I notice this has been going on at leat since 2008, I just got caught, never heard of them, I just wanted to install a codec and ended with a $49 bill, very sneaky site and it preys on people who are tired and searching for solutions to their IT problems.
My Question is. HOW CAN THIS PRACTISE STILL BE GOING ON WHEN THERE IS SO MUCH EVIDENCE TO PUT THEM AWAY FOR LIFE. ...Not just here but on numerous other sites. They need to be closed down. Meanwhile they are making a fortune out of us suckers...That's the scary thing.

ah.. I thought I was the only one stupid victim of the ### site 'download-provider' ..
I thought I was making a payment for $1.99, but they charged me $54.64...
Currently, I'm trying to contact my credit card company to cancel the transaction but not sure how it will go.
It's not about money but about justice... I feel so angry..
Is there anyway I can get refund ?

I always check sites like this before giving my credit card information. Thanks so much!

Should lay complaints with the CC companies, this guy has to have a merchant account so the CC companies might as well be in on the fraud since they make their percentage on his sales.

I think I will get myself a gift card/credit card and spend the balance and then sign up for a whole lot of accounts at this company.

Avoid Download Provider completely and use The Pirate Bay.

Basically Download Provider indexes a great many things across the internet that are NOT available.
It makes you think they ARE available and you sign up, paying dollars.
When you are signed up, the search then takes you to... The Pirate Bay and tells you to search again!
All the stuff you wanted at first turns out to be NOT available.

It is a total scam, which the CC companies profit from.
Save your money, and maybe donate to PB!

Very strange! I could access the signup page accidentally. Once I signed me up and browsed a few files I could never find the login page again. It´s gone! If I had paid their membership I would have lost the money. It´s seems you must be part of their special whitelist to be able to return to ther site. By the way download-provider.com doesn´t exist anymore now their address is different. However they kept their well known brand name: download provider. Suggestion: keep away from them.

This website are totally scammer !
They charged me $39.95 USD few days ago, when I was asking them to cancel my membership
and request a full refunds, and guess what ?
THEY ASK ME TO PROVIDE A RECEIPT to show that I have purchased one of our membership plans.
I was like: WTF ? If I haven't purchased any one of the membership plans,
then how come I can still be able to use any features in the website ?
