I live in a building, actually there are three buildings here. I don't know about the others but my building has had cockroaches and bedbugs, they think we don't know but we do. It would be nice to tell everyone so we can keep an eye out. The shovelling here has been horrible since they fired our superintendants. The walkway to the parking lot has not been cleared properly, I almost fall every time I walk on it. The building has not been kept clean and it stinks. The building manager doesn't have the time of day for you unless you are white. The last three times I walked out the front door i walked into people smoking drugs. Not a good experience, I'm moving
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
You should do a little research on the landlord tenant laws. Take pictures and maybe even get a few letters stating the conditions of the building from a couple other tenants. I would recommend in taking action after you move out just for less problems/drama. If you choose to take them to court you may not have to pay anything, the court costs/fees can be added to the amount you are suing them for. Good Luck.
I lived there as well and dealt with all the same issues as you...its a disgusting place to live!
I found that nothing ever got fixed and the hallways smelled of wet dog all the time...the carpets in the hallways are Nasty!
The elevators were broken more then they actually worked...sucks when you live on the 8th floor!
The hot water issues were appauling...almost every second day the hot water was nil...they include hydro but you dont get hot water half the week!
The building manager has some serious issues! whenever you try to address an issue her reponse is "if you don't like it move!" Thanks for the great advice Lorrie!

This used to be a great place to live until the previous landlords were let go. They were friendly, clean and polite. This building (100) is clean(ish) but definetly not sanitary. The floors are not mopped regularly and are often sticky. One MAJOR complaint I have is that the rear entrance/exit to the building is not fixed and does not lock at times and at other times does not close all the way. Not very safe for some of the seniors and people who live alone. Aside from all this, there are amazing people that live here, just need better, attentive super's!
The supers at 100 Silvercreek pkwy north in guelph are very rude to the tenants! They have no respect for anybody and are very dirty...thier building and themselves!
they hate pets and their owners!

I don't know what everyone is talking about- they must have been the dealers and trouble makers who have been kicked out! I have lived in the 100 building for over 10 years, the best thing the Manager did, ( very professional and has alot of jealous people I guess?) but they fired the last couple who were lazy. We never saw her in work clothes because she never worked! Their kids are the ones who caused all of the problems, and maybe it is the same because they still live there! This is the only thing I think Lorrie, the manager made a mistake about! Why fire and let them stay! I bet they are responsible for the postings because they have nothing better to do! Wish they would parent their kids:(

I have been looking for a place to rent for my mothers retirement in guelph since that is where she was born, that is where she wants to enjoy the last years of her life. While searching for places to live I came across this. Thank God for complaints board. It seems that the management is inept in hiring qualified superintendants judging by the opinions towards the last two sets. The management needs to re-evaluate their HR department and find someone else more qualified to weed out poor employees. Thanks but no thanks i will look elsewhere for my Mother
Good and bad! Floors vacuumed very seldom! Garbage chute stinks all the time [summer especially], even in winter. Garbage chute never ever flushed from top to botton as the original owner's maintenance folks would do in the summer each and every time the garbage bins were emptied. Most dogs are cleaner than some of the tenants! Cameras show only half of each floor. Elevators, hot water problems are constant problems. Tenants move in and out more often than clients in bordelos! Hallways are seldom purged of foul food odors by the ventilation fans. Fans should be kept running most of the time on slow speed to prevent foul odors from filling the hallways!...Mel and Bessy
I was online looking for an email address for internet or property manager or someone that i can email about lastnights events at my building when i came across this..i recently moved into 90 silvercreek parkway n and already im dissappointed!
Lastnight after midnight my building was lined off with cop cars due to a huge fight that consisted of baseball bats and knives at THE SUPERINTENDENTS UNIT! i mean wtf?
The parents were not at home im guessing as all i saw when speaking to the police were kids that i would describe as gang like.
After an hour of the police being there with no resolution (as these kids will not tell on each other for fear of retaliation ) i spent the next few hours in bed horrified listening to beer bottles hitting balconies! I agree with the Thanks but no thanks comment...what kind of supers do you have running this place?
Not to mention the super from next store who cant speak english and was going totally nuts...didnt help the situation at all as most of us couldnt speak to the police because she would not shut up!
Not sure if this is a regular occurence here but im very upset today...i mean if the superintendent cant control her kids as Brenda said then i agree they shouldnt be the super.

If you are all so unhappy why don't you just move..i mean how could you not have known this moving into the Silvercreek / Willow area?
I mean seriously it is the worst area of Guelph, it is known for drugs..if not for that area the Guelph police would be unemployed !
The buildings are old and known for cockroaches, mould, drugs and rats... unless you are not from Guelph i dont get how you wouldnt have known this?
I dont know much about the supers and management but it sounds like they have some real issues. When these companies purchase buildings sometimes they don't know what they are getting into, this is probably the case here, it seems as if you are just an income source and of no importance to them.
My suggestions would be to get together and launch legal action against them for the living conditions or simply move out, preferably the latter of the two.

just wanted to address Brenda's comment what does being white have to do with anything, i have seen no previous comments about racial issues here! Makes you think someone has something to hide, maybe management who doesent like minorities?

