This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

Stupid me, I responded to one of the "free computer" ads, and of approx. 150 ads available, I selected On Lingo and another.
On Lingo sent me a disc of $4.95 plus $1.oo shipping. Imagine my surprise when my credit card should a billing of $84.75 from their company.

In calling to protest, it two weeks of calling to finally get through. They said they had already shipped other discs and I was basically SOL even though I said I was not interested, did not want the program and wanted my money back. It's not "their" problem who runs the adverstisement or that it's a rip off. I have sent this to the Better Business and my attorney and finally my " I should have known better" file.

I'm posting this is as a warning and suggest we all BOYCOTT on lingo products. Beleive it or not, I actually do know people all over the world.

I agree, more faulty advertising promising a free trial and charging you for "shipping" and then periodic shipments. I just canceled any future shipments and although they tried to tell me not to, returned the 3 items they sent me. She said on the phone that they "can't receive" returns, making it sound like a physical impossibility. But the return address is right on the package. I sent them back and hope that they will have the decency to credit me for unopened, unused product.
We could contact the BBB or CA Attorney Generals office, you know. That might make them treat all of us better.

Hi there, go to your financial institution and fill out an affidavit. They will cancel your card and prosecute onlingo. I was recently had by a company call adnow. I never heard of them. Be patient about getting your money back. It takes 5 to 10 business days, because the bank have to investigate. Lots of luck.

Ben Nicholls Solicitor -- ### and idiot

Benjamin Nicholls solicitor ### or idiot (or is he both ?)
Elrington Boardman Allport are they ###s or idiots (or both ?) because they employ the ### and idiot Solicitor Ben Nicholls
idiot Benjamin Nicholls solicitor at idiots Elrington Boardman Allport Lawyers of 122 Monaro Street QUEANBEYAN NSW, 2620
Ben Nicholls idiot Solicitor of Elrington Boardman Allport idiots Canberra Office Level 3, Colonial Mutual Building, 17-21 University Avenue Canberra ACT 2601
### Ben Nicholls solicitor of ###s Elrington Boardman Allport Yass Office 122 Comur Street, Yass NSW 2582
Ben Nicholls ### Solicitor of Elrington Boardman Allport ###s Boorowa office 45 Marsden Street Boorowa NSW 2586

Around (approximately) 1995 self made, hard working, extremely honest and trusting prominent Queanbeyan NSW businessman John Reid (the proprietor of quite a few successful local businesses TYRES/BATTERYS/AUCTIONS/AMUSEMENTS) paid Elrington Boadman Allport Solicitors of Queanbeyan for a commercial industrial property in Silva Avenue Queanbeyan.
John Reid purchased the property through Mr Tim Leggett of Leggett Real Estate Queanbeyan
Because John Reid had serious coronary failure and (at the time) and John was separated from his wife (Joan Margaret), (John & Joan upon their separation had settled all their wealth etc 50%/50% )
John Reid did not want to put the title of this property (25 Silva Avenue) in his name, as he was worried his ex wife (Joan Margaret, who was a "gold-bricker" and "money-waster") may have managed to get her "claws" into it upon his death, so John Reid had the property put into his young teenage daughters name (Gemma) who at the time was a student at Merici college in Limestone Avenue Canberra.
Not long after this transaction, John Reid purchased another property, this time a second story strata title one bedroom brick unit in Mowatt Street Queanbeyan
from Mr Tim Leggett of Leggett Real Estate Queanbean.
John Reid paid Elrington Boardman Allport Lawyers Queanbeyan to also do the conveyancing on this property for him, and John Reid had them place his young teenage daughter Gemma, who was still going to school, on the title as a trustee for John Reid.
Things progressed smoothly for some time, and John started a relationship with Barbara (who is now his present wife) and after some time, John and Barbara decided to sell the Mowatt Street Strata Title Unit, which they did through Mr Brian Worth Solicitor of Canberra ACT.
When the property was sold, and Mr Brian Worth sent the cheque for the sale of the property to John and Barbara.
Because that property was in Gemma, s name(she was the trustee for her father John) the cheque was in Gemmja Reids name, so John requested Gemma to sign on the back of the cheque "PLEASE PAY TO BARBARA, S BATTERY FACTORY" which was one of John & Barbara, s businesses, so Gemma signed this on the back of the cheque and the money went into Barbara, s Battery Factory, s account at the Snowy Mountains Building Society.

Gemma, Johns daughter has two "loser" brothers, one an absolute imbecile with less brains than a white ant, Eugene Cleveland Ganzerla who is also a "two-cent"
standover merchant and bully, who is constantly in trouble with the law for violence and assault.
Her other brother Lloyd Stephen Ganzerla is a dangerous psychotic "head-case". He has (and his wife Belinda Jane Ganzerla) have smoked too much "dope" over the years
and he has become a "full-blown" schizophrenic who is totally unreliable, unpredictiable and deadly violent.
He is also a chronic liar and you cannot believe anything he, or his (always "drugged-out") wife Belinda say.
He has spent time as a prisoner at Stuart Creek Prison near Townsville Qld.

