I dealt w Stephen K and what a liar And misrepresenting the products that he's trying to sell all he wanted to do was upsell upsell upsell. Gave us the wrong policy number of the policy we did purchase from him and much much more. I will file Proper complaint with the ComplaintsBoard.com right after I have my procedure tomorrow. My agent in Minnesota was awesome
My agent in Minnesota was awesome. Andy. I totally didn't remember filling out the info card and sending it back, but knew/ remembered that I was interested in the product. (they will kindly send you the card via text if you want a memory refresher and to know they aren't a telemarketer) I have a great price on my life insurance. Exactly what I was looking for. (mortgage protection insurance) Highly recommend everyone get coverage if you don't have any. I was surprised to read the comments below. It truly depends on the character of the agent you buy from honestly. You can go to any company and there are bad seeds, that doesn't mean the company is bad as a whole.
I am both a client & agent with Symmetry Financial Group, we operate as a broker between families and big insurance carriers. We specialize in the mortgage protection sector to protect families in the event of a loss, the home is covered. The way we do that is through direct mail that the families send in. I have had incredible experiences not only being on the receiving end of the policy types that Symmetry offers but in terms of a career it has been very rewarding. Personally I have 4 policies with the company with 3 different carriers; I have helped over 400 families across 7 states protect their families. It is however unfortunate that several families have had poor experiences with bad agents. I hope people realize that some unprofessional people who don't care about that families they're sitting with, does not reflect the company as a whole. Agents like that don't last more than 3 months here. The overwhelming majority of our dealings are professional, respectful, and centered on serving the best interests of the clients we meet with. I HIGHLY recommend them if you need any type of life insurance product or financial service.
I have been an active agent with SFG for over 5 years now. One of the qualities this company always keeps in the front of everything is making a positive impact. They have always been on a mission to change the view of the "insurance agent" which for years has had a bad rap. Heck when I first heard about the position I was turned off because insurance? Really? Once I got to know the company and the people I knew they were on a mission to make insurance simple and comfortable for people who request information about protecting their family. It's an important decision and you need to be able to trust the person you are working with. When I came here I knew nothing about insurance. I knew there were more people like me out there and if I could learn enough to educate others and make a good living doing it I could really help a lot of people. I am proud to be a part of this company and what it stands for.
Extremely unprofessional organization. Avoid. If I could have provided zero stars, I would have.

Alrighty buyer beware
Alrighty buyer beware. I wouldn't recommend anybody doing business with SFG. THE JACKSON AGENCY SFG *** This guy calls me up on the middle of my workday to tell me how "unprofessional" I am for cancelling my policy within the allowed time-frame lol he wants to know why I tell him, he keeps prying so I get frustrated based on the fact he continues to insinuate that I am in the wrong for exercising my right to cancel. Net, net while I found him to be harassing the entire time, I believe he mumbled the phrase "Don't Die" as the phone call ended now considering the current health crisis in America AND my history AND the fact that this man sells life insurance, I found that statement to be nothing short of appalling (let alone unprofessional). Disgraceful behavior by this gentleman. I found a better policy for me with the help of my father who worked in life insurance for years. @alex of the jackson agency SFG should be ashamed of himself.
SFG was more than willing to do anything to get me to sign a policy, and promised that they would be there to assist me at any time. When I had multiple billing problems with the insurance company they signed me with, my SFG broker was not willing to help me at all, and I had to deal with the insurance company myself. After a little more research, I found that the recruiting process for their agents is a pyramid scheme, which I despise. I should done more research before I signed on with them.

