For almost a decade we have had a Wednesday to Sunday subscription with auto pay through an American Express card. Last week, after not receiving the paper, I was informed by the Sun Sentinel that my subscription had been suspended due to the rejection of payment by AMEX. Apparently this rejection had occurred in June of 2019. Not only was I not informed of this between June 2019 and August 2023 but upon checking with AMEX, I was informed there had never been a rejection and the card in question was in good standing. Indeed, I have had an AMEX account since 1982. After more than 4 years, without any prior notice, I was billed in excess of $2,000. During this entire time my subscription had been honored. I had taken numerous vacation stops with apparent credit for these stops. I have tried to speak to the Customer Service on multiple occasions without any answers to my questions or resolution to the matter. I have even offered to arrive at an amicable settlement although I question owing anything based on the paper’s mishandling of this entire matter.
I would love someone in a position of authority to contact me and help resolve this matter.
