Reading Plus Mixed Feelings About Reading Plus

As someone deeply passionate about education and literacy, I have mixed feelings about Reading Plus. On one hand, I appreciate the adaptive nature of the program and how it aims to improve reading levels for students at their own pace. However, after delving into various reviews, it's evident that there are significant concerns. Many users express frustration with the content, finding it boring and unengaging. Some even describe the experience as stressful and mentally taxing. It's disheartening to hear stories of students feeling overwhelmed and teachers facing challenges in motivating their classes. While the program shows promise in some areas, there seems to be a disconnect between its intended benefits and the actual user experience. As an advocate for quality education, I believe that platforms like Reading Plus should continuously strive to enhance user engagement, relevance, and overall impact on students' learning journeys.

Reading Plus Amazeballs

Tbh really fun! Not a bad program at all! Just one thing the scan progressively gets faster as you do it. So eventually you can't do it anymore cuz its moving about 200 words faster than for g/i rate. But if you ignore that and the ignorance on synonyms in the vocab part still pretty good

Reading Plus Great Website!

I can't assimilate the reasons for all of this hatred towards Reading Plus! Yes, it does augment the amount of homework (one) has to do.(I'm a 7th grader) However, the program itself promotes mental retention and efficient processing. Students might initially be incentivised to finish the lessons through temptations to play on Nintendo Switch, but, through a growth mindset, students must remember that the goal the program has for students is to SIMULTANEOUSLY read faster and comprehend more material. (That's where the retention comes in). Psychologically, the program wants to help people accommodate to faster reading rates, allowing the brain to quickly analyze and implement "mental reading tools."
UPDATE: I have noticed that the vocabulary lessons are a bit flawed. There can be multiple definitions to a word, but only 1 definition would be considered to be veracious. It is infuriating, since this website appears to help you memorize sesquipedalian terminology within a few minutes! I always want to enhance my terminology! Yes, I still think the website is great, but the flaws in the vocab. Lessons are a hindrance to my typically-growing exuberance when I learn new words!

Reading Plus Mindblowing Company

I went here to buy myself a single-shot rifle and then Ronnie McNutt came up to me and gave me this mindblowing Samsung s10+ and I broke up with my girlfriend then said "Hey guys, I guess that's it!" and the ringtone started playing. Mindblowing company if you ask me. I also got the new McNutt from McDonalds and it was delicious. The man below is the people who gave me the samsung s10+ over the horizon.

Reading Plus Unengaging Passages & Eye Strain: A Negative Experience with Reading Plus

Reading Plus (readingplus.com) has been a mandatory tool for me for nearly three years now, and unfortunately, I have had a less-than-ideal experience with it. As a student who consistently excels academically, I was genuinely disappointed by the dull and underwhelming stories presented in this program, which failed to capture my attention even at the highest difficulty levels. Regrettably, the monotony of these texts has had a negative impact on my performance, as I have received unsatisfactory scores on several occasions.

As someone who enjoys reading darker and grittier material, I cannot help but wonder if more exciting stories, perhaps with triggering elements would be more beneficial for me. The unfortunate reality is that having to trudge through unengaging passages not only sapped my motivation but left me feeling frustrated after each session. Additionally, I was surprised to find that my eyes would become strained due to the intense and unchanging background.

To make matters worse, I noticed a decline in my ability to focus, which I attribute to the uninteresting material and uneventful background. As a result, I find myself hesitant about picking up any book, as boring stories still seem to haunt me.

In light of everything, I would suggest adding a section with a wide range of diverse and captivating content that is meant for older students. Stories that are not afraid to tackle tougher themes and have an engaging plot that is sure to keep a reader's attention. To make the experience more user-friendly, different background colors with lower-contrast would add a touch of pleasantness.

Overall, Reading Plus has left me with a sour aftertaste, and I sincerely hope that the team behind it can gather similar feedback and work to make the necessary changes for future users.

Reading Plus Reading Plus App: A Waste of Time & Resources

In this review, the writer expresses their negative opinion about the educational app, Reading Plus. They begin by stating that the app is the worst they have ever come across, citing the topics as tedious and uninteresting. They assert that they would prefer to learn about topics such as the most dangerous and interesting exoplanets in space. They also criticize the app's attempt to be cool through "events," which they describe as extra torture.

The writer further emphasizes their belief that no topics on the app are worthwhile and discourages anyone from downloading it based on the negative reviews it has received. They even go as far as to suggest that the company should shut down its operations because the app is a complete waste of time and resources.

Furthermore, they comment on the outdated appearance of the website, stating that it looks like it was made back in 2008. They also provide screenshots to support this claim.

