Hello,
Today I went into the Shopper's Drug Mart on Beacon Ave in Sidney BC-there is only 1 shoppers in town.
I recently relocated to Vancouver Island.
I have been a customer at Shopper's Drug Mart for years and I have always had positive experiences.
Today when I got to the mall where Shopper's is I had a small white bag of some garbage and it was pouring rain outside and cold - Tues Oct 24 about 11 am. I looked around for an outside garbage and could not see one near me. I was freezing.
I ran into Shopper's because I wanted to get some lactose free milk and I saw a trash can and so dropped my garbage there. As I was doing my shopping the assistant manager ,S., came up to be and was not very nice and asked me if I put my garbage in their garbage pail. I said yes. She told me not to ever do this again and to put my garbage in an outside garbage container. She was almost rude to me. I said ok. I never do this -but it was raining heavily outside and I was cold. I continued shopping and when I went to pay for my items at the cashier S. refused to check me out and told me to go to self checkout . I was so surprised by her rude behaviour. I said I want to pay here and she refused. Finally another employee, Marlene, was called over by S. and checked me out. Another young girl was talking to her when I went to pay and S. was saying things to her about me.
I even went to the manager and told him what happened. He told me how she has the right to not check me out!
This is horrible customer service.
I have shopped at Shoppers all over the lower mainland and in Toronto all of my life and I have never had such a negative awful experience happen with employees and she was a manager as well. The man who was the manager supported her behaviour.
I don't know that I will ever go back to that store.
Desired outcome: An apology from both managers.
