This guy is the BIGGEST RIP OFF when it comes to building a home.
He does not know how to build a real home. He has to go through company's that already have ones premade up. He has lost so many contracts because of this. I delt with this jerk for a while and it took this guy for ever to build what I wanted. His sub contractors do mess up the work. This guy hires drunks and fly by night sub contractors. Don't get scammed like other people did. Watch out for this company, they are BAD NEWS. Sun Coast Builders from Edenton, NC Builder License Number #50459. I am not sure who in their right mind would give this guy a contractors license. I guess anyone in NC can get a contractor license but it takes a REAL HOME BUILDER to BUILD a GOOD HOME.

If you want a REAL HOME built then you may want to check out a REAL HOME BUILDER and not this fly by night company.
He has unhappy customers and if you do talk to any so called happy customers they are just friends of his that cover for him and say he does a great job. His son almost made him lose everything he had with the company. This guy really has no idea what he is really doing. You try and get him to build something with his own hands and he does not know what he is doing. Warning you will have things alot of thing s messed up if you don't keep track with your investment. He does not care about his customers. He was contracted with a different company and after all the complaints they dropped him as an authorized agent or company to represent their company. He is no longer an agent with that company.
He will fold someday but not soon enough. Also this guy only knows how to build really small homes and anothing normal size or BIG. Also this guy is never on his building site like normal builders. When you want to know something about the status on your home he takes for ever to respond to you. Best advise stay away from Sun Coast Builders of Edenton, North Carolina. You don't want your home to be messed up by this guy or company. BEWARE!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
No one is given a contractor's license you have to pass a test and earn them. Maybe the person writing this review needs to look up the definition of slander because that's exactly what he or she has done in writing this trash. I imagine his sub contractors would very offended being accused of being fly by night by someone who obviously has no idea what they are talking about. The best thing to do if anyone wants to know the truth is to call the building inspectors in the counties he has worked in. Ray is a decent guy who would rather loose money than make a customer unhappy. He bends over backwards to make sure everything is right. Yes, and customers you talk to are probably his friends because that is how it is when he finishes a house. His son did not make him loose anything either. He is also a decent guy with a home and family of his own. How dare you to say this about him. It takes a sick person to try to ruin the reputation of not only Ray and his son but all of the sub-contractors that he uses. Nothing you wrote is the truth! This says a lot about YOUR character!
I came across this post after I had REFERED a friend to Ray because we had such a great experience...which we went off a referral to him from customers of his. We got into a discussion with them about building a house and they referred us to Ray. I can honestly say I have never had a more positive experience dealing with such a large purchase for our family. Ray was VERY knowledgeable in regards to home building and bringing different ideas to the table. He was the one that suggested 6in exterior walls as an upgrade to help save on energy cost and we have defiantly seen the savings from that suggestion. He was always willing to answer any questions and I found his staff..yes his SON to be a great funny guy who did a great job. It hurts me to see that someone could even write anything remotely like this regarding him or his company. You obviously wanted a mansion for the price of a double wide. I hope that anyone that sees this doesn't go off this one persons "opinion " because that's exactly what it is...not factual at all!