The writer also critiques the low-quality stories on the app, stating that they are all the same and uninteresting. They provide examples such as "once upon a time in a village" and topics like "how shoes are made" and "evolution of toilet paper."

Finally, the writer derides anyone who thinks the app is good, calling them a nerd and concluding by expressing their desire for the company to shut down and all its employees to jump off a cliff.

Overall, this review portrays a highly negative opinion of Reading Plus, expressing a desire for the company to cease its operations due to its perceived inferior quality.

Reading Plus Review: Reading Plus - A Frustrating Reading Enhancement Tool

Reading Plus is a website designed to enhance reading proficiency; however, many users find the tedious lessons to be dull and uninspiring. One major drawback is the lack of flexibility learners have once they start a lesson; changing to another one midstream seems to be impossible. Even logging out does not provide a respite from the boredom, since once you log back in, you're immediately directed back to the same lesson you were on. This feature can be frustrating for students who need a break from a long, drawn-out activity.

Moreover, those who are fast readers find the website's assessment of their reading speed to be subjective. Reading Plus has been known to label users as reading too quickly, disrupting the flow of the lesson. Additionally, teachers have a limited ability to assist students since they can only see how many lessons were completed and the score achieved; overall performance isn't visible.

The quizzes following the lessons are also challenging, which could prevent users from progressing. Those who get two out of ten questions incorrect are regarded as having failed the entire 16-20 page reading lesson. While that length may not be problematic to most, having to read the text at a snail's pace with a guided window is laborious.

In conclusion, while Reading Plus has the potential to improve users' reading skills, it may not be the best option for everyone. Students needing a user-friendly and flexible learning environment may prefer other options such as Achieve 3000 due to the unlimited access it offers to previous pages in the text. Austyn Cross, a 10th grade student, finds Reading Plus to be a frustrating website and recommends against its use.

Reading Plus Dull and Unmotivating: My Review of Reading Plus

As someone who has used Reading Plus, I have to say that I found the site to be quite dull. While I understand that the app is designed to improve reading skills, it does so using a very specific method called "G-Rate". While this might work for some kids, I found it difficult and frustrating as it didn't let me use my own personal reading style. As a result, it was difficult to engage fully with the material.

Another issue with Reading Plus is that the topics covered are often not very interesting. This made it hard to stay motivated and engaged, especially when each topic consists of around 10 questions that you need to get more than 80% on. As someone who is already struggling with their reading skills, this extra pressure can be extremely stressful.

That being said, I do have a suggestion to improve the site. If there was a section where you could request or suggest topics that you were actually interested in, it would make the Reading Plus experience much more enjoyable. This would also make it easier to get a high score on each topic as you would be more motivated to read and answer the questions correctly.

Overall, I would give Reading Plus one star due to its lack of engagement and pressure to get a high score. However, if they added the suggested feature, I would be willing to bump it up to a three-star rating.

Reading Plus Review of Reading Plus: A Platform That Falls Short in Meeting the Needs of Students

As a student, I understand the importance of platforms that aid in our education, but unfortunately, Reading Plus falls short in many areas. Firstly, the articles provided are tedious and lack any real stimulation for the reader. The platform’s contradictory nature of telling students to slow down while simultaneously tracking their reading pace is confusing and unhelpful. Moreover, the scan style of reading offered by the site offers no flexibility for students to revisit sections of the text they may not have understood.

The rewards system provided by Reading Plus is nothing more than a shallow attempt at keeping students engaged. The achievement system in the reading program fails to tap into the psychological aspects of rewards and motivation, as what is offered provides no real value to the students.

The teaching method offered by Reading Plus falls short too. The platform fails to consider the diversity of learning styles among students. As a student who needs to reread parts of an article to comprehend it, the tiny box, the site provides to guide the reading process can be distracting and unhelpful. The push to read faster also leads to comprehension issues as students are more concerned with retaining the pace than retaining the information.

In conclusion, while Reading Plus intends to be a tool that benefits students, it falls significantly short in meeting the actual needs of the students. It is my hope that schools pay careful attention to the concerns expressed by students who have valid complaints and suggestions for the improvement of educational sites.

Reading Plus A Critical Review of Reading Plus: Is It Really Effective for Improving Reading Skills?

Reading Plus is an online program designed to improve reading skills in students. However, a recent review of the program suggests that it may not be as helpful as advertised. The reviewer expresses a strong dislike for Reading Plus, stating that it only causes stress and frustration, leading them to hope that it will be banned from their school.

