I booked Southern Sun The Cullinan om Booking.com for Dec 2023 , nothing was indicated that i must pay immediately the website indicate that i need not to pay anything until 15 Dec 2023 . Now the hotel want to get payment from my bank account and when i ask why they say i must pay now , but the website did not say i must pay now . This is unfair and i think they are racist trying to open up rooms for foreigners and think that they must remove black family from their hotel . I hope this message finds you well.
I am writing to inform you about an unfortunate incident that occurred on the evening of 20th July 2023. Around 19:30, while my colleagues and I were enjoying dinner and spending time at the smoking area in front of the hotel, my cell phone was stolen. It all happened so quickly, and despite my colleague (Peter James Groenewald) efforts to prevent it on his side and my side, the thieves managed to take my phone.
I must admit that the experience has left me quite shaken. I no longer feel safe at the hotel and have been unable to sleep since the incident, as it is now 01:21 on 21st July 2023. I am eagerly looking forward to leaving this place and returning home. My flight back to OR Tambo is scheduled for 11:15.
Although Hotel Employee's have expressed their apologies and assisted me in reporting the incident to the police, I can't help but feel uncomfortable about the situation. It seems they might not fully understand the emotional impact this has had on me. While they mean well with their apologies, handling such a scenario goes beyond mere words.
I have been informed that similar cases have occurred at this hotel, as others I spoke to shared their experiences. It might be worth considering measures to enhance security, such as relocating the smoking area to the swimming pool area, as was done in some other cases.
If there are any additional steps that can be taken to address this matter or support me during this time, I would be grateful.

Greetings to you, trust you are doing well, At the very last moment on Saturday I decided to book at your hotel and once again it was a unpleasant experience.
During breakfast, I requested non-ice cold water and was given a bottle of Valpre Sparkling of which my wife used it with about 40 % left. As I walked out a young waiter by the name of " Damu came to use saying we are not allowed to take the bottle out of the breakfast area I asked why she referred us to the front entry desk of your breakfast area and the lady explained and helped by a male who to me was a waiter explaining the same thing and I asked... tell me can you perhaps charge the bottle to my room a first she said no later she said yes but you can't take that bottle we will issue you a full bottle, I asked what is going to happen to this bottle or water we used she said the breakfast department will offer it to other guest I said due to hygienic reasons that cant happen... anyway she refuse us to take the bottle that was initially used by us. Guest seated near and around her desk watched her and the guy who was a waiter explaining to us the same thing over and over.

Breakfast pack
On Friday 02 June 2023 I checked in at Bloemfontein Southern sun hotel. I requested a breakfast pack. In the morning when I received the breakfast pack it was for one person instead of 4 as per room booked. The receptionist realised that and took the breakfast pack to the kitchen in order the problem to be resolved I waited for an hour without getting anything and decided to leave as I was running late.
No one took initiative to call and apologized. I filed a complaint on the 09 June 2023 via their Reservation and Thabo whom I emailed said he referred the matter to the relevant d8rectorate. Until today no one cares.
This is a very disgusting service for a 4 star hotel. I will never booked into that hotel again. I would rather go to a guest house
Ticket refund declined - theme park ticket #6829908
I bought Tickets online for the 25th March 2023 for a birthday celebration which we were supposed to get a free birthday entrance ticket and we forfeited it cause when we got to Gold Reef City on the March 2023 it was raining and only 1 ride was working and it is not our fault that the rides was not working and we spend time and petrol to drive there so we were told to re-schedule of which we did re-schedule to 29 april 2023 and on that day out of 7 people that were coming with me 1 fell sick which is something I had no control off it unforeseen circumstance hence all the companies have exceptions for such matters and now the company does not want to refund me due to policy of 24/hrs. Cancellation? How can I cancel a ticket 24hrs before as if I knew that the person will get sick in advance?
I need my refund because this was caused by the Theme Park initially on the 25 March 2023. I forfeited the free birthday ticket and now the company wants to rip me off the R250

On the 10th January 2023 Took a break away from home at the Riverside Southern Sun hotel On the 11th January 2023 It’s 14.50pm and my room is not cleaned and the hotel is basically empty! I don’t understand what was the delay?
It’s hot and we’d like to relax in our room and it’s not cleaned! Seriously?
On the 26th December 2022 My daughter left her purse in the room at the Waterfront Southern Sun after cleaning the room there was a R200 missing I did report it to the desk downstairs to date heard nothing! Unprofessional!
I know leaving personal belongings in the room is risky but surely we would like to believe the hotel is safe !

