Warrant Refund
Have the same complant as others. Purchased extended service agreement for
$2, 500.00. Did not use and completed the paperwork in the 30 day required time. Have tried to get this refund since April 2010. I have called sent emails and nothing has happened. They just never respond to any contact from us. How can these people get away with this? I will continue trying to get our money. I anyone has any helpful information please post. Try [protected]@signet-financial.com.

non payment of warranty refund
I followed the refund process exactly. Filed for my warranty refund on time and included all paperwork in November of 2010. The only correspondence I have had from this company is the certified mail reciept of my paperwork. SFG has taken down their website and will not field calls anymore. Not that they ever did a good job of that anyway. I was promised my check over the phone and it has not arrived by the date they told me. I will be filing a complaint with the CA Attorney Generals office. I want whoever is responsible for this crooked operation to spend time in jail, and I will actively persue this goal. I'm eager to see how the dealership (Henry Day Ford) will assist me with getting my refund back. I don't think that they are financially responsible for my warranty, but they should be embarrassed and/or angry about alligning their company with SFG. My email is [protected]@aol.com

auto warranty refund
My story is the same as the others here. I spoke with someone at Signet in February who confirmed we had submitted all the proper documentation and stated my refund of $3, 500 would be issued by the beginning of March. Now it appears the company has closed down. How can we take action against this company? Do we have any recourse?

i dont know where you headr that they closed but i know for a fact that they have not i work selling warantys and i just sold one today through signet todays date is 6/10/2011. I must say im very sory for everyone who has had or is having problems with signet. I it was me i would contact everyone on this board and anyone else i could and hire a laywer you all have a class action lawsuit in your hands so dont let this just go away cause the comapny makes it hard to get any answers. Sue them i know i would! Good luck!
We also filed all the required paperwork. We did speak to people in Nov. 2010, Jan 2011, Mar 2011. The last phone call they stated the check had been cut on Monday and we should receive it by Friday. Friday came and went and now they don't answer the phone. If anyone is going to file a claim against this Fraudulent company I would like to know.
Extended Service Contract
We purchased an Extended Service Warranty on our car and didn't need to use it. We started the process to get this refunded on 8-2-10 and have not received our refund yet. We were told several times that the refund was either in the mail or would be mailed out the first of next week. One time we were told that the group that reviews your claim doesn't meet until around the end of December. You should then receive either a refund or a refusal letter around the middle of January. Of course we didn't receive anything and now our phone calls aren't being answered.

I too have been scammed! What can we do? Where do we go from here, or is it over?

Of course you could always call the president, Gregg Lehman at his home in Winters, CA: [protected]
Complain all you want, but the company is out of business, and the money is all gone.
We bought our warranty from Toyota in Dec 2004 and submitted all the required documents early this January to make sure I'm within the 30 days requirement. Last time I called they told me to follow-up on April, but now they are closed. Any other way to get this company to send us all our refunds? Should I go ahead and submit my complain to the Attorney General of CA?
Out of Business?
Like the MANY other complaints about this fraudulent company, we too have faced complete runaround from this place. But now, there's a new wrinkle to this mess... now when a phone call is made to these people-- not that they ever answer anyway-- the new recording says, "this office is closed until further notice." WTF! Now what?! We're really hoping our car dealership-- who are STILL selling their worthless warranties-- will stand behind their customer.
Has anybody happen to have gotten a hold of anybody at this company in the last week or so (it's the first of April, 2011 today)? I think they've totally screwed us along with many, many other unsuspecting customers.

