I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with Summit Appliance and their handling of a warranty claim for one of their refrigerators, Model # VFFBF2286SS. I purchased this refrigerator just two years ago, and despite the compressor being under a 5-year warranty, it has stopped working.
When I contacted Summit for assistance, I was shocked to learn that they are refusing to honor the warranty and have instead suggested I pay for a completely new refrigerator as a replacement. This is completely unacceptable, especially considering the fact that this model has been discontinued, potentially due to a defect in design or manufacturing.
Summit seems to be playing every game possible to avoid replacing the defective refrigerator. I’ve purchased several of these refrigerators for my building, and I am now deeply concerned that I will encounter similar issues with the other units. It is alarming to think that I may be left with several non-functioning refrigerators in my building, without any support from the company, despite being covered under warranty.
I urge Summit to honor their warranty and take responsibility for the defective product. I have been a loyal customer, but this experience has completely undermined my trust in their products and customer service.
Summit Appliance, please do the right thing and replace the faulty refrigerator as promised under the warranty.