General service and non functional hospitality service
I checked in Southern Sun Port Elizabeth. Reception was terrible. I booked originally for 2 days and changed my corporate booking in advance for 3 days. Reception couldn’t deal, so I have to check in again tomorrow. Ordered a bottle of wine from your wine menu. Not in stock. Order another, only yo be told, not in stock.
Then ordered a meal, the meal arrived different to your very limited menu. I called and complained. Get excuses and I said don’t bother. Then my room aircon is not working
Desired outcome: I don’t know what to say other than that I am hesitant as a corporate traveler to stay in another Southern Sun Hotel. My wife is like high rated trip advisor contributor. Asking her to add this to every international traveler site.
Poor service & deadly electricals
So I've visited the Riverside Sun in the Vaal, Vanderbijlpark less than 2 months ago. I've been out the country since and never got a chance to inform Southern Sun about this stay.
I've made a booking for my wife & I as well as took another family room for a mate of mine his wife and 3 kids ages 5, 10 and 14.
Firstly I requested Halaal (Koshia) food at the hotel and was denied this so I instead asked that I bring in my own meat etc and I'll braai on the premises. This was allowed 2 nights before emy arrival when I made the booking.
I got to the hotel for my arrival. There was no porter to assist with luggage. I then joined a queue to check in that leterally went to the hotel entrance door from the counter. There was only 1 lady at the counter who was slow as hell.
The managers of the hotel and other staff members kept walking in and out the office that's just behind the front desk. Nobody came to assist her even though there was a queue waiting to check-in.
I checked in after 45min standing in the queue. That afternoon from around 4pm there seemed to be an issue with electricity in both the rooms that I booked.
We called for maintenance to come up and they did and did the issue was resolved.
The power then tripped both these rooms yet again. The maintenance came up, opened up an electrical board on the side of the bed just behind the telephones and the worst thing happened.
We didn't realise that someone would leave an electrical board opened when there's little kids in the room or the next room.
My mate was lucky enough when he walked into his room from mine as they're were interleaving to find his 5yr old almost at the opened electrical board.
I have videos pertaining to this incident and requested the manager of the hotel to cancel my booking and get me a refund. Nothing happened and no alternative accommodation could be found for me and my family.
Desired outcome: I expect a full refund or a complimentary stay please.
Noise complaint. Not ready room. No room light during loadshedding.
I booked a room at The Ridge Southern Sun in Witbank for our first anniversary on 01 October 2022.
I asked via emails if we may book in a little sooner. I asked for 13:00. The response was that it would be no problem. When we arrived at 13:10 our room was not ready and had to wait until 13:45 to have access to our room.
Later the afternoon around 16:00 we wanted to go relax next to the pool.
Unfortunately the entrance to The Ridge is right next to the pool.
Youngsters make groups in front of the entrance. And they make alot of noise. Actually so much that me and my husband had to speak loudly to each other in order to hear what the other was saying.
This noise went on till after 20:00. Can't the security just asked them to go sit somewhere else if they are not visiting the Hotel.
At 19:00 we had loadshedding. Total darkness in the rooms. No little lights.
Cant you put little chargeable lights in the room just so that we dont have to use our phones flash to move around.
It would really be a better experience if there wasn't so much noise. Couples leaning against the hotel pillars at the entrance making out and shouting is not what I expected.
Desired outcome: Please address the problems. I would really appreciate a response and actually see that the problem was solved. Even though I would like a redund. It would not be fair as I did make use of the premises for the evening.
State of Hotel Rooms
Last weekend my husband and I booked into the Caledon Hotel and Spa. Upon checking into our room we were utterly disgusted at the state of the room.
From broken door handles, poor maintenance and poor cleanliness, the room at R1896 was, not only, a rip off but an absolute disgrace. The pictures will be self explanatory. Not to mention the disgusting trolley that was outside our room for the entire weekend.

Hotel service
I booked into Tsogo Sun South Beach Durban and stayed overnight the 23rd July. Room and housekeeping pathetic. Tv didnt have skgnal quite a while, remote for tv batteries flat, no glasses or cups in room and hairdrier not working. Coffee and milk and sugar ordered had to be demanded3 times before coming after 2 hours. Bad service and management that spoiled my families weekend away.

I checked in at stay easy Pretoria on 12th July until 16th July 2022. On the 14th at around 19h30 I was calling telephonically telling me that I must come dish out food she want to close. I asked what time is dinner closing she said to 8,I told her I'm still busy and that I've selp at stay easy several times I've never heard of such nonsense. She continued saying she dish for me nd leave it there coz she want to clean the kitchen.
This is total unprofessional and I doubt if I will ever visit this hotel again and also doubt if I will recommend others.

I've checked into stay easy in cape town, the tsogo sun by my company for a work trip, the service I received was horrific.
I had no hot water since I checked in, spoke to various managers who never arrived to assist, ended up having cold showers and getting sick afterwards due to the cold. The staff aren't helpful at all, they just look at you and say there's nothing they can do... Was advised that I would receive a breakfast pack as I'm leaving early for my flight, was told that there's nothing left in the kitchen and they can't do anything about it... The issue was reported out of extreme concern as I needed to leave however the manager made me wait as he was taking a smoke break.
So disgusted with the service I received from a tsogo sun hotel, couldn't even give me a cup of coffee at 4am.

My room not that clean. Mirrors dusty and toothpaste slits in the bathroom. Dinning hall ladies not friend and they are irritable. Food of today right now it's terrible dessert cake is falling like an old cake. Chef is so not friendly I ask for sauce and he becomes irritable. Tables are being cleaned after sometimes. I had to sit on 6 seater cause all other tables were dirty

Good Morning we booked at southern sun maputo from the 27th April-1st May 2022. We traveled from SA.
We traveled as a family and booked 2 rooms -312 & 314.
This was the worse stay ever, the noise levels from adjacent rooms until 2am every morning, this was also reported to reception and the manager, security was sent up... but thats about it there was no change.
My kids got no sleep and was restless the entire trip.
Secondly the rooms were really dirty and was not cleaned properly, Really upsetting to travel all the way and have a pathetic stay.
We reported this to the manager and were not even asked to change rooms.

I am complaining about your airport transfers
I am booked at the Sandton Sun for three nights starting today. When I made my booking I requested for airport transfers of which I got an email confirming my pick up at the airport when I land. This morning I land at the airport and there is no airport transfers. I have phoned the hotel twice to ask what is going on and they keep telling me the driver is here. I have also asked them call me and he hasn’t called all pitched up. I have phoned the concierge desk three times. This is really not the service I expected. I have meetings at your hotel and now I will be late because of a pick up that didn’t arrive on time and is also unapologetic about it. When I book at the DaVinci I get far much better service than this. Did I mention that I got the email confirming only after I phoned asking why I haven’t received any confirmation for my transfer. I am very disappointed. I haven’t even arrived at the hotel to enjoy my stay and already the service is so poor.
