After moving into our new home, we signed up for Safe Touch Security in August of 2021. The salesman never mentioned there was a required length of contract. The handwritten paperwork that we were given that day does not say anything about a 3 year contract. After installation, 5 days later we had problems with our sensors and a technician had to come out and redo the installation. Again, in October we had sensors falling off and another technician came out. Then again in December, sensors were malfunctioning and a technician came out. Now, September 2023 we are moving. I have called twice to cancel our service, and I am now being told that I signed a 3 year contract on a tablet. After explaining that the consultant never mentioned a 3 year contract I was told it says the length of the contract on page 9 of my agreement. After explaining that I do not have any agreement, just the paperwork that the consultant gave me, they suggested I try to turn over service to the new owners. I explained that I did not even know the owners and would not turn over service that kept malfunctioning. I was then told my only other option was to pay the rest of the contract even though I was not using it. I will never use Safe Touch again or recommend such and underhanded company.
Desired outcome: Cancel service.
