I have student loans that have went through to strayer after the fact that they told me my tuition, room and board, and everything was payed for and I had already gotten back my financial aid. I was told everything was done after disbursements on the 10th of Jan and then get another disbursement for three hundred something dollars but after that had nelnet assigned to me on the 26th of Jan and two more loans go through but nelnet won't let me talk to a supervisor and doesn't know anything of my loans on the 26th. On top of this I haven't even gotten my laptop yet and can't keep up with classes on my pos of a phone. Saying it will be March before I get that. Sure would be nice to have the money I'll end up paying back knowing I have a lot more out there in loans that's not being accounted for.

How are they allowed to do this?
10 years ago I decided to give online learning a chance. And I chose Strayer University to further my education. WORST DECISION I EVER MADE!
Never got replies from teachers. I couldn't get anybody to respond, and I couldn't catch on to many things so I failed classes. This was the same in every class. I had maybe two teachers out of a year and a half of classes. Ultimately I failed because it was too difficult for me and I just didn't understand a lot of the subjects.
Now it haunts me every single night. Literally.
$30,000 later and I have nothing to show for it.
The worst part is, I can't take any of the credits from classes I did pass, and go to a school that can help me.
I can't do that because I can't risk adding on to a $30,000 bill that I can t even afford to make $100 a month payment.
This school ripped me off!
Desired outcome: Wipe my debt so I can get an actual education from somewhere that gives a rat's [censored]
I feel the same way exactly. No I'm on sap suspension and I lost my financial aid $20,000 later I might have lost words I don't know what to do.
Canvas
I am an honors student and I have completed my assignments however they have been deleted. I have grades for them, but it is an English assignment which I have no access to any longer. I have reached out to my professor, soomo, wrote multiple tickets, and spoke to their chat option. I am taking four classes and there is no time to have my assignments erased. I have one person telling me to go to someone else to figure out the answers and I have another person saying that it deleted because of my web browser. My assignments are getting turned in and graded how am I no longer able to see my assignments afterwards? This is crazy that I have to go through so many options when the system that Strayer is using is making a mistake.
Desired outcome: I would like to have a refund for my class that I am not able to complete

Account balance
I received a financial aid refund on 7/16/2023 for 4,268.57. Okay cool because from attending previous schools when you are told that you are due a refund you don't think that three weeks later an "adjustment" to the account is magically done and now you will owe money back. That is exactly what happened to me. I have never had a problem with this University until this quarter. The first financial aid rep stated that because I received the 5k scholarship "mind you this posted to my account back in 04/4/2023", that it did not show up as additional sources at the time so they had to go back in and adjust it because I received too much of a refund. I called back and the next rep stated that she would submit a case to really look into what happened for me. I get a voicemail today basically saying the same thing in a different way. I really just can't with Strayer right now. The kicker is I have attended like three different Universities but I had to end up withdrawing for personal reasons. I started back in 2022 and completed my Associate Degree in less that 2 years. I am 4 classes away from having my Bachelor Degree, and I'm hit with this. Very suspicious!
Desired outcome: I would like for this balance to be adjusted back to zero. I am not paying for a mistake they did not catch, which honestly seems more like a scam.
Sap appeal/financial aid
I took sometime off this year from school because of personal reasons things that were unforeseen. I reenrolled in classes to try to make up what I missed. I went through sap appeal process but was told that the deadline would be Monday on Friday. I got all the information in (doctors note) (medication) and what happened and a new plan of action. The dean signed off on it and I tried to get into couch with anyone at Strayer for clarification. I was placed on hold for an hour transferred and left on hold again. No one came to the phone. I was threatened with sanctions from the student coaches. I am on disability and can’t lay out of pocket without my financial aid. I was told everything looks like it was going to be approved and come to find out they wanted more information. I was told the day after the deadline so I did not get my financial aid. My emails weren’t responded to in timely manner ti get this revolved. I don’t feel like I was giving the best chance to succeed during the process it was high unprofessional and unfair. I was given conflicted statements by several different people at strayer. I was threatened with sanctions because I was calling to get and update and see what I needed to do. Now I am stuck with expenses and things that I need for school that I cannot afford.
