Cannot handle my $328 Bill
PURPOSE: The purpose of this review is to inform any to-be customer with this company. Please read what happened to me and how the company (NuEra) responded me. The take away message is " They Are Thiefs with no prior credibility"
I responded to one indian agent by phone, he offered me 'best' rates to Pakistan (5 cents/min). They assigned me two seperate numbers (one for my landline and one for cellphone along with 10 digit PIN). deposited $39.
MY COMPLAINT:Once i got my Bell mobility monthly bill, I was charged $328 for long distance calling. infact these were the calls that I made in my local free night time. As it turned out to be, NuEra agent had given me WRONG access number, rather be a local access number, the guy gave me long distance number.
Nu ERA RESPONSE:
took me 2 weeks to get the Manager. Worst customer service staff, they can barely speak English. after 1 month of tiredless efforts the result is "the company can maximum give me $150 service credit for next month". thats is not What i WANT. i need the company to take care of that $328 which is caused by thier mal-service agent.
WHAT I WILL BE DOING NOW? I am comitted to file a legal suit against this company soon.
REQUEST TO ALL: please beware of thier telemarketing. Please make sure you guys have done enough research on NuEra credibility before you signup any contract with them.
THANKS ALL

SCAM!
I signed up with these guys, and the next day I wanted out -- they told me I couldn't have a refund.
That is not true! There is a three-day period in the law for refunds. I got the details on http://findmeafind.wordpress.com/
Do yourself a favor and visit findmeafind.wordpress.com if you want to find out before -or after- how much Nuera Network Sucks
A very unhappy customer.

I signed up with them too and used them for two months. Initially I got a call from a sales rep who got my number from a friend. The sales rep gave me a sweet deal with very special international rates. Even the deposit was cut in half.
To my surprise the company charged me the full deposit amount and I called them back. They promised to return the money but never did. When I got my bill there was a shocker, I got charged for calls I didn't even make, I was keeping a log as well as comparing to my cell phone bill calling to the access number. In addition, I was getting charged the full international calling rate.
I cancelled the service. Don't fall for this scam.
I signed up with Nuera several months ago after being sweet talked into it by a very persuasive female counselor, who said she already had several matches in mind for me and would follow up. This lead me to believe that she was personally going to be working with my account. Not true at all. Instead I was put into their system, which somehow lost me, and it was over 3 weeks before I had enough and decided to call them.
I was told it was a "clerical error" and that I should have been contacted within the first 3 days. At this point I requested a refund, but was told that was not an option, and instead they magically produced a "match" for me that just happened to be available at that moment in time.
They gave him my phone number and we had a total of 2 phone conversations, and it seemed to me that they had put no effort into the match at all because we just were not compatible. It's another 2 months before I hear from them again while I'm on vacation. They said they would check in with me the following week. The next time I heard from them was 5 months later...
They had another match! And after one conversation over the phone, that led to nothing either ( I already knew the person it turns out, not their fault, but rather bad luck).
I called to ask for a refund because I had really gained nothing from being with the service for over 8 months. I was told a refund was not possible after phone numbers had been exchanged, even though I had already requested that at the onset of the problems, they still refused to give me any of my money back.
At this point I've canceled my services with them and am looking into legal ways to get my money back.
I would not recommend Nuera to anyone truly looking for love, because it comes across as nothing more than another scam. Save your money and go somewhere else.
So, you canceled the day after you signed up without even experiencing their service? You can't call yourself a customer then, really.
I signed up with them. Speaking as someone who's actually EXPERIENCED the service, I like them. I think it's a tad histrionic for someone who didn't experience their service to be yelling scam.
Gay Dating / Matchmaking RIPOFF
Nuera is "a same-sex personal introduction service". They are highly skilled salespeople, but my experience is that they're not nearly as good at the job of matchmaking, which they offer for a jaw-dropping price.
Clients must pay a huge upfront fee, but Nuera makes no promises about how long it will take to refer you to the contracted number of matches -- weeks, months, years -- except for a vague reference to "a timely manner, based on the availability of compatible referrals". They won't reveal how many or few clients they have, or share photos of their clients, so you don't get to see the person they want to match you with until you agree to accept that person as one of your limited number of matches. Each client gets a set number of referrals for a predetermined fee (fees vary per client, based on undisclosed variables).
I signed an agreement to not tell how much I paid, but I will say it is considerably higher than any similar service I've found. Look at the Executive Gay Dating website. I've read complaints about them too, and have NO experience with them, so I can't speak one way or the other about their service, but at least they list their fees. Nuera's fees are a lot higher. Still, my complaint is not so much about the outrageous fee, which admittedly I agreed to pay. My complaint is mostly that they were not good at matchmaking! None of the matches they found for me fit within the specifications I was asked to provide. Because their client list is so limited by the cost involved, the matching pool is undoubtedly small (they may tell you or imply that they have hundreds). They can only match clients with other clients. They have extremely high-pressure sales reps, telling enticing but wildly unrealistic stories about their service as it regards your future happiness.
PLEASE read the Better Business Bureau's site about this company. I sure wish I'd read it before I gave Nuera my money!
From the Better Business Bureau's Comments & Analysis:
"the majority of complaints generated for this industry concern verbal misrepresentations by salespersons and contractual disputes regarding cancellation and refunds. To avoid potential problems when considering a dating service, we recommend that you make sure you understand exactly what services your contract provides for before making a buying decision. Don’t succumb to high pressure sales, and don’t rely on verbal claims of successful matches and satisfied clients. Careful reading of the contract will reveal that the company cannot make any guarantees you will find a satisfactory match.
Before you join a service...Find out how many active members are in your area, how often the member information is updated, and what methods the company uses to facilitate matches."
You might get lucky. They might eventually match you with someone that turns out to be your next partner, from among their limited clientele. Do some more research first. Find out what more than just a few strangers have to say. If one of your experienced trust-worthy friends can personally recommend this company and if you have enough spare money to be able to say "hey, why not just give this a try?", then hey, go for it.

