It started from the beginning, signed a lease and screwed from then on. The day THEY planned for us to move in we showed up. The guy that had been in the house was still there. When he finally moved out, we moved in. What's missing here? The cleaning! That's right, we moved in to a house with someone else's pubic and body hair all over the place. They eventually had someone stop by and clean but how good of a job can you do with a house full of furniture? Disgusting!
Our next issue was with getting cable TV. We couldn't get our own cable set up b/c the previous tenant hadn't disconnected his yet! I'm not sure who's responsibility that is but I know its not ours. It took a few days to get done.
Next, I came home after work one day to the sound of the ADT home security alarm system. That annoying high pitch that wakes the dead? Yeah, that one! Called Texcen (or Mandy, our liaison) but she didn't know the code to disarm it. So I called ADT and since I was not the home owner all they could do was give me a code that will shut off the alarm, but at the same time it sends a signal to the Austin Police Department that we were being held hostage. So about 20 minutes later, I had to try and calm down 2 officers standing sideways on each side of my front door telling them it’s a false alarm. They questioned me and searched the house until I could find some mail to show proof that I lived there. This exact same episode played again a few days later. Texcen eventually got the code from the owner. Good times! L
A few weeks later, I get a bill from the city of Austin (I think it was) saying I owed a few hundred dollars for not having the alarm system registered with them. I notified Texcen, they notified the owner, and our rent went up $75 every month.
We’ve had a few other problems go on but I’m tired of typing so I’ll finish with this most recent episode. Our hot-water heater needed replacing. A week later it was replaced, and our rent went up another $75 to a whopping $1450! I’ve wanted to move since our first lease expired but the pain in moving was almost equal to the piss-poor service Texcen Realty provides.
TAKE MY ADVICE FOLKS! STAY AWAY FROM THESE “PEOPLE” THEY WILL ONLY DISAPPOINT YOU!

Be careful with these guys managing your property. It has been a nightmare having these manage my properties. Since Joe Davis had been managing my properties, it has been an endless amount of avoidable expenses, lack of communication etc. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, but his continued negligence and lack of communication has caused me...
