Reliant Communications signed me up for long distance service without me being aware. They said someone signed up using my email address (which I had not used in 10-12 years) and my street address (which I had not used in 12-13 years). They said they had no way of knowing who or where this was done. They are a very dishonest and untrustworthy company.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Stay away from Reliant Communications, Inc. ! They will sign you up as a long distance phone provider saying that there will NO extra or additional charges from your current provider. What they fail to mention is that you will be charged $31.00 for the service to stay the same. I cancelled after 2 months and asked for charges to be reversed (never made 1 long distance call the whole 2 months from that line) and they said sorry. 2 weeks later, they sent my account to collections!
** Phoenix, Arizona Long Distance Provider Scam Alert **
Reliant communications convinced me to go with them with a low rate but by the time they added all the extra fees it was more then I paid centurylink so I went back to centurylink. reliant keep billing me now I was charged with 2 long distance providers, centurylink took the reliant charges off my bill. took 3 months to get reliant to stop billing then reliant starting billing directy. Called reliant and told them that I wouldnt pay for the time after going back to centurylink so they sent me to a collection agency.
Agree with two complaints above...RELIAN COMMUNICATION, INC is a scam. They call me to say that Century Link is “sub-contacted” them for my long distance calls. Our fee is $9.85 a month and $.3 per minute with NO additional fees. Representative said that they have been working close with Century Link and many residence and businesses use their company. I agreed. That was April, in June they bill me for $103. I called Century Link to ask them first. They advised me to call Reliant Communication directly. Calling Relian Communication was awful. After they ask you what's the reason I was calling, they transfer me to the next person, in total I have told three different people the reason for me calling until someone said that I better call Century Link since they are “sub-contracted” them. After a conversation with Century Link, I find that they would never do that since they themselves offer a long distance plans. They refer me back to Reliance Communications. After being transferred back and forth a couple of times, I finally talked to some manager who informed me that I myself authorized switch from Century Link and now responsible for charges. We seldom use our land line and according to Reliance Communication, next town over (only 5 miles away) is a long distance call. Since they have an audio of me authorizing them to provide long distance calls, there is nothing I can do but pay the bill and cancel they serves. So, beware this company is a SCAM and bunch of dishonest sales reps. that lie and say things that aren't true to switch you to this awful company that has no costumer service skills and rips innocent people off. JUST STAY AWAY from RELIAN COMMUNICATION INC.
BIG SCAM! Same issue as VieMar.
I WAS TOLD YHE SAME THING THAT THEY WHERE IN PARTNERS WITH CENTURYLINK WHICH IS A LIE. THEY NEVER SWITCHED ME OVER TO THEM BUT I WAS STILL CHARGED FOR TWO MONTHS WHEN I WAS STILL BEING CHARGED BY CENTURY LINK. DEALING WITH THE REPRESENTATIVES WAS TERRABLE I GOT HUNG UP ON. I FINALY TALKED TO A REPRASINATIVE AND WAS TOLD IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN CHANGED SO I HAD TO PAY THE BILL ANY WAY.SO I HAD TO PAY CENTURYLINK FOR SERVICE THEY RENDERED AND HAD TO PAY RELIANCE FOR NOTHING JUST TO KEEP MY CREDIT RATING GOOD.BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY THEY ARE NOTHING BUT A SCAM COMPANY. I, M LUCKEY MY DAUGHTER WORKS FOR AN ATTORNEY AND RELIANT WILL BE GETTING A NASTY LETTER FROM THEM. DOLORES HUTCHINSON
I just had a Reliant salesperson call me who said she'd been authorized by CenturyLink to call me and switch my company over to them since we were a "low-volume useage customer" and we could get better rates by using them. She said they were teaming up with CenturyLink and that my bill would still be sent by Century but would have Reliant's name on it. I'm so glad I checked it out first on here because she made it sound oh so legitimate. Then, when I told her I'd like to doublecheck with CenturyLink before I agreed to anything, she said I was too skeptical and told me to just keep the rates I had and hung up. Hmmm.
Received call from someone stating that they were with Windstream (my local phone company) and that they had reviewed my account and since I did not use my long distance calling that much they would be able to save me money by switching me from a retail to wholesale account. When received bill for RELIANT Communications I phoned Windstream and was told that this was a SCAM. Reliant was in no way associated with them and that they had lied about switching me. They had switched me off of Windstream long distance to their account. When I called Reliant and spoke with someone and told them that they had misrepresented themselves..was asked if I wanted to go ahead and close my account. Really? Never knew I had an account with them until I received bill. I feel like this company is a SCAM..BEWARE!
Has anything been done with this company and the fees they are charging? I too was called by them stating that they were somehow affiliated with CenturyLink and that there was a ONE TIME $1 fee and THAT WAS IT... I just got a call from a collection agency stating that my business has been turned into collections for $75! NOT ONE long distance call was ever made, nor did I even know I had a bill with them! Just wondering if anyone has pursued any legal action against them...
Totally agree - avoid Reliant Communications --- make it sound great over phone conversation but when you get the statement there are charges of $14.78 for each phone line whether you make calls or not... Rip off! Cancel your service with them today to save yourself some serious coins.
Still being charged for long distance Class action suit sould be filed. Scam they lie and say its part of a deal with your company.
Sould start a FB page with grievance's. BBB needs to know!
I have almost the exact complaint as everyone here. Reliant Communications is a lying scam company. I did get Century Link to credit my Reliant Communications Scam money to my account. Fu*k these Scam companies its only 30 bucks but fight back . I wonder how much money they make from screwing us and getting away with it. Call and complain to your phone company I was going to shut my phone off and not use any Century link or Quest for anything or as little as possible. They ended up being very helpful after I asked them to close all my phone accounts.
On the Holiday Monday I recieved a call from my "Telus provider" so he said. He said that since I was with telus for over 10 years they can lower my long distance fee from $20.29 to $11 something. I confirmed that this was telus and not trying to sell me anything. I found it very weird telus would be calling on a holiday monday. After asking some questions again the man kept insisting he was telus. He then told me to get my lower rate he had to transfer me to his supervisor and to just ask yes or no questions. I was transfered to the supervisor (which got upset that I had asked a question and didn't reply just yes or no). A couple days later I got a e-mail from reliant saying i'm switched long distance providers. I immediately called to dispute this change, the lady cancelled my contract but said I may have charges, and that she will send me the conversation recording. I also called my Telus provider and the said this is a current scam that they are no way associated with Telus, and that they have no access to my account or bill. Reliant then sent me the so called recording of the phone conversation and found it very falsified and chopped up. (Recording is very different then the one I have on my phone. Our buisness records all phone conversations for this very reason!). The recording they sent also does not have the original conversation with the man who called, just the supervisor conversation that is all edited!.
This company needs to be shut down!
Reliant called our temp receptionist and impersonated Telus ("I represent Telus and just want to review your long distance"). Our temp was not an authorized account admin, so couldn't approve that anyway. We also have a cloud-based VoIP setup giving us unlimited LD almost globally - Why on earth would we need an LD provider like "Reliant"?!? This is wrong and very bad business. We received a surprise bill from them, triggering management to realize what just happened. This and ANY invoice will be disputed, as this change was not approved. Shady sales.
Update: The billing dept at Reliant was great (not that I should have had to call in the first place). Quickly canceled and reversed everything without question. Still - their sales is unethical.
How to stop or cancel their [censored]? I just got a mail from there saying activation of account!
Identical situation happened to our company. Although the lady who reversed the invoice and cancled the account was very nice and quick to act, this is very suspicious. What company cancles an invoice with no questions asked? Clearly a scam.
