I had an appointment at 10:00AM and came in 15 minutes late. I understand I'm running late but the customer service I received was horrible. I tried calling but unfortunately this location doesn't have a direct number and I have to call the 1-800 number and then wait to get directed. This is ridiculous because there are waiting times just so someone can...

Planned Parenthood Federation Of America [PPFA] everything

I go in 12/15 knowing something is wrong. Get an exam they say I have trich. I tell the assistant I wanted my pee sent to be tested. Doctor or nurse comes in and says I don't need it. Go back 12/29 to make sure everything is clear. They said I'm fine... nothing. Then get a call 1/3 for gonorrhea. I just feel this all could have been tested 12/15. Like why do I have to keep coming back.

Planned Parenthood Federation Of America [PPFA] denied birth control refill

I am/was a pt at the East Genesee office in Syracuse since Sept. 2017. I have been getting my birth control pills automatically refilled since then with no issues until today. I went to the pharmacy as usual to get my new pack of pills and was told by the pharmacist the refill request was DENIED? The pharmacist called the office to get an explanation as to why the request was denied, she was told I needed to make an apt before they would refill my pills! That is a BIG issue. I asked the pharmacist to ask if they could front me a pack of pills to get me by until I could get in to be seen for a follow up, they REFUSED! They told the pharmacist they were very strict on this issue and I would have to be seen first, then I could get more pills. That is a huge problem and very unprofessional conduct. For one, I was a brand new pt back in Sept of 2017 AT THIS PARTICULAR OFFICE. No one EVER discussed this with me about being seen once a year before I could get more refills on pills. I was not EVER CONTACTED in advance with even so much as a letter or a phone call to remind me of this so-called policy they have. Now, I'm totally without birth control and having to interrupt my pill cycle. This is VERY unacceptable and completely WRONG! I have been forced to contact my PCP to see if they will write a Rx to front me at least one pack of pills until I'm able to make an apt with a different Dr. I will not ever do business with a Planned Parenthood EVER again, and would expect this office or provider, Dr. Harris to be disciplined in some way, this is against all the rules I THOUGHT Planned Parenthood was about. It seems to me if anyone was doing there job correctly and paying attention, when they received the refill request for more pills from the pharmacy, they KNEW I was going to be needing another Rx and they KNEW I was going to need a follow up, yet they FAILED to even call me for an appt reminder follow up to get my new pills. Someone dropped the ball somewhere, and this is a serious flaw in the way things are done at this office. I have been a long term patient at a different Planned Parenthood elsewhere and have NEVER had this happen to me. My pills were automatically filled, and when I had a pap smear, they made sure I had enough pills to last until my next pap smear, which was only every other year, maybe, which at the time they did the pap smear, they made the follow up that day, then called in advance to remind me of my next appt. so I would not ever have a lapse in my pill cycle. THAT IS HOW IT SHOULD BE DONE! YOU SHOULD NOT EVER DENY A PATIENT OF THEIR BIRTH CONTROL. IT IS NOT A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE! VERY UNACCEPTABLE, SHAME ON YOU!

The medical provider's office is being responsible, insuring YOUR good health and also following the law. You got a 1 year Rx for OC's - 12 month's worth. It's OCT 2018...time for your annual exam, after which you'll receive another 12 months of refills. Just like eyeglasses or contacts - you can't get new ones without an annual exam. Smarten up before you blast your Planned Parenthood office.

Maybe you should be more responsible and stop relying on taxpayers to pay for your birth control pills. You probably wouldn’t need them if you weren’t such a wild whøre.

Planned Parenthood Federation Of America [PPFA] disappointed about care

I am very disappointed about the care I received. Not only was I given incorrect information over the phone seceral times when scheduling my appointment, but I ended up having to do the surgical abortion instead of the abortion pill, which is mjch more invasive and not at all what I wanted. The process and procedure seemed rushed and I was in a lot more pain than seemed normal, not just during but after too. All they did was give me some more ibuprofen and hurry me out the door. I still don't feel right and I don't seem to be bleeding like I am supposed to. They also neglected to screen me for the financial assistance that they had available and it was only after I had complained about their poor service that they finally gave me a screening and got me set up with some private grant money.

It’s time for you to get fixed! You got a free abortion and you are complaining that it hurt to bad. You need to put on your big girl pants and be more responsible. It was probably the best thing that you had an abortion. You obviously wouldn’t be a good mother anyway!

