The absolute worst company ever
The absolute worst company ever. If I could give them 0 stars I would. Ive been waiting for a refund of my own money that I paid, for a month. They have told me multiple times that it shouldnt have taken this long but yet no one has a solution. *** called and it sends you to an automated message where they are supposed to call you back and *** never received a phone call. They are just ignoring my emails now. Unbelievable service and they should be reported for scamming people. They are withholding my money when I have on emails that they would etransfer it to me. Save yourself any headache and never use this company.

They are a ***, i cancled my account and they have kept chargung me up toi 600$ in late payment fees without me knowing after they toild me my account was closed and that they owed me money and would deposit it in my account. their phone support goes to another company that they know is no help and cmpltely confusing. im filing a police report and thinking of going to the news, im so furious right now
WOW DO NOT GET THIS CARD. To start, it's 58 dollars for the card and not only that, they charge you an additional 6 dollars monthly for the card, which amounts to 120 dollars a year, which is outrageous. I had this card for only three weeks and then closed it down. They make it seem as if I will get my deposit back in 60 days, but after reading other reviews, I'm not counting on it. It hasn't been reported to the credit bureau as they promised it would be. The way I see this card is that they are only in it for themselves, providing lots of misleading information. For example, I was told there would be a flat rate of 5 dollars for a cash advance, but when I actually did it, I was charged 10 dollars. Additionally, I'm dealing with trivial charges even though my account is paid in full. I'm also told there's a 5 dollar fee to close the account, and while you wait 60 days, you can't access your funds, but they still charge you the 6 dollar monthly fee. Again, DO NOT GET THIS CARD, it seems to me they are out to ruin your credit, not help it. They never increase your limit as other companies do. Believe me, Capital One is a much better card for building your credit.
This company is a ***! The took my $300.00 never sent me a card. Finally, I was able to get them to agree to Plastk refunding me my money, but it was going to take up to 30 days. It is now going on 36 days and everyone is giving me the run around. They have a rewards system, but its only one point per dollar spent.I was looking at small appliances on their rewards page, and youd need about 300, 000 points for a blender.That means youd have to spend nearly a third of a million dollars to qualify for that reward . Lol.They do have a good app, easy to apply payments.Ive had the card since February, but none of my payments have been reported to the credit bureau, which is frustrating since I got the card to rebuild credit.Also was promised 5000 bonus reward points for signing up which were supposed to be applied to my points account within 3 months of receiving the card. Still not in there.
Took 6 months to add to credit file. Now every month they s*** up the balance and it drops my credit by 15 pts or so. I call and the say yes sorry we made an error again it will take about 30 days to fix and the refuse to cancel the card by phone and don't respond by email. Stay away!

I have had the worst experience ever. I applied for a card to rebuild my bad credit. I sent the $500 at the end of July. I ran into financial troubles and requested to cancel my application and refund my deposit [Aug 3rd]. I was informed it would take a month to be refunded minus a $5.00 admin fee. I wasn't happy but didn't know what else to do, so apologize for situation and patiently waited. I was told at beginning of Sept. I won't get anything back till Oct 6th. I think it's ridiculous and fraudulent! Do not apply for anything through Plastk or CreditGenius[website that lead me to Plastk] It's a scam! P.s. I will follow up to let you know if I received the money back.
Avoid Plastk! This company is *** I cancelled my account because I didnt need the card anymore. They asked me to wait 60 days before they refund my security deposit. It is now 6 months since I cancelled my card - My money has still not been returned, I have contacted them several times and they just keep making excuses (the usual 'I have sent your request to management' excuse). This has been a very stressful process with absolutely no support from Plastk so far aside from what I have researched and tried to find online. As I am writing this I have been waiting over 30 minutes for their stupid chat bot to answer me or for an email in return. The extra frustrating part of this is it is a government recommended site. So you think it would feel safe and secure to go through the process but alas. I am not tech savvy however I use a computer daily for business and school and this has easily been the most diappointing and frustrating process.

