Rick johnston sold me a English bulldog puppy that was SUPPOSED to be a show quality English bulldog puppy for $6,150.He gave me a story that he had a puppy that he was holding for a guy that was going to give to his son to start showing, but that when it was time to get the puppy the guy was going thru a divorce and couldn't take him. And he told me he would put me in front of his so called waiting list and sale me the puppy. He told me he was show quality and that I needed to show him so I could make him more valuable for stud service. I told rick that I was looking for a show quality bulldog to start showing and also be able to use him eventually as my stud for my breeding program. Rick guaranteed me he was all of this. When he shipped me the puppy he was almost 4 months old and weighed a mere 10.5lbs. I questioned rick about his quality and size and he assured me he was show quality and give him time he would grow. After this I was realizing rick johnston is a fraud and I started contacting breeders who show English bulldogs and I sent them pictures of him and they all stated he was far from show quality. They stated he was way too small and show standard calls for a bulldog to be at least 50 lbs. and by the size of this guy he will be lucky to reach 40lbs. full grown. Also within 1 week of getting him he developed cherry eye in one eye which rick did reimburse me for the cost of the surgery. As for showing him i have been told the cherry eye automatically disqualifies him due to the fact that the dog is not allowed any alterations and the cherry eye surgery is an alteration of the eye. Besides this he has tulip ears a small and not standard shaped head. He is clearly not show quality and to top this off when he shipped the puppy to us he told us we would have his papers in 30 days. When the 30 days were up we called him and asked him again and he stated he had not drawn them yet and it would be another 30 days. Well the 30 days is up again so i e mailed him asking him for them and he stated to me that he was moving facilities and that when he built his new facilities he would draw for them. When I questioned him on this and asked how hard is it to draw the papers and asked how much longer I had to wait he wrote me back saying he is tired of my belly aching and I would get the papers when I get them. I have every right to be questioning this fraud who ripped me off $6,000 and hasn't even gave me the papers on the puppy which is now 6 months old. So basically I paid $6,000 for a non show quality bulldog with no papers. I asked this scam artist for either a partial or full refund and he told me its not going to happen. Everyone thinking about buying a bulldog from this fraud should STAY AWAY! AND RUN FROM HIM. There's more cases even worse than mine. I have filed a formal complaint about this fraud to the Arizona attorney generals office and hopefully this scam artist will be put out of business.

SouthWest and his spinoff Generic Breeder, California Coast Bulldogs has a pic at the top of their page of five pups on the Beach. The pups in the pics ARE NOT SW or CCB puppies, they are MINE! For someone that preaches American bred Bulldogs are crap why do they use Buldog puppies pics from American Breeders?
SW bashes the AKC Bulldog Standard yet uses its Illustrated pics on his site? If their generic bulldog is so damn good why not use their own pics on their websites?

Matt or Rick

I dont think so rick, or matt because I believe this is either you matt or your fraud dad. You are the ones making the fake people because every fake here to claim they have a dog from you has yet to produce any proof of healthy bulldogs with papers. HMMM now thats a little funny take the time to defend the frauds but not take the time to show actual proof. I guess im all these other people here calling out the fraud rick. I have my proof, i have my contract, my vet bills, my pictures to show his so called A+ quality and oh I dont have no papers because THAT FRAUD NEVER GAVE THEM TO ME! What business do you have here? Your matt or rick trying to do damage control because the word is getting out and getting out fast. AND IM NOT THE LIAR RICK JOHNSTON IS THE LIAR AND THE FRAUD AND A FAKE AND A JOKE IN THE BULLDOG WORLD! And I dont know who nancy is but apparently she got robbed by that fraud rick just like otilia did oh what I guess im otilia also and I guess im brady. Oh i guess im shelly also claiming that those are my pics rick and his gbba stole to advertise with. I mean what a joke and if thats not proof his gbba is a joke after all that he talks about american breeders and their line breed dogs he has to go out and advertise these same line breed bulldogs so people will buy his dogs. Look here that FRAUD RICK IS GETTING EXPOSED DAY BY DAY AND MORE AND MORE PEOPLES STORIES ARE COMING OUT. ITS SUCH A GREAT THING THAT WHEN SOMEONE TYPES IN SOUTHWEST BULLDOGS UP COMES THE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE FRAUD TO WARN INNOCENT PEOPLE OF THIS SCAMMER!

