Rainsoft RO system & business practices
We are a proud now retired military family of 20 years disabled veterans and never ever have we had to deal with such unjustified treatment. These people at Rainsoft are liars and scammers! Stay away from any sales pitch person walking around in Home Depot. We promise you, you will regret it. We are in the middle of a war with them and their lying staff...

I want to inform you guys that there is a business owner using rainsoft in south carolina. I worked there for a month training and never was compensated for the hours I worked. Also because of my disability, I was held back from graduating. The owner brought my adhd up in froknt of the girl taking training with me. She graduated in 2 wekeks. He also said he was going to bring me adhd meds that his wife used because he said mine wasnt working. I have filed a charge of discrimination against rainsoft. You guys should really keep tabs on the type of folks you let use your name rainsoft. This owner cussed me out using the lords name in vain. It was a hostile environment and im highly upset. Please get a ceo or vice president to contact me. I plan on suing for discrimination and wages lost and what it has done to me mentally. My name kis bryan smith phone [protected]

DO NOT buy from Rain Soft! Unfortunately the home we have lived in for 18 years has bad water. When our system we had died we rushed into calling Rain Soft without looking into reviews. The representative was very pushy and after testing our water explained we had the "worst water I have ever seen". Then stated we needed the biggest system they had. Okay, well shame on us but hold on a minute. During our conversation of how great of service we would get and the amazing warranties and yearly check ups. What he failed to say is that we had to call and ask when someone was coming to do a check up. And that will be every year! When you call you get the worst, rude service. We just had a leak and called for service, this system is only a year and half old and we had to pay $205.00 for a "service request" and then charged $15.00 for a new hose. This has been such a huge mistake and nightmare. Do not believe them when they say lifetime warranty! It doesn't exist, you pay for everything. In fact it's false advertising to say it comes with that when if fact that is not what they provide. Biggest rip off I've ever seen, and the sad thing is they are allowed to continue to steal and lie to people.

Water softening system.
Rain soft sold my mother a water softening system which soon became affective after several attempts of them trying to get it to work properly it never did they never returned any money she wanted to in-service they ended up putting a lien on her property for the money owed. I believe it to be a scam how do I can test this what I consider an unlawful lien placed on my elderly mother’s home?
Desired outcome: With a faulty equipment to be picked up in the lien removed from my mothers home.
The only thing I ask is going by the contract we already have where said that is finance with the agreed monthly payment
I was walking in Homeport in Florida, a lady approached me offering me a water test in my house. 5 days later I received the visit and they proceed to do the water test, when we see the water we feel that we have to buy it, but we were short on finance, the seller Noah Stewart assure us that we don't have to worry the company have a very good finance plan and can do small monthly payments. We immediately accepted, he took our information and state that after approval they will install the equipment. They run my credit on 2/15/23 and then showed up to installed 2/24/23. I asked them is the application approved? They said yes. But a few week after I started receiving letter via certified mail telling me that the credit wasn't approved. We call noah and he said that everything is fine, is been 3 month and I still receiving these letters. When I call costumer services parentally they don't find my account and they keep pretending they don't know and threating me that I have 30 day to pay the whole amount of 8,999. I asked them to came and pick up the equipment and they said I cant returned. Can someone explain me this nonsense. I know my rights and you were not supposed to do an installation prior credit approval. Is your mistake no mine, you have aval by your contract. I have the contract signed.
Desired outcome: if no welcome to m y house to pick up your equipment.
Rainsoft installation by Home Depot Plumbing Tech
Dec 2022. First let me say The Rain Soft water softener is great and works well but, the installation technician although friendly and worked hard failed to insulate the new pipes going through our attic and consequently the new pipes froze costing me $850 dollars to thaw and now the cost of getting them insulated. Nothing was said about insulating the...