Overall Symmetry Financial Group itself was a great company. However, the issue is when agency owners control if you get "A"/fresh leads or not. If your like me, I did not. I worked leads that where between 2-6 years old. To be exact I made 1011 dials with 5 appoints and 3 sells. Just to be transparent. When I asked about "A"leads in our GroupMe chat my upline S.O. messaged me and asked me to call him, which was shady. It was like he didn't want the rest of the team to know about it. He told me I needed to make 1000 dials and have placed 5 pieces of business. The website doesn't state that. Long story short, then I was told new agents don't have access to "A" leads. I then emailed the leads department to verify and they said that as a new agent you do have access as long as you place 3 pieces of business,(which I did) it's just up to the Agency Owner. So after being lied to multiple times I put on Linkdin that I was open for work, mysteriously the next day my access to Virtual Mentor was locked. It's funny because you can see who views your profile on Linkdin and when. I had an appointment the next day with a potential client so I email M.K. and she wanted me to text her to clear some stuff up. I texted her to let her know she could call me whenever. I missed her call and called back within an hour with no answer. So, I wasn't able to meet with the client and lost a potential sell. That was the last straw for me. Like I said SFG is a good company, low comp but the two at the top of ZCF S.O. and R.K.J held the fresh leads for themselves. I know because I reached out to a few people on the "team". To end, I would recommend doing your research before signing a contract with them. Comps are so much higher else where with the same training if not more. With them it's all about recruiting. I hope this helps someone.
As a licensed insurance agent, it troubles me to hear about so many instances of shady dealings. Personally, it makes me furious when "agents" treat people in this way especially considering the one-sided nature of insurance knowledge. The average client does not have the technical knowledge to "suss out" how a policy works, the value of coverage, and when something is fishy and prior to working in both P&C and Life insurance I was the same way. Simply put, you don't know what you don't know. As a result, I have always taken a different approach and viewed my role as providing knowledge for a client to make the best choice for themselves and their family, even if that meant they weren't buying a policy from me or my company. I provided the background above to say the following to those folks who have experienced the appalling conduct described below, felt wronged, or others who know of underhanded dealings or something "not feeling right": YOU HAVE OPTIONS! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME CALLING THE COMPANY! It's not a slight to anyone but individual companies don't have the resources to investigate claims like those made here the proper way. Here's what you can do:
1. Go to the Department of Insurance website for your state. Most sites have a place for you to search for a representative's producer or license number. ALL AGENTS conducting insurance transactions in ANY state must be licensed and appointed to do so and are subject to testing and continuing education requirements. Basically, we (licensed agents) know better than to try and dupe people because apart from it being a morals violation for anyone with a heart, we could lose our licenses at a minimum.
2. Each state has insurance regulations on the books and many of them are aimed at companies and their agents. Punishments for violations can range from fines to jail time depending on the state. If you feel as though someone has been unprofessional, misled you, done something underhanded or that did not seem "right", or even potentially committed insurance fraud (which is a felony charge by the way) take action. PLEASE REPORT CONDUCT TO YOUR STATE'S DEPARTMENT OF INSURANCE! At the very least it will be on record.
3. As a preventative measure, when dealing with insurance sales in the future, whether you are changing your auto or home insurance to a new company or buying life insurance for the first time or from a new agent, you can ask for their information to verify that they are legitimate. I regularly provide my first and last name to clients and if someone wants to look me up on my state's DOI site, I'll even provide my license number for them to verify. I have nothing to hide and my record is spotless so there are no issues there on my end. It is also worth noting that there are licensed agents who may not reside in your state but are legally conducting business within it. I hope this helps folks!

Great company! Very helpful agent with my life insurance and Medicare. Very knowledgeable and patient to explain it all to me.
Spamming me on my phone for a product I actually don't have.
Scammers buyer beware
As with anything in insurance it depends on who you get as an agent. I would have given a 4.5 if ComplaintsBoard.com had let me but I rounded up because overall I had a really good experience after an initial negative experience. If based on first agent I'd give Symmetry a 2-3 at best. The second agent was a five. The good: I talked with two different agents over a span of about 4-5 months. The first wasn't the best (see my the bad). The second agent called me and let me know that my case file hadn't been closed out. He asked if the other agents had explained to me what my options were and he hadn't. He apologized on behalf of the company and explained that Symmetry has independent agents and though all have to be state certified and trained that some just aren't as well versed in what they are selling. He asked for the persons name that I spoke with and apologized. He asked a few questions and told me that he could run a quote and explain my options if I was interested. I told him no thank you but did want his name and number. He gave me his first and last name and offered to send me his info and agent number via email. I did take him up on that and called him on a weekend about a month later. He answered his phone and said he wasn't in the office but if I could give him 20 minutes he would call me back. After he called me back he ran my info and set up a meeting the next day to discuss the policy options via Zoom. It took about 15 minutes. When I asked him a question that he didn't know about if a medicine I took would effect getting approved, he said he could ask a partner and then did provide an answer to my question. He asked me if I wanted a policy review of any other life insurance. He ran my info and told me that my existing policy was better for the next three years and that he recommended that I keep that policy. After a week he called me and told me that one of my medical conditions was rated by two different policy providers as a higher risk and that would affect the price. He met again with me via Zoom and showed me the other options. He after a couple weeks got me coverage that covers more than half my mortgage and will give my partner and kids more than enough time to sell the house or refinance. I hope they keep the house but when I'm gone that's their problem. :) I appreciated the 2nd agent and if anything would say Symmetry should train some of their agent contractors on better customer service. Other good: After I got covered my agent sent me a nice coffee cup in the mail and has sent me a birthday card with a real written note it in it. Nice touch. The bad. The first agent that called me asked about the mortgage protection information that I had requested when I purchased my house. I hadn't purchased but had refinanced. I had been in the same home for over a decade. I also didn't remember filling out a request for info. I had but it had been about 3 months before the first agent called and he said that it said I had done it recently. He didn't seem to know much about me. I asked for his last name and number to call back as I was at work and he wouldn't give either to me. I asked could I call back on the number he called me on and he said it might not ring to him. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he said that wasn't possible. I told him I wasn't interested and he did politely apologize and told me to have a good day. If that was my only experience with Symmetry then I'd be done. Thankfully the second agent was much better. Other negatives. Sometimes I got triple called while at work. I did asks the second agent why this happened. He said a lot of their customers provide cellphones that block unknown numbers and that sometimes a triple dial gets through and that they also serve elderly people that don't hear the phone on first rings. Annoying but wasn't end of the world after it was explained to me.