Non-payment of refun
My husband and I purchased the Extended Warranty through Signet Financial and made sure we followed every requirement to receive our refund. We submitted our refund in November of 2010. They stalled then finally told us we would receive our refund March 25th, 2011. I called several time prior and left messages without call-backs. Finally, on March 23rd I was told the check would be sent as scheduled. It was not. It is now one week later, April 1st, 2011 and now they say their offices are closed until further notice. The internet site is shut down. They scammed us for $2000.00. There must be something done about these people.
I contacted the dealership that sold us the warranty with Signet and they are trying to get ahold of someone and find out what's going on. They are having a meeting this next week. I will be in touch with them on a regular basis until something is done. We also think a class action suit would be a good idea. How do you do something like that?
I just got online this morning to see if the refund form for out policy was available online... everyone is saying they have been scammed and the company is out of business... Ours policy was purchased in Aug of 2008. And is for 84 months... should be sending in stuff for refund in about nine more days. I called the phone number on our policy and got a nice recording that asked if anyone in our home was over 50. I replied yes and was told we qualify for a health monitor... oh JOY! I will be contacting our dealership where we purchased the trailer and the policy to see what they say. YES, if there is a lawsuit you bet we are in! Let us know.
I am having the same problem. I followed everything to the letter. Even sent refund paperwork by certified mail. Was told that we had fulfilled the correct paperwork and a refund would be issued in 90 -120 days and to check back in late April. I want my money back and tried to call today to find that there is no one answering the phone. Is anyone having any luck getting their refund. I have all my paperwork.
Thanks,
Frustrated in Rochester NY
I still have not been able to get in contact with anyone so I will now assume they have scammed me out of my $2000. I believe it is now time we act together, contact as many consumer agencies as possible and think about a class action suit. By the way, it looks like a news channel out of New York did a piece on this scam company in August of 2010. Maybe if we contact that news agency or (any others in our area) it will put more heat on these bums.

Service Contract Refund
We purchased an extended warranty service contract in 2004. If contract was not used within the 5 year period, a refund was promised for the value of the contract. We did not use the service contract. We started the refund process in September, 2010. We have provided all the paper work and jumped through all the hoops and after many promises and delays, the last being we were told our check would be mailed March 4, 2011, we have not received our refund. In our last attempt in getting information re: our refund the employee in refund dept. told us a check was never cut or mailed and she had no idea why. If you call Signet now you get a voicemail saying they are closed.

im was just told that SFG has gone out of business and that we are all ###ed!