They do not pick up their phone and their email is just a turn style of agents who just pretend they don't know what your last email said and make you explain from scratch over and over. My credit score dropped over 100 points after they reported false information and I have been fighting now to get the discrepancy fixed which takes months. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

I cancelled my card in January and requested my $300 deposit back. Jan 27 They confirmed via email the cancellation was in progress and I had to wait 60 days. I followed up by phone, no reply and no voice mail. I sent an email Mar 30. No reply. I followed up again Apr 14. Apr 18 I got a call telling me they were having trouble e-transfering the money to my gmail account. I asked for a cheque. They told me they can't issue cheques. So I gave them my hotmail account, I was told it would be transferred that evening. Naturally, it did not arrive. It's April 28 and I have not been able to reach them by phone, email, their chat support, and *** DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS COMPANY.

This is a very dirty company. Hard to believe they get promoted and recommended on site's such as ***. Some reviewers of this card say they report to "credit bureaus", that is a lie. They CLAIM to report only to equifax. Originally got charged for a replacement card, which I was told by the agent the first replacement is "free". Glitches with rewards points and they just vanished. *** and dime you on fees, for absolutely everything. Annual fee PLUS an additional fee every month. Dreading closing this account and seeing how long I have to wait for my security deposit to come back. Wish I could just transfer those funds to my balance and end this horrible relationship. Stay away.

This company is a complete *** . I will never recommend them to anyone. I sent them my security deposit and found out that you have to pay the full amount to have the credit limit you have requested. They don't tell you that when you sign up for the card. I emailed them about canceling the account immediately and they said that they would refund my deposit minus $5 dollars for the administration fee which is fine but I have not received my deposit back yet. It has been over a week since I canceled the account which I was told it would take 5-7 days for my refund. This company will never get my business again and if I do not receive my money back I will be filing a claim with the Complaintsboard.com and also getting a lawyer involved as well as my bank

After I missed my payment, it now stated on my credit report, I owe $ *** and my status is missed payments. Which cut my score down in half. I inquired to cancel my card and received a response asking why. Upon replying, I never heard back. 3 days later, when trying to sign into my account, it states there is no login iD attached to my email. I never received a reaponae back on whether they were cancelling my card and/or account and what needs to be paid ext. This company is a ***; if anything, it damages your credit more than helps you build it up.

Every dollar spent will give you one point, and I think that's also great.Second, they allow you to have a low limit and this is also good and will allow you to rebuild your credit once they start reporting to EQ.The only real issue is customer service, and that they are a new company, but be warned if you have any issues with your account such as fraud, or need to speak to someone this is where you get into trouble, had some theft on my card, some online scam shop took two payments of around 70.00, and one for 9.00, and was told chargebacks will take 120+ days, and honestly, I have my doubts that I will see that money again. There customer service is 2/5 at best, and they are closed on the weekend so if you run into an issue you are done for !My advice to anyone getting a card with Plastik would be to keep your credit limit low, don't run into any issues, and stay under the radar with this card and build your credit. Once your score is high enough, send a letter and tell them to use your deposit to clear what you owe and get a normal card with the big five."

I signed up for secured card back in May this year and sent in my $500 security deposit. After weeks of waiting for a card, I emailed to ask about an ETA. Every time it was "sorry, there's an issue with card makers" and "we will expedite this and have it to you by next week". After almost 2 months of waiting, I decided to cancel the card, as I was sure it would never arrive. I was told that the process to cancel takes about 30 days and then the refund of $495 ($5 administration fee, whatever) would be processed. Nope. All of a sudden it turned into "No, it's actually 60 days to process". End of September rolls around and what do I get? A notification from Equifax that an account has been opened in my name and it's from Plastk. WITH A CHARGE! I had never even been issued a card! How could there be a charge? Well, they had decided to forget my cancellation and go ahead and continue with the card issuing without my knowledge. I email relentlessly to try and get this solved and every time I got the same answer "we are expediting this request, don't pay attention to the *** account. Just request it to be removed" What kind of answer is that? Now today: Still no refund, The account is still on my *** report, AND they have reported a late payment on the phantom amount that is "owed" on this card I have never used or physically even seen as it was never sent! Avoid at all costs. Please. ***. Absolutely disgusting

Plastk Secured Credit Card
I used my Plastk secured card frequently and without issue up until the problems with DC Bank. Since then I have been unable to clear up my credit report that shows nonpayment, even though they froze all ability to pay. I have emailed numerous times to have my account struck from Equifax and TransUnion and to have my security funds returned. On Oct 2 2023 I was advised to wait the full 60 days and have heard nothing back since. I emailed for followup on Oct 31 2023 and again on Nov 29 2023. Nothing. I just want this resolved.

