Farm Bureau customer service

How hard is it to cancel a policy, obviously extremely. The people on the phone are unable to help you and just continue to give you the run around. I talked with 4 different people and all of them said I won't help you call your agent. All I wanted to do was cancel the policy, maybe there is a reason I don't want to speak with the agency. If you would like help don't get Farm Bureau, you will be waiting a very long time.

We have had Farm Bureau Ins since 1976 and never had a major claim till this year we had a fire which the fire dep. didnt even try to save the metal building... First the man who came out to look tried to blame us for it, which was a big lie, I am 74 yrs old grandmother and was the only one at home at the time the fire was reported by neighbors, my thing was how did they see the fire to call it in when I now they couldnt have seen it when it first started...After months they paid for contents and found every reason to not pay for the building. All these years being a faithful customer and then just yesterday they canceled our policys, not warning us and we were told other insurance comp. wont touch us because of fire... They never investigated the fire either. its been an emotional ordeal plus losing so much in the fire...Farm Bureau in Mena Ar. their agents should not be trusted, they lie about your coverage and they never take care of their long term customers.. Very upset over our treatment which clearly is over money and hearsay...B. Sullivan

Farm Bureau claims

Last year we had 2 dead trees from our neighbors fall on our chainlink fence at two different times. The first was paid for by the neighbor's State Farm Insurance. The second dead tree's owner had Farm Bureau Insurance, just like we did. Farm Bureau sided with the neighbor who told them it wasn't dead, so FB paid our claim, minus the thousand dollar deductible which went against us. I produced video of the dead tree and still the claim was against us, so I hired an arborist who stated it had been dead for quite some time. I paid the arborist $100. After further review by FB headquarters, they determined it was dead and sent us a check for the deductible, but not for the arborist which I should not have had to hire in the first place. Then, we get a letter stating that we had filed too many claims in a certain period and they had the right to cancel our insurance. We had FB insurance for over 30 years and I had just paid it, so I switched companies, requested a refund which turned out to be almost twice the thousand dollars they tried to steal from us. I changed companies before they had the chance to cancel, as I have heard you will have a hard time getting coverage if you are cancelled. I've been told by several people that I should still sue them for breach of faith, as they were not looking out for us, but the almighty dollar.

Thanks for the tip about State Farm. We get many solicitations from their agents in town, all different agents in the span of a couple of weeks. They must automatically send these out willy-nilly at certain times of the year for all their agents in town. I will continue to toss them into the trash.

Farm Bureau Denied claim

My home burnt on March 25, 2013 while my children and I were out of town 600 miles away and our exchanged student was in Chicago ill. The house was ruled as electrical by the local city fire dept, but the investigation obtained by Farm Bureau stated an unknown cause of origin. After 3 months of getting no where and using a service that is registered with the better business bureau, I have had to hire an attorney to represent me. I have 2 children whom are 12 and 8, and our house fire was a complete loss. I had had 110, 000 in insurance until 3 years prior when we had a pool installed and our agent came out to inspect the property and he suggested that the home was under insured and we needed to increase the insurance to replacement insurance of 175, 000. After his suggestion and much consideration I did so.i contacted the corporate headquarters in writing after the fire as instructed to do with a written request for a copy of my policy and received a small pamphlet with very minimal info pertaining to my actual policy, I then contacted the local office and they stated they would hv to speak with someone to see of they would be allowed to get a copy to me. My agent ended up calling me back and advised Le I was not entitled to a copy of my policy, then he informed
Me I was given one when I took the insurance out and that I should still have access. He continued to go into detail with I was greedy and knew my home was over insured and I needed to take what I was offered and just be thankful I got that. And I haven't even been offered anything, I have sent multiple emails to the adjuster with no return response. It is bad enough what one has to go through with loosing everything, but to have to deal
With the attitudes and drama of insurance companies on top of it is way too much! My exchanged student is 15 and was asked to
Come in for questioning about her contents list, I objected to this being she was a minor child, and her parents from Spain said absolutely not as we'll. the insurance company contacted the organization she came here through and had them to pick her up without my knowing and bring her in for questioning leaving me to answer to her guardian parents. I am not sure the rights of the law but this seems unethical and illegal!