Hi, I am in the same situation as you are. I started my refund in September and did EVERYTHING THEY ASKED and sent everything they needed asap to them. They told me I was approved for refund even told me the amount of the check. They kept dragging it out and I kept calling to find out why. Finally I talked to someone and they told me check was mailed out .I still haven't gotten it. Their website is down and now no one will answer the phone.
Their website says they are under construction also... did they go out of business? I will be pissed since my warranty ended in January and I'm still fighting for the refund. If they did indeed go out of business does anyone know of a way we can get the money that is owed?
Car Warranty Refund Yet to be Honored
Like several others on this sight, Signet Financial has not refunded my warranty as agreed. Even though I was told I would be receiving it MONTHS AGO! They put your off, claim the check was lost in the mail, send messages to accounting and never get back to you, etc. From what I gather, I'm not the only person they do this to, and it's probably their way of delaying payment. I have filed a complaint with the BBB, and they ignored that as well. Next is the State of California Department of Insurance. If anyone can tell me what it took to get your refund I am all ears.
Oh no! I did finally get my refund on the 22nd of March. I had to e-mail the President of the company to finally get a response. It was even sent certified mail. Unfortunately I don't know who to contact now if the company has gone out of business. Maybe any other party mentioned on your agreement. Good Luck.
I e-mailed him, and he called me within 30 minutes. Of course, saying that two checks have been sent so he would have to make sure the second had not cleared. What a joke. Same story everyone else gets. He did say the next check would be sent certified. We shall see.
Thanks! I will!
What e-mail address did you use? Do you have anything better than the refund@signetfinancial.com email?
I don't care if times were hard for them or not! If they went bankrupt then obviously they took or spent OUR MONEY and we are all intitled to what we paid! I will do whatever it takes to get my $2, 500 and I hope you will too!
Because they are CA based you need to file complaints with the CA Insurance Commissioner and the CA Attorney General. You can do this online. The CA Secretary of State website show Signet's business still active and represented by James C, Kuppenbender law firm out of Sacramento, CA. We were told that their secondary insurance was Hanover Re and not to expect anything in return.
Of course you could always call the president, Gregg Lehman at his home in Winters, CA: [protected] and see what he has to say about it. Read around the web and you'll see that the last batch of checks he sent out bounced. These guys are smart enough to drain the corporation dry and leave nothing to pick over.
I have no contact with this other than being a victim. I look at it this way: I paid $1560 for a 5 year extended warranty. I got 5 years of extended warranty protection. None of my other insurance policies give me money back if I don't use them.
Did the dealer's promise of a refund cause me to buy something I wouldn't have otherwise? Probably. I'm just as mad at myself as I am at my dealer (out of business) as I am at Signet (out of business). It was an expensive lesson.
I suspect that Signet had a reasonable business plan. They could count on x% of vehicle owners selling before the extended warranty was up. They could count on y% of cars needing service under the warranty. They only had to collect enough from the dealers to cover the small percentage of people who actually file a refund claim, and enough more to make a tidy profit.
Unfortunately, they got bit by the same financial collapse that shook all of the rest of us. People quit buying new cars, and if they did, they didn't buy warranties because all of the consumer advice told them not to. Cars are getting a lot more reliable, and fewer of them needed warranty repairs. People were in a financial bind, and were MORE likely to file a refund claim. At some point, the money to pay for refunds runs out. I'm sure Gregg saw it coming, and sucked the maximum amount out of the corporation while the checks were still good.
A reputable organization would have purchased some type of secondary insurance to cover payments, but Signet did not or could not. This may be what the California AG will use to go after Gregg. In any case, if we get anything, it will be pennies. Maybe a T-shirt or a coupon good for $25 off our next extended warranty.
Bottom line: you paid for extended warranty, you got extended warranty. Gregg isn't losing any sleep. Neither should you.
Tick, I'm not interested in hurting his feelings, but more interested in ruining him and any future scams he's planning in the eyes of his 93 " friends" and friends of friends. How do know about of his finances and there not being any money left ?
The company is out of business, and there is no money left. I'm sure Mr. Gregg was smart enough to hide his personal fortune from any actions against Signet. Rip him a new one on Facebook; I'm sure that will hurt his feelings...
Hi, I am going through this as well. I have sent multiple letters requesting refund and it seems as of April 5, 2011. they have gone under. I am losing $1825 behind this. If anyone has any information or is interested in pursuing this together please contact me at msdiamante11@gmail.com. I am disgusted.
Same story here! Was told check would be mailed about a month ago and nothing. Thanks for posting this losers e-mail and phone number. Called my auto dealership and they have had over 20 calls in just a couple of days about this and have their "legal department" on it. Trying to get Gregg to be my friend on facebook and rip him a new one! He lives in Vacaville, CA I believe.
Same here. I am unable to get a hold of them.