My comment is for Brenda a.k.a building manager first of all the dealers and trouble makers continue to move in month after month...so i don't know what you are talking about!You are far from professional as you choose who you are nice to based on how much you can get in return.So no honey, no one is jealous of you!
So the last couple were fired? Thats weird considering you put a note in all of our doors saying that they decided to move on, thanks for finally clearing that up.Omg i will not even get into work clothes here...the last supers were very nice people who seemed to work very hard regardless of what they were wearin(?) that makes no sense to me, , you need to take a looooong look in the mirror and reconsider dresscode, hip length skirts may not be appropiate when you are the first impression of this place, i take that back it is a wonderful first impression! It says so much about the place.Their kids seem to be no worse than any other kids that live here...they are kids get over it, my god.You are not white eh? you learn something new everyday.oh btw if this is your idea of clean you prob should of kept the last supers, this is so not clean! Hi, this is Brenda and I have been promoted to BM! LOL! Why would you think this? I know that what we give out we get back- no matter what and we have no control over others. I am very religious and for these people with bad experiences, some are by chance and some bring it upon themselves. Unfortunately negativity is in all forms and the weak thrive on it. I hope these who say they leave will, because my guess they are causing the chaos in the first place. I have seen many come and go in my 10 years here and maybe my faith as kept me safe. I have never encountered cockroaches or other pests. I have had children stick up fingers at me for diciplining them thinking they are all that because their parents use to be supers and have relatives who are. I have had my son bullied because of his weight because of these childres:) and It must have been scary with cops here on Friday, I heard nothing.
Judge for yourself what you want. Don't feed of off other bad experiences - there are always 2 sides to every story. People will trive on the bad though- that's life. Ever watch the evening news with all good stories- no!

You know everyone is right, if your [censored] supers spent as much time in the building cleaning as they do outside at the pool and tennis court we wouldnt need a complaint board for this place.

oh my...don't even get me started about this place ..or the manager! I could write a book on this place let me tell ya.
My biggest complaint right now is just how dirty our building has become and Lorrie seems to walk around here totally oblivious to it, i mean why fire one set of supers that get along with everyone for a set that do nothing except make rules and post them all over the building as if we are idiots!
Or maybe its just because there are so many these days you need to post them a million times so that you can keep track yourself. OMG what is with the ugly plants in the lobby its like a jungle!
I just gotta say i hope that this building manager is not L.S talking about how someone parents their kids...if so honey you need to take a long look at yourself before you judge anyones parenting skills, you spent all your time partying and screwing around when your kids were young in fact one couldve said the same to you!

I didnt want to stoop to this level and respond to this but i can no longer hold my toungue :P
I was the superintendent at Silvercreek estates for over a year and i can dispute all of the claims made on here, first of all we have people from many different backgrounds and we always treated them with as much respect as anyone else, some still being good friends of mine to this day.
After leaving the job i chose to remain here because it is such a nice place, friendly tenants, professional management, beautiful setting! Many amenities that other buildings do not have.
The fact that i still live here says it all!
As for bugs...find me a building that doesent have bugs...sorry people we have to share the world with bugs! But they do have regular pest control visits to keep pests under control, other than an occasional earwig or ant (i am on ground floor) I have no complaints lol
And yes we do have rules here, i wouldnt want to live in a place that doesent..could you imagine the chaos?
One other thing yes we do have cops here ...when you have 300 families living in one area there are bound to be some incidents nothing like listed on here though.
I like silvercreek estates, the apartments are spacious, clean (newly renovated) and i think we have alot of nice people living here. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice place
to live in Guelph! =)

I must start off by apologizing to you publicly because i have been going around accusing you guys of posting all these messages, now it leaves me wondering who has done this?
Truthfully the buildings aren't that bad, don't let the fact that i moved out influence anyone.
Mind you there are days that i look around and wish that you guys still worked here. So much time is wasted on negative things such as postings on here, whoever has been writing thi swill get theirs..what comes around goes around.
I have never had anything against you and Larry people are just jealous!

Same old, same old nonsense every day. The moving truck drivers all drive to these building with their eyes close - they have moved so many former and new tenants.
Rent discounts will be soon paid for all the time that the elevators have been on "service", and additional cheques will be available soon too for the times when the water is off!
Lorrie must have given some of her slut clothes to Jana! Thats too funny ..her biggest complaint with Dee was the way she dressed, goes to show when you have a pretty face and your hot you dont have to dress like a hoe to get attention from both guys and girls...jealousy! gotta love it

