I contacted beagle rescue in Tampa end of July 2022 & was referred to South florida beagle rescue in Miami. I got a call from Karla [protected] @ the rescue. I explained that I had adopted a beagle pup that I'd like to have adopted by a family with a yard & another pup. I was asked to sign surrender papers without electronic approval, no explanation was provided on the process for adoption. I was told the foster home had a yard & a beagle. My pup was neutered, vaccinated, chipped & had a surgical procedure I paid for. The foster picked up my pup, I provided his frontline, interceptor, bed, food & made $100 donation. The foster said she would consider adopting him. The next morning South Florida beagle rescue had an instagram post "Mr. BB will be available in a few days but we have a couple of applications we well give priority to before
any new applicants". I questioned them they sent an email stating: "Mr. BB is in a great foster home and will remain in this home for some time during what we call his"decompression"time. I asked the pup be returned because of the conflicting information they provided. I NO longer trust them. They will not return the pup because of the surrender contract. I can provide documentation of the information stated in this complaint. As per co founder of South Florida beagle rescue Yessenia"While in foster care, we can provide updates on Mr. BB". Any information has NOT been forthcoming, I've had to request it & now I get none.
This has been a painful disagreeable experience.
Word to the wise: don't sign surrender papers that don't give you a 24-48 hour grace period to change your mind, vet the rescue, find out the details of the foster/adoption process.
