Shoppers Drug Mart incompetent service

On Nov. 25th I went to the Leila and McPhillips Shoppers Drug Mart. I went in with my husband to quickly grab stamps and some items from the cosmetic department. I went to pay and was told I stamps are only available from cashier 1. No problem, we went to stand in line. There was one person ahead of us and one person being served. The cashier for this line was servicing the self checkout line. The line behind us grew larger. When 4 other people lined up behind us, the cashier finally got back to servicing cash register 1. There looked to be something holding up the person waiting there. Another associate came up and asked everyone in line, one-by-one if she could help them at another till. I said, "I'm getting stamps." She proceeded to tell me she could help me buy my other items if I wasn't getting bus tickets, lotto or stamps. I repeated that I wanted stamps. She kept trying to take me out of line to buy my other items. I refused. She then went to the lady behind me and had the same conversation. She actually dragged the woman's cart out of line and was pulling it to another line before the woman managed to get it through to this associate that she wanted lottery tickets. The associate then just pushed her cart back into line and walked away. Another associate came by and asked everyone the same questions again, trying to get people to leave the line for another till, only to leave when told that everyone needed bus tickets, lotto or stamps. The associate standing at till 3 kept shouting to another associate that she couldn't help anyone since they all needed things only till 1 could service. Eventually a young man went onto till 2 and said he could help us. My husband left to go into his line and ask if he could sell us stamps. When he said yes, I left the line too. A couple people in line went to switch lines with me as well. The other associates started to yell at people that they had to wait in line still. Then someone asked if till 2 could give bus tickets, stamps and lottos and they said yes, so we proceeded to move to the other till. (At this time the cashier on till 1 had served 1 person). The till was still blocked off and there was no way for anyone to reach register 2. The cashier finally noticed and moved the blockade. We were finally able to reach the till. As he pulled out the stamps, he noticed our other items and asked if they were all together or not. When we said yes, he told us we couldn't buy envelops from them but had to buy them from the post office. This was after 3 separate employees, who all saw we were holding envelops failed to mention we couldn't buy them there. My husband had to walk back to the post office and purchase them while I paid for the stamps and cosmetics. We spent 10 minutes in line to purchase three items. I have worked as a retail manager for 5 years and was shocked at the incompetents of the staff. Not only was there no communication as everyone in line explained to THREE separate employees that this was the only till that could give them what they came to buy, but staff were pulling on, shouting and treating the customers like they didn't understand anything. There were associates standing behind tills helping nobody while one till had a line up of 7 people! It took 10 minutes before someone opened up another till capable of servicing their customers. This should have been done way sooner, or all tills should be able to provide all services to customers. Also why was the cashier for the only register able to give stamps helping self checkout when there seemed to be other cashiers doing nothing? The cashier was very slow too. As a retail manager myself she should have been replaced with someone quicker to complete the line or had support faster. The Cashier on cash 1 was calling over to cashier 3 for help but cashier 3 just stood behind her till. It was very frustrating as a customer to stand for 10 minutes and watch 5 employees be incompetent at their jobs and waste a lot of peoples time.

Shoppers Drug Mart customer service

I have been Shoppers Drug Mart customer for more than 20 years. Unfortunately this time, the issue that I am encountered with the MasterCard gift card makes me very disappointed and even augury. I purchased $200 MasterCard gift card on September 11, 2018 at Shopper Drug Mart located on 265 Port Union Road, Scarborough, Ontario. The gift card was purchased for my nephew's birthday. On Saturday Nov, 3rd my nephew called me said that the card is not activated, so he can not use it. I do not believe what he said at beginning. Unfortunately later on, it was confirmed that the card really was not activated and the money was not entered in the card. It was late Saturday night when I first fund out the card was not activated, so I couldn't sleep well all night worried if I can not find the receipt. The second day, Sunday morning, I almost spent all morning looking for the receipt, luckily at the end I found the receipt and so I was relaxed. But when I went to Shoppers where I purchased the card, I was even more disappointed. They told me that they can not do anything about it. I have to contact the head office myself. Now here I am, after I contacted the head office, after I called head office, I was given a email to follow all the steps to reply the email. I need to do: Copies of the front and back of the card; Any and all packaging ; Copies of the Receipt and/ or Activation Slip; Consent to share information with Blackhawk; Full mailing address.

Though I have no choice but to follow what Shoppers requirements to replay the email, but I totally believe that it is so unfair what Shoppers has put a customer through because of their cashiers mistake.

