gas payment / poor customer service
A Mastercard Gift Card worth $25.00 was offered as payment for a gas purchase totaling $29.33. The location took place at store #1325 and the transaction # was 503417. The dark haired girl entered $29.33 and as you can assume, the $25.00 gift card was declined. She informed me that the card was not valid in front of a line of customers. When I presented her...

On 6/11/12 I purchased two $50.00 Mastercard gift cards from a local supermarket in cash, plus the $4.95 activation fee for each. They were lost. The supermarket tried to get me the full number on the card, since the sales receipt, which I have, shows: Blackhawk and a bunch of X's and the last four digits. I have tried many numbers, as has the supermarket manager, but to no avail. The number the tech at Blackhawk (a distributor of these cards?) was not valid according to all of the Mastercard and MetroBank people I've called. I am at my wits end since I do not know what else to try.
Please offer advise. Thank you.

they deduct fees the same day?
I got lazy and sloppy; tried a mastecard from a grocery store a couple blocks away, instead of re-loading a visa card at walmart a couple miles away. I'd buy cheap dvds off amazon, make sure to count the sale and postage---but the final sale wouldn't go through; amazon would e-mail about, seemingly, not enough money on the card. I bought one or two card...

There is nothing you can do. It is not possible to retrieve a lost gift card with the numbers (even if you had the complete set of numbers).
If it was possible, it would be abused for fraud:
1. Scammer buys gift cards
2. Scammer sells gift cards on craigslist/kijiji
3. Scammer pockets the cash, then calls the gift card company to report the cards lost or stolen
4. Original gift cards are cancelled; craigslist buyer is ripped off
5. Scammer gets replacement gift cards
