Dubai London Clinic Not a drop of 'no emergency'

As per the clinic profile where it says "Dubai London Clinic has developed a reputation for traditional family care and efficient service." I have to claim that Clinic does not correspondence to its profile image. The frustrating story follows: our son Ammar has been taking his immunization from Dubai London Clinic Festival City brunch since birth. And when he turned 18 month he fall sick and entire night was vomiting with high fewer. since Dubai London Clinic was the only place we was ever checked we went there first thing in the morning and Reception, Head Nurse the Doctor in charge told us "they are fully booked. Please come with appointment". We headed to the main branch of Dubai London Clinic Jumeirah where they have diagnosed scarlet fewer. And with complain clinic took a charge for sympathy and consultation of 600 AED.
Today again my son Ammar was complaining on itchy palms with tears since he still does not speaks well we went to Dubai London Clinic Jumeirah where they informed us that they will try to fit us where instead of fitting in they dropped us to the last appointment so from 3pm we have been waiting till 6pm with sick toddler and my second daughter of 3 month. We would have stayed longer if I would not come to Dr. Graeme office and not complained for what he replied THIS IS OUR SYSTEM. My reply "BEFORE CREATING SYSTEM LEARN HOW TO BECOME A HUMAN" and we left. Gulmira

Dubai London Clinic Too Expensive

I went to call the Dubai London Clinic yesterday (04.11.09) to seek assistance from a ENT specialist. Surprisingly I have got an appointment at 2pm (I called at 11am) which I thought was super swift, considering that I have called other clinics and they offered me appointments in 10-14 days.

So I went there and everyone was very friendly and I only waited 2 minutes. The Doctor was professional and seemed to know what he was talking about. He took a few quick checks and filled out an prescription - done! Super I thought, now the medicine just has to help me and that's that.

I went to the cashier and she asked me for AED 400 (For 4 minutes of work), well you do the math on daily and annual salaries. This I found for medical help totally outrageous and now I am not surprised that I got an appointment so quickly. The price that sounds reasonable would probably AED 250 for 15-20 minutes consultation.

Please join me in boycotting this kind of highway (Jumeirah Beach Road) robbery as this is unacceptable.

Michael

I had the same experience at Dubai London Clinic for a Dermatology Appointment. I asked for a appointment after 6pm as I am working before that. They told me that all the dermatologists leave by 4-5pm, and are off for Friday and Saturday. I hung up and started thinking of other places I might get a consultation at my preferred hours.
Suddenly after 15 mins I get a call again from Dubai London Clinic, saying that they have one dermatologist at 6:40pm. I took the appointment and went. Before my consultation I went to the reception and gave my Insurance Card which covers me for all OP and IP Procedures.
I went in for the appointment and was out in 5 mins, and they said I have to pay 500 AED for the consultation! and that they don't accept Insurance! EVEN though their website says they accept Oman Insurance Comprehensive Plus plan that I am on!
HIDEOUS and totally UN PROFESSIONAL.
Total Day Light Robbery!

all private hospitals are expensive here, go to the american hospital and you will pay 500 for any such visits.

word to the wise. always inquire into the fees of the doctors consultation.

i have made it a practice to ask for the doctor's fees at the time of appointment. In dubai, there are private hospitals and public hospitals, you can search for a list of both online (public hospitals and clinics list is available at www.dohms.gov.ae).

you'll find that public hospitals are cheapest if you have a health card (costs 300 annually) but there is also long waiting for consultation or surgery.

if you have frequent visits to doctors you can apply for medical insurance which would save you from unexpected medical fees.

midway priced (subsidised) is Iranian Hospital at al-wasl. they give the medicines/injections free.
