I flew to Anchorage and stayed at Ramada Inn by Wyndom Downtown, 115 East 3rd Ave. Anchorage Alaska [protected]. for my first two nights in Alaska.
When we were given our room 318 and went into it around 6 pm the heat was on full blast from wall board heater, the window was open and a loud floor A/C unit was on full blast. Unplugging the A/C unit did not shut it off, turning the heater thermostat down to the least did nothing, my roommate left to speak with management many times, we went to dinner and came back still nothing was done. I fell asleep one time for a few minutes while she was downstairs to see if they would give us another room and a guy walked in saying he was going to repair unit, at Midnight! he apologised profusely, saying he was only trying to help but the place was not making repairs. He saw that the A/C unit had a vent that was ripped in half, no longer connected to the wall part. We got no sleep that night and the next morning, the front desk person gave us another room on the second floor that was fine no A/C and no heat on high.
I have asked repeatedly for the management to refund me for the night of June 10,2024. and they have ignored my calls entirely, never are there supposedly and not returning my calls. I would like some restitution on this matter, it was the worst place I've ever stayed and not a good impression for people who come to Anchorage Alaska.
Recommendation: Do not stay here.
We could not go elsewhere as we had a reservation for 2 rooms with 2 other women in another room for 2 nights and things were booked up, and we were tired from traveling all day.