Been trying to contact them since the notice on August 30th about DC Bank canceling their service. They claimed to be moving to another bank and it's now November 1st, no new bank/no services/no access to my money.
BBB now rates them an F.
There has been no update to the communication, we, their customers cannot access our accounts and the cards haven't worked since they went down.
Emails go unanswered. I can only assume they went out of business.

I have been fighting with this company to get a refund of my security deposit and other funds for about five months now. They keep giving me the same excuses saying they have escalated it to their management team and when they have further information they will get back to me, they never bother to get back to me. I have gone ahead and said I will take them to court they don’t seem to care file a report with the Canadian anti-fraud center. They don’t care. I messaged the CEO of Plastik through LinkedIn and he blocked me without even a reply to my message, I messaged the company through Facebook and they have blocked me there now too so they won’t reply to any of my messages. All I have is email to contact them now and they still keep giving me the same answers. I am out hundreds of dollars these guys need to be shut down as a company and the authorities need to step in and do something for all of us. Canadians that have been scammed by this company, I waited the 60 days as instructed which is ridiculous for closing any account because once you lock your card, no new charges can go on it well, like I said, it’s now been five months, and I still keep getting the same basic reply with no resolution. I wish somebody would start a class action lawsuit of some kind to give us some kind a hope that all of us that have been scammed could somehow get our money back.

So, I send security deposit of 3500 back in december 2022, card never mailed to me for over 2 months, so I requested to cancel they account, they keep on telling me its getting shipped this sunday, next sunday for 2 months straight, I ended up canceling it march 8th 2023, then told to wait 60 days cooling period which ended on 8th may 2023 and still havent got my refund its almost 60 more days. Same reply we are trying to resolve and fake apologies.

My husband sent in a $500 deposit for his card and asked for it to be cancelled and returned in December 2022. It is now almost June 2023 and they still haven’t returned the funds. They make excuses and we are still waiting. When I requested to cancel my $1000 card - they also refused and will not send me my deposit back. We are now out $1500 + and they keep taking a monthly fee as well.

I applied for the card back online in august 2022. No card was issued so I requested the initial $500 my security deposit. I was told to wait until October for the refund. Weekly calls and emails with no real response after the October deadline. They just keep apologizing and it will be resolved shorty. Many calls and emails going back and forth. It’s now May 2023 and still nothing. The same wording from each representative that I’ve spoken to, no real resolution.

This company is a fraud. They issue a card when you send them deposit funds. When you cancel the card they make you wait 60 days before the account is closed. Once the 60 days is up, they start making excuses as to why they can't refund the money. They have been telling customers for several months that they are having issues with their payment provider. Each follow up will only result in them saying we are looking into this and we apologize. We will contact you with further updates... they never contact you back and you have to reach out to them time and time again... just to get the same BS answer. The customer service line is full of people that have no idea what they are doing and their managers are complete [censored]s... each one of them.

Plastk Finanicial offer Secured Credit Cards.Sent Plastk Financial at $650.00 E-transer Jun 1st 2022. Recieved an e-mail stating that the transaction was I have not received my secured credit card to date. I have contacted Plastk on several occasions to determine the situation. I have discussed a refund which takes 30 Days and the customer charges $5. Latest update I received from Plastk with an update on when my card would be sent was on 12th July stating that the card would be *** business days. I am yet to recieve my card, and do not trust this company and I am therefore requesting an immediate refund with no $5 fee based on the fact the company cannot and has not provided it's product and or service and has nothing to do with me.Account number has not been allocated as they have not actually opened my account or issued card, but have confirmed receipt of funds and communicated when prompted with me on an update.Dispute is simply deposit paid for secured credit card on June 1st 2022 and no card received. Full refund of $650.00 requested.

