My husband was prescribed a medication for weight loss that required a prior authorization. Our pharmacy faxed the paperwork twice but Dr Bansal denied receipt, so the pharmacy staff hand delivered it. Dr. Bansals office then refused to request a prior authorization from the insurance company using the excuse that they will not pay for it anyway and it takes too much time. We called the insurance company and verified that they would in fact cover this medicine for my husband with the one page paper needed by the dr office stating why. My husband informed Dr. Bansal’s office but they then wanted him to provide proof in order to fill out the paperwork. I do not record phone calls. I am not sure why this has to be such a big deal for this doctor office when everyone else does it without hesitation, with a smile.
Recommendation: Use a different doctor- do not use Dr Bansal.