FACTS ABOUT THE FRAUD RICK JOHNSTON:

Never has shown a champion dog
Never produced a champion dog
Bought fred(limited edition)from another breeder
Sells unhealthy dogs
Sells dogs with no registration papers
Does almost everything he warns people on his site about when ripping off people
Has not been breeding for 20 years as he claims
Is a complete joke in the bulldog world!

What's wrong with American Breeders? That is way to funny.

He (rick ) ans his GBBA all live in America don't they? They breed don't they?

So I guess he just grouped him self in with that whole BS story he runs on people lol

SW, GBBA and Members of GBBA are glorified puppymillers looking for BIG BUCKS from buyers who believe the BS and slander posted on their sites about American Breeders. Every affiliate of SW and GBBA has the same wording on all their websites and are CONTROLLED by Rick and the free bulldogs to celebrities is nothing more than an advertising hype to build his reputation (all companies do it or doesn't anybody pay attention to commercials with celebrities, see a celebrity using and selling the product, you run to buy it because if they have one, it must be okay). Believe what you will, but anyone charging $5000 and over for puppies and/or adult do - better be selling you a puppy and/or adult dog that will beat every bulldog in the AKC show rings, and produce a slew of champion get. You better be getting a complete puppy and/or dog care kit with all the supplies you'd need for that dog for that price. You should also be getting a written guarantee, money back if what he sells you does not pan out to be what HE PROMISED it would be.

As for genetics -- he better be producing bulldogs whose life spans surpass those being produced by knowledgeable breeders, and they better live to over 15 years of age or longer and have absolutely no health problems. He best have the documentation to prove it too. Also, IS HE A GENETICIST because I always thought you needed a degree to make that proclamation. Well does he have one?

His site states in big bold letters "Breeders of Champions" to make this statement one would have to picture those champions for all to see (or produced written proof of same), I see none on his site or those of his affiliate members of the GBBA. None of the bulldogs pictured on any of those sites have their pedigrees posted and quite a few have small heads and fly away ears. Also if the BCA and AKC illustrated standards are so bad, then why is he using them, if he's the genetics expert as he claims to be, shouldn't he have illustrations drawn up of his genetically engineered bulldogs? Come on - if someone states this crap wouldn't you want to see their degree of expertise and training, where's the picture of his degrees? Rick is not who he makes himself out to be, a puppymiller is a puppymiller and its a business no matter how fancy the wording is or the so called facts HE states are and in great length (he provides nothing written, no scientific evidence from scientists or well known experts, no pedigrees, NOTHING). EXACTLY what Rick has established for himself and his followers, is a profitable business and many are buying his sales pitches and BS he feeds to them - he's the cult leader of puppymillers. Everything is written to convince people he's the man to see to get a PERFECT bulldog. First off, there is NO PERFECT BULLDOG, never will be, however, there are bulldogs who are very close. Anybody pitching they have the perfect bulldog to you is full of it.

Using photographs that are copyrighted is a crime - there are COPYRIGHT LAWS which makes him using a photograph taken by a professional photographer NOT employed by him to take the picture for HIS PERSONAL USE illegal. He is using it for the purposes of selling HIS puppies by advertising pups that were NOT produced by him as his pups from his breeding program is ILLEGAL, ITS FALSE ADVERTISING AND AN ACT OF FRAUD. It doesn't take much to right click on a photo and copy it if its posted by the owner of the photograph on a discussion forum which is where I'm sure he got it or an affiliate member of his.

As for giving to St. Jude's, that's a charitable contribution made by a LLC and filed on their tax returns, so he got that back. Again, all corporate entities do this, its a tax write off as well as the free bulldogs he gives to celebrities. In essence he gets it back - he's a business. NO AMERICAN BREEDER OPERATES AS AN INC., LLC, L.P., OR ANY OTHER CORPORATE ENTITY. My free bulldogs go to children with disabilities, two are with children who have autism (I've gotten nothing back and cannot claim them as a write off because I'm not a business and not in it to make the money Rick and his affiliates make). If Rick is so wonderful, then why not help kids who want a dog why does he have to give to celebrities. BECAUSE ITS FREE ADVERTISING AND BRAGGING FOR HIM, how commendable is that.