I had reached out to Plastk to close my secured account and to have my money refunded on august 15th 2022, they had told me I had to wait 60days for a refund. Which is fine, the 60 days came and no refund was sent. I reached out Oct 18th, Oct 27th, Nov 3 and was told that it was sent to the accounting and department, they could not tell me a date when it would be processed & again on Nov 11 (which I have not received a reply) I would like to have my money refunded and I feel that they provide false information on when a person closes an account.

I have asked MANY times now to close the account and refund my money in full since there was no card and no services rendered, they ignored me. No refund or services have been delivered to this date. I applied for a credit card threw credit karma. I was approved by Plastk for a pre paid credit card. I put a small amount on the card, and I used the small amount I loaded on the card. I then tried to cancel the card due to the payment procedure not working, it took me more then 20 attempts to pay a balance they said I owed. Once I finally got in contact with Plastk to cancel the pre paid card they began giving me the run around, and telling me I have to add money to the card to cancel it. I was told it takes 60 days to cancel the card and said card must have a positive balance to cancel. Their system is faulty, Ive notified them of that issue. They will not cancel the card and continue to tell me to add money on a card I do NOT want use! They have damaged my credit to the point where I can not purchase a home for my self and my family. *** had many conversations over email and they just continue with the I must add money on the prepaid card for 60 days to cancel. They are pressuring me into spending my hard earned money to cancel a pre paid card.

On October 2 2022 I sent a payment of $500 for a secured credit card. After three weeks of not hearing anything back and not being able to call I reached out via email to cancel the order. On July 11th, 2022, I registered for an account with Plastk for a secured credit card and sent them a certain amount in Canadian dollars through E-transfer. After a couple of minutes, I was reading additional reviews and then decided to check Complaintsboard.com. I discovered that they do more harm than good, so I decided to cancel my subscription. This happened within a few minutes and before they even created an account. I started sending emails immediately, and they confirmed that the account is cancelled and I will receive my money back in a month, with only a 5 CAD processing fee being deducted (all communication documented in emails).
I sent a reminder a week ago, and they confirmed that the money will be sent. Now the money has not yet been received in my account, and they said they will escalate the issue to management. I asked them to copy me on communications with the manager to be aware of what's happening, however, I received no response back.

After sending them $300 as a "deposit" and not realizing that the $300 was now my "Credit limit", I asked for them to close the account and return my $ (asked within an hour of applying). Their rule is they won't return the $ for 60 days and less a $5 administration fee. It has now been 60 days plus three weeks and every time I email them, they blame a "backlog on refunds". The customer service team says they are not responsible for issuing a refund and it is the problem of another department and not their fault. All I keep getting is "I'm sorry". and no funds returned. After me threatening to write a *** review, last week customer service finally said they "re-escalated my concern to the relative department to credit back my refund on a priority basis". 1 week after supposedly " escalating my concern", no refund. These guys are professional thieves. I'm reading reviews now and TONS of people seem to have had the same problems! SHAMEFUL PRACTICE for a supposedly *** company.

I contact again , couldnt up date me with a time frame, waited another week or so , asked for an up date , waited another week , contacted again same response. Paid $300 for a security deposit for a secured credit line for both myself and my husband. When I called customer service inquiring about it, they denied knowledge of that card. After missing a payment, my credit report showed I owe money with missed payments status, halving my score. I requested to cancel my card and got asked why. After replying, I got no further response. Three days later, my account login failed, saying no ID was linked to my email. I received no confirmation about card or account cancellation or what was owed. This company seems to damage credit rather than help build it. On January 11, I got a response about card cancellation. By June 28, they still report missed payments to the credit bureau, while I can't log in as my account seems non-existent. Despite being told of cancellation in January, my score dropped by 300 points. Now I must dispute this with the credit bureaus.