One of the slim line sumps under my sink burst and flooded my kitchen. I reached out to the nearest dealer for a replacement that is located in Fresno, California. I live in Bakersfield, California. The lady has been nothing but rude. I have asked her to ship the part so I can replace it and she proceeds to tell me they have so send someone to come install it and wants to charge me over $350 to do so. I have told her several times that all I need is the slim line sump and that I have already removed the sump. I told her I am willing to pay for the part and shipping and she will not send it to me. So now I'm forced to look for replacement parts on EBAY, AMAZON, Let Go, ETC...
Desired outcome: My desired outcome is that someone reads this and finds a way to send me part so I can get my system up and running.
Water softener faulty installation caused major damage to my home
The unit was purchased December 2022, upon installation a pipe was cracked to my well pump. They came out and would not take accountability but did a temp fix. Unfortunately this is still leaking and due to the fact they did not insulate pipes that they placed through the ceiling of a bedroom we were remodeling and fully finished upon installation. Has caused extensive damage with mold due to the sweating of these non insulated water lines. My homeowners insurance cannot cover faulty contract work that caused this damage and I am now in absolute need to have this unit removed before it causes further damage and I need the bedroom damage compensated for. I have placed numerous calls that now go unanswered. Please help. This is my home. I am not a plumber and the valve they cracked will probably give way to far more damage if I try removing this. This newly remodeled bedroom is that of my 12 year old child. A closet with well pump access was built after this installation. This is a health hazard atop faulty contract work causing extensive damage. My phone number is [protected] Hope, my husband Matt [protected] email [protected]@gmail.com.
Desired outcome: Unit removed and damage to drywall and any other damage or mold found removed in full.
Revision it was 2021, my apologies.
Water conditioner unit ec4 and ultrefiner ii drinking water system
We bought the unit 2 years ago 8/2020 and have had trouble since. First by the salesperson giving us misleading information concerning whether we could use block or pellet salt he said both, the next service man we talked to said no block salt. The salesman also stated we could use any filters, not just theirs that were wrong, if you use another you void the warranty. After installation, we lost water pressure they came out said no you have great pressure. I said no we have lost the water pressure, he argued, and that was that. I have had an alarm going off now for a month on low salt we had salt in it, so I called the company 8/24/2022 they said the unit needs to have maintenance I said it's only 2 years old, I was told it needs maintenance every year for a tune of 239.00 and that is just the service call. The filters are 99.00 for the drinking unit alone. I was never told this when I purchased the systems. Now I have no water pressure like I use to and apparently the system is broke. I am on a fixed income and do not have 239.00 to pay plus more I know they will charge me. I bought this system for 6000.00 thinking it would last not fail after 2 years. I had asked them to take out the system after the year warranty and they said I was over the date. Now I have an unusable 6000.00 unit in my basement. I want this out of my house. I have never been so unhappy with a company. I want them to take it back and not finish out the payments, just take what I have paid for the 2 years we have had the unit.
Desired outcome: I would like them to settle for the amount I have paid for the two years and take back the unit and wipe out the rest of the credit card debt.
Platinum Vapor Barrier
Tim Hayes, a Rainsoft sales representative in Columbia, SC sold me a platinum vapor barrier for my attic. The receipt states 5500 sq ft. However, the actual sq ft are 3600. I was charged $18,792, but the actual cost for the job is $6200. I have actual measurements by a reputable insulation company. However, the Rainsoft manager negated my findings; and refuses to pay me $12000 I was overcharged. I contacted the CEO. and received no response to my claims.
Desired outcome: Refund for fraudulent charges of $12000
Water quality
