After an agonising two years, they did not find a buyer for my business, I was ill with the stress and anxiety and had to close the company and business, now they are taking me to court for nearly £9000, having paid £1000 up-front in Dec 2014. I have no money and am on jsa. How can they treat me as an individual now responsible for this debt, when I signed the contract as a company director? they have me stitched up. They are bullies and we will go to court, but I have no money, so I don't know what will happen. Avoid anything to do with Altius Group.
They filed a claim agains me in my local court - and I sent in my long defence statement and was prepared to go to court with the support a good friend who has legal knowledge - and finally they withdrew the case a few weeks before.
I was very relieved, as had no money at all to fight this. Get some sound legal advice, but try and avoid paying a solicitor - the Business debt helpline was a great help to me, highly recommend them. Hope it all works out.
Hi How did you get on they are trying to get me to pay 10, 000.00 and my son and his partner to pay 20, 000.00 plus vat
for withdrawing from a sale that we did not feel was appropriate.
Hi could you let me know your outcome we are in the same situation and they are demanding money from us as personal guarantees deposit our business closing. They did nothing proactive to sell the business.

How did you get on with Altius Group / Redwood Dowling Kerr? I’d be very interested to know. They have used bullying tactics so far on a sale I did not want to go through with because of a death in my family. They claim they’ve been to court many times and won - which is hardly something I’d want to brag about. Does anyone else have experience of this kind with them ?
After 2 years with them doing nothing, so have sold my business myself. They’ve come after me for £18k which I’ve had to pay. Awful company. Never again
