The so-called university does not play by any rules that legit universities follow. They are the most sued school in the USA. When you sue them, they will play "fast and loose" with wording, with their representations to the courts, and they will suddenly loose any and all evidence that is required to be turned over to the Plaintiffs. See all the civil complaints filed against them in Broward County court. They are now in danger of loosing their regional accreditation, that is, by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

They will ruin your life unless you suck up to them.

Nova Southeastern ruined my daughter's college career. After Nova's financail aid office lost her financial aid records, my daughter had no way to continue and finish. She attempted to finish one class at a time. Nova states that since she owes for the class, which she does (approximately 2800.00) she now owes interest to a cheesey 3rd part collection agency who will not even give you their physical address! No information from Nova or the Collection Agency. Their fee is over $1, 000. Nova Southeastern used to be a great school but now is in the bottom of the barrel as far as private Universities go. One semester left after thousands and thousands of $ and no one will admit their mistake by a "party girl" in the financial aid office, nor were they willing to help negotiate the debt for one class. Collections it was probable to a relative of the new President.

The worst possible thing about Nova Southeastern is that to complete their library, this psuedo "prestigious" medical school buried an endangered species " the burrowing owl" alive in order meet time restraints for construction completion. According to the head environmental professor employed at Nova Southeastern, he informed and protested and eventually resigned after this slaughter of an innocent endangered species. Nova Southeastern is a joke and many fine PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES are more worthy of the hefty tuition. Most of the truley talented professors have left their employment there. I would warn every student to reconsider attending NOVA, after all if you can get in to NOVA you can get into Genuine 2nd tier Universities...where you will be treated better. Former student's MOM.

Nova is only in it for the money! As long as you have the cash, you're accepted! They don't even have a football team! How pathetic! Sports? School spirit? forget it! National golf and rowing champs does NOT cut out for school spirit. If you want to remain in south FL for college, go to Broward college (where the EXACT same teachers/curriculum teach at Nova for a fraction of the price), Florida International University or University of Miami (if you have the cash or decent scholarships). Nova loves to spend on obsessively beautifying the grass, but has no money for scholarships?PLEASE? About 2 years ago, the Student Government spent nearly ONE MILLION dollars on a stupid, ugly shark statue in front of the UC! WTF? Seriously, that's good money wasted! I have warned everyone about transfering out and not applying here. It's just awful.

The same thing happen to me. they lost my documents for financial aid. Teachers don't show up for class, and when I tried to file a complaint about it, they avoid your phone calls.

After withdrawing from this school over three years ago, I am now receiving collection notices for a class they enrolled me in a year ago without my knowledge!

Not all the professors are bad, but some are so outrageous it's hard to believe they are teaching at the university level! Former students don't have anything good to say about about one professor in particular whose sexual jokes have made and still do make female students uncomfortable. Everyone is afraid that retaliation will cost them in more ways than one, so current students have been advised to "suck it up" and just get through the class and put it all behind them when the class is complete.
Go to another school because they only care about the money and not supporting students and helping them achieve academic goals or working through rough spots.

Nova southeastern university is the devil! dont enroll into this university. i've been enrolled since fall 2010 trying to complete a doctorate of speech language pathology and these idiots and demons are trying their best to prevent me from completing my dissertation and graduating. these people are beyond horrible and i'm 1 day from sueing them for discrimination. they will take your money until you finish all your coursework then make up a bogus excuse to have you either dismissed from the program or keep you in the program longer then you need to because they won't approve your dissertation. they will definitely reap what that sow!

Beware of Nova Southeastern University. Their representative are very shady and hide a lot of their accreditation and stats. They're known to lie and use intimidation to silence their students!

I really wish I would have read these reviews before enrolling. I enrolled in NSU to work on my second Master's degree and every part of this school system is a sham. I am so saddened, but am speaking to an attorney. If anyone would like to join in my suit, please call me at: 305.918.2265 I'm a local female student and I am not going to allow NSU to steal tens of thousands of dollars from me and force me into sham courses. I was advised by an NSU professor that what NSU needs is a class action suit. So, please, if you are tired of their predatory lending practices and false promises, call me and let's work together.

NSU is a scam. They have a business-centered model, which means they are centered on profit, not their student's success. After griping to an NSU professor, they confessed the school is a sham! They said what NSU needs is a class-action suit. Please call me if you're interested in working together.

