I purchased a phone card from speedypin.com. I specifically chose their AIRES card for the lowest rate (9 cents US/min) to a UK cell phone so that I could contact my wife while she traveled to the UK. I bought a $20 card (with a 69 cent weekly surcharge). That works out to over 200 minutes of talk. I called my wife's UK cell phone several times over the course of FIVE days (that's less than 1 week so only one 69 cent surcharge). I talked for a total of about 40 minutes. My balance should be about $20-0.69-40(0.09) = $15.71.

Yet, my speedypin.com phone card told me that my phone card balance is about $11. I used the card for 20 more minutes talking to my wife. Then, I called speedypin.com tech support. They confirmed that I had been overcharged, and would credit my balance within 30 minutes...

The next day when I go to use my speedypin.com card, my balance is now $7 (it should be approximately $13.80). I immediately called speedypin, com tech support who AGAIN confirms that the balance is not right. She also claims that my balance was credited $3 the day before... So, if they had not given me that credit (which is wrong), my balance would $4 ($16 spent) for 60 minutes of talk. That is 23 cents per minutes... Almost three times what they advertised... She says that "speedypin.com will credit some more money to my balance". Not very reassuring that she doesn't seem to know how much she should credit. Sounded like they are going to put some more piddly money on my balance, keep overcharging me, and hope I give up.

SPEEDYPIN.COM appears to be a big scam, or at best, incompetent... Read the other complaints on this site!

I bought one of the phone cards advertised on speedypin.com and was triple charged on every phone call I made with that card. I had to call customer service of the vendor after every call to get the minutes back. When there were still 100 minutes on the card left the card was suddenly empty. Speedypin promised that they would refund the purchase price, but what a hassle. I will never buy from them again.

Hi Eric,

I already contacted you and we exchanged several e-mails as you might remember. You tried to convince me that all your vendors are "hi-class" and that I should talk to Michelle. I e-mailed with Michelle who wrote that all other customers are happy with the card, but she promised a refund, which I am still waiting for.

Speedypin.com is a terrible company. They will rip you off and their support is useless. They take more money from your account than necessary and overcharge for every call you make.

Do not pend your money on this service. I am extremely frustrated with s'peedypin.com' and will never ever use them again. Please do not make the same mistake I made. This company should not be doing business and I consider them a fraud.

Sincerely,
Tobie

I'm really frustrated, I've bought cards from them in the past and after I call and get no answer and sometimes no connection with the person I am calling the card is totally empty, now I buy 5 more (the min req.) of the same card and dialed the same destination which the card on the site promises 16 mins to cellular for $2 on sale for $1.60 FAST TRACK so I call the destination and it says You have 2 dollars.. then I dial the number and it says "you do not have enough minutes to complete this call", then I try to call another destination that used to be like 30 minutes to cellular with this card and Friday it said you have 8 minutes!? Now this morning it said you have 4 minutes?! I called tech support for the card last night and called the first time a really rude person whistled yelled at me and then hung up the next one gave me a local access number and I tried it and it didn't work, I called back he said, "wait an hour" I waited an hour.. It was now 10 o'clock at night, and it still didn't work. This morning I tried it, still doesn't work! I am now on tech support with Speedy pin for the past 1 hour and no answer!

Just to follow up. I called tech support w/ Speedypin again and they refunded me with another card, hopefully this time they work! If only I knew what to do about wasted phone cards when no one answers or the connection is poor. .

Upon going back to SpeedyPin to buy a new phone card I did a search for the company and found this site. I read all of the complaints here and have to say that my experience has been quite the opposite.

I did have one occurence in the past two years where the card I was buying shorted me some minutes. However, they honored their guarantee and I ended up getting my minutes. In fact, by my calculations I may have received even more.

The person who helped me was named Nick and he was very helpful and nice. I don't know if he is still there to this day, but I found his email to me and his email address is nicholas@speedypin.com.

Good luck.

Hi everybody. I used to work in the telecommunications industry, and I wanted to share some insight with you on calling cards. Like you, I have also purchased cards from this company, but I will not disclose my feelings in order to keep this post neutral.

Cell phone calling cards offer their users a huge convenience. You can purchase a prepaid cell phone calling card for the value that best fits your needs and your finances. Prepaid cell phone calling card minutes are also great for teenagers. Cell phone calling card providers offer convenient pay as you go services, many offer free mobile phones or special reduced prices on new cell phones. There are also no long-term contracts and few termination fees.