Desired outcome: I would like my matter to be looked into and given the proper help. I would like my financial aid back like I was told it was approved. I would like honesty instead of evasiveness.
75% mark-up price for linkedin learning
I graduate from Strayer University at the end of this month. My degree will be my scarlet letter of shame for falling for a scam.
I know most of you may be thinking “Wow, congratulations!” or “What an accomplishment!” but honestly I am ashamed and embarrassed. I have wasted my time and money on a scam. Strayer University has stolen thousands of dollars from me and many others.
Throughout my time at Strayer, I was taken advantage of and did not receive the quality of education that was promised to me. Despite completing my coursework with all A’s and preparing to graduate soon, I have learned very little.
It is particularly concerning that I was directed to watch videos on LinkedIn by my professors instead of receiving proper instruction. These videos are from Linkedin Learning and cost $19.99/mo.
The cost of each class at Strayer: $1525
I was enrolled in three classes per semester. A semester is 11 weeks, so let’s just roll that up to three months. Three months of LinkedIn learning would cost me $60. I instead paid Strayer $4575 plus fees each semester I attended. I’m no genius (and to be honest math is my worst subject) but the math ain’t mathin’.
Unfortunately, this situation has resulted in significant financial expense and a waste of my time completing assignments that I could have completed independently by watching the videos on LinkedIn.
Furthermore, this experience has caused me emotional stress, as I have had to balance my studies while working a full-time job and several part-time jobs to cover the extreme cost of attending this university.
If you are considering attending Strayer University, I urge you to reconsider. There are many other, more reputable universities that will offer you a better education and a better value for your money.
I am sharing my story in the hopes that it will help others avoid the same mistake I made. Strayer University is a scam, and I want to do everything I can to warn others about it.
Desired outcome: I am sharing my story in the hopes that it will help others avoid the same mistake I made. Strayer University is a scam, and I want to do everything I can to warn others about it.
Their dishonesty and financial aid blocking
On April 3,2023 I started school at Strayer University. At this point I'm thinking that all my financial aid is taken care of otherwise how can I start? The next thing I know is I'm getting messages saying that I still have awards at a previous school. When I went and got that taken care of they then come out and say that I have UEH. (Unusual enrollment habits). At this point I am just blown away. Supposedly you can't go to two schools within a 3 year award period with loans and two schools in one year with grants. Well neither of these fell under their so called conditions. At first it was because my awards was at another school then it came to be UEH. Here it is midterms and I haven't quit going to school kept an A average through all the torment they put me through and I had to put in paperwork for a review. I put in all documentation that they keep requesting and they keep finding reasons to not disburse my funds. They just sent me an email today saying I only have one more chance to submit paperwork that I have already submitted telling why I didn't have a passing grade at a school I went to back in 2021. These people are crooked ND something needs to be done about them. I still can't understand if I don't have financial aid, how am I in school and they just enrolled me for my next semester. Something is not right and I think something crooked is going on with this school.
Desired outcome: To get me my funds.