I attended Nova to obtain my MS in Mental health Counseling. First they rejected tuition assistance from my job, adding a few thousand dollars back to my debt. I had two very good teachers, one repetitive one to smooth over our discontentment & a dozen who used our time to process their own careers, which typically offered little to no therapeutic value, just Narcissism & Egotism. Then I was placed at an internship in Substance Abuse (not Mental health) under a supervisor with a BA degree. All of the full-time workers at the internship were female, regularly closing the door to discuss personal, female information during work hours and rarely educating me on anything, aside from being a member of the weekly Treatment team. I had no office & had to clear out & clean a mold infested subterranean storage room just to comply with HIPPA laws. The one hired full-time counselor had no license in FL & had not met the educational requirements to counsel in FL, but remained on staff long enough to sleep and subsequently move in with my client from that facility, only receiving a dismissal and no legal charges for her inexcusable violation of therapeutic boundaries. I made my NOVA supervisor and my intern supervisor aware of my client basically telling me he was sleeping with the female counselor, but nothing was ever done. After graduation I received no recommendations, job placement assistance or help towards setting up licensure. NOVA had told my cohort that they were "CACREP equivalent, " which is a category that does not exist aside from CACREP itself. Now I owe $95, 000+ from borrowing $35, 000 somehow, can't use my degree (towards licensure/no portability) out of state & consider suicide daily, thanks NOVA! Instead of applying for this school you would be better off applying for Trump University; at least a roulette table gives one a 50/50 earning some money!

Problem: At a traditional graduate school doctoral program, when you get an incomplete you should not lose library privileges to continue doing research to complete research for a practicum or dissertation. To have to pay tuition if you don't complete your dissertation after paying for continuing dissertation services each semester seems like a money making scam. The student has the honor and privilege of attending school but to place them in a punishable, share-cropping, indentured servant, humiliating financial situation that ensues each semester because there is no recourse for completing research but to pay tuition at the end of each semester needs thorough investigating. According to Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 this would seem to fall under the guise of a same and productive student learning environment void of a predatory loan process that penalizes students versus providing a realistic opportunity to complete a program without having to continually worry about paying for services already paid for. The University benefits at the student's expense and this creates an unfortunate vacuum that could prompt failure versus success.

I am looking for other students who have been sexually harassed by professors or adjunct professors at Nova Southeastern University (NSU). I was harassed and made the mistake of going to the faculty for help. I went through months and months of trauma that ended up in a huge cover-up and my dismissal just stating "Unprofessional Behavior". I was not allowed to see any of the paperwork they had against me. They did not continue investigation of the professor who harassed me as well as other students. I had a great grade point average before all this happened and afterwards I could not transfer my 2 years of graduate school credits. I lost everything and still owe over $100, 000 that I will never be able to repay. It has been nine years and I am still greatly affected emotionally by everything that had happened.

I loved the teachers and loved the classwork. I finished all the classes with a 3.7GPA until the final dissertation. Suddenly the whole "we will be there for you" changed"". They knew they had my money and that I needed 3 credits to graduate, so I was stuck! For the last 3 remaining credits, over ten years, I had 5 advisors! I would start the dissertation, and... one retired, one quit Nova, one was a lawyer who had no idea of my topic (special education) and after 1 1/2 and multiple papers submitted... for the first time asked me to explain a medical device that my whole paper was based on! I requested a new advisor. She was great! I finished Part One of Three, and got the credit. Finished Part Two/of Three and... she was "laid off". In her notes I was to get the second credit and continue to the Part Three. The Credit was not put into the computer, so the school said it did not count. They read her noted directly to me via phone that yes I earned the credit BUT only she could put it into the computer, and she is no longer working for the school. They had the data and refused to put in the credit! So, another new advisor (that had been on my Committee), says she never "liked" my paper and wanted it redone from the beginning research step... Pre-Part One! Every time I restarted with a new advisor, regardless of that stage of the paper I was in, they had be go back and start over with research and rewrite the dissertation from scratch. Any previously accepted drafts (by prior advisors) were rejected. EVEN THE LEGAL DEPARTMENT AT NOVA said I had a case to sue... but I could not afford to do it on my own. Nova gladly took my money and brought me to the point of no return. I was lead through a maze of dissertation "mentors" until time ran out on the "dissertation clock". Now I can't sue... I don't have the money (I owe Nova $200, 000) and I don't know how long legal action can be taken. If others in this "Nova Game" are going to take legal action... let me know! I was emotionally destroyed by this experience and need closure mentally and finically. catzpaw6868@aol.com

Same situation almost exactly. I was never comfortable with my committee because they were all new professors by then, and no one built a rapport, offered encouragement or guidance. Gave me another Master's instead for 78 credits.

This school is awful... I was an online graduate student in their speech language pathology program... took 71 credits so far (4years) and had only 8 credits left and they dismissed me! I can’t transfer the credits to another’s school because I was so far into the program. Now I’m sueing them! I’m $142, 000 loan and only 8 credits left and there telling me I can’t graduate!?! I’m have a good GPA, I admit I feel behind in a few classes but I retook them and got A’s ... I will also be reporting them to the South association of colleges and schools and to ASHA...they are trying to ruin my career and I’m not going to allow it! To all those that have had an awful experience with this school I urge you to please report them to South Association of colleges and schools... what there doing is unethical and needs to be stopped!

The same thing happened to me. I completed all of my coursework for my PhD and requested a leave of absence and an extension. I was denied for both. I am now told that I will not be able to complete my PhD.