Honestly, I can’t stand the fact that my tax dollars fund abortions for [censored]s like you just because you are to irresponsible to use a condom and can’t help but spread your legs for every man you meet. I’m glad you had a bad experience here. Hopefully you will remember this and make better choices in the future. Can you imagine how your unborn baby felt while you were killing it?

Planned Parenthood Federation Of America [PPFA] planned parenthood elizabeth, nj

I come to this place frequently, every time I am amazed on how rude the people at the front desk are to patients. They don't treat people with respect, they act like they don't like their jobs. I know many people who would love to have that easy job and would do it hundred times better. Some of my friend stop going to this place because of that, it is very unfair that many patients are not using planned parenthood services because of how incompetent those workers are.

You should have used a condom. I personally don’t like the fact that my tax dollars go to pay for worthless [censored]s like you to have an abortion just because you can’t help but spread your legs for every man you meet. I’m glad it was a painful procedure for you. Maybe you will think twice about having unprotected sex next time. Can you imagine how your unborn baby felt as it was being killed?

Planned Parenthood Federation Of America [PPFA] record request

I am a previous employee who needs proof of the flu shot I received last fall October 2017 for my new job. I have been asking my old manager to send this information to me and my new occupational health services so I may start my new position. She at first said she couldn't find the documentation and then said she sent it even though she didn't and is now ignoring my request completely for the last two weeks. I am unable to start my new job without this information And I have a right to my medical record. Very frustrating. I did also email the regional manager and another higher level manager and have not received any response as of yet.

Planned Parenthood Federation Of America [PPFA] not the best place for such a serious thing

Looking through all the reviews, I become more and more sure that they are scammers.
If you deal with them you will lose money and time and will get nothing but a headache instead.
If you want to co-parent, this website is not the best place for doing it. Unfortunately, it's more serious than you think, and you will have to pay more money to find a really interested person. Not on this website. All you can find here are pervs who don't understand what this website was basically made for.
So don't waste your time, look for co-parenting somewhere else.

Planned Parenthood Federation Of America [PPFA] horrible service, waste of time and money

I made an appointment for birth control implant over the phone, and been told there was nothing I need to pay attention to prepare for my appointment. After arrived at my appointment time, I waited 2 hours before I even get to see the doctor. The doctor refused to give me the implant because I had unprotected sex prior to the appointment. This part I understand but what upsets me is that this information should have been given to me while I was making my appointment or anything during the 2 hours while I was waiting for the doctor. They even filed the claim to my insurance company and I have to pay $70 for no service and waste of time! I never been to a healthcare place so unprofessional. I would never go to planned parenthood again or recommend it to anybody! You are better off just going to a gynecologist

Planned Parenthood Federation Of America [PPFA] customer service

So I called [protected] to update them on a referral I had to have in hand. The girl who picked up was sooooo rude. It was through the Kaiser Referral line. Mind you, I am only updating them with my referral number (what they told me to do). So the girl asks me, "Did your insurance fax it over to us?" I replied, "I don't believe so, when I made the appointment the person who scheduled me in just told me to call in saying I have the referral in my hand, should I tell my insurance agency to fax it over?" Then this broad says, "I ONLY ASKED YOU ONE QUESTION! YOU DIDNT HAVE TO MENTION ANYTHING ELSE. I ONLY ASKED ONE SINGLE QUESTION" I was sooooo pissed! How rude! Why are you in the healthcare industry if your ### is sooooo rude? I wanted to slap her through the phone. Anyways, called back and a very nice man helped me. It took only 5 minutes for the whole thing. As for the other girl, she needs to take some customer service classes. That;'s not how you talk to patients. -__-

Planned Parenthood Federation Of America [PPFA] withholding refills for birth control

My first experience with PP has been awful and it finally came to a head yesterday.

