Pubby is a book-reviewing platform for independent authors who publish their books on Amazon KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing).
For some reason, unexpectedly, they decided to ban us, because according to them, we were reading other authors' books 'too fast'.
When we tried to re-create an account and paid the full 1-year subscription ($240) + unlocked the 'Verified Purchase' option (you have to pay an extra $14.99 apart from your subscription if you want your book to be able to receive 'Verified Purchase' reviews), they banned us again after 14 days or so.
We asked for a refund and they told us that they have the right to ban anyone they want, whenever they want, without explaining why, and not issue a refund. They said that this is part of their TOS (Terms of Service).
This doesn't make any sense. These people need to be checked by someone.
We opened a case/dispute with our bank and we'll see how that goes. I don't recommend this unethical platform to anyone and hopefully, these people and the owner of the platform, Kristen Forbes, will eventually get what they deserve.
Even if you are a member (we were for a long time) and pay the full price with all the extras, their customer service is beyond awful.
Desired outcome: FULL REFUND