These three criminals,
Lloyd Stephen Ganzerla - 9 Bangalay Street Qbn NSW
Eugene Cleveland Ganzerla - NSW
Gemma Mary Christina Reid or Newman or McManus or Hunter or Ganzerla NSW or ACT (she uses many different names as she "ripps-off" people, real estate agents, banks,
building societys, landlords, and all types of people
in the company of a "bent" armed & corrupt NSW Police Officer Leslie Charles Gilroy employee of Andrew Phillip Scipione the Commissioner of the New South Wales Police Force
and with the help of a stupid (believe me STUPID) Solicitor Benjamin Nicholls of Queanbeyan NSW who works for
Elrington Boardman Allport Lawyers of Canberra, Queanbeyan, Yass, Boorowa

These criminals in company
Tracy Anne Ganzerla -- nee Payne
Ronald John Smith -- ex Harden NSW
Barry Smith - ex Harden NSW
Joan Margaret Ganzerla - nee Reid - nee Newman - nee McManus - nee Hunter
decided to get their inheritance BEFORE dad (John Reid) died.
These criminals couldnt wait for their father to die, they wanted their inheritance early, BY ANY MEANS.

So the above criminals, after many discussions and plans at 9 Bangaly Street Qbn NSW, Gemma Mary Christina Reid went to Ben Nicholls Solicitor and told the idiot
that she had bought the property at 25 Silva Avenue, and that her father John Reid was just "freeloading" there with his defacto Barbara, and neither Barbara nor John lived there..
Idiot Ben Nicholls put together an eviction notice for Barbara & John and nearly got away with evicting John & Barbara from their home and businesses,
except Johns lawyer MR Brian Worth prevented this.
Enter, corrupt, thieving, liar NSW Police Officer Leslie Charles Gilroy, who we can only believe for his percentage of the robbery that occurred, threatened John and Barbara with arrest
if they did not leave thyeir property.
This idiot Ben Nicholls cost John Reid at least $200, 000 in legal fees in the Supreme Court in Sydney NSW, through his absolute stupidity, because idiot Ben Nicholls
did not check the truth in what Gemma Reid claimed.
IDIOT Ben Nicholls would have found out that Gemma Reid was only a 15years old Merici School student when she claimed she worked, and saved, and paid for the property
at 25 Silva Avenue that John Reid had purchased through IDIOT Ben Nicholls employers Elrington Boardman Allport Lawyers of Queanbeyan.

Mark McDonald of Mander Toyota Queanbeyan (liar and perjuror)
Mark McDonald (liar & perjuror) of Mander Toyota Workshops Queanbeyan NSW committed perjury 0n a sworn Affidavit No. 2330/02 on 16th May 2002, signed in front of and witnessed by Benjamin Nicholls a solicitor for Elrington Boardman Allport solicitors Queanbeyan NSW when he lied (committed perjury) on a sworn Statement for the Supreme Court in Sydney NSW.
This liar, perjurer and "dope-smoker" (he buys his "dope" of Lloyd Stephen Ganzerla. Qbn NSW) lied on a sworn Statement saying Lloyd Ganzerla was the owner of Lloyds Tyre & Battery factory in Queanbeyan. This liar knew full well that I (John Reid) owned these businesses and also that I only dealt with Guido the Manager of Mander Toyota Queanbeyan, indeed I also purchased a forklift from Guido at Mander Toyota Queanbeyan, and it was my cheques that Mander Toyota Queanbeyan recieved, and Guido THE MANAGER AND Mark McDonald knew full well that I was the owner of those businesses.
The reason Mark McDonald (liar) of Manda Toyota Queanbeyan lied and commit perjury on his statement I think, was that he was doing his drug dealer and user friend Lloyd Stephen Ganzerla a favor.
This idiot, liar, perjurer and "dope smoker" Mark McDonald also said in his Sworn statement for the Supreme Court of NSW that everytime he went to my tyre business he used to observe me not fitting tyres, but just watching customers and the workers, he indicated that I did not change tyres.! IS THIS IDIOT "dope-smoker" FOR REAL ? .. a successful businessman like me 56 years old in poor health ..changing tyres ? ... what sort of "dope" was Mark McDonald smoking when he signed that sworn statement under oath... I, like any other successful bussinessman was watching to make sure my business (businesses) were running smoothly, thats why I had successful businesses.I never ever saw Guido at Mander Toyota working in the workshop unless he was showing a worker something, Guido was too busy running the bussiness effectively to be doing manual work.!
Mark McDonald of Mander Toyota Queanbeyan lies and perjury on 16th May 2002 (and at other times) contributed to my losing hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Mark McDonald was only employed in the workshops at Mander Toyota Queanbeyan at the time and did not have any authority to speak on behalf of Mander Toyota Queanbeyan or swear on Supreme Court Statements on behalf of Mander Toyota Queanbeyan NSW.

