Special needs students
My son with autism attends Nova Southeastern University. Because of his disability, he has difficulty processing and understanding certain things. Despite this, he completed high school with a 4.7 GPA and earned a full Bright Futures scholarship. About a month into his first year, he had an incident where he tried to hug a student. The teacher talked to him and everything was resolved. Someone, not the teacher, called security. They questioned my son without any representation for two hours until they got him to say something they could use to kick him out of the school. I didn't find out about it until they had held me son for more than two hours. They then arranged for a psychologist to fabricate a report stating he shouldn't return to the school because of a "history of repeated violence". There is no history of violence. All of his prior teachers and counselors say that he is the sweetest boy. The school banned him from campus, and now they are charging him with assault, disorderly conduct, and harassment. They refuse to let anyone who isn't on the school faculty to attend the hearing. They have also failed to produce any evidence, statement, or the fabricated psychologist letter. There are multiple laws to protect special needs persons from this sort of treatment. NSU is violating every one of them and doesn't care.
Desired outcome: I would like the fabricated psychologist letter removed from his record and the charges of assault, etc dropped.
Nova southeastern education doctoral program
I have extremely high student loans, due to Organizational Leadership Programs continued changes in the type of dissertation students could write, students should have been grandfathered in since we had already completed the coursework. Nova continued collecting tuition and changed program guidelines so student could not graduate, after time limit(years) exceeds their guidelines, I was told I could no longer get my degree. this was 2012 I have written complaints to U.S, Department of Education and still no resolution, I am stuck with 200K in student loans with NO Degree
Desired outcome: Ed.D, Degree in Organizational Leadership
Billing from dental lab nova southeastern university
In October 2017, my daughter (10 years old at the time) had a procedure done at an oral surgeon's office in Boca Raton, FL. They apparently use the Nova Dental Lab for biopsy's and sent her sample to them for analysis. 3 months later I received an invoice from Nova for the lab work even though I had dental insurance, medical insurance and our deductible for...

