get booted out of the app after one episode. Of anything. Every. Time. This is the only thing my son can watch blues clues on, and it is his favorite show. But I shouldn’t have to stop what I am doing every 15 minutes to fix his TV to put blues clues back on because he is whining for it. Please fix the bugs, and I will up your rating. And I know it isn’t only my roku device because it is like this on both of the roku devices that my mom has and my sister’s roku TV. If you’re gonna up the noggin pricefrom the $5.99 it used to be to $7.99, ok that’s fine, but make it watchable on all platforms that you have before doing so, because otherwise it is pretty much worthless.

Well
I just started a weeks free trial today. It’s as other reviewers have been saying for months, the app closes after every episode. It does this on both my roku TVs and my iPhone. Good shows, but I will be canceling before my free week is up if not fixed.
Update:
Worked for a while, now not working at all as others have posted. I’ve contacted tech support and they say it’s been rectified. Not hardly. Good shows but I’m canceling my subscription. What’s the point of paying for something you can’t ever use. :(
Update:
Tech said it had been fixed. Nope. It won’t even recognize my email anymore. It says no account is associated with that email. And yet, they debuted my bank account again this morning. Tech is no help. Do not get this app!

Needs work
It’s unfortunate that the app would
hardly works across IOS devices.
Apple TV worked fine for shows. I would suggest going through Apple channels if you only want content. The apple channels is a lot cleaner looking and user friendly then the Noggin app itself.
I wanted my preschooler to be able to play the games so I signed up through my iPhone. The app worked about 2 percent of the time. I consistently had to delete and download again. Even that didn’t always work.
For an app that cost 7.99 I don’t think this should be an issue in 2020. For an example PBS kids app has 24/7. live tv with on demand video content and games. That app works no problem across iOS devices. Very rarely do we have an issue and that’s a free app with no adds.

Wants me to pay for multiple subscriptions
To start this really is a good app for little kids. My 3yo son loved it. I recently cut cable and went a different direction. In doing that the kids lost nick and nick jr. so I thought this would be a good alternative. And it was, until I realized in order to have it on our iPad and out fire stick I have to pay for two subscriptions. Not happening. Why on earth is there not a way to set up an account and log into multiple devices!?! I will not pay almost $16 a month for this. As soon as the month is up I have already paid for through our fire stick I’m cancelling that too. I’ll be posting the same review through them as well. I’m at 100% disappointed in this. Please stop being so greedy. I’ll gladly pay for a subscription when/if this is ever changed. But until then they have lost my business.
