I booked a vacation package on Southwest to Cancun from June 10-15 at the GR Caribe by Solaris an all-inclusive 4-star property. The first problem is this hotel is being renovated and they placed us in a room next to the construction, which was heard from sunup to sundown every day of our stay. I recorded the noise heard from inside our room. You could not sleep or hear the TV without turning the volume all the way up. I have a medical condition and could not even rest in my room during the day due to all the construction noise.
This is supposed to have been an all-inclusive property, but the only place I could get bottled water was at the front desk and my room. The room was not restocked with water until I complained and went to the front desk and demanded that I have bottled water now to take my medicine.
I asked for extra pillows due to a back problem, and someone to help with the TV. I had to make at least 3 calls before someone was sent.
The area we stayed in had peeling paint at the ceiling of our doorway and other areas.
To sum up this property was paid good money and we did not get the service or a relaxing vacation that we paid for. We would like our money back for the property stay portion.
I have videos from inside my room to support my complaints.
Claimed loss: I made a copy of the hotel portion. I want all of the money refunded for the hotel. My vacation was ruined.
Desired outcome: Send a message to hotels claiming to be four star and all-inclusive to abide by what they advertised.