One common complaint expressed in the review is the inability to exit out of the books. This can be frustrating for students who need a break or who want to move on to a different task. Another concern is the grading system used by Reading Plus. The program requires students to answer all questions correctly to achieve a high score, but this can be overwhelming for students who are struggling.

Furthermore, there seems to be an issue with the program's pacing. Some students may read too quickly or too slowly for the app, resulting in inaccurate feedback. Additionally, the book selections are criticized as being uninteresting and poorly written, making the program feel more like a chore than a learning tool.

The reviewer suggests that their school district may have purchased Reading Plus without considering its effectiveness. They also argue that the program may even be detrimental to their reading skills, as it reinforces a dislike of reading rather than fostering a love of learning. Ultimately, the review highlights the negative impact that Reading Plus can have on students, and calls for a reconsideration of its use in schools.

Reading Plus Disappointing & Tedious: My Experience with Reading Plus for English Class

Hello, my name and details are not important. However, I wanted to share my experience with Reading Plus, a reading and vocabulary website that my English teacher requires us to use for a major grade.
Unfortunately, I have to say that this site has been a huge disappointment. As someone who reads quickly, I find that the site often tells me to slow down, which is frustrating. It seems that there is no way to adjust the settings to prevent this from happening.
On top of that, I find the stories on this site to be incredibly boring. It's also disappointing that you can't reread them, as that defeats the purpose of honing your reading skills. However, I did find a glitch that allowed me to reread during tests (or whatever they're called).
I also noticed that some of the answers seem misleading. On occasion, I have come across questions that look correct but are actually wrong. This can be frustrating, especially since the correct answer often looks very similar to the incorrect one.
Furthermore, I don't understand why the site considers a score of 70-79% to be failing. While it may not be a great score, it's still a passing grade in most situations.
Another issue I have with this site is the lack of interesting topics. As someone who is passionate about video games, I was disappointed to find no sections related to this topic. Furthermore, the site often "locks" stories, which seems pointless to me. If I'm not interested in a story, it won't make me more interested just because it's locked.
Finally, I have noticed that many of the replies to reviews on this site appear to be from bot accounts. These replies usually say similar messages and often seem insincere.
Overall, I would not recommend using Reading Plus. There are many other options out there that are more engaging, effective, and often cheaper. Even playing games like Prodigy could be more enjoyable than the tedious experience of using this site.

Reading Plus Flaws in Reading Plus: Eighth Grade Student Review

As an eighth grade student, I have had some unpleasant experiences with Reading Plus, and I know that many of my schoolmates share my opinion. Although the program aims to encourage students to read, it has some flaws that make it less effective and less enjoyable than it could be.

Firstly, let's talk about the vocabulary section. The program tests your knowledge of words without first providing their definitions, which can be frustrating and misleading. Many students find it difficult to guess a word's meaning from context alone, especially if it's an unfamiliar word. Reading Plus should provide a list of words and their definitions before testing students on them, which would give a better chance to learn the content.

When it comes to the reading part, things get even more problematic. The program uses a feature called "See Reader" that controls the pace at which students read the passages. This feature often goes too fast or too slow, and if students lose concentration for even a split second, they're not allowed to go back to reread without wasting a reread attempt. The program also stresses students by examining very fine details instead of focusing on more important points like the setting or main ideas. The questions are not test-wise, and the amount of rereads that the program allots is too low for effective study.

To test properly, students need to review materials multiple times and even take a few notes on key points. Adding unlimited rereads and allowing students to go back to the text whenever they want would make the program much more effective. In addition, the questions should be restructured to focus on text structure and main ideas, rather than minor details that won't help students in the long run.

Furthermore, the stories in Reading Plus are often dull and unengaging. If the ultimate goal is to promote reading skills, then the program should try to pick stories that will engage students and inspire them to read more. For instance, the program could feature articles on various professions to show what people do day to day, or fiction books that contain relatable characters in recognizable settings.

Many schools purchase Reading Plus for their students as a way of providing additional reading activities but waste the class's time. To fix this issue, it's important that teachers and heads of institutions similarly request the changes we’ve mentioned before. That way, students will actually appreciate the program and learn more in the process.

Reading Plus Disappointing Experience with Reading Plus: Slow Progress, Limited Vocabulary, and Inaccurate Information

When it comes to Reading Plus, I have to be honest – I wasn't impressed. I found that this educational tool did little to increase my reading comprehension and didn't seem to teach me anything particularly useful either. One of the biggest issues that I had with Reading Plus was the quality of the vocabulary. There were many instances where words had multiple meanings, yet the tool would only show one definition. I found this frustrating and felt that it limited my understanding.