Just beware, be careful, and always read between the lines. The world is full of people who can sell ice cubes to Eskimos. Sign nothing and never give someone all your money without first getting the paperwork necessary for that puppy and/or dog, never buy without seeing what you are getting, AND NEVER LET SOMEONE TELL YOU ANY DIFFERENT. Any respectable breeder has no problem providing you everything you need to know what you're buying and has no problems showing the parents and they have no problems replacing and/or reimbursing you for health problems. Any respectable breeder would make time for you, as new owners you are important to our dog's lives.

Excuse me but I believe I'm a woman or perhaps you don't know how to read. Tommy wrote his complaint and is capable of responding as himself, he doesn't need any help from me. MOVE ON OFF THE TOMMY POSTING AS OTHER PEOPLE CRAP (if you were really intelligent and clever you'd click on the email buttons for posters and see that the emails are different than his -- oh wait its much easier to make stupid comments like yours).

I'm complaining because I've had several people who've purchased from SW complain to me and I've seen photos of their bulldogs produced by SW. Tommy has a legitimate complaint and I've seen pictures of that pup and his complaint all TRUE and he has a right to file a complaint, here, with the Better Business Bureau of that State - HELL, IF I WAS HIM, I'D BE SUING AND TEAMING UP WITH ALL THE OTHERS WHO WERE RIPPED OFF AND FILING A CLASS ACTION SUIT. I think I'm perfectly capable of speaking for myself and I'm sick and tired of people getting hurt to make these breeders' rich and I have the god given right to complain and warn people.

If you have a problem comprehending that I'm not Tommy, then it would be best if you not speak at all unless its something intelligent and correct.

PLEASE people... DO YOUR HOMEWORK before you bring home that new baby Bulldog... Try not to purchase the first Bully you come to cause as we all know any Bully baby is a sweet heart. Go to www.thebca.org to learn the standard as well as some of defects our bulldog can suffer from. Visit the AKC www.akc.org/breeds/index.cfm. Find a Bulldog Club close to you (hint: they are on the BCA site) I can't stress this enough... Then visit several reputable Bulldog breeders in you State before making any decision. Even an untrained eye can pick a healthy baby if they have enough to look at.

Thank you for your time... GOOD LUCK!
Terri

Whatever rick or matt I don't have to act like other people here and post false claims like you are doing. Anyone can research these claims here and at [redacted] or the squeaky wheel and find out whose making them. And I guarantee they will find out I have ties to know one with these complaints. Only some one thats a scammer and fraud would come here and make up people to defend them selfs. And we all know whose a scammer and fraud and thats RICK AND MATT JOHNSTON. I mean come on he stole these pictures of American breed bulldogs and put them on one of his bs gbba sites and now refuses to take them off and threatens to sue for slander. This guy has nerve but thats ok because its only slander if you don't speak the truth about someone and everything against him is a fact. He has illegally stole the picture and hopefully soon to be sued for it and i am working on my own lawsuit against this FRAUD.

This is so funny.

Tommy is the only person posting complaints? Well go ahead and email me directly. I'll be happy to talk to you on the phone and even fax you a copy of my pedigree to show that I am real and own one of Rick's dogs. He is EVERYTHING that Tommy is saying!

Oh by the way, his claim of being a "genetic breeder" yet another lie. I pulled my dogs pedigree and found that Limited Edition's mother and Sweet Pea's great grandmother are the SAME Dog. So he has had several puppies from these two dogs that are NOT genetic. Furthermore, Sweet Pea's sister is Sodona who has also produced several pups with Limited Edition. So again line breeding. Rick's website claims NO line breeding for 5 generations, LIE. The facts speak for themselves. Limited Edition's AKC number is NP11254401 and Sweet Pea's is NP09885002 if you'd like to confirm this. So to all of the Rick fans, here's my proof please post yours. Which I doubt you'll do because you have none. You are just trying to get people to buy Rick's lies for gain.