This has got to be THE worst insurance company I have ever had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with. They insure unsafe drivers who blow through stop signs causing you thousands of dollars worth of damages. Then when they receive a police report that clearly states that their policy holder is at fault, they take absolutely no responsibility for damage...

Farm Bureau Car Accident

Like many others on this forum, I too experienced poor customer service from Farm Bureau. If I was looking for an insurance company, I would not NEVER USE FARM BUREAU AS MY CARRIER. I was involved in an auto accident (not my fault) with a driver insured with Farm Bureau. Farm Bureau did not contact me regarding the claim and left all the work up to me to repair my car. After making the initial call, I was asked THREE different times to submit information about the car, including estimates and even taking my own pictures of the damage. This was all through email. I never received a call, a claim number, or even so much as a "I am sorry you are having this problem." I ran all the errands when the accident was not my fault. Finally, after gathering all the information for FB, I asked for compensation for the efforts I made and the loss of use of my vehicle. FB claims adjusters did not want to pay me a dime, even though I had done most of the work to resolve the claim. They were very rude to me, in an attempt, I think, to just "make me go away." Clearly, they care little for their company's reputation. I asked for money for a rental vehicle for the number of days I would be without my car. Instead of working with me on that, I was asked time and again to drive a damaged vehicle, which is illegal in some states, not to mention that it puts the driver and passengers in greater danger if there is another accident. I had to explain why I was not willing to drive the car over and again. I was even asked what transportation I had since "I surely had not been sitting at home all this time." I thought this line of questioning pretty brazen, and I finally got the agent to understand that I had a spare vehicle, but would prefer not to use that vehicle for reasons of fuel economy. Then, the agent began to question me about the amount of time that I would be without my vehicle. I had explained that the body shop was busy and could not repair my car for 2 - 3 weeks. I spoke with two different agents about these issues - rental fee and repair time. Neither agent contacted the body shop to confirm anything I stated. Instead they told me time and again that my claim was ridiculous and they were being asked to pay too much. No person from the insurance company ever came to look at my vehicle, making judgements about the car's drivability and safety just from one photo I took myself and sent to them. They claimed that it would not take that long to get the car repaired, essentially calling me a liar. They made this assertion based on their "experience, " not on fact. I documented everything said and the manner in which it was said. One of the agents was so rude to me that I ended up in tears at the end of the conversation. I finally talked with a manager at the regional level who apologized in an attempt at damage control. However, I never got the settlement I asked for. All they did was repeat the same statements again and again. This worked for them because in the end, they are writing the check. It matters not that their driver is at fault, that you have done all their work for them (essentially doing their job for them), or that you are enduring the hardship of the loss of your car. The thought that ran through my mind time and again was, "this accident is not my fault, and I am doing all the work and enduring all the stress." So, if you get in an accident with someone who uses FB, I recommend that you keep a journal and get ready for a battle. This company does not care about you or anyone else for that matter. All they care for is making money and they do not want to give wronged drivers what they deserve. Tell your friends and everyone you know. Don't buy Farm Bureau Insurance, that is unless you enjoy verbal abuse and being treated like a number.

I had the same type of experience. One of their policy holders rear ended me at a red light in San Marcos, TX. The damage was minor and she was very apologetic and admitted fault. I contacted them the same day of the accident and started a claim. She also contacted them and filed a claim, corroborating what I said happened. They have slow walked my claim and also take their time to return calls. It’s been 9 days since the accident and not a word from anyone except to tell me who the adjuster is in my area. The accident occurred 150 miles from where I live and the adjuster my claim is assigned to where I live has yet to call me. I went ahead and filed through my insurance so I could get my vehicle fixed. It is currently being repaired and I’m driving a rental car. So, I guess Farm Bureau Insurance will get to pay my insurance company for the claim. They will also be reimbursing my $250 deductible, too.

Farm Bureau CANCEL POLICY

I had multiple policy with farm bureau and had a house fire in sept 2009. It took them 8 months to settle the claim and that was after having to get a lawyer involved. Now if that is not enough I received a letter in the mail saying they are canceling my auto policy after a yr after claim due to excessiver loss. I cant believe after paying my policy for 10yrs and this is how they handle their customers. I will never recommend this insurance company to anyone.