Another issue that I faced was that I read at quite a fast pace, and Reading Plus didn't seem to be able to keep up. Despite reading a book as challenging and lengthy as "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea", I found that it took me much longer than usual to make progress through the chapters. I even struggled to finish five see-readers in under two hours. This really took the enjoyment out of the experience for me.

Overall, I would say that Reading Plus is not worth the effort. It can be stressful for students and often provides incorrect information. For me, it was a complete waste of time, and I wouldn't recommend it to others. In my opinion, there are much better tools available for improving reading comprehension that are worth exploring instead.

Reading Plus Review: Reading Plus- An Unengaging Program That Holds Back Students' Potential

As a seventh-grade student, I have had some experience with a reading program called Reading Plus. Despite my best efforts, I have struggled with this program, and my grades have suffered as a result. My younger sister shares my frustration, and we both find ourselves struggling to maintain our old reading standards. It's a shame because we know that we are capable of so much more, but Reading Plus seems to be holding us back.

One of our primary frustrations is that none of the readings in the program are interesting to us. We feel that the content is dull and unengaging, which makes it extremely difficult to stay focused and motivated. In fact, we have both found ourselves staying up late into the night just trying to complete the assignments, which has led to us being severely sleep-deprived and struggling to concentrate during the school day.

We wish that this program could be removed entirely because, in our opinion, it causes more harm than good. It requires us to sacrifice so much of our time and energy for the sake of a few extra points, and it has turned something that we used to love into a source of stress and dread.

We have spoken with other students at our school, and they share our sentiment. Many of them also struggle with this program and feel that it is doing little to improve their reading skills. It is our hope that educators will take notice and consider alternative reading programs that are more engaging and effective.

Reading Plus Reading Plus Program Needs Improvement: A Student's Experience

At my school, we are required to use Reading Plus (readingplus.com) as a reading program. Personally, it has been quite a struggle and something that I often dread doing. I know I am not alone in this sentiment, as many of my classmates and even students from other classes have expressed their dislike for the program. Despite promises from my teacher that I only have two more weeks left of using it, I feel a sense of responsibility to speak out for the fourth graders who will be forced to use it in fifth grade next year. I hope that Reading Plus can improve its platform, as it currently only has a 1.2-star rating. In particular, I think the program should focus on finding better, more engaging books to read and improving its vocabulary section. I have found myself accidentally clicking on a word and getting the answer wrong, which can be frustrating when I can't find a way to go back and correct it. I hope that Reading Plus can make some changes to make its program more enjoyable for students in the future.

Reading Plus Review of Reading Plus: A Valuable Resource for Struggling Readers?

Reading Plus is an online reading program that has received mixed reviews. Some users have reported that it is a valuable tool for children who are struggling to read, while others have found it to be more of a nuisance.

One reviewer states that the program is primarily designed for children who have not yet developed basic reading skills. While this may be true, it should be noted that Reading Plus is not intended as a replacement for classroom reading instruction. Instead, it is meant to be used in conjunction with other reading materials to help students improve their reading comprehension and vocabulary.

Another common complaint is that the program adds to the already heavy load of homework that students receive each week. However, it is worth noting that the frequency and amount of assignments are typically determined by individual teachers and schools rather than the Reading Plus program itself.

However, for those who are struggling with reading, Reading Plus can be a valuable resource. The program is interactive and engaging, featuring a variety of texts that range from fiction to non-fiction, and covers a diverse range of topics. Through exercises that involve reading passages and answering comprehension questions, students can improve their reading speed, vocabulary, and critical thinking skills.

While some may argue that the program is not necessary for students who are already proficient readers, there are always areas for improvement. For instance, it can be difficult to master new vocabulary terms and concepts, and students may not have been exposed to certain types of texts before. Additionally, some students may simply enjoy using the program and find it to be a fun and engaging way to improve their reading skills.

Ultimately, the worth of Reading Plus will depend on a number of individual factors, including the student's reading level, the amount of homework they receive, and their personal preferences. However, for those who are struggling with reading, or who simply enjoy using online tools to improve their skills, Reading Plus can be a useful addition to their reading curriculum.

Reading Plus My Disappointing Experience with Reading Plus Vocabulary and Stories

As a student, I have to say that my experience with Reading Plus has not been great. While the platform is designed to improve your reading skills, the vocabulary section appears to be flawed, making it challenging to grasp the meaning of some words. The words given often have numerous meanings, and it can get confusing when there seem to be two correct answers, but only one is approved. This could be due to the fact that the words are not explained correctly, making it tough for students to learn accurately.