I stumbled across this thread and have read it with much interest (and amusement). As a show/performance breeder myself (of a different breed), I find this whole thing ridiculous. I feel so sorry for those of you who were scammed by this crook. However, it really isn't that hard to spot an irreputable breeder when you know what to look for. There are so many reputable show/hobby breeders out there if you do a bit of research. Two points:

1-$6000 is a lot for even a top quality, proven show dog. Let alone a puppy with no pedigree and no papers.
2-line breeding and inbreeding is a very useful tool and the staple of many reputable breeding programs. It is a common misconception that inbreeding is "bad." The general public thinks so, so I'm sure that this "breeder" built his "GBBA" to further his scam.

The truth about linebreeding is that it will ONLY intensify traits (both good and bad) that are already present in the genome. It causes homozygosity (like alleles for a certain trait combining). This is a good thing for those of us looking to strengthen our bloodlines. If you have a strong bloodline, then it is far more dangerous to do an uninformed outcross (breeding of unrelated individuals) then it is to line-breed. That's IF you have a strong bloodline and quality breeding dogs to begin with.

Who am I to say all this? I am a reputable show breeder, and member of my national parent club, vice-pres of my regional AKC breed club, and member of several AKC kennel clubs. I have actively shown dogs in AKC conformation and performance events since 1993. I have had at least one top 10 ranked conformation dog each year since 1999, and own the top-winning ### of all time in my breed (3 time National Specialty winner and 2 time Westminster Best of Breed winner). I have bred many AKC bench champions, field champions, dual champions, and specialty and group winners - and would be happy to prove it to anyone questioning. I would also be MORE THAN HAPPY to mentor anyone who is wanting to find out how to select a reputable breeder (of any breed) to purchase a puppy from.

Sorry to pipe in even though I'm a non-bulldog person, but I think that reputable show/performance dog breeding is universal. Best of luck to all of you.

I would just like to point out the fact that derrick, dan, cindy, mike, and john who have all came to this board defending that fraud rick and I challenged all of them to SHOW THEIR PROOF and not 1 piece of proof from any one of them. HMMM now thats STRANGE! I just want to point this out because I actually believe most of these people are either rick or matt it doesn't matter though they are both frauds! Now Otilia has shined some more light on this fraud and that everything he says is just fraudulent claims. His whole 5 generations of non line breed champions is also b.s. Anyone who reads this make sure to take note and pass on to anyone and everyone that this man is a fraud and to STAY AWAY FROM SOUTHWEST BULLDOGS!

Since we're talking puppy importers here... let's definitely throw Todd Howard @ Bigbulldogs.com into the mix. I was told my puppy was bred by him and the parents were at his breeding facility. Well... I got the pedigree papers 2 and a half months later... MY PUPPY WAS FROM HUNGARY! Todd doesn't tell any of his buyers where the puppies are from, he waits until they bond with the puppy and then sends the papers. Fortunately, Todd did give me a full refund and I kept my dog. But people need to be aware of LIARS like him, and Rick, epuppypro.com, lobopuppies.com and every other importers out there that doesn't give a rat's a*s about these puppies!

The pictures that one guy has on his site, www.route66bulldogs.com. The guy who is in with Rick and Matt selling bulldogs. Well there are 2 pictures and they said sold on them with different prices when its actual the same dog but different angles. Also that dog which is a white bulldog with brown spots was the dog I was gonna buy from another breeder, That breeder sent me those pictures and one with my name written on a piece of paper next to the dog. So that guy is stealing pictures from other bulldog breeders and posting it as his own

I took a look at that dog... those are two different dogs! You know how many bullies are out there that are white with brown spots? One has shorter legs and one's nose is not filled in all the way yet... look at them closely...

Normal routine when buying a bullie and you are really interested you get in touch with the breeder to find out what they have at that present time.

Help! I just came across this forum. I currently have a deposit with SWB! I have waited 2 months and had heard nothing so I emailed them. I was instantly shown an 18 week old puppy and also told a story that it was a GBBA partners dog who was way down on his luck and didn't have time to place the dog. When I questioned several times I got no straight answer as I am assuming it was returned to the them. I am now told my wait is 3 -6 months because we passed on this dog. Should I cancel my deposit as better to lose 750.00 than 5,000? If there is someone out there who really did get a great dog with papers please contact me!

