In August of 2021 I was approached by SunPro about installing solar panels on my property. I researched the panels, and determined that it would be of benefit to me long term. Before signing any contract, I requested that a clause be added. This clause stated that my system had to be installed so that it could be claimed on my 2021 taxes for Iowa. 2021 was the last year they were offering the tax credit. In order to claim the credit, it must be installed and operational. My panels were installed in October of 2021. However, the system was not operational. In fact, the system did not become operational until September of 2022. From October 21 through the end of the year I tried to get this done. They have cost me over $9,000 in tax credits - and payments I owed last year from not having the credits. This delay also cost me an entire peak production time. Those panels sat there all summer and did nothing. I have contacted the company multiple times. The customer rep is always very nice, but she can only pass the message on. I have been contacted 2 times by managers who say they will look into the situation and call back. I have heard nothing. I believe ADT Solar bought out SunPro at the beginning of the year.