Junkbox said:"I had no problem cancelling my account, Called... the rep was friendly, she tried a last minute hard sell and cancelled my account."

The phone number listed sends a text message stating that you need to press "Y" on your cell phone. they don't mention anything about customer care, they are prompting to sell their product.

I'm confused...

If this is still going on, I'd suggest reporting the original payment method as lost or stolen to the issuer. Whether you used a credit card, debit card or checking account number, the issuer can easily change your account number, rendering the original number useless.
Make sure you ask your issuer (maybe in writing) if you will be assessed a fee for the change of account number(s), if you will be assessed a fee for future attempted charges using the original number, and if failed attempts to charge using the original number can affect your credit rating.

If you want to buy stuff online, I suggest you open a checking account that issues a debit card. You can plan to buy products and services online and maintain just enough money in checking to pay for the purchases you want to make. If you tie the checking account to a small savings account, you can often make the transfers online in realtime. Do NOT opt for any overdraft protection on the checking account, as you will be liable for charges made against the overdraft (credit) account if you agreed to something like this and did not provide the money in the checking account.
Lastly, READ what you are buying before you buy, and research the company online.

I want to add that you need to have proof that you have attempted to cancel your account. Send them a US Postal Service certified copy of a letter requesting cancellation. If you have agreed to a cancellation fee, pay it included in the letter and keep a copyof the check. Be sure to reference in the item line "cancellation fee of ( the account number you were issued)".
Document any phone conversations - ask for the name if anyone answers and request that person if you call again. Write down the date and time of any call, and record in writing what you say and what response you get, if any.

Read the original agreement again before you do anything. If there is no method for cancellation, check with your state to see if there is any kind of protection against that kind of agreement . You might be able to get help from your state if the contract you agreed to was illegal in your state.
Hope this helps.

I would love to write an articulate complaint here, but I'm so furious with Onlingo, its underhanded practices, that it seems next to impossible to cancel your account, that the details of the trial period are somewhat murky in their emails and that every time you turn around, you are billed for another $80. I just got off the phone with them and managed to get permission (after being told it was impossible) to send back and get a refund for one of my two unopened packages. I'm not done with them - but I encourage everyone to let their networks know that this is a difficult, sneaky business. I said to the polite woman (who was reading her responses extremely carefully) that in the age of YELP and social media, companies who do business the way Onlingo is doing it are destined to be found out and to fail. She said, "I would be happy to help you with that." I wanted to say, "Huh? Help with...?" Under no circumstances order from Onlingo.

Here is the cancelation # for onlingo [protected]. Do a online search for "cancel onlingo".
Go to one of the syndero.com websites. This is where the # is. I just canceled today. I still have to pay the shipping to and from. But they are supposed to email directions on how to mail it back, and give me 30 days to do it. I hope this was helpful.

The same thing happened to my 18 year old son. He went online and did a survey where he could win a laptop, this is the outcome... to try out Onlingo one time only.. he only had to pay the one time shipping of $6.95. that's how they got his debit card number...he had no idea about anything. I cancelled this Onlingo I hope last night after getting the first invoice in with CD yesterday. They had chargedmy son $89.90 of unautherized charges 2 times in January, 1 time in December plus the original $6.95 s&h the day after so called 14 day trial period was up. My son knew nothing, no more than the one time cost $6.95 shipping for one CD... again he agreed to trial that's it.. they told me he had basically signed an agreement with them or a contract. when he entered this survey. . I have had to cancel his debit card as our bank told me he had paid over $250 in a month and half to them. They misinform and trick people. I am having to send back the one CD he got yesterday, they told me I must pay for the shipping again to get only 79 dollars back, this was after calling them 4 times, 2 times I was hung up on the nthey told me they were doing this much for me out of courtesy ... the people I spoke with last night are out of IOWA. The company is based out of a warehouse with several other so-called businesses in California. We live in a State where it is illegal to do this to a minor. My bank told me they are pulling money out of his account every 25 days...89+ dollars... Onlingo rep. told me he entered into a contract with them and we have no recourse as he did it on internet, it is out of our juristriction So there's nothing we can do about it...or there's no way we can get his money refunded. I only hope it is cancelled now. I am sending this one CD back today and having to pay to send it, but get this they also was told that they cannot refund it if we cancelled that debit card So it looks like we will not get anything back.. I only hope someone reads this and will never fall for this.

Onlingo offered a language course for $9.95 advertising you could learn any language in just ten days. I ordered Spanish and saw that it was basic and easy to understand. Later I received another package (unordered) of further Spanish with a later charge to my credit card (unauthorized) for $64.00.
