Cavalry Portfolio Services Debt collection

11/7/2022

I'm filing this complaint because I have request from Cavalry to kindly send a balance each month on an account I have been paying off for Walmart in the amount of $50. I don't think it's asking too much for them to include a forwarding balance on the account. It is a Synchrony Bank/ Walmart collection account.

Cavalry Portfolio Services FDCPA violation & the CFPB.GOV

I am a consumer & a employee of Cavalry. I have a debt in there office that I did not know what it was for, I explained that I never seen it or opened it. kepp in mind they have never provided me with any documentation or proof of the debt. After they took $1500 hundred dollars out of my check, I pull my credit report I saw the account I thought I was paying on, it said paid as agreed and had a zero balance. I called Cavalry imediatetly, I tried to dispute the debt & was told I was unable to dispute it because I am a employee and that if i did, my job may be in jeopardy. I tried to have a civil conversation with the compliance department but they just wanted to be rude & condicending. I tried several other times to reach someone with a level head and understanding but was unable to speak to anyone that cared. I find this hard to believe because our motto is CAVCARES, what a load of crap that is I think someone feels bad for running over a nun. I went as far as to send a email to the owner Andrew Zaro with no response. I have done all that I can without filing a complaint in court or the CFPB, FTC, and AG. If you are having trouble with this company, there is one thing they do fear & that is the CFPB.gov you can file a complaint on line or over the phone and they will take action against the company. I regret to say, but this is what I have had to do as an employee & a consumer that was lied to & missed treated.

Cavalry Portfolio Services Beware

I have been harassed for the past 2 months by Cavalry Portfolio Services. First, they blow up my cell phone, of course i dont answer unknown numbers. So, I tried to call back and it goes straight to there voicemail. Then, they called my work asking fo my supervisor, well, sorry guys I am the supervisor. I ask them what this is for and to Send me all the documents on this account with a validation of debt.

They told me I had to email them my request and they would send it.I did so, and they sent me some bogus information. NO original contract. NO liscence information for either the business or the agent.

They then called me to make a payment plan with them, and of course i told them that all documentaion is not included and i would not give them any money unless they completely validated the debt. Which they Cant. The agent continued to argue with me saying that there lawyers were completely legitimate and all legal document was sent, that there lawyers are the best of the best.

Funny thing is, Cavaly was sued in 2008 by the state of arizona for $15000 to keep there liscence due to bogus collections.

Cavalry Portfolio Services Refuse to resolve credit clean up

I have spent thousands for over a year attempting to resolve and old debt with Cavalary. I've now spent more than the debt in attorney fees for an unsecured credit card that has been on and off my credit report for years. I'm beginning to wonder if my attorney works with them because it makes no sense this can't be resolved. I don't understand and my attorney (who's held $4000 of my money since April) says it's getting close...I'm lost. Please help or offer advice. Do I need a new atty? At first they were double reporting on my debt and I believe since corrected. I've never received any back up from them on the actual debt and what they purchased. The debt resulted from my being unemployed for two years and it feels like my trying to make it right is costing me an arm and a leg. It's frustrating and I'd like it to be over...exactly how long does it typically take to resolve these things? Any comments direction advice is appreciated. Thank you!

If you paid $4000 somebody saw you coming. You can resolve this by filing a complaint with the credit reporting agencies. They will investigate. Secondly, if this debt is over 4 years old, the debt is statute barred from being collected. These type of companies buy debts that are very old and could not be colledted.

Cavalry Portfolio Services Father's debt on my credit

An amount of $9927 debt was discovered on my Equifax report this am. This is my fathers debt not mine. I’m always fighting the 3 credit reporting bureaus. Who does this company think they are anyways? Is it so hard to check and double check social-security numbers and date of births? If I try to change my social security number it would create a huge mess. All of my personal information would all have to be updated. I just had information removed from transunion a few days ago now it’s Equifax giving me problems about Calvary! When will this ever stop?

I ham currently experiencing the same problem with Cavalry. They are harassing me for a family member's debt that was written off by bankruptcy. They continue to call and harass me on a daily basis. I have spoken with "Candy Smith" (really?! Is that her name?) and she continues to insist that the debt is mine. It is not and I will fight this to the end. They are horrible and I'm not sure how they sleep at night...

Cavalry Portfolio Services Never give them your work name or phone!

Cavalry Portfolio Services, is a bottom feeding debt collector, the buy old debts for pennies on the dollar and try to collect the full amount from you. Its legal but stopping the harassing calls and letters is very easy.

Send a certified letter return receipt requested stating the following.

I am evoking my rights under the fair debt collection practices act and demand you stop all communications.

Sign the letter and send it off you will not hear from the scam artist again. Make sure you never give them your work name or phone # they will sue you.

I know I am a bit late to this conversation, but I have had my SS# stolen as well. I have also had a sprint account started with my name social. I didn't find out about it until I was applying for a home loan. I saw the Calvary number and decided to call to see what I had to do to prove it wasn't me. Wow! What exceptional people skills the representatives I spoke with had! The nicest people you could ever talk to. (In case you have never called them for something you don't owe, I am being a tad bit sarcastic) According to them I was lying or forgot that I opened a Sprint account. I have never had any kind of phone service, and I am still on my dad's old family plan with another company. I spent some time on the phone with Sprint and the collection agency. Sprint seemed pretty cool about it and sent me a form to fill out to prove it was fraud. The collection agency told me that Sprint could no longer do anything. I hope they were just telling me that to try to get to pay something I DON'T OWE. I have only been on my own for a couple of years now, but I am 100% sure that I have not missed a payment on anyting. The rest of my credit report for Equifax and the other two credit bureaus can attest to that. I received a letter from Sprint saying it was in fact Fraud and that they should clear it with the collection agency who will then correct my credit score. After reading a couple of blogs about the Calvary collection agency and equifax credit bureau I am not sure it will be as easy as Sprint says.

Phyllis is an idiot, most of these debts people have are not even their own. Phyllis you ever hear of stolen identity? This happens more than most people think. Should I pay for a debt that isn't mine?

um...how is it a "scam" when they're just trying to get you to pay a delinquent bill?

phone companies, credit card companies, auto creditors, etc. are not in the business of debt collection. they are in the business of providing services and financing. they sell debts they can't collect to companies whose expertise is debt collection. this is no scam, it's legitimate business.

it's people like you abusing the system, running up bills, not paying for the services you purchase, and then shirking responsbility through loopholes in the fdcpa that are sending our economy into turmoil.
