rebates online customer service
I have submitted macy's rebates, which RebatesHQ.com handles, by mail, after taking pictures of everything (filled forms, receipts, UPCs, envelopes) just in case...and know what? Some went through processing and some rebates never heard back about them... I tried contacting them through their portal, but it's a semi-automated one way communication: the agent just sends general replies, whatever you say, one reply every 10 minutes! So you ask a question or wait for something and he just reply with irrelevant general thing as "sorry for the delay" "sorry for the issue" "wait for processing", and just jump to "anything else that I may assist you with" or wait more time for me to leave! with no real reply!
A bot would be much more satisfying!
baad experience! Shame on Macy's to use them
Rebate fraud
I submitted a rebate for $140 toward Sage Peachtree Accounting Pro. I made a copy of the submission and obtained a certificate of mailing. I never heard back. I was supposed to have received an email for the submission and a postcard on the status. After several months I contacted them and they said it was rejected due to the date. I advised they were...

I have had the misfortune to file two different rebates with these guys, one for a Hitachi hard drive from newegg.com for $30 and one from Bed Bath & Beyond for $20. In both cases I preregistered on the web site and sent in all the required supporting material. The newegg rebate was rejected supposedly because the purchase date was wrong and the UPC was missing, when in fact the purchase date was correct and the UPC was obviously included in the submission, and the Bed Bath & Beyond rebate was rejected supposedly because the UPC was invalid.
I have used rebates for years and never had any problems. Now I've had two rebates rejected by these guys within a short span of time. If only one had been rejected, I might believe that they just made a mistake, but both? I have to conclude that they are trying to defraud on purpose.

THE [censor]S AT REBATESHQ.COM ARE NOT ONLY 100% COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT, BUT ARE THE REASON WHY PEOPLE SHOW UP WITH SHOTGUNS AND BLOW ENTIRE OFFICES OF PEOPLE AWAY IN AN ANGRY SHOOTING SPREE! THEY GIVE YOU THE RUN AROUND INCESSANTLY, THEN TELL YOU THAT YOU HAVE TO "WAIT A LITTLE LONGER". I'M ON THE PHONE WITH THESE [censor]S RIGHT NOW, AND 2 OF MY 3 REBATES FOR $20 X 2 HAVE BEEN SINCE 8.24.10, AND TODAY IS 1.20.11. THE 3RD REBATE FOR $40 IS FROM 11.30.10 AS WELL. ALL THREE ARE FOR PREPAID VISA CARDS. THE LAST TWO TIMES I'VE CALLED THEM, AND BELIEVE ME, YOU HAVE TO DIG ONLINE TO FIND THEIR 800# B/C THEY DON'T PROVIDE IT TO YOU, AND ABSOLUTELY IGNORE ALL EMAILS, THEY SAID, "OH, WE'RE SORRY, THEY'RE GOING OUT TODAY!"...THEN NEVER ARRIVE!
I'M ON THE PHONE WITH THESE [censor]ING IDIOTS RIGHT NOW, AND THE SO CALLED 'SUPERVISOR', WHOSE NAME IS "HAMLET"...YEAH RIGHT!...IS REPEATING VERBATIM WHAT THE IDIOT CSR TOLD ME. "OH, YOU JUST HAVE TO WAIT LONGER, AND THAT'S ALL I CAN TELL YOU RIGHT NOW". I'M WAITING FOR HIS 'MANAGER' TO GET ON THE PHONE, WHO HOPEFULLY ACTUALLY SPEAKS AMERICAN ENGLISH.
NO MATTER WHAT THE OUTCOME IS FROM THIS CALL, OR HOW IT ENDS UP, I'LL BE CALLING THE ATTY GENERAL'S OFFICE OF TEXAS TOMORROW, AS WELL AS FILING A COMPLAINT WITH THE BBB, WHICH I'M SURE THERE ARE ENDLESS AMOUNTS OF ALREADY. THIS IS WHY AMERICA IS SO [censor]ED UP, B/C THESE TYPES OF [censor] COMPANIES ARE ALLOWED TO NOT JUST EXIST, BUT GET AWAY WITH IT WHILE THRIVING!
I had 2 rebates for System Mechanics totaling $40.00 and purchased at Frys.com get rejected by rebateshq.com to a promo in October. The first one said I had exceeded the per household limit, which was wrong because they were looking at a prior offering that I remitted for in April. The second rebate was rejected because they said I had remitted a copy of the UPC, and not the original, obviously it was with the Household Limit Exceeded mailing, which basically made the second rebate null and void. This surprised me as well, I've been doing rebates for 10+ years and this is my first episode with rejected rebates and two at that. I did an online chat with Andrea(phone menu has no way to reach a person), who said the Limit Exceeded was because I had mailed to wrong promotion address( the one in April), which I told her I couldn't have due to the only mailing address I had in hand was the one from the current rebate offer. Further discussion was fruitless. I then e-mailed Frys.com and it has been 5 days and no reply to my complaint. Needless to say, if Frys does not respond, then sayonara from me and no more rebates that go to El Paso, TX. Jerry A.