refund
To keep this from being too lenghty, I will just say that we too are now being "stonewalled" by signet financial.
They have indicated that we have qualified for a refund on our Contract Refund Agreement, after literally months of unreturned phone calls and unanswered e-mails, we have been notified that our refund check would be written 1/28/11.
The check has not arrived...and now they (Gregg Lehman nor his employees) will return our phone calls or answer our e-mails.
We have fully satisfied our part of this CONTRACT, and one would think that a company doing business in America (any business) would be required to live up to their responsibilities of a CONTRACT. But...evidently not.
It's sad really...in these very demanding economic times, I know that it is very important to have a job, but how do you suppose Mr. Lehman and his employees explain to their families at night what it is they do for a living?
My advice, if you have not yet done business with signet financial...DON'T!
If a car salesperson tries to sell you a signet extended warranty...
DON'T!
These folks at signet are bad news and if you are working through the maze of obstacles required to get a refund...DON'T EXPECT TO RECEIVE ONE .
The BBB gives them an A+ rating...I give them an F
I do not have a new address for SFG, but you may want to call the Vacaville Chamber of Commerce, the Calif. BBB or the city government (of Vacaville) to see if they (SFG) are still open.
Keep in mind (and I found this out the hard way) just because you send something by registered mail...there is no obligation for the receiving business (in this case SFG) to even pick up that mail.
It arrives in their PO Box...sits there for 10 days...and then is returned to sender, if they decide to not sign for it!
...just another sleasy example of how SFG works.
I urge you to take the time to file your complaint with the BBB.
They, in turn, contact SFG for you and SFG is required to answer their inquiry. After they contact SFG and hear back from them, they will then get back in touch with you. Also, contact your state's AG and insurance fraud division. They were very helpful to us in getting our refund back (finally).
...and good luck... DO NOT LET UP ON THIS CROOKED BUSINESS
UNTIL YOU GET YOUR MONEY BACK
hey concernedguy...you have my sympathy.
SFG stiffed us on our refund money for over four months...but we kept after them on every front we could (BBB...ins. division...e-mails...phone calls...letters...etc.) until finally, with the help of the dealership that sold us the policy, we received the refund. (after it had gotten lost in the mail three times).
If SFG has sent you an e-mail confirmation that you qualified for a refund...then my advice is to stay after 'em!
Do not believe one word they tell you by phone...and, of course, you can expect your check to get lost in the mail too (probably a couple of times).
Does SFG run a scam operation...?
Yes, it is my opinion they do...and I have decided to make their lives as miserable as they made mine while I was trying to get our refund.
Mark my words. Someday SFG is going to stiff sombody who may not be as mild mannered as I am...and that guy is going to drive to Vacaville and go postal on their ###!
...still really upset in Oregon...
because we went thru the very same poor service from SFG, my advice is...just keep after 'em. Our check was lost in the mail numerous times before it finally arrived...and the only reason we finally did receive our refund was because we did file complaints with the BBB of Calif., the Insurance Division in Oregon and with the dealership that sold us the contract.
If you have received notice from SFG that you have qualified for a refund...they owe you that money and if you put enough pressure on them, they eventually will pay...but you must keep the pressure on!
We fully qualified for a refund in Nov. of last year.
The first check was mailed (supposedly) on Jan. 11th of this year.
That check was "lost in the mail"
SFG procedure is then to stop payment on that check...wait 10 days and reissue a new check. That check too was "lost in the mail".
Another stop payment...another 10 day delay, another check reissue.
The third check was supposed to be mailed Feb. 14th.
In the interm, because it does not take 10 days for a letter to travel 300 miles, I contacted the Calif. BBB and filed a complaint. I also contacted the Oregon Ins. Division and filed a complaint with them.
I also contacted the dealership that had sold me the extended warranty and complained to them.
Short story...somewhere along the line, SFG got the message...and we finally received our full refund on Feb. 26.
My advice, if you have met all of the conditions that SFG requires for a refund and they have notified you of that, DON"T GIVE UP!
In fact, apply MORE pressure by contacting the Ca. BBB, your state Ins. Division, the business who sold you the SFG contract and call SFG EVERY day!
Keep very detailed records of all of your contacts with SFG (although you will very seldom actually get to talk with a real person)...but don't make the mistake of ever believing one word that comes out of the refund Dept...and especially from the young lady that heads up that dept.
If you are wondering while I'm still complaining about the service (or lack of) from SFG...I am going to keep after them until someone requires them to return refund checks in a timely manner...and in the same way we are required to get our paperwork to them...REGISTERED MAIL!
I think that might put an end to the "lost in the mail" BS.
Good luck to all of you out there still fighting SFG over your refund.
Just keep in mind, there is light at the end of the tunnel if you keep after them
I had purchased through the car dealership in The Dalles Oregon an extended warrenty for the car I purchased. I payed extra each month for 72 months at the end of which if I had not used the warrenty I would get a full refund. I sent in the paperwork, they sent me paperwork back to fill out. i sent that in and called 1 month later to make sure they received it. They had and told me it all was approved to expect a check in the mail within 90 days. I called them back and there # says closed until further notice. I keep calling and now it just rings and rings. I contact the car dealership I bought it through and they have taken my info and are "looking into it."
I've also been duped by Signet, I tried calling and office is tempary closed, I also sent a certifed letter and the letter was returned today undilvered. If any one out there has a new contact please let me know
Thanks
Oh by the way the dealership was Dan McCormick in Kalkaska, MIchigan, and the sales man was Tony Piazo, who now works at Brown Motors in Petoskey
Ditto, ditto, ditto on everything I have read, now the systems have been shut down phones, computer systems nothing. The only thing I discovered different with my case is at first they said I wasnt in their system, go figure I had all the paper work and they didnt have it, SURE ! And my dealership I bought it from is no longer in business otherwise I WOULD go after them too. I found my salesman and all he said was he is not getting involved and will not help me, SWEET, he talked me into getting it! I hope someone is able to go after these dirt bags and makes them pay.