HE NEVER SAYS ANYTHING TO MEN! OR THE MEN THAT SWIM IN THE POOL WITH THEIR CLOTHES ON.OR THE ONE'S THAT TAKE THEIR DOGS INTO THE POOL TO USE IT FOR A BATHROOM. I HEARD THAT ANDY CHASED A WOMEN DOWN JUST FOR TELLING HIM THAT SOMEONE GOT SICK IN THEIR HALLWAY.CHECK IT OUT SHE TOOK THEM TO COURT FOR HARRASMENT AND WON! I have been talking to alot of tenants who have put their notice in...i wouldnt be surprised if this building is half empty this winter...goes to show how the buildings are being run...they r being run right into the ground!
My advice to InterRent would be to can these supers and you may want to re evaluate Lorrie's performance as well : 0
Tenants are leaving like crazy ... I have never heard of such a turnover coming into the fall...but here you have it!
Maybe now Interrent will open there eyes and try to see whats happening here...or maybe Lorrie will just fill these unit up with the typical "Fillers"...after all its Quantity here not Quality anymore..lets just keep the units filled, doesent matter that they will all be evicted come spring for Nonpayment of rent because they were not checked properly...Great Job Lorrie :)
I just have to say that I can't believe what these people are writing. I know for a fact that Larry Halbert and Denise Bolt (former supers and now vindictive tenants) are either writing these complaints and/or having friends write them because they are petty people. They are very disruptive and their child, Kristen, is rude and ill-mannered. She comes by it naturally. She is just like her mother, Denise Bolt. Denise does nothing all day except sit by the pool and bad-mouth the landlords and supers.
These people should be evicted for harassing others. The atmosphere around here is terrible and many other residents are disgusted by this family and wish they would just leave. You will notice that many of the negative comments make reference to how great the former supers were and how awful the new ones are. This is because Bolt and Halbert ARE the former supers. It is so transparent. It is like a soap opera around here.
Silvercreek used to be a nice place to live and will be again once Bolt and Halbert leave.
This is BOLT! lol all I have to say is if you knew how to READ you would see that I only wrote nice things about the building...but things are certainly changing around here as i have to move due to major harassment from the building manager SMITH.
I don’t need my friends to write things... people are quite capable of forming their own opinions on this place, my friends are more intelligent than that.
Sorry that I used to sit by the pool and supervise my daughters swimming and here I thought I was doing the right thing…well then...but that has also stopped as we got harassed there as well!
It seems we cant do much around here, which is why I have been forced to file a harassment suit with the landlord and tenant board.
It seems to be that there is only minor comments left in reference to how we were as supers...more of them seem to be about how the buildings are being run, or lack thereof, if you are offended its not my fault...it is what it is!
We made a lot of friends while working here and the fact is that is the problem!
Whether I am here or not people will see you for what you are, they certainly do not need me to tell them.
This is just another personal attack because Smith thinks that we are posting this stuff, I could care less how the building is run …we don’t even use the exit, we enter and exit the bldg through our balcony. We avoid Smith at all cost!

You should really put all your energy into your own life and try to stay out of mine. You are clearly OBSSESSED with me, trying to kick me out with fabricated complaints, picking on my children, my dog, my parenting, trying to evict me at every opportunity, emailing tenants looking for complaints (which is illegal) even going as far as interfering with my JOB...you seriously need some help. I pray that when me and Halbert leave things do get better they certainly can’t get much worse.
I know that they will be better for us!
By the way thanks for sending your lawyer today to have us sign papers to end the hearing, I understand how hard it would be for you with such lack of evidence I mean when you are the one doing all the harassing you must have been getting nervous with the hearing date get near.

In my opinion you abviously have too much time on your hands. This is suppose to be for legitimate complaints and not your own personal vendetta to take out on management. I have live here for over a year. Since then two family members and a friend has moved into these buildings and Lorri Smith and the superintendents have been nothing other than kind and courtious. It's a good thing that Lorri doesn't let people like you bother her because she's a strong person and can just laugh at your pettiness. I, on the other hand, am sickened by the immaturity and lie filled comments that you are accusing her off. Anyways, as far as the turn over here, it's called RECESSION! But obviously the comments that you write, I wouldn't expect anything less coming from such a cold, mean and immature person. I just pray for you that someday your heart will be softened and you will realize how empty you really are by filling your life full of hatred. Thanks to all who are following your path because it certainly will make Lorri's job easier, getting rid of the trouble makers, and it will certainly improve the atmosphere around here! I am a tenant at 100 Silvercreek occasionally i check out the comments on here, personally i havent had alot of problems, I come and go daily, usually without incident...I try not to sweat the small stuff, i understand that there are alot of vacant units right now and the supers can only be stretched so far, so if the building is not up to par for a few days i guess i personally can deal.
But what i find extremely disturbing is the fact that someone has actually written a childs name on here! I mean come on how stupid is that!?

If this were my child i would be contacting police...btw Denise if you want information on how to get the persons IP address message me on here and ill let you know, i can already tell you that as far as i can see 3 of the comments have the same IP..the police can trace that right to the computer for you...I'm not sure what kind of a parent you are but i would suggest taking action on this or message the person to remove that comment! We need to protect our children! What kind of a ###ing place are you running here? Shame on you Lorrie!