After a week I received an email saying that they can not activate my MC so they will replace it. Considering what had happened previously, I requested a money refund instead of another card. A week went by I have not heard back from them at all.

Since Nov 3rd to Nov 15th, I have called Shoppers twice to request to speak to their supervisors, the girls at customer service listened to my stories, passed on my phone numbers and available time to call, but I never heard from any supervisors at all.

I am so very disappointed with shoppers and I am willing to spend time to tell others what I have been through...

Shoppers Drug Mart unethical behaviour

Hello,
Tonight, November 7th, I went to the Shoppers at Lawrence and Avenue where a representative of the beauty department grabbed a product from my hands and expressed that she thought I was stealing because of my looks. I had a water bottle in hand along with a few other products of cheaper quality. I was wearing a leather jacket that is a few years old and may come across as tattered. I had come from a long rehearsal and also may have seemed tired. When I went to get the product from the shelf in the higher-end skin care aisle she came up behind me, took the product from me (I originally thought she was helping since I had other things in my hand), and then told me I could come pay for it at the front with a rude tone and without offering to take the other things I had (again, if she had I would have maybe thought she was trying to help). I told her I could carry it as I had to go to the other end of the store for the other things on my list and it would be easier for me to pay for it there. She refused to give it back with a stern tone.

As a young student, I did not know how to react to this lady very blatantly expressing either that she thought I was stealing or that maybe she thought I was too poor for the product. When I went back to actually buy it, she glared at me.

This is the first time I've ever been treated with such disrespect from another human being. The explanation I'm giving here doesn't quantify how disgusting she made me feel for buying a product I've been using for years.

Please train your representatives not to make assumptions based on looks. Please train them to treat customers equally, even if they are in an upper class area. If anything, Please train them to be able to at least handle situations where they do make assumptions with ease and politeness.

Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacy

The service and quality of its services is atrocious. I had changed pharmacy to deal with shoppers drug mart, but their service and customer service is horrible. Either my medications were not ready on time, or I needed repeats and was informed of this fact and had to miss doses due to having to contact my physician and as we know that takes time.
When collecting my meds, I would be made wait a long time sometimes due to the staff being on the telephone, or too busy to serve me.
They also cater to a methadone clinic and these clients get served first at times.
Also, a few times I got the wrong number of pills or even the wrong pill.
I believe that this situation may lead to a very severe problem.

Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacy

I hate to complain because most of the people working there are great but I have experienced some issues that are extremely bothersome and suggest that there is a few employees that are underqualified and are stealing meds. I'm a 37 year old cancer patient who has an extremely rare form of ovarian cancer, I've underwent multiple surgeries and chemo treatments. I use the pharmacy at 959 Dundas Street Woodstock Ontario. Since this past summer I have noticed 3 incidents that are completely disturbing. The first one was that I had a refill for premarin, I called to have it refilled and then received a message stating that it was ready, so when I went to pick it up they claimed that I already did, which I haven't so I suspect an employee stole my prescription. The second time, while I was waiting for a prescription, I noticed a senior man at the counter, they refused to give him his prescription because they apparently already gave it to him, he started heading to the doors, and was very upset, they then realized they gave it to his grandson, apparently they have the same name but they didn't bother to check the dates of birth. This time I had to renew a prescription so I did as I was told and called them and they said they would contact my doctor, they then called back and said that can't renew it because it was a chemo clinic doctors prescription, so my doctor's office called on my behalf to have the request faxed to them so my doctor could sign off on it but they still refuse my prescription even though my doctor's office faxed them a new prescription. I'm extremely upset with the horrible service. I need my meds for a damn good reason and can't be without them because they steal and are lazy. I will be contacting the proper authorities to investigate as I have proof of my two incidents. I just thought you should be aware of the illegal mishaps at this store.

Shoppers Drug Mart staffing

Hello, I am writing as a complaint as I was a previous employee for shoppers drug mart. I was taken off the schedule without reasoning and without ever doing anything wrong that caused me to be taken off the schedule. Rather, the store manager is unprofessional as is the employee who requested that I be taken off the schedule simply because she had her own personal vendetta. The manager took part in this and started to only schedule me midnight shifts once a week and soon after she stopped scheduling me all together. Never once did I state that I wanted to quit nor did I hand in a resignation letter NOR did I request to have my hours decreased. It got to the point where I had to get two jobs because I was not getting any income while still putting myself through post secondary. Nothing was ever done about this and I had spoken to the store manager and he did not say anything to the beauty boutique manager. If consequences are not dealt with then I will be pursuing legal action.