Yesterday, I had a horribly upsetting experience with a PP in Western NY in West Seneca. Back in July, a very nice NP there wrote me a script for birth control with 12 refills. She said she'd see me again after a year. I pay cash, by the way. I also purchase my pills full price from them. Every time I go in for pills, I have a bad experience, but yesterday was the absolute worst!
I'm 34 and fit with no medical problems. I have one child.
The first problem was when I was rudely asked if I brought a carseat to strap my 4 yr old into. Why would I? I'm here for my pill refill AGAIN. I told the front desk that already.
The next problem was that they supposedly didn't have my pill in brand name anymore. I told the woman that I have fewer side effects on the brand name and would like my remaining refills sent to Rite Aid. Soon after, an angry nurse came out to tell me that generic and brand name are the same. When I tried to explain my experience, she stopped me and said "I'm not going to get into a debate with you". She treated me like I was an idiot. Lady, I've been on different variations of the pill since 1996.
Then she tells me that Rite Aid is going to charge me $70. So what?! PP charges $32, so that felt more like bullying. Why did this nurse care anyway? I was given the option before to take it to a pharmacy. I stupidly chose to buy from them. Lesson learned.
Then this angry nurse comes back and tells me that I don't have any refills left anyway, that they can only sell me one more pack, and if I want more I'd have to make an appt to see the Dr again. I showed her the original script, that I keep in my purse, and she told me it was voided. I tried to argue that the script has 12 refills, but this nurse in pigtails was adamant that the NP made a mistake and my script is void. I got so angry that I ripped it up in front of her and left without any pills.
This experienced ruined my entire weekend. I go through this every few years just to get my birth control. I need it for lifelong endometriosis more than I need it to prevent pregnancy.
I'm going to another afiliated PP tomorrow evening to see if I can talk with someone there about this incident. I thought the point of PP was access to birth control. I also thought they were advocates for abused women, but I was clearly bullied by a nurse acting outside of her scope of practice. I hope the office in Tonawanda will take my problem seriously, and I hope this angry, young nurse gets reprimanded.
Being denied birth control from Planned Parenthood is truly ironic, especially since I paid for that script. I know never to buy my pills from PP ever again. I'll take it to a real pharmacy. I may even move my business back to urgent care or try illegally ordering online and cut out the hateful middle man.

Planned Parenthood Federation Of America [PPFA] poor scheduling

As I sit in the waiting room at planned parenthood I look around and count 8 other people waiting along with me. Two people egg up to ask when they'll be seen & they've been waiting for over an hour. My complaint is not the service but for the doctor. She should not have to be overbooked particularly on a Saturday. A two hour WAIT time is unacceptable in anyone's lives. Scheduling should be handled better with profiencientcy and time allowing. I feel terrible not for these people going on a two hour wait but for the doctor having to see the 8 disgruntled patients. No one should be booked like this. It's no way to run a business.