I qualified for my refund back in August 2010. Still not check. I was told it would be mailed December 10, 2010. They claim the check was lost in the mail. Now they won't return my calls. I filed a complaint with the BBB, but they didn't respond. A second notice has been sent. Now I'm filling out paperwork to file a complaint with the State of California Department of insurance.
We fully qualified for our refund back on september 2010, I was told it would take approx. 5 months to process! I called on March 7, and
to my amazement I was told the check was just mailed out on feb.28, 2011. here we are at march 7, 2011 and no check has arrived.
My call to them now go's to a recording with no return call. After reading some of the other complaints that are posted, I too will be
contacting the California state attorney's office, and file a complaint
against SFG based on breach of contract and fraud. I hope others will follow suit, and maybe we can put SFG out of the extended warranty
bussiness!
2011
My refund check was supposed to have been mailed on January 14th, 2011. It's February 28th and still nothing! I've made several phone calls and have been told that a new check would be sent (that was two weeks ago). -- Fed up with Signet Financial Group
Also trying to get my refund- check was SUPPOSEDLY written on February 4th and mailed out on February 7th- it is now February 19th and on Monday I am filing a Fraud form with the California Insurance Fraud agency-Good Luck
Non refunded Warrenty
I purchased extended warrenty on a 5th wheel trailer. If not used I would be refunded the amount If not used. I did not use the warrenty. I was checking my paper work and found I was over the 30day refund period by 14days. I called Signet Financial and got the run around and was advised to bad I was past the 30days. Signet Financial took my money. STAY AWAY!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Of course you could always call the president, Gregg Lehman at his home in Winters, CA: [protected]
You didn't buy an extended warranty from Signet. You purchased a warranty from some other company. In order to get you to sign, your dealer paid a small amount to Signet for a 'policy on a policy' that would refund the purchase price of the warranty if you didn't use it. You got your extended warranty coverage, but you're not getting the refund. Signet is out of business and the money is gone. You are in the same boat with thousands of other people.
I am currently pursuing my claim for refund from Signet Financial Group. It began on 10 Feb 2010, exactly six years from the time I purchased my extended warranty from Signet. I have complied with all requirments of Signet, sent all letters and documentation via certified mail (return receipt), and continue to wait to hear a peep from them. Today I am sending another certified letter requesting an update as to the holdup on their end. I will continue to fight on but will never again be dumb enough to purchase an extended warranty.
Warranty Refunds
I too am having problems with Signet Financial refunding the unused warranty per the terms of their agreement. They keep asking for more documentation. Each documentation request has a strict 30 day time limit for your reply. If you ever get involved with this company, SEND EVERYTHING VIA CERTIFIED MAIL, and keep records. They will do anything to avoid returning the money even though they are contractually obligated to do so.
I've left Greg a voicemail... Not holding my breath for a return call...
Of course you could always call the president, Gregg Lehman at his home in Winters, CA: [protected]
The company is out of business, and the money is all gone. The last few checks that people received bounced. Chalk it up to experience.
I am in the same situation also . I sent all my paperwork and pictures via overnight mail on Sept.3, 2010. I called and was told everything was approved for my refund and the paperwork was sent to the main office to have a check cut in the amount of $1865 and to call back in a couple weeks. I called a few weeks later and was given a date the check was to be sent out, March 11, 2011. The check NEVER CAME!