Shoppers Drug Mart thursday senior discount

Today i attempted to purchase 2x4 gallon jugs of milk at the sdm on 88th avenue langley bc. They wanted to charge me full price off $9.34. And when i queeried the charge they just shrugged their shoulders so i left without the purchase.
I then drove to the sdm on 64 th avenue langley where i was treated with courtesy and for the same two items i paid $7.48.
My question is does the senior discount apply at the discretion of the store owner.
This is not the first time this has occured but it will be the last which is very inconvenient as the store caters to many serniors from the chartwell langley gardens complex most of whom do not have a car.

Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacy medication dispensing

Why does they take so long to dispense medication. Have to wait half hour for amoxicillin for baby at home whose temperature is 37.4 and rising. I know everybody is working hard, but when I told the pharmacy assistant Lydia, all she could say was we will try to get it sooner. That is not good enough for a sick baby. I would not want cometo shoppers in the future if they are so insensitive and late. There are plenty of private pharmacies, I come here for the name

Have you ever thought that you weren't the only person in the store, either sick themselves or getting medication for sick family members, that were there before you? Shoppers works as a first-come-first-served basis for people who are waiting for prescriptions.

Shoppers Drug Mart prescription

I brought a prescription October 29th 2018 at approximately 6pm. Returned October 30 2018 at 415 and they stated 10 minutes. Waited 15 minutes and asked again they told me another 10 minutes. Waited another 20 minutes and asked again they stated the pharmacist only had to put it in bag so I stepped away and let others go after they had passed 3 people after asked again if it was ready and they stated another 2 minutes. I left as my 15 month child had been freaking out the whole time in shoppers. I am not to impressed with this service my husband will now pick it up in an hour and a half and i hope it's ready. This gave them 22 hours to fill my prescription and once I showed up it wasn't ready they should have gotten it ready. It is not easy to get out with a 6 year old and 15 month old without them pulling tantrums

Shoppers Drug Mart flu clinic

SDM was contracted to run a flu clinic this past Thurs Oct 25, 2018 at the Sinclair Bldg (Van, BC) for the FNHA on the 5th floor in the first aid room.
There was a man and a young woman from SDM facilitating this clinic. The young woman administered my shot. Only later when I spoke with some of my colleagues did I find out that she was a student, and not a pharmacist.

1- She should have identified herself as a student and ask if I was okay to proceed.
2- Both individuals should have been wearing name tags to identify themselves.
3- I turned my head as she was pressing the plunger only to notice a large air bubble. This was not one of those little "champagne like" bubbles, but a very large one that should have been expelled.
4- She did not don gloves to administer my shot. It is best practice to wear gloves to protect oneself.
5- She did not landmark the inject site, but eyeballed it. This is not acceptable practice (especially for a student who has little if any practical experience).
6- She took the cotton ball (contaminated with blood that was used to apply pressure) in her bare hands.
7- I assume the man who was present was a pharmacist. However, he never spoke with me nor to the young woman. He also should have identified himself.
8- I noticed 3 or 4 filled syringes drawn up lying on the first aid bed with a started vial of Influenza vaccine. There was only one person after me filling out his paperwork in the conference room. The vial should have been stored in a proper cooler.
9- I was never offered a vaccination card nor proof of influenza vaccination.

I am horrified at the lack of safety and professionalism by SDM. Every person deserves the same level of optimal care, but not every person is aware of what that care should be. Consider that we are a Health Authority and a large number of the people who attended are nurses/ medical professionals.

I will wait one week for a satisfactory response . If I am not satisfied, I intend to bring this complaint to HR of the FNHA and will advocate for one of our nurses to to step in place of SDM to insure the safety of our staff.

Thank you

Shoppers Drug Mart cashier service

today, saturday october 28th i went into shoppers drug mart in bolton on 1 queensgate blvd. I wanted to do an exchange, i had my receipt with the item that was purchased yesterday. the cashier told me i could not exchange the product because it was from another store, regardless of having a receipt or not. she was very rude and seemed amused by the situation that she could deny doing a simple exchange. I came back and did the return with a different cashier at the beauty counter who was very kind. i'm very disappointed in the first girls very distasteful behavior. i'm very irritated by the encounter.

I think she should be spoken to about her customer service, and if she cant keep her attitude in check she should be kept in the back or given another job. I'm very disappointed.