Planned Parenthood Federation Of America [PPFA] incompetence

I have been going to the Planned Parenthood locations throughout Houston, TX since 2008. I've had nothing but good experiences with the Rosenberg location until it closed it's doors, and with the Northwest location for a quick arm implant check when I thought it had moved. However, I went to a location closer to my new job this year and it has not been good. It is time for my implant removal and I was a bit nervous, since this particular implant had given me a scare earlier because I thought it had moved. Everyone acknowledged that I was nervous and scared but were sweet and reassuring, something I completely appreciated. But when the RN came in, it changed. Upon me mentioning I was nervous, she immediately and bluntly said she would not provide removal services and would reschedule me. I smiled thinking it was a "toughen up" tactic and I told her I'd be fine. She said, "no I'm serious. I will not see you." I told her that I would go through the procedure because I know it was necessary and reiterated that regardless of it being done that day or another, it wouldn't change my apprehensiveness. She said okay and I laid back for her to start the procedure process. She felt around and could not find my implant. I told her that with my previous experience (talking with the last RN-Northwest) that I might need to have an X-ray to determine the location before the process. She continued to feel around and said she thinks she found it. I told her that it could be my vein. She said, "yeah, I know but this could be it." And she made a "pinching" motion with her fingers as to find and grasp my implant then she quickly drew with pen where she felt my implant was. I'm ready to start and have this process over and she numbs me and starts. After awhile, I start to feel some pain, a cut if you will. She tells me she is having trouble finding it and does another incision! By now I'm praying this to be over and for her to find it and close me up. After 10 minutes, I am so swollen, she cannot continue with the procedure and closes me up and says she's going to make a call to the surgical doctor for further instructions. :( She comes back and is very apologetic, telling me this is her first failure case. Not that I was the failure but that she was at the procedure and she followed it that she liked the challenge and felt she could do it! I'm sorry but I'm not a guinea pig to perform challenged work on. She said she'd call me with the surgery date and that the procedure was free of cost since it was a failure. I went to get reimbursed but since I had a full exam, I ended up paying a difference! They initially charged me for the procedure and said anything else would be extra but after the procedure, the RN told me I'd get refunded, which ended up going to other costs...I'm fine for paying what I rightfully owe. I just think the miscommunication would've been cleared up between front desk and the RN prior to me leaving. So I leave and am told not to do heavy lifting, which in my profession, I use my arms-massage. So I told my boss I couldn't massage and I went back the next day to get a doctors note, the RN came out wondering why I'd need a note. I told her because I can't lift heavy things or so I thought. She asked surprised, you lift heavy things? She even called me by the wrong name, this previously very apologetic woman. I also asked her if there was an appointment for me to get surgery. She said she hadn't heard back but would call me later. That evening, she called with a date and time, lets say Friday at 9 am because the Monday availability was too soon for the surgery, 7 days from the original failure. And tells me I'll get a confirmation email shortly with pre-surgical instructions. I never get an email and call them after 2 days (which all calls are directed to a call center, regardless of differentiating numbers online for each location). I am told there is NO appointment for me at all! So I ask if Monday was still available, I'd like that slot instead. I was told I'd get a return call. Nothing. I call back with the reply they'd call me and can't submit another request since I already had one out but they'd note I called and that I'd receive a call with the appointment date and time. Two days pass and no call. So finally Monday, I call once more. It's been a week by now, and they don't have me still in the appointment book. Of course, I feel frustrated and my arm still sore. It was horrific in the beginning with bruising extending almost into my arm pit from mid forearm-mind you, the implant is the size of a small match stick. It is still discolored, the length of the long side of a credit card, maybe half inch longer. It hurts to move my inner arm into lateral flexion. There is discomfort or pain when I apply deodorant, try closing the clasp to a back hinge bra, reaching up in my closet to hang clothes or close my trunk. I do perform other daily tasks but utilize my other NON-dominant hand as much as I can. It is so tender to the touch I cannot even rest with my arm laying on me. Any pressure is painful. I take care of it as told to on the "home care" sheet. I finally get through on the phone and am told the appointment is the same Friday, but an hour later. I am content and relieved to finally have it removed and for someone to look inside to see if there is any potential damage, after all my arms are my livelihood. I receive a confirmation email stating the appointment is 2 hours before the agreed time! So I call back since it conflicts with my availability, someone has to get my child to school and I can't drop my child off during closed hours! They tell me it's the only one they have available. It took so long to schedule this in, same week no less. So now I must find a sitter or someone to take my child to school so I can be getting this surgery which I do not intend on missing, but if all fails, I'll have to reschedule and good luck with that being a quick process. There's been about 10 calls from the start of this hectic journey to today! And it's not even over! I am not sure what route to take other than write a review. I did request a "suggestion" phone line on my last phone conversation but was told that I can do so in the office at my appointment. I think this RN could benefit from some more training in ethical practice and physical removal. If you can't do something, it's best to play it safe and refer me out. With the pain, I missed 5 days of work, plus I have two days off on top of that. It's been a very long week. I return tomorrow and hope my arm doesn't give me any problems! The day of surgery is a day I'd usually work and so is the following day I'll be using for healing. So it's a total of 7 days of compensation lost, and that is if I don't need to extend it due to not being able to flex my arm to perform my job. I just hope there is no permanent damage and I am not getting this implant again. I have had this procedure done all at the Rosenberg location with no hitch, successful implant, waited 3 years, successful removal and replacement. If there was a risk of it moving since then, a better judgment should have been made by the practicing professional. I practice ethics and always work in my scope of practice, not try to over "challenge" myself. She has trusting patients, who look to her with her title as experience and expertise. I just plan on changing for a more non-invasive method of birth control so I won't be in this situation again. Just be careful and I hope this helps someone in any way, be it better educating or being firm in your fears-they are there to SAVE you! The location is Southwest Health center on Bellaire in Houston. RN's name starts with a 'T' and she is of Asian decent. I don't want to name her out of preventing shame, securing some dignity. But do your research and be careful. This is not to slander anyone. I stated ALL facts and just want learning to come from this headache.

Planned Parenthood Federation Of America [PPFA] rudeness

The Decatur Planned Parenthood has extremely rude staff. I think someone needs to ask them to search themselves and understand why they chose to be part of the healthcare industry to begin with. If you don't like helping people, you should probably find a different line of work. They are really rude across the board, but the fat blonde with all the make up, is the worst.