We had just bought our home, first time home buyers in Florida. We had a gentleman knock on our door not even two weeks later offering to test our water. The results of the tests scared us into buying their equipment. Since we have small children we wanted to know our home was safe. We haven't even had the system for a year... we can't drink the water which was the whole reason we purchased it. The water gives us terrible headaches and makes us feel sick. Our skin and hair are dried out and damaged. The water tastes terrible and feels slimey on your skin when you shower. Finally I decided there was no point in paying 8k for a water system that obviously has no benefits. So I called was left on hold for 20 minutes Finally someone picked up I asked how I would go about returning the equipment. The woman on the phone said after 3 days the equipment was ours they won't take it back. I asked well what if the equipment I'd making my family sick? She instantly caught an attitude with me and demanded to know how their system could possibly cause us to get sick. Calling me a liar! So I gave her a brief explanation which she only responded with, you need to call the finance company and hung up. The customer service is embarrassing to say the least. I just want this system removed from my home. I don't care what they do with it beyond that!
Desired outcome: Close my account and take the system back !
Water softener, Cleanstart, and Airmaster
BEWARE.
Where do I start? The salesman. He came to the house to sell the rainsoft equipment. He tried to also sell us his book and some steaks. We foolishly bought the water softener, the airmaster, and the cleanstart for washer. He wanted to have them come install that evening. We asked to wait until the next day at least. When they showed up to install, they did not have all the equipment and didn't tell me until they had already started. During this installation, they ripped the door halfway off the dishwasher and hit the fridge, leaving a nice dent and scratch. They did reimburse us for the fridge door AFTER MIKE called us on a Saturday morning being extremely rude saying they didn't want to pay. Ihad to call the main office for them to do something. They installed the equipment they had on hand and said they would come back. When they came back, they were there until well after 10pm. (I do understand technical issues, I work in networking) However, they went to leave, and I had to point out to them that the lights weren't on for the airmaster, so they had tried to leave it unfinished. Soon after this, we noticed that the water was coming out as pure salt first thing in the morning. Turns out, they had installed the drainage pipe wrong, so it wasn't being cleaned out properly. They came back again to fix it and also found out that the cleanstart had not been working the entire time. So basically, we had been paying a substantial amount for equipment that never worked. Every time they came to our home, they broke something or did something wrong. I just looked inside the tank this morning and it is FULL of dirty water and no salt. This is their ‘finished' job. I'll post a picture if I'm able. This has been nothing but a hassle, and I sincerely wish we never got involved. Hopefully I can save others from making this same mistake, because the stress of this has been detrimental to our family. Please be careful. -HC
P.S. Waiting on MIKE's rude response. (He's so tough behind a phone or computer screen) "we tried multiple times to contact you" YES, yes you did. We begged for someone NOT affiliated with YOU to come fix it, because you have NO COMPETENT people. THEY BROKE EVERYTHING THEY TOUCHED, so OF COURSE we don't want to let them back into our home. If you couldn't get a FLORIDA rainsoft company to come, then you could have at least let us call a REAL plumber or electrician and covered the charges. You just didn't want them to tell us how bad you messed up.
UPDATE: They blew up my phone after this was posted to tell me to let them come get all their stuff and give us a refund. What about our time, stress, and mental destruction you caused us? How do you compensate for that? Definitely putting this review everywhere I can.
Desired outcome: For no one to ever make the same mistake we did. RAINSOFT OF THE WIREGRASS in enterprise AL
Equipment
I got the rainsoft last year of Oct and the salesman said that I don't have to pay interest and I'm paying for it. I also ask how long it take to pay for the equipment for $120 and he said 6 years and now it takes Goddamn 8 to 9 years. None of my family like the equipment. I would love if they take this back and they can take the money for what I pay. Pos equipment.

