Hello, I have used Scott Tissue toilet paper since 1980. I now am stopping, at first the rolls were getting thinner and thinner, so I began buying the “soft” I now no longer am a customer. I officially will not be giving Scott toilet paper product anymore chances unless you make it like you did in the 80′s, it was never super soft but I do not need that. I wanted the product that had value that I used to be able to purchase. Thank you!
"Tissue with an Issue!" My Wife and I have used the Scott unscented bathroom tissue for 37 years. During the last six months the product has become a real problem. Portions of the very thin toilet tissue have rolled up and found their way in to my Wife's vaginal canal. This has on two occasions caused a vaginal cyst. My Wife has no medical history of this happening in her lifetime. We are VERY upset with the company, who has obviously chosen to reduce the quality of their paper products in what can only be assumed to be a monetary savings.
Here I thought my wife was the only one.At first I was thinking no way but now with with reading yours...wow unbelievable something needs to be done about this issue
Agree with comments. So sorry about wife's issue w/tissue! :(
Used Scotts over 35 yrs. first for use in septic system then it was THE best. Now even local Dollar store sells it. A "new and improved" slightly softer version. Of course the roll is a fraction of the size and after about 3 days, it's empty! Yes right "1000" sheets BUT need twice as much. What gives? After my stockpile is finished, NOT buying again!
Yes. This happens here, too.
I found this Web page because I too agree that Scotton 1000 is so thin now, I have to use twice the amount. I'm done buying it. Cheap companies!
im horrified at how thin scotts has become! its previous quality was y we purchased it- ive bought my last pack! im not happy anymore!
I cannot believe companies are allowed to deceive their consumers. Although I haven't bought Scotts in a few years, it hasn't been so long that I don't remember the quality. This cheapened version is as thin as tissue paper, and I'm going back to Cottonelle.
We are 70yr olds with family of 4 grown children who has used Scott tp since our potty training days, It has gotten more than half as thick as before, less product more profit. I'm changing after more than half a century of use. How can they make more money if the baby boomers stop buying their product? We'll pay more money for a better product, NOT Scott's!
I completely agree with all complaints, I've been using Scott toliet paper since 1977, I stopped using it a year ago, because it's so thin, I have to use twice as much, and it still falls apart while I'm wiping myself. I'm done. Went to a different Brand, very happy again, my toliet paper last forever now, not buying it every week, it's only me and my hubby, a 12 pack of toliet paper the one I'm using, last us 3 weeks. I use Charmin ultra strong, and Walmart Brand ultra strong, when Charmin isn't available, both last the same amount of time. Very, very happy again. Scott Brand you ought to be ashamed of yourselves, and you have the nerve to go up in price. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
I am in the same boat! Been using this since 1883. Do they really think we do not see this as a ploy to say we are keeping the price the same! We are not that stupid. I will find another product.
I googled this because I have used scott tissue for years and now I am buying it really often and am not happy with how much more thin it is. Moving on to another brand.
Too thin now. Will not continue to purchase. Been buying faithfully for decades.
What the heck I don't want to wipe with my finger I have bought this for 38 years an now it's the worst ever..why would you let your product get so bad...cuting corners or cuting back does make happy customers or sales...Shame on you
I hve always used scott for rve value and lasted long. It has gotten so pAper thin, guess i need to discontinue.
I also have been using this product Scoot 1000 for over 20 years. This product has gotten so thin it is unusable. I will be switching to another product. Kimberly-Clark you have made a change to this product that it NO LONGER SERVES ITS PURPOSE.
I have been buying Scott's for 35 years and apparently whoever is running it now thinks people are just plain stupid. They have lost my business and will lose the business of every one I know that uses. I sure am going to spread the word.
I have used Scott toilet paper 1 other time and now I remember why I stopped buying it. It is very thin and I'm not sure what it can be used for but I will never Buy it again.
Agree with all the above comments. They tried selling “Scott 1100” which was awful. Now they simply selling Scott 1000 but in reality it is the same horrible 1100 stuff. Lifelong Scott user. Now I need to make a change.
It's not necessarily only the thinness of the product that has become a problem, it is the consistency in the quality of the paper itself. With several recent purchases, the paper is actually "harder" than normal and when it unrolls it is not nice and flat but has ridges throughout.
I wondered if it was just me! I am so disappointed with how thin it is. Not sure if the actual square is smaller, but I just can't accept this and I will be changing after MANY years of use.
Ive used Scott Tissue all my adult life (72). Not for the softness but for the value. I now buy at SAMS club and recently you’ve increased the number of rolls. I just recently bought the 36 rolls and have found the toilet paper no longer holds up. I’ve noticed with the last purchase of Scott Tissue, while wiping now, If a drop of pee/water touches it, it disintegrates or crumbles And you practically end up wiping with your hand. Even though it was not soft, At least it was durable but no longer has even that quality. I will be looking for another brand. Who needs additional rolls. Would rather have less with the tighter weave. Your aim I guess it to make people have to use more, so you can make more money. I’m tired of manufacturers scamming the consumers. People notice, but not enough people complain but just go along with the producers of food and other products scams. With food, they give you less and but also raise the price. Clothes they even make with weak spots so they are not even fit to pass on. I will post my complaint on Facebook and I will be looking for a different brand because to use yours I might as well be using my hand.