Additionally, I found the stories on the platform to be dull, uninteresting, and outdated. Most of the stories focus on irrelevant information that doesn't make an impact in the real world, and the descriptions are sometimes poorly written. This causes students to lose interest and excitement in reading because the topics are not engaging, and the presentation is lackluster. My friends and I struggle to find joy in using Reading Plus, and it is disappointing because reading used to be a fun activity.

In conclusion, the design of Reading Plus needs to be revised to keep users engaged and motivated. A more effective approach to presenting vocabulary and topics would not only enhance students' reading skills, but also heighten their interest in reading. As a student, I hope to see improvements to Reading Plus to provide a better learning experience and renewed passion for reading.

Reading Plus Reading Plus Review: Hindrance Instead of Help?

Reading Plus is an online reading program that claims to help students improve their reading comprehension skills. However, many students have found this program to be more of a hindrance than a help. One student even went as far as saying that this site made them feel stressed and unmotivated.

One of the main issues with Reading Plus is that it takes away points if you don't perform well on a particular story. This can be incredibly frustrating for students who are already struggling with reading comprehension. Additionally, the stories on this site are often long and uninteresting, making it difficult for students to stay engaged and focused.

Another issue with Reading Plus is that it expects students to memorize everything they read in one shot. This can feel overwhelming for many students, especially those who struggle with retaining information. Thus, this program does not seem to be accommodating and takes a one-size-fits-all approach.

Overall, it seems that Reading Plus is not an effective tool for all students. It has caused feelings of stress and frustration for some, leading to a lack of motivation and a sense of failure. While every student is different, it may be worth considering other reading programs or methods to build reading skills and comprehension abilities.

Reading Plus Reading Plus: A Promising Tool That Falls Short of Expectations

Reading Plus, unfortunately, falls short in many areas. While it may be useful for some students, the passages are often too long and the content can be boring and unrelatable. The reward system in place is also lacking encouragement that is truly motivating for students. Upon exploring the website, it becomes apparent that it is outdated and not really appealing to anyone.

Adding insult to injury, despite the effort and time put into completing the required assignments, it is oftentimes futile. Given that students must achieve at least 80% in order for their work to "count", it may feel as if they are wasting their time struggling to get there. Some users have even shared that the experience of attempting to speed read the texts can become uncomfortable and painful. This is further magnified by the fact that some users are required to spend over five hours just to complete five reading assignments. That's a huge amount of time spent for very little reward.

Another frustrating aspect of Reading Plus is that users often find themselves reading the same stories multiple times. This can lead to a sense of monotony, which unfortunately can make the experience even more tedious. To counteract this, some have suggested that more interesting stories be introduced, maybe even increasing the required passing score to 70% or ensuring there are more relatable storylines.

Overall, while Reading Plus could have been a promising tool for students, it unfortunately falls short of expectations. Students want engaging content that helps them develop their reading skills in an enjoyable way. Sadly, the outdated structure and boring content make it a less than satisfying experience for most users.

Reading Plus A Student's Unfavorable Review of Reading Plus: Burdensome, Unengaging, and Costly

As a student, I have had to engage with Reading Plus as part of my school curriculum. With several other academic obligations and extracurricular activities that fill my schedule, I have found that Reading Plus is quite burdensome. The assignments require a considerable amount of time, and I often have to sacrifice much-needed rest to complete them.

The content of the stories that we are required to read and answer is also not engaging, and it often makes it difficult for me to stay focused on the task at hand. The stories are typically lengthy and cover topics that don't resonate with my interests, such as the history of basketball. However, the teacher insists that it is necessary for my reading improvement.

One of the exercises on Reading Plus requires me to identify the meaning of words that pop up on the screen – this is less challenging compared to the other exercises but it can become tedious. The most frustrating exercise involves pressing the space bar whenever I see the letter "c" instead of an "o." Essentially, it becomes a reflex exercise, and I find it difficult to appreciate its value for my overall literacy.

Beyond these frustrating exercises, the cost of this program is quite high, considering that it amounts to $50 for every four people. While I understand that the school needs to inculcate reading skills in students, I think they could have found a more efficient and cost-effective platform to achieve this goal.

What's more frustrating, though, is that even when I miss Reading Plus sessions due to prioritized school assignments and responsibilities, my teacher still expects me to complete the program. This usually results in adverse effects on my report card, which is very discouraging.

Overall, while I understand why my teacher requires Reading Plus, it's not my favourite program. I think more engaging content and exercises would help students derive greater value from it, and perhaps even make it a more enjoyable experience.
