Synchrony Bank Billing care credit / synchrony bank

They set up billing through my bank account. They said payment did not go through. I get proof from my bank that payment was made. They still make me make a payment or they will assess late fees. After all the drama and two week later they prove that I made my payment they do not want to refund my extra payment. The indian woman continued to argue with me. I wish they had people that understood english. I still continue to have the same issue with them every month. I have retained an attorney to litigate for me I am tired of dealing with them. Do not do business with them they are crooked.

Synchrony Bank Unable to download transactions to quicken!!!

For over two weeks I have been unable to download my Amazon Store Card purchases to Quicken.

When I contacted the bank they said they were aware of the problem and the "back office" was looking into it?

I said I wanted to complain to someone in that office and they said no one could communicate directly with them?

This is ridiculous, all other financial institutions download fine,

When you export the file to transaction.qfx, you may be getting an error:
error importing qfx java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: "R"

Open the file in notepad or some text app, and look for
R
R

and change the R to the date of the download such as this:
[protected]
[protected]

I'd love to know who to call at the home office to get them to fix it, but...

Synchrony Bank Care credit fraud department

I had my card stolen, reported to company, ftc, my local PD and state attorney general office.i have everything notarized fraud department has offered me no help. But they closed my account out of revenge.this whole thing has left me homeless, living on the streets, they sent me a letter blaming me they pulled my credit report in Aug and one month later closed my account. All of my rights were violated every single one of them with my state. I have no home and I wanted to know who is responsible for that, that is my right. It is not right to blame the victim.ive tried contacting through emails, letters phone calls and no one was helpful.no one was giving me answers. because I don't have a perfect credit score I can't get anything. But my friend who has 750 score was treated like royalty. That's not right. I want answers to who left me kicked out on the streets with nothing.

Synchrony Bank Paypal credit

Failure to apply credits from paypal. A credit for $48.99 was issued by paypal on aug. 18, 2020 and a credit for $47.99 was issued by paypal on aug. 18, 2020.
They also placed a charge of $2.00 on my account. I called the paypal credit
Toll free number on sept. 20 and spoke with mary. She confirmed the credits were there but had not been applied against my account. Paypal credit, aka synchony bank has many complaints against it. I expect these credits to be applied immediately and no further interest charges be applied. If I had known about the lack of integrity of paypal credit I never would have signed-up. See attachments

Synchrony Bank Security pop-up.

Security pop-up request I choose between a text or phone message to verify it's me. I have to choose one of three phone numbers to send it to neither of them are the one I've had for 9 years. After calling the last two days and the rep tells me the number they have on file is correct, they pass me on to tech dept who tells me they get those numbers from the credit bureau and I have to contact all 3 of them to update my info. Not going to happen. I have a good, almost excellent rating. I haven't missed a payment of any kind any where the last 101 months according to Credit Karma. This is an eBay issue through Synchrony. I also see the handle my Walmart and another one. I cancel every account if the require me to go outside of their system to satisfy their issues because they are too lazy to do their own research. I request they find another way for me to verify who I am.

Synchrony Bank Closing of all accounts

I had the Amazon, Lowes, TJmax, Paypal, Ebay mastercard, GAP, and Cathy Pacific total around 80K in credit. Out of the blue, all cards was canceled on 9/17. I found out by embarrass myself in the store when it was declined. All payments were made on time and never late. I don't even carry any balance (who wants to pay the high interest they charge). After 20 mins on the phone with a services rep who barely speak English and she told me I am a "High Risk customer". A High Risk ? I paid all my bills on time and been a customers for years and years. Synchrony don't just give anybody 80, 000 in credit because they are high risk.

I think it is not a good way to treat a customer by cancel the line with out any notice. Maybe it is legal or maybe is not for the bank to do that but it is very bad for business or to retain the customers. Nevertheless, I hope an ambulance chasing attorney would start a class action against Synchrony.

Maybe Synchrony forgets there are many other banks issue credit card too.

I had a Mastercard that they sent me in September then turn around and close the same account in November and I had my account on auto pay. Just don't get how they can give you credit then just take it away with out any reason after you had went by there terms to make your account right like they ask. How is this legal ,Not to mention it really messes with your credit score. someone needs to file lawsuit and close them down permanently ,this type of company should not even be in business...

The best way any of us can fight back against the powerhouse of Synchrony is to fight the companies that allow them to exist. Any company that is affiliated with Synchrony bank I will no longer give my money to untill they drop Synchrony. There are plenty of other companies that do not partner themselves with them. I beg anyone who has been affected by Synchrony to do the same.

Same here. Ten years of membership at Sam's Club with both Synchrony's MasterCard and Sam's Credit Card. I'm getting ready to sue Synchrony. Right now, I have sent a complaint of interest to my Arizona Department of Public Safety with cover copies to the Federal Trade Commission (that handles this type of action), Sam's Corporate Headquarters and Walmart Corporate Headquarters in Bentonville, AR. While a lawsuit may not be what all of you want to get involved in; I still would suggest, at the very least, writing the companies that put their name on Synchrony's cards. In my case, Walmart is silent now, but they won't be soon--although I did express to them that this was between Synchrony and myself, but made them aware that, in the age of social media, Sam's had its name on the card and it is Sam's that the public will blame. If it is okay with everyone here, I'm going to cut and paste your testimonies as character testimony to how Synchrony operates its business.