Planned Parenthood Federation Of America [PPFA] shaming from ultrasound technician

This is a late complaint, but I'm in the recovery stage (emotionally) of an abortion. I was so upset, I wrote down everything that happened that day in a note, so that I could inform someone one day.
In early 2013, I made an appointment with PP Pasadena for a pregnancy termination at 9 weeks. I was walked through the process of vital sign readings, meeting with the nurse to discuss why I needed a termination (I have stage 4 SEVERE chronic kidney disease and only 25% kidney function left)
No problems up until then, the staff was extremely considerate and sympathetic to my situation of my husband and I wanting the baby, but my health being in mortal danger.
That is until it came time for the ultrasound of the baby. I explained my situation to the ultrasound tech, who brings in a senior ultrasound tech to hear my situation, apparently she also suffers from kidney disease( albeit a much earlier and less severe stage than mine) At that point I was feeling absolutely SHAMED, put on the spot and upset, this was already an emotional and scary process for me.
During this 15 minute conversation, this woman told me that I should just keep the pregnancy (which I appreciate her trying to discourage anyone who has an abortion for irresponsible reasons) that I was over exaggerating my medical condition, and that if she were in my position, she would never get a termination. It was just awful. I was so shaken that when the time came for the procedure I left, in an upset state. I since had the termination procedure surgically though UCLA women's center under the monitor of a hospital.

This whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

Planned Parenthood Federation Of America [PPFA] horrible customer service

I've been going to Planned Parenthood for over two consecutive years now for my birth control shot. I just recently got health insurance under Obama Care. I went three months ago, using my insurance for the first time. I asked about the insurance over the phone before I drove down there for my appointment. I was told my insurance was accepted. I arrived and was told I couldn't be seen that day because the doctor couldn't 'work on me' with the insurance I have. So I rescheduled for a new day. It's hard for me to schedule an appointment in the first place because of work, and finding child care for my four year old. I went back on my rescheduled day, and walked out unseen that day because the lady at the counter couldn't find my insurance. I talked with her over the next THREE days, she then told me they DID accept my insurance but they couldn't figure out how to find it or use it, but I was scheduled another appointment and given my shot for free. I signed a waiver stating so. I now, three months later, due for my next shot, called to make an appointment. I called twice on two different days trying to schedule an appointment, during business hours and the phone just rang and rang, my call never got picked up. I finally get a hold of a person and am immediately put on hold for 10 minutes. For the two years I've been coming here, I have scheduled an appointment every time. This time, a very unpleasant sounding lady tells me they do this on a walk in basis. I'm confused, but ok whatever, ill walk in. Before I waste my time driving down there, I ask her about my insurance. I told her I had issues using it last time, I wanted to make sure everything was going to be ok with it this time. I was told very rudely that no, they do not accept my insurance. I tried to explain to her that I was told by another employee last time that my insurance was accepted. She kept cutting me off until I finally told her thanks anyway. I called back and asked by name for the lady who helped me last time, I was put on hold for about 5 minutes and the same rude lady picked the phone back up and told me she was with a patient and could she get my name and phone number and would have the lady call me back. I gave her the information and the call was ended. I then immediately called my insurance provider to see if they could tell me if planned parenthood accepted my insurance. The lady told me yes, they do accept this insurance. I told her my issue, and she asked me if I could hold and she was going to call them. She asked to talk to the manager and left a message with him. I never received a call back from planned parenthood, and called back again today. I spoke with a different lady this time, and she transferred me to the manager, she said he was walking in the office as she was transferring my call. It rang maybe twice and went to voicemail. I left a message with my name and phone number asking him to call me back. Have not received a call back and I left the message 4 hours ago. I am SO disgusted with this customer service. They sure showed me they don't care about me or my business, and I have taken my business elsewhere. The customer service given to me was unacceptable. I work in customer service and I KNOW if I treated someone the way I have been treated, I would be getting complained against, and at the least written up by my supervisor.

I've been going to this Planned Parenthood for over a year now, and my birth control had been costing $40 every three months, as I'm on the Depo shot. Everytime I've been there they've tried to get me to register for health insurance but I'm not eligible as I'm not a resident of Pennsylvania. The time I was there three months ago for the shot, they tried to...
