poor service, hold on funds without provided service
#3. Move - You are in complete control of your move since payment will not be authorized until the move is completed and you have given the Payment Code to the Moving Helper.
This is posted on the website! I have tried to schedule a move with these horrible people twice and have had nothing but rude, inefficient service. They have put a hold on my bank funds and wouldn't follow through with the order (can't "find" it in the system). Amazing that they can find my money! I had to wait five days for the release on the funds. My bank wasn't able to help. A person named "Alicia" has spoken to me and my husband. She is rude and condescending. They will not try to clear up the issue as to why they are holding funds but yet seem to not have an order. What's so sad is they are recommended by U Haul! I will never use this site again, buyer beware!
They cancelled my appointment
Don't use MovingHelp service, these people are terrible and highly unprofessional. I contacted them and made an appointment one month in advance and I was counting on them!
One day before moving I contacted them and asked if everything was fine and they said „yes”.
Next morning I was expecting them but for some reason no one showed up and when I contacted MovingHelp support service they said that unfortunately they had to cancel my appointment!
But the previous day they claimed that nothing was wrong and assured me that truck will be here on time!
No one explained anything, and I still have no idea what was the reason, they only apologized for all the trouble they caused and that's all. These people are unreliable and unprofessional, I am very unhappy.
movinghelp.com no responsibility policy
movinghelp.com is a subsidiary of U-Haul altho' they tell you that they are a separate company. (Sam Shoen and U-Haul are listed in WHOIS as owning the domain name.). They basically are a clearing house for moving help, they do not check on the movers listed but rely on customer reviews only. They take no responsibility for anything except taking your money. Any sense of responsibility beyond that is an illusion.
You are better off going down to the corner home improvement center and hiring day laborers off the street or looking in your local newspaper for high school students who want work. Or use movinghelp.com to find a mover who has high rating and use the mover’s name and location information provided to do your own internet search. I repeat, movinghelp.com sole business is just taking your money.
On September 18 2010, I used movinghelp.com website to find labor to load a truck. Movinghelp.com makes you pay for the services up front before you get a chance to talk to the mover directly. After processing my payment, I got the phone number and checked in with the mover. He told me that he did not service my zip code altho’ he is listed on movinghelp.com in that zip code. He then made sure that movinghelp.com updated his records so he didn't get referrals in my zip code. I appreciated his honesty.
When I then called back in to cancel my order, the gentleman who cancelled my order told me I'd get a full refund within 36 hours. When I looked at my account online 36 hours later, I found that I was not given a full refund but they held back $5.95. When I protested, customer service at movinghelp.com told me I had to review the completed job in order to get the $5.95. As there was no services rendered and I was told I would get a full refund, I continued to ask for the $5.95 back.
My issue is with movinghelp.com itself. Apparently no one in customer service is empowered to deal with this issue beyond what is in the script. When I asked to speak to some one empowered to deal with this issue, their answers were: 1. no supervisor in the office at this time and they didn't know when the supervisor would be in the office, 2. supervisor on the phone and they'd call me back. It's been two days -I'm still waiting 3. There is no president of the company, we're internet based (?!?). There's only a supervisor Richelle and one level above the supervisor David Valderrama 4. supervisor Richelle told me that's their policy and there's no way to get around it.
So the only way to get my $5.95 back is to review nothing.
Do not use movinghelp.com to find your mover as they do not take any responsibility for anything except taking your money! You are better off going down to the corner home improvement center and hiring day laborers off the street or looking in your local newspaper for high school students who want work.