I have used scott toilet paper for many years. I do not like the fact that it is not perforated any more. I usually buy 8 or 12 roll packs. I do not understand why this happens. Please check into this problem. Thank you

I have been using scott toilet paper for 50 years. The product is horrible anymore so thin and cheap. I will no longer be buying this product...Time to change brands. Very disappointed.
I have been a Scott purchaser for 30+ years. I thought that maybe I had purchased a bad batch or two (I buy in the large packs. But after this most recent purchase, I could no longer question that the paper is definitely much thinner and no longer services properly, leaving rolled up crumbs to find their way into places they should not be and causing health issues. I always thought Scott prided itself on excellent quality for value and service. That has obviously changed.
I will never purchase Scott 1100 sheets per roll again. It’s the type of product that a cheap roadside
Establishment would use. The high price I paid does not justify the poor quality. What a rip off.
Looks like others agree.
After using Scott for 30 years I am done. The paper is now so awful that I went on-line looking for reviews for what brand to buy and found this blog. I agree with most of the above comments. Scott is now Very poor quality and I won't be buying it again.
I am in complete agreement with everyone on this post! I have used Scott for over 30 years, but not any more. In fact, I am careful to avoid any TP made by Kimberly Clarke because it's the same company that produces Scott tissue. I hope that by cutting corners so thin, that Scott tissue feels an equal reduction in their sales. Until Scott tissue fixes this issue I will not be purchasing their product again.
I've been buying Scott toilet tissue for 40+ years but this last purchase is unreal! I buy a package of 27 rolls ... there were at least 3 or 4 rolls that were not right. tears off at 3 sheets, direction turns around, can't find a beginning on the roll, plys seem pretty thin compared to other purchases...folds in the tissue...if it didn't cost so much I wouldn't complain but it's expensive to me.
maybe something is wrong with one of the machines?
i
I know exactly what you mean. The other day I was unrolling Scotts off the roll to use it and all of a sudden it changed direction and started to roll backwards. It reminded me of Poltergeist. The last thing I need in my bathroom is an unfriendly goblin. I won't buy Scotts again.
I had never purchased Scott toilet tissue that I can recall, I made the mistake of purchasing a 20 pack of the Scott toilet tissue when there was a shortage. I gave a roll to a neighbor and he even commented it was horrible. I'm strongly considering not finishing the entire package.
Have been a diehard Scott TP user for over 50 years. Continued to tout value and softness for a number of years even though I noticed family members began bringing their own TP when they visited. Well... I'm finally throwing in the towel (TP)! Scott did away with the perforations and now it's almost impossible to pull off a useable portion of paper. I was a faithful customer, even when the 1100 sheeter started getting thinner and thinner. But this lack of perforated sheets is unacceptable. I'll be trying out different brands, perhaps at Aldi. Scott is no longer worth the trouble it causes a 72 year old woman with arthritis.
I've used Scott toilet paper since the 60s when I was a kid! Now it suddenly is so thin it is almost unusable. The new version is one-ply so I'm guessing the traditional Scott's was two-ply. If Scott's is reading this, I hope they know that consumers would be happy (just speaking for myself) to pay a bit more and get a decent thickness of toilet paper. I won't be buying it again. In fact, the off-brand supermarket toilet paper is much better. I'll be buying that from now on. Sorry to see Scott's declining; it was always such a quality item.
I've been using Scott's since the 60s when I was a kid. It was always a quality item. But these days, it's no longer 2-ply, but a skimpy one-ply that is so thin it's almost unusable. Even the off-brand supermarket brand is much better than Scott's is, and I'll be buying that from now on.
Yep, I have quit team Scott for all the reasons posted. I have been a loyal customer for decades. This is a perfect example of corporate greed and will not spend my hard earned money on such a poor quality product.
I, too, have observed noticeably thinner Scot TP in the last 6 months. In addition, it will not tear off easily and the tear lines are a joke. You try to tear it, and more and more just gets pulled. We are going through a roll every 2-3 days…sometimes just 1.5 days! And more small pieces are remaining on US, vs. staying wadded up for flushing. I hope Scot will go back to the original. It wasn’t fancy, but it worked well and lasted longer. Typical tear shown in picture.
I agree. To help combat the dishonesty in the paper industry, I recently purchased a portable bidet from Amazon that drastically reduces the amount of toilet paper used and leaves you cleaner. It was tough to get my head around the idea at first, but after a few uses, I am hooked. Check it out. Cheers.

Recent changes have resulted in absolutely poor quality. Each toilet tissue is as thin as gauze. Totally unacceptable. The brand has been ruined. I have been using Scot Toilet Tissue all my life but I will no longer be purchasing it. It is now a waste of money.
The recent changes to the quality of Scot Toilet Tissue have made it totally unacceptable and not worth the cost. It is now gauze thin and not worth using. I have used Scot my entire life and will no longer purchase it. Who ever is responsible for ruining this brand ought to be fired.
Scott toilet paper was thin but usable to begin with, however whatever changes they made are HORRIBLE... the current toilet paper is so thin it nearly disintegrates as soon as water touches it, so imagine what happens when you use it for its main purpose!... with the inflated cost of everything these days, everyone who purchased this new and terrible product they've been putting out should be offered a full refund!