Been with FB for more than five years. I have perpetual issues with updating my information on cars and farm. Even took a four hour visit to the office and had no resolution. They billed me late (after the due date), failed to notify me that I had been canceled for 21 days after the policy was canceled (on a two month old car!), and then failed to make policy changes for more than a year. I canceled this week after I received, in the same mail, a cancellation of policy notice AND a bill for the same policy. Done and done with these bums!

I have been with KFB for over 40 years. I have had as many as 12 polices at the same time. I have never missed a premium payment. They claim my payment for Feb was late and the canceled insurance on 7 cars. There was no warning or grace period. I received a notice 5 days later that it had been canceled. I drove 5 days without insurance and didn't know it. That is BAD business. They told me that with their System It cancels on the due date if not paid. I didn't read the fine print on the new billing statement.

If anyone starts a HATE page on KFB count me in.

Our home in Ft. Worth, Tx was recently burgalarized. The door was kicked in, jewelry in excess of 10, 000 was stolen as was a gun collection worth 5, 000. I've just now learned, that my so-called insurance on household contents is virtually worthless. There is a 500.00 limit on jewelry, which is nothing and the excessive loss does not even count towards my...

Farm Bureau Failed to Pay on Home invasion

It has been a year and a half since our home was broken into in December 2006, 3 days after Christmas i might add. We have been with Farm Bureau for over 5 years and we also insure our cars with them. Immedietly after our home invasion we called our insurance company and filed a claim for all of the damages in the home and for everything we had lost. The night of the burglary we were told by the police to write everything down that we could remember that had been stolen from the home. Photographs were also taken of everything that night. In the next few days one of Farm Bureaus representatives came out to the house to speak with us about the incident. A tape recorder was used to record the discussion between the rep and our family. After all of this and waiting almost 6 months to get a response we finally recieved a letter from Farm Bureaus Attorney saying they need to get statements from the entire family. So we went to their law firm which was almost an hour away.. we waited there for almost 5 hours.. each person took almost an hour and a half just to ask a few questions. Even after all of this we recieved a denial letter in the mail stating that our claim has been denied. And the best part is, is that they had absolutely no reason to deny the claim, they just did it because they can. We didn't hesitate to hire a lawyer soon thereafter. So we are still waiting to see what is going to happen. Im writing this to let people know that is company is FRAUD. I don't understand what the point of having insurance is if you can't be covered for things that happen to peoples homes everyday. I am very disgusted by the way this was handled and i will never recommend this company to anyone. There is a major problem with many insurance companies in the USA and people don't realize it until something like this happends to them. Thanks for listening.

My experience with the Grand Rapids Michigan office is as follows. I make a claim the rep calls and sets an appoint to view the home damage a week later. After taking off work, he calls that morning to tell me, it would be more "efficient" for him if he can come out to view the damage two days later. He states that he only has my call and again it would be more "efficient" for him. I tell him no and basically have to demand he appear. I call my agent who calls me back to say he is on the way so the problem should be solved. Additional damage to the house is found, claim made, claim rep calls to tell me that he is going on vacation and it will be two weeks before he can make time to view this damage. Okay, schedule time off work, I call the night before the meeting to confirm he is coming. Rep states his father had died and he had not come to work all week. Fine, but someone from this big company must be taking over his duties. Basically, he failed to call me and no one from the company would set in to assist. Yes, due to my calls, a construction guy was sent out to view the damage but despite stating he would put a tarp on the roof, that has not occured.

If my agent had told me that each claim would be inspected at least a week from the damage and that the company was working on such a shoe string budget that if the claims adjuster has a personal problem their is no back up, then do you really think I would have purchased their insurance product? No Way

Our house burned on 7/9/2003. farm Bureau delayed our claim for six months, then denied it and sued us for not providing requested documents, and for misrepresenting our losses. Their suit lingered on for a year, so we filed a suit against them for Breach of Contract and vexatious refusal to pay. Farm Bureau used delay tactic after delay tactic, and...