I moved in a year ago and the system was here. We've had heavy rains lately and the system won't stop leaking. So much so it jacked my water bill by more than 100 dollars. Now I have to pay that replace the floor and repaint. They told me I'd have to pay 200 to have it removed. I can't afford 200 with having six kids and only my husband working due to the pandemic. I need help. I can't keep pay extra for the system leaking and I don't want the foundation to my house ruined. I don't understand why I have to pay let alone so much to have a system thats not in my name and broke removed. when I called the local company they were so rude.
Worst service
Service/hidden fees
After dealing with a pushy representative we got the rain soft system for almost $6000. We wasn't told that it would cost us $100 annually for them to come out and check it, we didn't even know that we would have to have someone come check it until we got the call. We are military so we move constantly, I called to get it unplugged so we could take it with...

I took home a free water sample kit from my local BJ's . Submitted my sample in the package supplied and dropped it in the mail. Well I have had at least 50 calls from them in the past 60 days. They call multiple times each day. I have well water and am not interested in purchasing any type of treatment system as all well water needs sone sort of treatment. It came to the point that I have blocked the calls, however they have not mailed me concerning the sample. They are just out to sell something, they really don't care what it is so long as they can make a sale. I contacted the store from where the sample kit came from and explained to them what was going on lo and behold they still have the samples available as soon as you walk in. I give up.
rainsoft system.
When we first got the system I noticed a sewage smell especially at my washing machine. I called within the first 3 days to cancel at their Huntsville office and I have the conversation recorded, and he refused to take no for an answer. He literally stated well we already spent a lot of money to have you installed. Not my problem. Fact is that my system hasn't worked right since day one. They added a chemical to it and no change. I'm in the process of hiring my lawyer as we speak because this company was nothing more than a bag of promises that ended up being a bag of lies. The sewage smell won't come out of clothes until I bypass the system and wash them a couple times. My dishes don't get clean when the systems on, you use more chemicals instead of less and their products are crap, Their basically water, the water tastes really weird and it DOES NOT HELP ECZEMA! it made the entire families issue 1000% worse. They stated it was a bacteria in the ground but don't know how to fix it yet I'm supposed to pay for a product that is not only unusable but actually harmful. Its full of a bacteria they can't understand. This is a serious health risk to my family after they made the spill of doesn't your kids deserve clean water when I tried to cancel within my 3 days. Oh and the salespeople will tell you cancel anytime or 30 days but fine print says 3 days only. This is the worse company I've ever dealt with and home depot will never get my business again due to its affilliation to this company. Your more than welcome to contact me rainsoft Corp. at. service
Hi, I'm a Rainsoft customer for the last 13-15 years. My experience with the dealer on Edgewater Orlando FL is nothing but problems and dissatisfaction. I recently have my solar panel for the heater removed by the company due to hurricane damage to the roof and I need a whole roof replacement. I called your dealer to arrange for the solar panel to put back. I was told to wait for 2 weeks on Jan 19 for that I had no problem with. On the day of the appointment, they called and I was told their van had problem and cannot come and they will rearrange for 1st thing in the morning the next day which I also agreed. Jan 20 came and they told me they won't be coming till 3-6pm (they promised 1st thing in the morning). When they arrived, they told me they don't have the bracket (or nails) that they left on the roof when they took down the panel, so they have to come back on Jan 21 around the same time (3pm) again. When Jan 22 came, they never came back and no called was received (no call no show). I have also rearranged Solar city to come to replace the rest of the panels after rainsoft which I have to rescheduled again. I called the above office and request to speak to a manager, they told me Mr. Colon will call me back, never did I get a call back from him. I visited the office on Jan 24 to request to speak to a manager again, they told me manager Jason was on sick leave, someone will get back with me. After several more phone calls from us demanding to speak to a manager, finally Mr. Colon called back. I complained to him about the service I received from his company and explained to him that I have to postponed my appointment with Solar City three times to put back the rest of the panels to my house due to their delay. He told me will have Sharon (office manager) to call me back. Sharon called me back and I explained to her the same details. she didn't apologize but blame me stating that's my fault because they left those brackets on the roof and the roofer took them, therefor her staff couldn't put the panel back. Honestly, we were never told to tell the roofer to save those brackets. They fully aware that we were replacing the whole roof and not once we went up to the roof and look at what happened. We pay $500 for Rainsoft to take down and put back the panel assuming they will do the job ( I don't think I need to supervise them by telling them to take and bring the brackets back to do their job). I told Mr. Perry (scheduler) that I would be OK if they arrange to put back the panel before Solar City come back the following Thursday. Instead, I have to wait for anther week from the company for the service at their merciful time and convenient. The no call, no show, the blaming and lack of communication cause me to lose my patience with your dealer.
This is not the first time we have encountered problems with them. We have purchased the solar panel which wasn't even working in the 1st year. It took them almost a year to get the system to work. We also have the air-conditioning system put in by them. But the workmanship was so bad (told by their own people) that they have to send the 2nd man over to reinstall the whole system all over again after 3 months. We have also had our annual water filtration and solar heated system service. Sadly, after the so call annual maintenance which I paid for $500, the two systems weren't even working at all. They end up replacing the whole damaged part by the maintenance guy six months later in order to get the water system work again.
We have been a loyal customer who had spent $30, 000-$40, 000 with the company in the past. But we will no longer their customer any more after that.

water filtration system
After dealing with a very pushy salesman, who misrepresented his product to take advantage of a single mother, with lots of claims of how our water was so bad, it could cause cancer, I financed this product for over $5000. I was also promised a lifetime warranty. However, after less than 2 years, the product malfunctioned and continuously dumped water out for over a month before the water company contacted me. I immediately unplugged the unit, after receiving a 700 dollar water bill. I called the company and have emailed water bills as they requested. The refuse to return phone calls. Their financial company is harassing me for payment. They are rude and calling up to 3 times a day. They claim no responsibility to repair the equipment.

I will never borrow rainfall system again this is the four unit that I have bought in the past 15 years have we tend to buy one when we buy new home We arrive home in our system was laying on the ground all they did was set it on the ground and a cat fight going into the house no safety bracket for nothing pipe broke do you not know how long it was running for but call the complaint and I warranty was up for labor was a very poorly installed job I physically spent 50 extra dollars at lows how are you doing the piping so I can have water and screwed to the wall for now it does not move very unhappy