I signed up with Nuera Network in July of 2009. I have met 3 women. Three women because I was constantly calling the Network. Unfortunately, none of these women I would consider a good match for me. I had complained multiple times, requesting to have my money returned (starting after the first match). Everytime, they would comment on it taking a while to get to know me and what matches work and do not work...please patient...this is a matter of the heart (yuck!). The last time I spoke to them was 2.5 months ago. At that time, I was asking for my money back again. The woman that sold (yes sold) me this membership acted as if it would be extremely easy to set me up...not when you have 3 women in system! I don't believe that they have the number of clients that they lead you to believe. The so called counselor that you meet with is actually a saleswoman. She doesn't want you to walk out without the sale. I am so disgusted with myself for signing up. If I can stop someone from making the same mistake, I will be happy (even if it means less women in the system to meet)!
Dear Upright Citizen: I interviewed for the Nuera program, but the cost was a bit prohibitive at the time, and I decided to wait. The interview was interesting but she got a little side-tracked and didn't really ask me questions that would help them know what kind of match I was after or what I had to offer, other than my looks. I had the fear that this was possibly something someone was willing to do at almost any cost to meet the right guy. Even going to this interview, it made me feel a bit vulnerable. She also mentioned guys that were so good looking in the program, many guys just couldn't accept or feel comfortable with their handsomeness. I thought it sounded odd. When I said I wanted to wait, she wasn't very happy about it, but she gave me a hug and said "think it over." Let's face it, it's hard to meet nice people who are sincerely looking for a sincere relationship. There are many people who are very, very difficult matches. So I would still recommend considering the program, but be realistic. It can only be as good as the good intentions of the members.
Upright Citizen, I would be interested in meeting you, if you are still looking to meet someone. I know... it sounds too whacky to be true, but you posted a very clear and concise letter here, and that sounds like the type of guy I would like to meet. Contact me at Laurelhurstniceguy@yahoo.com