Thanks!

Your correct he told you a story! Thats what he always has is a story. Try to get your money back if you can and good luck on finding a REAL person that has got a dog from him and that is healthy and has registered papers. I have been searching for 6 months now and have yet to find 1 person that can show me PROOF.

Just an FYI to everyone. I have requested a refund of my deposit thru my card company and paypal. SWB has 3 days to appeal. Of course SWB called me after they got this info 24 hours ago because they so value me as a client. (NO that didn't happen).

Also they cashed a check for 185.00 for the accident insurance. I had to fill out countless forms at the bank today to try to get that back. So currently I am out 1685.00. I also want to thank those that emailed me. Not all were from people who posted on this site. It seems more of us are starting to turn up. I am just your average everyday person, who, when I started researching bulldogs got scared to death, and thought I was getting the best available and willing to pay for it. This is heartbreaking for me. I have devoted more than 6 months to this cause. I live PA about 50 miles from Phila. Willling to drive to NJ, NY, Delaware or Maryland if someone can please refer me to a trustworthy breeder. I am exhausted from my initial search and the stress of the outcome. Please email me if you know someone. Thanks!

I would personally like to thank Tommy Miller who went out of his way to contact me. He took the time out of his own life to tell me his story in detail and I have seen his dogs. He gave me advice and much needed encouragement to continue the "dream".

Not if, but when, this happens to someone else they may come across this info. I would like them to know they do not have to doubt what Mr. Miller has to say. Or my experience with SWB.

And if its true I will post it verifying that what you say is true. But like I've said i have been looking for 6 months now and not found 1 person with some PROOF. So please give some proof or go away because this is a complaints board to try to help people not get ripped off like so many others and if you and the others keep coming here to defend that fraud but show no proof to back up what you say then you are just trying to able that fraud in ripping more people off.

I have pictures of my dogs with AKC numbers and their pedigree... I know what I have and I really do not want to share that with the entire world because there are a lot of people out there that will want to do something bad with it... and for now everything is fine with ours... If something happens to us believe me I will share it with not only you but someone that will be able to do something about it!

Tessa then I guess your attitude is he didn't rip you off so who cares about every one else. You defending him is ridiculous. There are more and more complaints coming out all the time. Just because their not posted here doesn't mean its not happening. I got a email from a guy last week who cant get his papers from rick. I called the akc and gave them sweet pea's (the dam on my contract for my puppy) registration number and they told me their was no registered litter for that female anywhere close to the time rick says my puppy was born. I mean we are talking $6,000 dollar dogs here a person shouldn't have any complaints. These are supposed to be the best of the best so to have any complaints is an outrage! This man is a fraud and there is something being done about it and its just a matter of time before this fraud is completely exposed and in trouble. AND JUST LIKE I STATED THERE HAS BEEN YET 1 PERSON TO COME FORWARD WITH PROOF OF A HEALTHY REGISTERED DOG FROM HIM! So make all the excuses you want to not show any proof but just like I thought you couldn't provide ANYTHING! Now go away and quit trying to assist him in ripping more people off.

That's not my attitude! My attitude is he hasn't ripped me off! What can I do for the ones that supposedly have been ripped off? My showing my paperwork and everything else YOU want from me does not help your case at all...

I have it... and so what if i don't show proof to you? Again, how is that going to help you get what you want? How is it going to help others from getting"ripped off"... Maybe people need to be more proactive in their matters and maybe some of these things would not happened to them... I am just putting out there, there is a side to every story and not everyone has the time to get theirs in! And it is a free speech country, remember? I don't have to go away!

Ok, so if someone was a burglar would you say well he didn't burglarize my place so he's o.k.! Your just ridiculous and a fraud like him. You have no proof and your just full of b.s. Like him! I'm not whinnying i am trying to help people before they get RIPPED off like so many others, unlike you who's assisting him! Your putting down people who have been ripped of thousands of dollars, not just a couple thousand but some $25,000. And your info wouldn't help me none but it would back your b.s up and prove your not just a fraud like him just trying to back him up. But I believe you are a fake and probably some one with rick who benefits from his scam! And it seems very strange that you seem to have the time and are so concerned to continuously come here and defend him. Hmmm what do you have to gain from this? Or are you rick or matt?