Financial aid
I initially got accepted into Strayer on Jan 26,2023. After getting accepted and doing my financial aid and that being accepted and me getting rewarded. y loans and grants, I went in and accepted them. Strayer also has an laptop program for bachelor courses which I am going for mines in Business Administration. So, my laptop went out March 27th or around then. I have received my laptop got registered for class and everything. Class starts April 3rd. All of a sudden I'm looking for my financial aid to show up and Strayer starts telling me that my financial aid from get this [protected] was still held up at another school... excuse me? You mean a school year that is long and gone? Well they tell me yes, you can still be awarded that. Ok, so I was quite sure that was a lie, so I did my own research and called my last school and they told me that that was incorrect which I then informed Strayer and then they were telling me that my old school was wrong. They hade going back and forth so much, I ended up getting my student advisor to call with me. They even told her the same thing. So, me and her both called my last school and they told us both the same thing they have been telling me and they went in and just zeroed everything out their system that had to do with my finances. We then call Strayer again and let them know what we just did. They tell us it's still there. These people like so much it's ridiculous. So a couple days of them not answering mines or her emails, she finally got them on the phone and what do you know, it was gone on their end too. This was about a week and a half after I got my laptop and everything. So school was right around the corner maybe a week. I went back to check on my financial aid again and it still said the same stuff before and now it had new alerts. Now after all this stuff I have UEH alerts because I went to 3 schools in 3 years. One of those schools the middle school closed down while I was going there and that's the reason I stopped going there. I do let them know this was the issue with that and I no longer fall under unusually enrollment habits. They still until this day have not emailed me back. I have sent at least 10 emails since before school started and they have not replied at all. This is very unprofessional. Another thing is this is nothing but an excuse to cover up what they are really doing. This was not the initial reason of why I have not got my financial aid posted to my account and then after all this time that I was getting that taken care of they come with this UEH. I am just so through with this school. This is a reason for me to drop out of this school but I'm not going to give them the satisfaction. I want my funding that I have the right to have. I have also told them they are interfering with my schooling by the stuff they have been doing since before I started. I have all emails that I have sent them trying to get them to fix my aid. I just want this fixed. Thanks
Financial aid
I am a returning MHA student at Strayer from 2014. I stopped due to them saying I owed $280. At the time I only had 5 classes left to complete my Masters degree! In 2022, I received an email from the dean to get back to school. I paid off my debt and the admissions officer had me complete my 2022 and 2023 FAFSA in Oct 2022. But said I couldn’t start until Jan 2023 because it was too late to enroll in October classes even though I had to complete a FAFSA for the 2022 year! Anyways everything was smooth and got me enrolled until I actually started then the nightmare! In 12/22/22 I order my textbook because my classes started on 1/3/23. My textbook arrived on 1/28/23 so I had to order the ebook. Then my account showed I need my transcripts from undergrad which was weird because I already was attending Strayer for my Masters and was returning to complete.
So I contacted my admissions officer and he told me not to worry because I already attended Strayer. 2 week’s pass and my account is still showing documents needed for financial aid…so I send an email to my admissions officer and my student coach advisor I still haven’t heard anything back. Send an email through a discussion not a financial aid person. They said they need my transcript. So I go online to receive my unofficial transcript from my undergraduate school and pay the money and they email them over to me next day. So I have to send the email from them to strayers registrar office. On 1/18/23, is when I emailed them. I wait a week and nothing. So I email the financial aid person from before she says nothing has been uploaded. I received a email from the Strayers registrar office saying they received my transcripts and have updated my access on 1/19/23 and to contact business office for any financial questions, that was on 1/30/23. It is now 2/1/23 and my account is now showing I owe $1,990.00? My question is why? Dept of education shows my school being paid. And it also shows that I only have $6,000 left in Financial aid and they show that only 4 of my previous classes from Strayer transferred to now! So now I am starting over and no money left to even finish? Strayer is a scam! I studied 3 1/2 years for my Masters degree and had 4-5 classes left now I’m basically starting over? Why wasn’t I told this when registering? They got me back in and took my money and basically said “F” you! Smh!
Desired outcome: I honestly don’t know. I have no money left to start over again with my Masters degree.
I want my federal aid back and all the money that I spent getting my books.
I enrolled into strayer university online courses on September 03/2022 and now they are saying that my high school diploma isn't good enough and they took my federal aid and let me start classes and now I'm not enrolled in classes. I bought all of my material from the online bookstore and I included a screenshot of everything that it costed me. I don't understand how my high school diploma isn't good enough that I have to get my ged to take my classes with the university. I will use my federal aid at another collage.