Shoppers Drug Mart pc optimum points not counted for/ bounce sheets charged incorrectly

I went to 665 stone haven ave, Newmarket Ontario shoppers to take advantage of the 20X points on the optimum card. First the cashier didn't scan my pc optiumum card in the beginning of the transactions to get my points accordingly after she said she did, which didn't show my name or no. On the screen I paid and when she gave me my receipt no points had to return and she refunded me my money but kept my org. Receipt and gave me the refund receipt. Then processed the transaction again, and pic points accounted for but after I got home just this morning I checked my receipt after my Facebook Mom Coupon group with over 10K members said the bounce sheets were charged $3.99 instead of $2.99 and yes indeed she charged me $3.99 instead of $2.99. This is such an inconvenience on a customer not once but twice so now I had to go back to the location and they refused to give me the item for free, but I should be obtaining this item for free as it was scanned incorrectly under the "Scanner Price Accuracy Code" by law. So I did not obtain my refund of he correct amount and am expediting this matter. I hope you will be able to assist in the matter. I have the receipts to show the proof.

Shoppers Drug Mart floor walker incident

I want to complain about the even that occurred today in one of your stores. I go to shoppers all the time its right in front of my work, never has any issues but today October 26th 2018, My daughter visit the store to get some items. While in the store the "Floor Walker" made her feel very uncomfortable and made his job very very obvious what he was as he was watching her and standing close to her like she was going to steal. He is very unprofessional and discussing . I can tell he didn't have any experience. But my daughter thought he was a pervert following her as when she went to other isles he would follow her and run to the next one to see what she was doing. I understand you hire people to watch thief's but he needs to understand we are not the same or consider hiring someone with experience.

I do have to confess one thing though my daughter was caught about three months ago shoplifting in that very same store. I did punish her for it. I grounded her and she learned her lesson, so I am wondering if the tell the other security guards about her previous incident. I feel she is being discriminated against for her past crime. But she was punished at home and she was very scared when they caught her and won't be doing it again.

Shoppers Drug Mart your free parking.

The location address is 8065 104St. This location is supposed to have free parking for Shoppers customers. Recently a new Nova Cannabis opened. I visited last night and could not find a spot near the doors. I forgot that the back half of the lot is Pay Parking. There was nowhere near enough customers in the store to warrant that many vehicles. The line around Nova Cannabis suggests where all the spots have gone. I suggest you're PR and theirs get together as I will stop shopping there altogether if I have to shell out $14 for parking or in this case a $52.50 ticket on top of whatever I am purchasing.

Shoppers Drug Mart treatment received from your pharmacist (eileen leahey, phc) at mumford professional centre

I want to complain about the event that occurred today in one of your stores. I presented my script to the pharmacist at MFC; she said I have to check with the other pharmacist to see if we can fill this. She did not recognise the form. The second pharmacist said I do not know and handed it to a third older lady. The older pharmacist laughed and said no. I took my form and said I will fill it at the other Shoppers as I have in the past. As I was leaving; I heard the older member say "nice try" and laughed again. I then turned back and said; you know what, it is not ok. Can I have your card to follow up on this. She then tried to purposely give me someone else's card. I called her on it and then she gave me hers. You should know; I am a serving member of the armed forces for some 29 years now. I was in my uniform. I am not some dishevelled street person looking for a fix. My script is for 4 pills for an upcoming day surg. Your company should be ashamed of the dismissive attitude displayed by your staff member today. I will be following up on this.

Yours in good faith,

Sgt. Flexhaug Preece.

Shoppers Drug Mart itunes gift cards

Hello, I'm writing from [removed] in Edmonton. One of our staff fell victim to a scam where the fraudster pretended to be the CEO and asked her to buy ITunes cards on his behalf and send the numbers by email. She purchased $1000 in cards from your location at [protected] Avenue, Edmonton, however, the numbers were never sent to the fraudsters and the cards were not activated.

After speaking with Apple they have disabled the cards and suggested we should be returning them to you store for a refund. They said your store can then send back to your distributor to have them recharged at no cost to Shoppers. The store refuses to refund the cards so I am contacting you. We are a charity serving vulnerable individuals throughout Central Alberta. A $1000 hit is a significant expense to us that takes these funds away from our services to clients. Can someone please call me to discuss? My direct line in Edmonton is [protected].

Thank you.

I bought 2 bottles about 2 months back at Shoppers royal oak Calgary location. When I went to use the second bottle the pump did not work . I went to exchange it as it was defective and was advised they could do NOTHING as the product has now been changed to a new line! and it the was more than 1 month old! I had no reason to use it earlier as had purchased 2 to qualify for the optima points . I am totally disgusted with the response as was sold a defective product - did not want a refund - just an exchange for a usable product . I was told they would contact .me but it's been a week and no response . My optimum number is [protected] .