Send prove that he's done what you say he's done... It doesn't take much time to check this site... Give me a break! I work on my machine... You sure are fast to judge people, you don't even know me! And i haven't put anyone down...

Why do you keep coming back in here? Got nothing to do? Get going and get the paperwork you said you never got! Instead of heating the pot...

What do you mean my analogy doesn't make sense are you that stupid that I have to slowly explain it to you. Here we go rick rips people off which is basically robbing people of thousands of dollars and your attitude is that he didn't rip you off so he's o.k to you.Your a joke! Listen to jennifer whealy's story on how her swb died only after 1 1/2 years. And you have the nerve to come here and speak anything defending him (but you have no proof) you just a pathetic person! Since you have so much time go back to page 1 and read what every one has to say and their experience with rick and may be you will realize how ridiculous you are being! If ricks dogs are so great then why does he steal pics of a bca members puppies and use them on one of his gbba sites and refuse to remove the pics after being asked by the owner of the puppies. Oh is that why you are scared to show your so called proof because some one like rick will steal your so called proof and try to use it for their benefit. And I will be glad to show you my proof of my contract which you can then contact the akc and find out for your self that their is no registration on a litter for the dam any where near the time my puppy was supposedly born. I can give you vet bills showing A+ health is not true, I can give you pictures of my dog proving he is not show quality, and I can show you proof of my $6,150 payment. Email me your email address or phone number and we can talk. I am not scared like you! And i am here to help people like Natalie not get ripped off $5-6,000. And just read her message and you will see I did help her AND THATS WHY I AM HERE NOW WHY ARE YOU HERE! And you cant get the papers if its a unregistered litter and I will keep exposing this fraud until he's gone!

I AM HERE TO SAY THAT I WAS ONE OF HIS CUSTOMERS AND I AM A SATISFIED ONE! DOGS ARE LIVING THINGS, THINGS HAPPEN. YOU CAN'T GUARANTEE A LOT OF THINGS THAT CAN HAPPEN... YOU SHOULD JUST STOP THE CRAP AND JUST GO TO COURT... WHY ARE YOU DRAGGING THIS THING... YOU'RE ANNOYING...

And the picture thing about using the pictures of someone else was just a freaking picture they never advertised the dogs as theirs!

Tessa or who ever you are, you are truly just IGNORANT!See the problem is you didnt come here to just say you were a satisfied customer of rick's your very first post was attacking me and accusing me of writing a comment and saying my name was anise and then when anise wrote back to your ignorant a** you still tried to say it was me. You shouldn't of came here trying to make accusations accusing me of writing false comments and you shouldn't have been making stupid comments and you wouldn't have been called stupid! So you came here with a motive and it easnt to say you were a satisfied customer! You came on here starting trouble and your trying to defend that fraud! AND JUST LIKE I THOUGHT I OFFERED TO SHOW YOU MY PROOF AND YOU TOTALLY AVOIDED THAT ISSUE! And im about done dealing with you due to your pure ignorance. I cant waste my time with such stupidity! I shouldn't have to go to court to get anything when I was supposed to be dealing with the breeder of champions who breed's the best of the best,I should only have to take crook's and fraud's to court to get what I paid for. But since he is a fraud and a crook I will be seeing him in court. And if im so annoying go away because like I said WHAT ARE YOU HERE FOR, WHAT IS YOUR MOTIVE HERE?And your statement about the pictures only proves your pure ignorance! If his dogs are so much better than American line breed bca bulldogs and he has spent years on getting the features of his dogs and they are the best you will find on the internet then why have a picture of the american bred bulldogs on one of his gbba sites? Like I said go away who ever you are, you had your chance to provide proof to back up your LIES and you couldn't! Your just a fake and a fraud also and like I said im done dealing with some one like you WHO EVER YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE!