I sent money to Plastk on July 28 2022 and contacted them that day for a refund. I have gotten an email saying it will happen in 30 days but still havent gotten it. I have 30 emails and number of phone calls getting the same thing its pass to senior management and they havent gotten back to us on that matter. Well reach out to you by the end of the day. We have back loads and lots of refunds, computer problems etc etc. please help me resolve this

I requested a refund of my $300 security deposit. They initially said they would refund within 30 days. That came and went I re contacted them and they could not explain why it had not been transferred back and said it would take an additional amount of time. After numerous online conversations - the phone number they provide sends you right back to online so that is THE ONLY way you can reach an "agent".It is now October 13, 2022 and I still do not have my $300. They are keeping it for no reason I am aware of. I would like my refund back.I've uploaded proof that I e transferred and will send emails should you require. Please let me know.This company is not cooperating. My first request for a refund was declined and was told to leave the funds even though I couldn't even complete opening the account. I had email correspondence several times a day with what was clear several people literally begging for my money back from Aug 12-August 23 each time essentially being told NO. Finally August 23 they confirmed they had suspended the account, that was never fully created to begin with. I was first told that I would receive my refund in 30 days, I was then told by someone else it would be 60 days minus a $5 fee. I didn't receive a card, the account was never fully completed but they are charging a $5 fee for doing absolutely nothing. Today is October 15th 2022 and obviously I haven't received a refund or any further communication that one will be sent. I just want my money back and to be done with all of this. This company has done this to many many many people and it needs to stop.

I decided to cancel the card and was owed a $refund. I also requested a refund for a $*** fee I was charged. This company failed to close my account and then in 2022 negatively reported that I missed 2 payments on this cancelled account. I am considering *** them for damages now as they have seriously impacted my credit score, I have lost *** points in 2022 because of them. They need to fix the credit reporting, I cancelled the account before they were even reporting to the credit bureaus in ***. I want a refund of the $I am owed as well as the $*** I was charged before this company even offered what was stated in their literature (to help build your credit score). I want written confirmation that my account is closed with them. Their representative threatened that I would have an impact to my score If I cancelled in order to force me to keep the account open so they could *** $per month. I opened this pre-paid credit card online and deposited $300 into it. Never received any statements or emails. Everytime checked online balance showed 0. Then suddenly late payment shows on ***.. i try to call them and the only way to communicate is via email.. I was informed they have monthly fees and they are charging interest on it and they are sorry their online system is not updated for me to see that as balance shows 0.. nor any statement is mailed out or emailed out.. I disputed with the manager *** who called me and i requested for her to cancel my card immedietly and because I pre-paid funds into it, they have already deducted their fees and interest so therfor should not report late payment on ***, she assured it will be fixed, however to this day it's still reporting as late payments and keeping my credit score which I have worked so hard to rebuild. My credit score should be around 700 and is sitting at 649 due to this. I am being denied by my bank for mortgage until my score improves. I am attaching the email communication with Plstk and manager *** as a proof that this was resolved. Of the $300 deposit i pre-paid into the card they refunded me only $170 and after 10 months while brusing my credit. Please help and thank you.

On Friday, May 6, 2022 I applied for a Plastk secured credit card. After sending the $300 deposit through an email transfer, then they wanted me to go on their site and start the account, requiring my standard personal information. Their website wasn't working properly, I couldn't complete any of the application. I emailed their "support" and was told it was a system "glitch" and not to worry, as they received my deposit and would be sending a card in the mail. I don't understand how they can send a card to someone whose info they don't completely have.They don't even have all of my information, and nothing they had to say made any sense. I decided today, Monday, May 9, 2022, that I didn't want to proceed. I've tried multiple times to talk to some kind of customer service, none of whom could help me and kept giving a number to call that doesn't work. When I emailed their support, they just argued with me, until I simply demanded my money back. Then they basically *** me, telling me that I would be charged fees and it would be reported to the credit bureau.This is absolutely egregious, and I just want my money back. From what I've read online, this seems to be their game, so I'm asking for your help to resolve this, without further hurting my credit.Thankyou.