School enrollment
My name is Luciana Munn I've been studying with Strayer since 4/2021. When enrolling for my fall season on 10/2022, I found out that I had a student loan that was in default. Upon finding out this information I contacted Strayer who in turn told me to contact Debt Management and Resolution to see where the debt came from. When I signed up for school in 2021 I had a student loan that had been paid off before I enrolled. Seeing that I didn't attend another school since then I was confused as to where the debt came from. At that time the government started out with the Fresh Start Program which allows a person to go to school and get government aid without begin penalized for having default student loans. I applied for that program and was awarded $20,000(the full amount of the aid). I then contacted the Debt Management and Resolution department to see what needed to be done in order for me to be enrolled back into school for the fall season. The Debt Management and Resolution wrote me a letter stating that they wouldn't stop me from getting aid for the next semester or until this program ends. After speaking to Strayer, Debt Management Resolution, Department of Education, The Treasury Department, and the IRS I was told that the letter that Debt Management and Resolutions that, that letter is all that I needed to enroll in school again. I contacted Strayer on several occasions and told them what I was told. I spoke with several people in Financial Aid who in turn contacted a supervisor at strayer named Christine Nicholson. Christine Nicholson told me that the letter from Debt Management and Resolution wouldn't work for enrollment in the upcoming semester. She stated that I needed a Default Resolution letter for the year [protected]. I told her that, the letter from Debt Management and Resolution provided is what they needed. She then in return told me that, that's not what I needed. I then contacted Debt Resolution and told them what she said and they in return told me to tell the school to contact them so that, they can straighten this out or I could call them on three-way so they could confirm with them that the letter is exactly what they needed. Christine Nicholson told me that the fresh start program wasn't available from [protected]. I told her that she was correct and that the Debt Management and Resolution said that because this program came into effect is why I would be able to go to school even though I was in default of a student loan. I in turn told her that The Debt Management and Resolution department said that they should call them and it will be straightened out in a matter of minutes. I was so frustrated that I decided to wait until today to try and get this matter resolved. When I contacted Strayer University today I spoke with Nanaal Mahmond. I asked her if I could speak to an administrator to get this matter resolved. She asked what was this in reference to and I explained it to her. She put me on hold to review the notes and came back on the line and asked me if I would like to speak to her supervisor Christin Nicholson since she was familiar with this case. I told her no because I'm not getting anywhere with her so I would like to speak to the administrator. Nanaal Mahmond came back on the line and told me that there weren't any administrators there at the time. I asked her if I could have one of the administrator's numbers and/or their email address. She then in return told me that she didn't have any of that available. There's no way that someone working the phone lines or working at Strayer doesn't have that number or email address for the administrator. I let her know that I had found your information online and that I would be contacting you and asked for their names to add to the complaint. I feel that had anyone that I spoke to just picked up the phone and given The Debt Management and Resolution department that this matter could have been cleared up in a matter of minutes. I told them that they could call the Debt Management and Resolution Department because they were waiting on their(strayer) call or I could call them on three-way just to straighten this out but instead of doing that Christin had the audacity to tell me maybe I need to contact them to see why status had changed. Had she had any intentions of helping me so that I could sign up for the fall semester she could have. Her telling me that I needed to contact them to see why my status had changed should have told her that there was a problem in the system somewhere. Instead, she told me that she couldn't call them for security reasons and that she couldn't get on three-way with me because it was against policy. In case there are any other discrepancies the Fresh Start Program is in effect in order for people who have student loans that are in default to be allowed to go to school without any problems. If you have any questions or concerns you can reach me at [protected]@gmail.com or [protected].
Sincerely,
Just trying to finish my education
Luciana Munn
Desired outcome: I would like this matter to be resolved before the start of the fall season. I also would like for someone to be available in administration to help students when things like this occur. No one should go through this.
Masters of education
I was enrolled in Strayer Universities Master of Education Program and prior to completing my Graduate degree, the University lost its accreditation effectively rendering it useless to apply for any position at an Education Institution. I paused completing the last Semester of the degree because I used Student Loans. Now I owe a substantial sum of money for a program that is not recognized Nationally. Do I have any legal recourse?
Desired outcome: Strayer University should cover the costs of the Student loans due to losing their accreditation while I was pursuing my degree.