You are not only free to go wherever you want with your cell phone, but there is no need to worry about an outrageous phone bill at the end of the month. You can provide them with a calling card each month and once the time has expired, there are no overage charges to worry about. The seconds will not start counting until that much time into starting the ringing.

This practice has long been the standard in most European countries. Consumers complain that in Mexico itself no carrier has announced anything, not even the local telephone company. This has impacted the accounts of thousands of individual users.

People who would enjoy the accessibility of a cell phone for emergency. However, the utility of these cards are reduced due to the large number of digits that need to be entered during usage. To call a long distance number, the user first dials the local access number, then keys in the secret code, followed by the actual long distance number. Based on the long distance number entered, the time remaining on the card is announced, and the call is finally processed through. As telecommunication industries around the world became deregulated, remote memory cards were issued in various countries. Remote memory phone cards can be used from any tone-mode phone and do not require special card readers.

Since remote memory cards are more accessible and have lower costs, remote memory phone cards have proliferated. The first public pre-paid remote memory phone card was issued in the United States in December 1980 by Phone Line. The connection time is calculated 30-45 minutes of connection ring and not from the time of answer. Find the fact about your prepaid international phone card rate calculation. Hang up if there is no answer within the stipulated time to try again.

The Mexican telecommunications authorities have been working on changing the Calling Party Pays service so that national and international long distance calls received by mobile users will be paid by the caller. Prepaid phone cards, also referred to as “pay as you go” plans, are ideal for individuals on a strict budget.

The rates are much cheaper when calling Ireland from the states, and you can find some really great cards on the net, Speedy Pin.com in particular. You can purchase the cards off the internet, then give the card info to your friends and family from home and arrange times for them to call you.

I'm not sure what everyone is complaining about. I have used several cards and found SpeedyPin pretty nifty. So far no problems and my rates are pretty low (calling to Mexico and Canada).

Wow, it is amazing to see how irritated people are getting over this. I have personally purchased cards from Speedypin to call Spain as well as Israel on an ongoing basis for year now and they have been great. I am not going to lie and say there has never been any problems, sometimes mintues get dropped and the cards customer service is less than helpful, but then I call speedypin and the always take care of me by giving me credit on another order, exchanging the card or just giving me a card with extra minutes on it to make up for my lost minutes and the inconvenience. Compared to the other companies I have dealt with in the past, they are definitely one of the top companies out there!

SpeedyPin have the niciest support team. I mean I spoke to tech support many times and every time the person on another end was really nice and willing to help... unfortunatelly this is where good ends. I call Russia (my family and business) on daily base. When you purchase a card it works all right for a month after that they just deduct your money/minutes and never connect you. For example for last three weeks they connected me to Russia only once! Tech support is very nice and they tell you politely there is NO CONNECTION to Russia and it is not their fault. I use AT@T right away and get connected no problem. SpeedyPin fails to connect.
1. I get connected only once in a blue moon
2. They charge me every time just for dialing number

Do your math! Over all SpeedyPIn is a waste of money and my time!

I am going on the world record. It is has been almost a month the Speedy Pin can't provide me a connection to Russia. Not mentioning they charge me every time just for dialing a number. I called their technical support department at least fifteen times. They keep telling me it is not their fault, it is the lines are down in Russia. The dinosaurs ate the lines... sometime I forget we live in the 21 st century. According to Speedy Pin Russia has been isolated from the rest of the world for last four weeks. Poor Russians... and poor Speedy Pin customers who spend their money on NOTHING! All those weeks I have been using another phone providers and been connected to my family and business imediatelly. Should I fail a lawsuit against Speedy Pin or wait another few months till they are able to provide a promised service?

I've been using Speedy pin's prepaid cards for about a year now so far I haven't had any bad experience regarding their products, the only thing I remember is losing a 10$ card pin well this problem was resolved immediately by contacting their customer service, the customer representative is reliable and very easy to approach she explained me that I lost my 10$ card pin because they are having a technical issues and promised me that it will come back after a hour or two so I waited after a hour the customer service representative had called me to confirm that I can now use my 10$ card pin for they already had fixed the issue. Based on hat experience I can say that speedy pin has a well trained customer representative for they know how to handle such kind of issues well. Speedy Pin is a great choice for prepaid cards not just because of their affordable rates but also on how they take care of their clients.

The previous complaints are way too far from what I had experienced upon using speedy pin prepaid cards, the service speedypin had provided me is quite awesome well I lost a certain amount from the prepaid card purchase and reported it to speedypin the customer service representative had assisted me in a professional way. After a hour or two the customer service I had talked to called me to confirm if I received the prepaid card pin they sent me to replace the amount I lost.
