My family and I were contacted by Jason Carlucci and Powerpack Moving & Storage and after giving them a complete inventory of our personal belongings we were giving a quote of just 4, 000. This quote was significantly less than any other company and we decided to go with Jason Carlucci and Powerpack moving and storage.
To secure the moving truck, Jason Carlucci asked us to pay a deposit of 1500 via venmo. THat was the first red flag we should have noticed. However, after paying the deposit Jason Carlucci told us that we would have an entire truck to move our 4bd house and that we would not have to share the truck with anyone else. We were happy to hear this news…. until our moving day.
The truck was to show up on our moving day at 8am. However it didn't show up until 12 noon. We immediately knew something was wrong the second the truck pulled up. Instead of a semi truck we had a 26ft truck pull up. Anyone who has ever moved knows that a 26ft truck is not big enough for a 4bd house.
We told the movers as soon as they got there that the truck was not big enough. Having to be out of our house that weekend we had no choice but to accept the truck. We figured for 4k we co0uld fit as much as possible and then get a second truck. That is when things got even worse.
We were told that not only was the 26ft truck all they had but that we could only use half of the truck. Even worse, we were told that instead of 4k that the total moving cost would be 13, 000. It was obvious at this point that it was a bait and switch.
My wife called Powerpack Moving and Storage and spoke with Jason Carlucci who told us there was nothing he could do and that he was "sorry." Jason Carlucci did nothing to try to fix the problem. FInally after pushing him for over 30 minutes did he promise a full refund. He was lying.
We moved 15 days ago and still have not received a refund. We have called and emailed Powerpack Moving and Storage and can't even get a live person on the phone. Jason Carlucci and Powerpack Moving and Storage ripped us off. They are scammers. They dont even own a moving truck but instead just get peo[ple to pay deposits and dont reply.
WE have contacted the FTC, the DOT, the BBB, Venmo and charged back from our bank. They all have said they have had numerous complaints from these scumbags. DONT DO BUSINESS WITH POWERPACK MOVING AND STORAGE OR JASON CARLUCCI. THey are liars, scammers, scumbags and if you take a minute to look up their name you'll see the reviews. We will get our money back through venmo and our bank but that won't stop Jason Carlucci or Powerpack moving and storage from ripping you off.
Desired outcome: FULL REFUND
WORST COMPANY EVER! They are not a moving company but they contract out to who knows to move your stuff, if your lucky enough to get your stuff. They take your money, leave with your belongings and then there is no contact from them. If you try to call their many phone numbers, leave messages or emails, no one responds. We have no idea where our belongings are, when or if they will ever be delivered. After packing up our belongings on a U-Haul and drove off, the man in charge who drove separately told us it would be another $1000 to have our belongings deliver. They are either scammers who steal your stuff, or they hold your stuff hostage until you pay them more money. Either way, it's got to be illegal and authorities need to take action against them. We have filed complaints with BBB, Federal Motor Safety Administration, ODOT, Florida and Ohio Attorney General's Office and will be calling the law enforcement if we don't receive a call from them or our stuff.