CIVIL CODE
SECTION [protected].4
1694. As used in this chapter, a dating service contract is any
contract with any organization that offers dating, matrimonial, or
social referral services by any of the following means:
(a) An exchange of names, telephone numbers, addresses, and
statistics.
(b) A photograph or video selection process.
(c) Personal introductions provided by the organization at its
place of business.
(d) A social environment provided by the organization intended
primarily as an alternative to other singles' bars or club-type
environments.
1694.1. (a) In addition to any other right to revoke an offer, the
buyer has the right to cancel a dating service contract or offer,
until midnight of the third business day after the day on which the
buyer signs an agreement or offer to purchase those services.
(b) Cancellation occurs when the buyer gives written notice of
cancellation by mail, telegram, or delivery to the seller at the
address specified in the agreement or offer.
(c) Notice of cancellation, if given by mail, is effective when
deposited in the mail properly addressed with postage prepaid.
(d) Notice of cancellation given by the buyer need not take the
particular form as provided in the contract or offer to purchase and,
however expressed, is effective if it indicates the intention of the
buyer not to be bound by the dating service contract.
(e) All moneys paid pursuant to any contract for dating services
shall be refunded within 10 days of receipt of the notice of
cancellation.
(f) The buyer may notify the dating service of his or her intent
to cancel the contract within the three-day period specified in this
section and stop the processing of a credit card voucher or check by
telephone notification to the dating service. However, this does not
negate the obligation of the buyer to cancel the contract by mail,
telegram, or delivery as required pursuant to this section.
1694.2. (a) A dating service contract shall be in writing. A copy
of the contract shall be provided to the buyer at the time he or she
signs the contract.
(b) Every dating service contract shall contain on its face, and
in close proximity to the space reserved for the signature of the
buyer, a conspicuous statement in a size equal to at least 10-point
boldface type, as follows:
"You, the buyer, may cancel this agreement, without any penalty or
obligation, at any time prior to midnight of the original contract
seller's third business day following the date of this contract,
excluding Sundays and holidays. To cancel this agreement, mail or
deliver a signed and dated notice, or send a telegram which states
that you, the buyer, are canceling this agreement, or words of
similar effect. This notice shall be sent to:
________________________
(Name of the business that
sold you the contract)
________________________."
(Address of the business that
sold you the contract)
(c) The dating service contract shall contain on the first page,
in a type size no smaller than that generally used in the body of the
document, the name and address of the dating service operator to
which the notice of cancellation is to be mailed; and the date the
buyer signed the contract.
(d) No dating service contract shall require payments or financing
by the buyer over a period in excess of two years from the date the
contract is entered into, nor shall the term of any such contract be
measured by the life of the buyer. However, the services to be
rendered to the buyer under the contract may extend over a period
beginning within six months and ending within three years of the date
the contract is entered into.
(e) If a dating service contract is not in compliance with this
chapter, the buyer may, at any time, cancel the contract.
1694.3. Every dating service contract shall contain language
providing that:
(a) If by reason of death or disability the buyer is unable to
receive all services for which the buyer has contracted, the buyer
and the buyer's estate may elect to be relieved of the obligation to
make payments for services other than those received before death or
the onset of disability, except as provided in paragraph (3).
(1) If the buyer has prepaid any amount for services, so much of
the amount prepaid that is allocable to services that the buyer has
not received shall be promptly refunded to the buyer or his or her
representative.
(2) "Disability" means a condition which precludes the buyer from
physically using the services specified in the contract during the
term of disability and the condition is verified in writing by a
physician designated and remunerated by the buyer. The written
verification of the physician shall be presented to the seller.
(3) If the physician determines that the duration of the
disability will be less than six months, the seller may extend the
term of the contract for a period of six months at no additional
charge to the buyer in lieu of cancellation.
(b) If the buyer relocates his or her primary residence further
than 50 miles from the dating service office and is unable to
transfer the contract to a comparable facility, the buyer may elect
to be relieved of the obligation to make payment for services other
than those received prior to that relocation, and if the buyer has
prepaid any amount for dating services, so much of the amount prepaid
that is allocable to services that the buyer has not received shall
be promptly refunded to the buyer. A buyer who elects to be relieved
of further obligation pursuant to this subdivision may be charged a
predetermined fee not to exceed one hundred dollars ($100) or, if
more than half the life of the contract has expired, a predetermined
fee not to exceed fifty dollars ($50).
1694.4. (a) Any contract for dating services which does not comply
with this chapter is void and unenforceable.
(b) Any contract for dating services entered into under willful
and fraudulent or misleading information or advertisements of the
seller is void and unenforceable.
(c) Any buyer injured by a violation of this chapter may bring an
action for the recovery of damages in a court of competent
jurisdiction. Judgment may be entered for three times the amount at
which the actual damages are assessed. Reasonable attorney fees may
be awarded to the prevailing party.
(d) Notwithstanding the provisions of any contract to the
contrary, whenever the contract price is payable in installments and
the buyer is relieved from making further payments or entitled to a
refund under this chapter, the buyer shall be entitled to receive a
refund or refund credit of that portion of the cash price as is
allocable to the services not actually received by the buyer. The
refund of any finance charge shall be computed according to the "sum
of the balance method, " also known as the "Rule of 78."
(e) Any waiver by the buyer of this chapter is void and
unenforceable.
WANT OUT OF THE NUERA NETWORK CONTRACT?
In California, there is an entire Civil Code section devoted to “dating service” contracts – Civil Code section 1694.
Nuera apparently either isn’t aware of this, or doesn’t care — because its standard agreement appears to ignore the requirements of the statute. So, in short, the contract may be easily VOIDABLE due to its flaws with respect to the California Civil Code.
Section 1694.2(e) of the statute reads, “If a dating service contract is not in compliance with this chapter, the buyer may, at any time, cancel the contract.”
One of the requirements is that a dating service contract must clearly disclose a “three-day cooling-off” period during which you can nullify the contract and get a full refund. This must be disclosed in a certain place in the agreement, in certain size typeface, etc. It appears to be completely absent from the current Nuera agreement.
Also missing from the Nuera contract is any mention of the “disability” and “relocation” clauses which seem to be required by the statute.
To reiterate, failure to adhere to this Civil Code section apparently makes the contract, according to the BBB, unenforceable and voidable. Additionally, the statute would appear to specify that consumers may sue in court for “triple damages” as well as attorney’s fees.

Yes, you can file a complain to the Better Bussiness Bureau. This is what I did and it took only 15 minutes to fill all the parts. I have a $300 balance due and when ever they called me I says I am not going to pay them and then hung up the phone.