I still haven't been able to get in contact with anyone so I will now assume they have scammed me out of my $2000. I believe it is now time we act together, contact as many consumer agencies as possible and think about a class action suit. The company president is Gregg Lehman and his email address is glehman@signet-finanical.com phone number is [protected] ext. 102. Keep calling, sending emails. It took me a almost a year of weekly and almost daily calls and emails to finally get my money. Their business practice is to make you jump through so many hoops that you finally give up and they can keep your money. Use the contact information above and post other contacts if you find them.
Here's another verse to the same old song. I started the refund process in June of 2010. I jumped thru all of Signets hoops in the 30 day window to get my refund. After that I got the same run around, the paperwork was waiting to be approved, then waiting to be processed, then the check was issued and to expect it in 10 business days, then the check must have been lost and they would reissue it. And now phone calls with no return call. They have their script down and there is no deviation from it. I did call the California Attorney General to see if there is any record of any fraud investigations against Signet Financial. The AG sent a letter on my behalf but to date there has been no response from Signet. My next step is the BBB and the DA in Vacaville to see if someone can light a fire under them.
I am in the same boat with them saying the check was in the mail. The end of my 60 days was Dec. 3rd (2010). They said the check was mailed on Jan. 3rd (wait, isn't that AFTER my 60 days?). I never got the check. On the 17th of January, a Carrie (from refund dept.) put a message into accounting to reissue it. Over a week later, I call back. Carrie said, the order is still in and they will call me when they send it. I calmly explain how things seem fishy. She immediately gives me Gregg L's phone number. He happens to be on vacation for a week! I hear nothing. I leave multiple messages for Greg, knowing he is back from vacation by now. I call Carrie again inquiring as to my status because I haven't heard anything. She knew me by name and just says, "Look. You went as high as you can go with your claim. He will take care of it when he gets a chance." She wouldn't talk to me anymore, and I have never spoken to Greg (he won't call me back). I finally file a report with BBB. It is only there that they responded to my complaint. They said they mailed me another check on Feb. 4th. I asked for overnight mail on BBB. I don't think I got it. We'll see if the check comes this time.
I really feel like they "punished" me for calling repeatedly and going to BBB. Why else would it take a month to reissue a "lost" check and they won't speak to me on the phone? I promise - I am a kind and not rude person.
Ed !@# - I'm curious to find out whether you ever received your refund check. I was told my check was mailed on 12/3/10. When it didn't arrive last week, I called this morning and got the exact same answer you did. I'm not sure what to do if it doesn't arrive this Friday, 12/17/10.
I was told my refund went out 11-12-10 from Vacaville, Ca to Susanville, Ca. It is now 11-19-10 and unless the pony express is still delivering mail someone there is a whole lot less than honest. I called yesterday and was told the accounting department will not do anything until 10 days have past and to call back after Thanksgiving. This company seems to work like the IRS
Auto Warranty
I purchased a 72 month extended car warranty from Signet Financial Group on 11/26/04. The warranty was refundable if there were no claims on the warranty. There were no claims so in July of 2009 I requested a warranty refund in writing via regular mail. I did not recieve any information, so in September of 2009 I sumbitted another request and sent via...