False practices-financial aid
in 2014, I took a class and the financial aid never went through. They never contacted me to tell me this. I never received letters or correspondence and $1174 was sent to collections. I tried to withdraw from my classes, and now it is showing I, owe Strayer collections when I tried to go to another school. It is showing up on my learning house. I was misled and now I am being charged for online books and a withdrawal fee.
Desired outcome: I don't want the credits. I want to be able to go back to school and for the amounts for classes, I never took to be cleared.
Re: return check fee over $3k
My name is Glenda Brown and I am a graduate student at Strayer Univ. online the Fredericksburg, VA campus. I have maintained excellent standing since returning to complete my MBA degree. I have earned all A+ in all of my classes and my current GPA is a 3.5.
I am being told that before I can register for classes that a return check balance in the amount of over $3K has to be paid for. How am I going to be pay for something that is due to no fault of my own, I have not worked in 25 months, and I am broke and have no money? I am 3 classes away from completing my MBA degree and had my coach Teona Goodman and FA done their due diligence to begin with I would not even be in this situation to begin with. I recently find out this past week that I had enough loan money to cover all of my classes even though I had been informed by Ms. Goodman that I did not have any money left and would need to go on a payment plan which was not the case.
My loans have been accepted and if I do not register for my class by Monday, April 11, 2022. I will not be able to register for classes again until July 2022. I am scheduled to graduate as of December 2022. I need to complete my degree once and for all and I do not have money to pay for this due to no fault of my own.
If we cannot come to some type of amicable resolution, I will have no choice but to take other actions against Strayer University.
Desired outcome: Either waive the $3K fee or allow me to pay what I can to be completed by the time I am to graduate as of DEC 2022.

Currently, I am working on trying to obtain my Bachelors Degree, when I realized I have a balance with Strayer since 2009. I've never received any correspondence (at any address) concerning this balance. Since my first inquiring into rectifying this matter on May 13, 2021, I have not received any clear answer on how this can be handled. I was asked several occasion, "do I remember what happen in 2008/2009" as to why I withdrew. The answer is simple, "no I do not". It has been over 12 years. All I am asking to have this debt waived so that I can receive my transcripts and finish my degree, or partially waived. I have emails supporting this, where I have asked this same question and received no response. The American Dream is too finish school and get a better job. That's what I am trying to do. Please help me. No one is helping, only giving me the runaround or restating the obvious, which is "you have a balance."
Desired outcome: Balance waived

Hello,
So, I was trying to join Strayer back in 2018 and had completed all paperwork necessary except getting my transcript from other schools because I was told they were going to get it. I had already enrolled in classes and started my classes without my paperwork being fully processed by strayer. So, by week four they email me about my financial aid because something wasn't going right. Any who I kept asking if they received my transcript and they said they were working on it. By that time I knew they didn't have it.
I emailed admissions asking if I could be withdrawn/dropped from the class so that I wouldn't owe but was told that I had already missed the withdraw window. Now I have a $1655 collection debt on my credit and I never received financial aid from them.

I spoke with financial aid and a coach today for about 3 hours. Nobody shows me enrolled only that this course was dropped in Summer 2021. My transcripts are incorrectly reported as a student course.
This has caused the student loan company Mohela to request payback immediately due to being released from Strayer since December 2020. This is fraudulent and grossly negligent of this school to report incorrect information to a lender. I need this corrected ASAP with feedback on timeline.
I am being refused help and Fairness to resolve this issue.
Finally on the call with Strayer today, I asked several times when can I graduate and receive my diploma. They stated to email the President office because I DONT KBOW WHAT TO TELL YOU..

I was told by a strayer student aid to add dependents on a verification worksheet that clearly stated that they needed info as of now instead of pass info. Since Marcus Ragsdale told me to enter dependents that i don't have as of now on that sheet my financial aid is being held up. I feel like this was intentionally done to slow me down, Should i get an attorney?
Desired outcome: That Marcus Ragsdale be dealt with by disiplinary action.