All i have to say to those who fell for SW Bulldog scam is GOOD FOR YOU! Basically Rick convinced you that by you buying into his club bull**** you would make money beyond your imagination by breeding these bullies and multiply your stock yr to yr. All you people are upset about is that you got robbed for your money and all these get rich fast dreams Rick promised you were all lies, you don't care about the health of the bulldogs you received, whats really hurting you is thats more money you are losing in vet bills to keep in false investment alive. Its funny how you people have to go to a vet to have them tell you the dogs you received don't fit the standard, if you really researched the breed before purchasing these dogs you would know this yourself. I am really glad this incident happened to you because its people like you that have ruined the english bulldog breed. People like you with no knowledge of the breed are the ones that breed unhealthy dogs cause your just in it for the money. The same thing rick had done to you is what you were planning on doing to other people.

I truly believe that everyone who purchased a dog from Rick had the best of intentions. I believe that everyone wanted to better the breed and that is why it was easy to believe what Rick was saying. As people we always want to believe we are doing something good and when reading the SWB website, how can you not believe it. Rick is a good salesman and probably has a website that sales used cars or property in the desert.

If you truly purchased a bulldog from him and are happy than good for you but, you would be in the minority. I am owned by 6 bulldogs. I have been reading these complaints for some time now and did some research of my own. I have spoken with many Bulldog breeders about Rick and they all say the same thing. SCAM ARTIST! STAY AWAY!

I have 4 champions. 2 Home bred and 2 I purchased as puppies and finished them. For the 2 purchased champions, I paid $2,000.00 for one of them and $2,500.00 for the other. I sell my puppies for $2,000.00. I try to breed the best quality Bulldog possible. I have a total of "0" perfect bulldogs and probably never will but, I try. That is part of the fun and love of the breed.

I have spoken with no less than 70 people about rick and I found 7 people that were happy with the puppies they bought. 5 of them actually called me back when their puppies got "red mange" or "cherry eye". I tried to speak with Rick about these things and he said he would call me back and I have not been able to contact him since. I don't know him personally and i have never purchased a dog from him but I will say this, "After all that I have read, after all the people that I have talked to, I will NEVER purchase an adult dog, a puppy or even a can of soda from this person.

I purchased a "show quality" male from Rick Johnston for $4800. In a nutshell, this dog had only one testicle and suffered from multiple pneumonias. Rick stated a dog with one testicle does not disqualify him for show and is a "desirable genetic trait." Needles to say, I was speechless! In 6 months we had spent a small fortune on vet bills for repeat pneumonias. After seeing a radiologic specialist and a total of three vets we were informed the dog SHOULD NEVER BE BRED. We also had to have surgery to remove the testicle in his abdomen. Unfortunately, because of his poor lung condition we had to wait for the pneumonia to clear. Rick stated the reason for his health issues is because of our neglect and to never contact him again. I simply stated we did not spend $4800 on a bulldog so we could neglect it. We have never received registration or any paperwork. We love our bulldog even though he has had Cherry eye, undescended testicle and multiple pneumonias. These pneumonias have caused permanent Lung fibrosis which can plainly be seen on chest x-ray. This e-mail is 100% truth. I will be glad to speak with anyone having doubts.

Hello fellow victims! : I think it's pretty damn sad that these crooks cannot be stopped and or at least prosecuted. I purchased a beautiful female bully last November (06) from "cutestpups01@yahoo.com /Hugo Carnucci/Tony , whatever his name is. He suggested I send it via moneygram for $ 1800.00 to get it there in time... I did. Still waiting for my puppy. Was a gift for my husband after our dog died after 12 years. I am still heart broken and will not forgive his indecency, ever. I wrote to the district attorney to file charges against him, but he said that "he" wasn't an actual merchant, so he wouldn't help. Guess thats what I get for being stupid! I run across his name on occasion and remind him that he will get his, eventually and he will. Best of luck to all of you!

I bought a english bulldog off of Rick Johnston and we are very pleased and happy with the way our puppy looked. He is one show away from being an AKC champion. He has placed second 9 times and third 3 times with over thirty 1st place wins. We never had a problem with Rick Johnston, we got the AKC papers when we received our pup. Rick Johnston was very professional. My dog is the spitting image of his dad limited edition. He has a big head and weighs over 64 pounds and is under two years at this time. He just currently won a three point major in South Carolina. I am very pleased with my dog.
