hi, My story sounds very similar to another thats is on this site. I was in debt last year and could not afford to pay all my bills, so i rung yes loans for a loan to pay off all my loans so that i would only have one payment to make a month. Like other stories I was put through to money worries. They sounded so good and helpful on the phone and i felt...

Money Worries in total have taken near to £500 from me. After a phone conversation i agreed to allow them to help me consolidate my debts. I was told they would send me all the information I needed in the post for me to sign the agreement and tell them exactly how much I owed. without me completing the form they took £500 out of my account. When I phoned them and asked them why they took the money, they told me it was to consolidate my debts. I pointed out to them that they didn't even know who my debtors were so who exactly have they given my money to!
I have been fighting with them ever since to get a refund and they said out of good grace they will give me £390. I am still fighting for the full amount and the payment of £390 has still not materialised into my bank account or by cheque.
I think the only way to sort out your debts is to come to an agreement with the people you owe and haggle. I have done that and 5 months down the line I am almost out of debt. £300 to go. you need to be tight with those you owe money to and push them to the edge and they will then agree to negotiate. It can be slightly tedious and humiliating but you will be smiling when you are out of debt.

Linked to Yesloans.tv we were conned by them saying we had a loan, paid a fee and never got a loan. They put us through to Money Worries Ltd, at the time we thought we were still on the phone with Yes Loans. Unfortunately for us we weren't. Money Worries informed us that we couldn't get a loan, but could do a debt management program. They had my card details and said the upfront fee would be £822. £411 that day and £411 a month later, then we would start the new payment plan. They told us to stop our DDs and they would take the payment and we had to take out enough money from our overdraft to make it up to its limit. I said NO I suggested that when we opened a new bank account then we would let them know and then they could take the payment. They agreed that this would be OK. After speaking to them my husband and I had a long discussion and felt that we had been mislead, railroaded and pressured into doing this management plan, so I emailed early the next morning to cancel the plan and made it clear that even though they had my card details, a payment was not to be taken. They fully agreed with our decision. All sorted we thought, until the following Monday we found that £411 had been taken out. I was furious. I had an angry conversation with Money Worries and got no where. They were annoyed and couldn't understand why I had cancelled. I replied that as a customer I have a right to cancel. They were determined to get us to continue with the plan, as they did not want to refund the money. I have emailed them, posted a copy of the email to them and telephoned them to get a refund, but still have got no where. Time to take legal action. BEWARE OF DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANIES and LOAN COMPANIES REQUESTING UPFRONT FEE! - JUST DON'T GO THERE! By the way maestro payments can't be stopped by your bank, they can only be refunded from the retailer. So they probably knew that and thats why they took the money.
hello i need urgent advice, i am currently 3 months pregnant and rang yes loans yesterday as i have 2 grand of credit card debt and my minimum payment is only paying the interest.. i was suprised i was accepted right away and they didnt even need proof of pay slips! how amazing is that.. they then told me i needed to pay the fee which i think was 59.50 or 69 cant remember course i paid it as was so excited to get the loan, i was then transferred to money worries.. liam! he talked me out of the loan as i would be paying 2500 interest i said i didnt mind i want it cleared he talked me into the debt loan which seems great and still did up until he said it would be a fee of 90 odd i said oh i just paid yes loans he said aw its ok i can transfer that and take the other 30 odd from your credit card..
so all sounded great i was happy to pay 100 a month for 22 months then i got the pack this morning and suprise suprise first payment is not 100 which he told me its 299.50 wow funny that he didnt say and i asked him is it definately 100 he said yes - must of forgot to mention the 299. so i rang to be put on hold so gave up and sent them numerous emails to cancel they state we will give you a refund in 28 days, cant wait to see it. from reading peoples comments on this i know i am not going to get it. tonite i am putting it all in writing sending my forms back unsigned. i have read that no doubt they will still take the payments come next month HOW THE HECK CAN THEY DO THIS WHEN I HAVENT SIGNED ANYTHING. I really do not need this stress, so now i am in even more debt so i would appreciete peoples advice how they got their money back and how do i stop them taking 299.50 on 1st september.. many thanks
through money worries not acting as they promised by setting up an iva immediatelywe have since been bankrupt and lost our home still havent got our £500 back warning stay clear of these fraudsters
i got in touch with money worries spoke to ben price who said that he could arrange an iva for me to stop bankruptcy proceedings i paid £500 pounds to them immediately and said it would cost another £1000 before february and afurther monthly fee after as an iva payment i was made bankrupt three weeks after this conversati on with ben price they took £125 from account after we cancelled our arrangment with them. the £500 i tried to claim back but they said it has gone in fees even though they hadnt done anything for us they are nothing but toatal con merchants preying on the unfortunate people that they should be helping so warning do not deal with money worries no matter how vulnerable you are we were 66year old pensioners and they took our last pennies they are only after your money
I have been trying to get my money back since March 2010... in the same case as many of you, i was told about Backlogs etc... i reported them to the Financial Service Ombudsman and i finally got my refund after 5 months... honestly... dont bother with MW, go straight to the FSO and let them handle it!
