Not an Adobe Reseller
We purchased Adobe CS5 from SoftBuy. After several attempts to get a reciept, we finally got one (that I could have created in Microsoft Word). I was furnished a serial number. What I found more strange is that in addition to downloading the CS5 file, I also had to download a file called "Adobe Fix". You are supposed to run the Adobe fix file before installing the software. The Adobe Fix file is nothing more than a hackers file trying to break the Adobe CS5 file. Upon a conversation with Adobe, I learned two valuable lessons. 1) SoftBuy is NOT, I repeat NOT, an authorized reseller NOR a certified partner, 2) If the price seems a little low, and you have to fix the file before you install it, go get the real version from the software manufacturer themselves. Don't fall victim to this scam. Luckily we bought this just over a month ago, so we should still be able to dispute the charge on the credit card.

fraud
DO NOT FALL PREY TO SOFBUY (aka Grossline, aka...). I purchased AutoCAD LT 2011 online from SoftBuy and was furnished a fake serial number and product code for installation. The download instructions and installation instruction were minimal and obviously SoftBuy is not only selling pirate software but also not responsive to any inquiries regarding issues with installation. The only number is an 800 number leading to a voicemail, and any "noreply" responses to issues with the product are issued only to string you along long enough for them to complete the credit card transaction...then you're on your own left only with a useless program that does not work. Inquiries to Autodesk (AutoCAD) confirmed the illegitemacy of this pirate company, and my VISA already had the transaction blocked as they are aware of the fraudulant dealings of this fake company. DO NOT ORDER SOFTWARE FROM THIS COMPANY! You will lose your money...and more! After this company tried to charge my card for the initial purchase, they subsequently tried to re-run my card for multiple various amouts different from the original purchase amount. I cancelled my card today and filed complaints with teh Federal Consumer Trade Commission.
Ditto that!

i checked this out with my nephew. it's a shame that this site can't be shut down, but USA can't do anything about it because it's actually based out of germany. the following is copied and pasted from http://network-tools.com.

Trace complete
Purchased Rosetta Stone. I already have a copy bought from Rosetta in a box but its only level one. They don't do an upgrade deal and only supply in a box (which I don't want).
Downloaded OK but wouldn't install. Asked for help and got a link back to their "customer care" site. It almost never works - just sits there spinning a cursor forever. Just occasionally however it comes alive and I saw that I had a useless link which said to download again.
Since then, it hasn't come alive and I haven't been able to even get as far as logging on.
This is clearly a scam site. I've lost my money - don't lose yours.
Where is this company now? I purchased Office 201o Pro last year and now it is saying that it expires soon!
I purchased MS Visio 2003 download version. It loaded quickly, no issues. Billing came only once. Worked great. I personally will consider them again.
I ordered Adobe Audition 2.0 from SoftBuy about 5 days ago, and was set up with a download and serial number.
The serial was enough to get the program installed, and then I went to the Activation page, on which was entered the serial
and the Response Code. I was instructed to send the Response Code to the Helpdesk, and they would let me know the
Activation numbers. I sent what they wanted immediately, because I needed the program urgently.
No reply was forthcoming, despite me sending an e-mail (politely) asking them to get a move on.
No reply, and I fear this the last I shall hear from them. I suspect they are using a Keygen
which takes all of 5 minutes to get the Activation Code, given that all the other entries were complete.
I have an uneasy suspicion that I shall have to bid goodbye to what is a considerable sum in $NZ.
I just did business with them and had no trouble at all. In fact, I even got me money back from them because I couldn't figure out how to open it up once I downloaded it. The guy was very helpful in his emails, just the timing was off. I was in ahurry and needed the program right then so went to Office Depot and bought a hard copy before Softbuy got back to me with an email. He was very helpful in getting me set up with a refund, and said monies were returned to me.
thanks for the info about softbuy... unfortunately when it sounds too good to be true it probably is... what i dont understand is why the software companies have not taken this guy to the cleaners when you consider what companies are involved!

I too was taken... bought Microsoft Office Word 2010 (64-bit) for $39.95. I was provided an Invoice number and a Registration Key, along with instructions on how to install... Needless to say, when I went to validate the Key it wouldn't take it. After talking to a Customer Service person at the Microsoft Store... looks like I was S.O.L. and would have to repurchase the program. Do not purchase from SoftBuy, LLC. You will get 'doopt' like the rest of us! (Actual purchase was made in Oct. 2012)
Softbuy scams! I recently had to replace my hard drive losing all of my software exc. I tried to get my serial numbers from the softbuy website to reinstall, they erased my account and didn't respond to any of my emails. They rob people that cannot afford the full versions of software programs with the art of temptation. Carma will catch up with these crooks and there business will go down!
Please don't waste your hard earned money on softbuy they will rob you!
How did you resolve this as I was duped also.