I am going through the same thing that I don't fit their blonde hair blue eye but kissing student. They are constantly lying I have all this electronic proof and still they don't see anything wrong with their behavior. Two weeks before finals I had an A and B grades that turn to F's. This time I'm accused of "psychosocial issues" really. I had 3.99 gpa w Masters. Is there anybody out there who could help me guide me on what to do.. I feel like I'm in a third world country with these issues. Please advise anyone who can help me please reach out [protected]@icloud. com PLEASE HELP 12/14/18
dismissal
This school is terrible. I am a online graduate student in their Masters program in Speech language Pathology. I have completed 71 credits and only had 8 credits left and they dismissed me! They took my money $142, 000 and now that are trying not to give me my degree. My GPA is still good and I only had 9 months left. I found out this is what they like to do to students who are close to graduation. I am now sueing them because they violated codes that are in the handbook as well as defamation. Yes, I did fall behind in a few classes but I retook them and got A's! I am so far into the program that I cant even transfer my credits. I am now close to sueing them if they dont give me my degree as well as reporting them to the South Association of schools and sending a letter to ASHA to investigate. Please stay away from this school!
Discrimination seems to be a cardinal administrative policy at this institution. Its a shame because it employs so many wonderful professors!
The same exact thing just happened to me. I am a PhD student and I have completed all of my coursework. The new program director, who has never met, nor requested to speak with me, concurs with the hearsay and subjective interpretation of the former director and decides I will NOT be able to complete my program. I wont reveal much about this former director. All I will say is that my direct experience with them, along with the experiences others have had with them, is suggestive of their sub-par leadership and academic qualities. Another notable imperfection is their compromised working memory, which may or may not explain the number of missed appointments scheduled and delayed phone/email responses. The former director (and probably the current) have one thing in common with myself: We are ALL perfectly fallible. The most notable difference is that my imperfections are apparently intolerable.
online class fraud at nova southeastern university
Ova southeastern university provides classes online. Not until the last few years did they implement a monitoring system I assume is to register the ip address of the student taking an online course. Still, it is a known fact that there are a few students that flunked a class and then took it online and passed. There are many people that charge to take classes for you online. I personally know one person that took an online course after failing it in the classroom at nsu. This individual paid a professional that makes his living, or at least supplements it by advertising and taking courses for others. The university does have excellent programs and gives back to the community more that famous name educational institutions.
I would just wish that nsu would review past online classes and ip addresses as well as have a hot-line to call for fraudulent activities in the classroom and online.
I feel having this type of special call center would put potential cheaters on notice.
There is cheating and fraud in educational institutions and in all aspects of life.
It is wrong for the students that legitimately p[[censored] their classes on their own merits to be tarnished by a tiny percentage of cheaters.
I want to make it clear that nsu gives back to the community and has great free facilities and programs for the public.
I would just like the to be a student fraud report center and a way to personally go there and sign a legal affidavit to out the person I know personally very well that is shoving a degree in everyone's faces but has no merit in retaining this degree because of fraud and cheating. Thank you!
DO NOT apply, or be enticed into applying to the Masters of Science in Speech-Language Pathology graduate program. The Committee is more concerned with following "policies and procedures" and making sure it was followed to the T by the students enrolled in the program then the student's clinical growth. In the three or so years I was enrolled, they increased the cost of tuition subtantially, sneaked in a health insurance fee every semester without previously informing the student. The clinic is a nightmare, graduate student clinicians are consistently walking on ice, and trying to dodge certain supervisors who have a reputation for having unrealistic expectations. Not to mention, the supervisors are overworked, and expected to supervise 4 or so students while still being able to teach and evaluate a student's performance objectively at the end of the semester. Save yourself a headache, money and years in this program by applying elsewhere or re-evaluating your career goals.
Program
One female Instructor, mendelson ( doesn't deserve her title ) is a bully, incompetent, and has a very dull intellect ! . If this is this schools idea of "higher learning ", then there is no question why this school is a risk for losing accreditation . I have not heard one decent remark from her students ! Why this program feel the need to employ this woman is beyond me ! If this is the best they can employ, then I pity the poor students that have been scammed by their propaganda !
Lies and holding transcripts hostage
After receiving a Master's in Health Science degree from Nova Southeastern University, I decided to earn another Masters, specifically an MBA at the same institution. The office of academic advising lied about their AACSB accreditation, which is the gold-standard in business schools. Simply put, this university does not have this accreditation, and upon finding out, during my first semester, I dropped out to attend a properly accredited university. Now, Nova Southeastern University is holding my MHSc degree transcripts hostage, citing that I owe them money they returned to the originator (FASFA). Had they not lied in the beginning, I would never have attended their Wayne Huizenga School of Business only to earn what boils down to a worthless degree. Now I'm stuck - not being able to attend any other institution due to the lack of transcripts. If anyone has had a similar experience with this university, please post your comments, as I'm exploring the option of a class action against Nova. All I really want are my transcripts, however, this school should be held accountable for fraud and unfair business practices.
It is true about the CYS group's program. The program ended before we received our last class. It is also true that you don't meet with your dissertation advisor in person.
Well same experience here! I took Masters courses in education in 2001 and completed all classes except the final paper in the last semester. As a single parent with two kids I simply ran out of money and never took the final class to write the paper. Now, 20 years later I have a Teaching position that requires me to prove I took the courses in order to get paid. Bursar's office told me there is a hold cuz I owe them money? 20 years later first I have heard of this! They continued to tell me that THEY wrote it off years ago! They are trying to charge me for the last class I NEVER TOOK! Then they tried to say that I never finished paying for some other semesters! You pay upfront before the semester class starts! Their story keeps changing! So now they wrote it off AND want me to pay them a debt I never owed in the first place! "Double Dipping" is illegal! My current job requires me to show all my Transcripts or I will not get paid!
Discrimination
This is the most horrible school I have ever been to in my entire life. The MOT program is joke. The tests are a joke. The occupational Therapy program bullies their students to leave if you do not fit their mold. Ie being a white straight submissive passive woman. If you question any teachers that call you aggressive and if you raise your hand to speak in class they deem you as dominating. Every one in the masters program in the Occupational therapy department is afraid of retribution from their teachers. If offend a teacher in any way, they will write lies about you, and place them in their soft files that they will never let you see. Then they use those subjective accusations against in a thing called a committee on student progress CSP which is really just a lynching of you. They will lie about what you said. If can actually keep getting good grades after they discriminate and harass you, they will make up lies about false conversations, and interactions that are not truthful. Then they will dismiss you based off those lies. You have a right to appeal, but the appeal board is made up of teachers from 1 from your department, and 5 others from the HPD college. They all know each other and lie for each other. So the chances of actually getting the dismissal is a fat chance in hell. They told me that I couldn't talk about my personal values because I am a LGBT person. The department chair makes fun of her students by calling them dummies. The advisors ask you to speak to them, then write everything down behind your back to use against you. I am passing with a 3.0 but they are trying to kick me out based on their code of conduct rules that are only implemented or even constructed to that if they don't like you, they will have a way to kick you out. They don't care if they ruin your life. The school is homophobic and will bring retribution against you if you are an out spoken gay person. Please for you sake NEVER GIGO to this school, even if it is your last choice or only choice. Only go to this school if your a passive person willing to never speak for yourself. Actually never go to this school! stay away from them,
Worthless Degree
I wanted to STRONGLY discourage anyone from getting a masters degree in mental health counseling from this school. The degree was entirely overpriced and was definitely not worth the money. It's been 13 years since I graduated. Since I am saddled with horrendous student loans and only qualified for low paying jobs, I cannot even afford basic expenses. Also, I am a licensed counselor and the only thing that created was more fees. Get this degree only if you are a trust fund baby, have a desire to work 3 jobs for the rest of your life, or want to be impoverished. Nova should let you return their worthless degree. At least then I could clean houses for a living and actually get by.

Change (end) of Program With Students
This school started as a mailbox and has a shady past! It has a small undergrdad program and is overloaded with "professional programs"--It merged with an OD school, tiny campus in North Miami. The school is an elaborate diploma mill that could care less about your academic progress once the student loans take effect. The chair and other dissertation advisors are useless. The CYS program "ended" before the group finished the program and I note that several needed classes were included under the new specialization name. If you try to protest in anyway you are "blocked" and the Southern Accrediting regional unit sends you a wad of leagalease to fill out. One students, totally passing grades, up to the dissertation, were dropped to all Fs upon receiving the initial complaint! This school will put you under a debt burden that in any educational career could not be met. That's why it's a "fourth tier" school. They form "clusters" or groups across the country and squeeze as much tuition and fees possible. Thousands of Doctoral Degrees which are one step above those of a diploma mill. Run like hell! If you "quit" the program their records are so bad that they will try to enroll you as a new student even though they should have a record of your past progress! This "online" program is hell and you NEVER see your dissertation advisor in the flesh. Study at any other graduate program!

They will ruin your life
The so-called university does not play by any rules that legit universities follow. They are the most sued school in the USA. When you sue them, they will play "fast and loose" with wording, with their representations to the courts, and they will suddenly loose any and all evidence that is required to be turned over to the Plaintiffs. See all the civil...