Same Problem... end of Feb 10 i called Yes Loans for a consolidation loan... got put through to Moneyworries... Spoke to Liam Warner who was really nice and I agreed to let him send me out a pack. £375.00 had been taken from my account within the hour. When i received the pack and discussed with my husband, we thought the way they repay creditors just didnt sound right and they were adament that we should not talk to our creditors under any circumstances. I called Liam to change my mind, he was very very rude and demanded i put it in writing which i did. I got a letter back from them on the 1st March saying i would be refunded within 28 days... well hello 28th July... still no refund!... i have called and been on hold for 25 mins on average before i got through to somebody that just kept telling me there was a backlog but couldnt give timescales... I reported them to the Financial Services Ombudsman. Liam then called me and went through my complaint asking me why i had said this and why i had said that... i said to him, 'can i just have my refund' and he said 'we need to go through this before we can give you your refund' then he put me through to the Refund Co-Ordinator who also 'questioned' me about my complaint before telling me the reason why there was a backlog was because he had broken his leg and had to undergo several operations... [censored]! Oh, by the way, when i told him about all these forums and the hundreds of people that had complained about MW he said no there isnt, i check those forums everyday, so HI REFUND CO-ORDINATOR... I HOPE YOUR LEG IS OK! So anyway he said the refund will be in my account within 14 days. 14 days later it still isnt here. I called and spent 25 mins on hold before calling the FSO again and they said my case has been passed over to the investigations team and i will most likely recieve interest ontop of my refund... I will believe when I see it but fingers crossed. FSO advised me not to call them anymore as it stresses me out too much.
I too do not know how this company is still trading... its disgusting.
I have had exactly the same problem i have the police my bank trading standards and the financial ombudsman service i sugest you all do the same a hornets nest needs to be stired up at moeny worries and get them to stop business completely they are conning to many people out of money and causing more debt for them
Has anyone managed to get a full refund ? I have been chasing day in and day out for a refund of nearly £600 but with no sucess, i have even got the Financial Ombudsman involved. Dont know what to do next, they have even been investigated by BBC Watchdog in the past so how come [censor] like this are still trading and ripping people off !
I have until 15th of this month before they may try to take money from my account. I have cancelled my debit card and written to them registered post to state that I am not proceeding with their proposed agreement, advised them not to attempt to take any monies, not to contact any creditors and to delete my details from their files. Is that sufficient or anything more I can do to prevent them taking money? Thanks for any advice!
i phoned yes loans. i told them straight away that myself and my daughter were disabled and that i was so poorly i am on very high levels of morphine so i might find it hard to understand what they are saying and need things explained clearly. they said no worries i was immediately cleared for a 1000 pounds loan to help to consolidate some small but very expensive loans that were crucifying me. then he passed me onto someone else, who passed me onto someone else etc etc .Eventually i had been on the phone for over 3hrs and i told them over and over i was getting confused with the meds and how many times they had made me go over and over the same details. what i didnt realise was all the time they were keeping me on the phone they were taking money bit by bit off of all my credit cards untill i was maxed out on them all. I contacted all of them and was told that there was nothing i could do because i gave them the details.I kept repeating i gave no permission for money to be taken but that made no difference. the money they have taken from me was to cover the cost of mine and my daughters new motabilty car. what are we going to do now? if anyone knows how to help us. as i said we are both disabled and have long term illnesses and we are now more desperate than ever.Altogether they have had about £700 maybe more which i had built up on my cards to pay for my desperately needed motability car..Please Please contact us by email on ielite@hotmail.co.uk. thanks