I contacted them after 3 weeks of not receiving my card & was told due to issues with the company that sends out the cards, there was a backlog which was causing the *** was asked to give them a bit more time & that it would be sent to me asap. Just contacted them today August 27 & was basically told the relevant department will be informed & again that my card should show up when next batch of cards is sent out "hopefully". Asked to speak to a higher up & was rudely redirected with nonsense about, me having done my research in regards to company & offered *** reward points instead of canecelling as I would have to wait 60 days for my refund upon cancelation. I finally ended the chat with the conclusion my application will be cancelled as I have no other choice, as I want my money back & rightfully so , it has been 60 days & still have not recieved a card or proper information in regards to delay.I also noticed this place, upon application acquires all your credit info by redirection with a statement saying " could not verify your info with ***." Then provides a link saying "plastik can verify you". It's very disappointing to see that this company has done this to others an has been around since 2019, & although,it seems to be taking advantage of low income people, it's still a viable company!

On April 20th 2022, I provided $1500 via interac e-transfer to Plastk Financial as the security deposit for my secured *** card. I confirm the transaction using the interac reference number they asked me to provide in their online portal. After it was confrimed, I was prompted via the online portal to complete *** verification, which I did. From April 21st 2022 - April 28th 2022 (the date I asked to cancel the account) I recieved two concernering errors, which were that my security deposit was less than the credit limit I requested (I requested $1500, and provided the same amount). The second error was that *** verification needed to be completed (I had already done this). I started to have a bad feeling, and also due to seeing previous review of others who had the same experience, I decided to cancel. April 25th 2022, I emailed Plastk and requested to cancel the account as you can't get through to a representative over the phone. (When you call it rings and rings and then you hear a message stating no one is available and to call back.) I was told via email that in order to cancel the annual fee + $5 monthly maitnence fee must be paid and can't be taken out of the $1500 security depoist. I was also advised there is a $5 admin fee which will be charged, so my total refund would be $1495. I paid the $54 on April 28th, and was advised my refund would be processed and recieved within *** business days. At this point my refund has not been recieved.

I have had the worst experience ever. I applied for a card to rebuild my bad credit. I sent the $500 at the end of July. I ran into financial troubles and requested to cancel my application and refund my deposit [Aug 3rd]. I was informed it would take a month to be refunded minus a $5.00 admin fee. I wasn't happy but didn't know what else to do, so apologize for situation and patiently waited. I was told at beginning of Sept. I won't get anything back till Oct 6th. I think it's ridiculous and fraudulent! Do not apply for anything through Plastk or CreditGenius[website that lead me to Plastk] It's a scam! P.s. I will follow up to let you know if I received the money back.
This is a very dirty company. Hard to believe they get promoted and recommended on certain websites. Some reviewers of this card say they report to credit bureaus, but that is not true. They claim to report only to Equifax. I was originally charged for a replacement card, despite being told by the agent that the first replacement is free. There have been issues with rewards points disappearing without explanation. They charge you fees for absolutely everything, including an annual fee plus an additional fee every month. I'm dreading the process of closing this account and am anxious about how long I'll have to wait to receive my security deposit back. I wish I could simply transfer those funds to my balance and end this dreadful relationship. My advice is to stay away.
I signed up for a secured card back in May this year and sent in my $500 security deposit. After weeks of waiting for a card, I emailed to ask about an ETA. Every time it was 'sorry, there's an issue with card makers' and 'we will expedite this and have it to you by next week'. After almost 2 months of waiting, I decided to cancel the card, as I was sure it would never arrive. I was told that the process to cancel takes about 30 days and then the refund of $495 (subtracting a $5 administration fee) would be processed. But no, suddenly the timeframe changed to 'No, it's actually 60 days to process'. As the end of September approached, I received a notification from Equifax that an account had been opened in my name by Plastk, and there was a charge on it! I had never even received the card, so how could there be a charge? Apparently, they had ignored my cancellation and proceeded with the card issuance without informing me. I sent emails relentlessly to resolve the issue, but the response was always the same: 'we are expediting this request, don't worry about the credit account. Just ask for it to be removed.' What kind of response is that? Now, I still haven't received a refund, the account remains on my credit report, and to add insult to injury, they've reported a late payment for the amount that is supposedly 'owed' on this card I've never used or even seen, as it was never sent. My advice is to avoid this company at all costs. The experience has been absolutely appalling.
