Here I thought how simple could it be to get a car picked up from point a to point b. It transpires by shiply, impossible. Did my due diligence and read almost all the hype from the owner/proprietor about how they vet they're couriers and make sure they're trustworthy, honest and reliable and they follow up a strict vetting of all there couriers.

My saga started on 31st july 2024 wednesday, contacted shiply they took a deposit and an insurance extra. I accepted the quotation and paid. This was for after 10 am thursday the following day. I never had any contact from the driver unitl 11.50 am telling me has nearly there and his two hour drive (thats actually an 8.5 hour drive at best in a van) for my pick up. He proceeded to tell me he's not going to pick it up if it's not paid for, I proceeded to tell him it was all arranged and would happen smoothly how long will you be he said he wasn't sure about half an hour. What lies he hadn't even attempted he was on another job and he couldn't be honest. I waited until the seller rang me and told me the driver said he isn't doing it and aborted the job. I rang him he was rude and said his boss said don't bother there's another job!

So much for shiply customer service and they're vetted, reliable, trustworthy couriers. On reporting this to shiply they said thry'd get back to me in 6-8 hours. The following day 20+ hours on nothing. Then after putting a bad review on trustpilot they dis the same from a n other person in customer service and she just did the same, sent me a standard oh were sorry but no mention of them refunding the money they took. It was they're vetted courier who aborted the job with no reason whatsoever.

If this is the way this company expect to get good reviews, they need to up the quality of they're service, because mine was absolutely shocking.

Desired outcome: Refund , but I won't be holding my breath .

As you can see here from these Reviews , Shipley is borderline a SCAM.

Blaming the poorly vetted cowboy courier , one man band , no show courier , they're a disgrace and give genuine hard working transportation companies a bad name . Although it appears the bigger they are the more devious they've become , hiding behind hard to contact , laughingly called department Customer services , WELL forget them they're just another scam to give the impression these dodgy transportation companies like Shipley , actually care , BUT THEY DON'T . Otherwise they'd call you back , have the decency to APOLOGISE AND ACTIVATE A REFUND QUICKLY.

The fact they don't SAYS IT ALL. Pity the guy who set this up isn't running it , because he may have a conscience , his son certainly HASN'T .