YES! I’d be honored to be a co-complaintant if we could get this to class action status! Go read complaint from Star City Tactical I am in Waxahachie Texas. To add fuel to my fire, Synchrony ALSO took / voided all the rewards I had earned. I have $550 worth in gift cards due me on CareCredit. Yeah, they list in terms if account closed you forfeit rewards - well if consumer closes they have a script advising this and tells consumer to go redeem then close! But if Synchrony closes for no reason, no warning, adios! This “bank” needs to go! I won’t go down without a fight.

I just had the same thing happen with Synchrony they closed my Lowes without notice...never late paid off ahead of time and they do nothing to help when you call. You can add me to your fight,,10 years and great credit but they closed my account.

Just out of sheer curiosity, how do you plan to present a lawsuit against a lender whom, like all revolving credit lenders, you agreed when applying (whether or not you read it, but I'm assuming you didn't) that either you - or they - can close your account at any time, for any reason - or no reason at all?

They are not legally obligated in any way, shape, fashion, or form to lend you money or do business with you and can choose to stop, even if they just randomly threw a dart at a phone book and it landed on your name that day, just for giggles.

I went to pay off my Lowe’s balance with a new home equity line. I paid off numerous other cards. This one kept rejecting my payment. I finally used a debit card to zero it out after two weeks of bs. I just found out they now closed my account. Whatever. I was going to close it first! Never again. Garbage company. Lowe’s likely won’t get my business after the fiasco either.

Synchrony Bank just cancelled all my credit cards. Found out today when I went to make a purchase and my card was declined. I was told I was a "high risk". Really! Never a late payment and I paid off all my cards with them. Never will I apply for a synchrony card again.

Without advance notice, Synchrony Bank closed all of my cards.

I have a 770 credit score. Zero late payments for many years. I pay off every balance monthly.

With my Venmo credit card through them, I earned a total of $783 in cash rewards by the time the canceled me.

The letters which arrived in the mail for each of their cards told me that my purchase history suggested I was a risk for non-payment. Which makes no sense. I used their Venmo card for the same three places of business to specifically capitalize on their cash rewards program.

I think they didn't like that I carried no interest-earning balances and that I was maxing out my monthly cash rewards consistently.

I will never apply for a Synchrony card again for as long as I live.

Same, chalk up one more to the High Risk closure of all my Synchrony accounts. Loss of $1.4k in Amazon rewards goes with that too. My guess is that they'd find any excuse to close an account that they weren't earning fees on.

THIS is what I think. I used my account in a way that avoided me paying interest… paid them off after purchases and didn’t pay any interest. Had my Lowe’s card for 17 years. I’d use it and get the 5% off and then pay it off. Or do the no interest for 12 months deals. Not one late payment. In SEVENTEEN years. HSN for five years and same. 800 credit score. They closed me out on both accounts and stated “High Risk of Failure to pay.” Complete garbage. They couldn't tell me any real reason. Just basically it’s their decision so tough luck. This company is absolutely horrible.

Synchrony has issued return merchandise credits and reversed them later hoping customers won't notice. They are very unscrupulous and have many class action lawsuits.

Synchrony is canceling all cards to force reapplication forcing agreement to e-statement, electronic communications, and sit on the banks servers. They can be altered at any time. This eliminates the class action paper trail.

It's all to cover corruption.

I'm glad (but frustrated) that I am not the only one dealing with them. I had a Discount Tire, Mattress Firm, and Sam's Club Card (not the Mastercard). Discount Tire was paid off and I used it for emergencies, but since it was paid, they closed it without notice and I didn't find out until days AFTER it was closed. Then they lowered the limit on my Sam's card to just a little over the last payment made so not it always appears that I have a high utilization...which affects my credit score and EVERYTIME I make a payment, they lower the limit again and are doing the Same with the Mattress Firm/Home card...

I'm thinking of just getting a loan to pay them completely off and close them and warn others NOT to use them...Capital One, Credit One and others are a lot easier to work with!

Just got me for four accounts. Saying I’m a high risk. All accounts have been used and paid off. Nothing has changed on my credit reports all cards paid in full and only have a house and car payment and one personal loan. Heck my score has went up from the time of opening the accounts. I guess they are panicking with the bank’s closing. But this is crazy. I found out from credit alerts. Haven’t received any notification from them. I’ll never open a new account with them.

Synchrony is doing this to me too. They started it about 2 years ago. I had numerous cards issued by them, some with zero dollar balances and some closer to 70%-80% utilization. I decided to diligently work on increasing my credit score so I could get a mortgage finally, and have credit accounts with lower interest rates, etc... so I began paying off my high balance cards in large chunks and it was working for a short while. I watched my score go from just over 600 to 700 and was really motivated by these results. Also, it felt great being free from the daunting feeling of coming too close to your credit limit(s).

Then the first strike came when they cut the credit limits on all of the cards I had just paid down (some paid off entirely) by over half. About 6 months later, strike #2: they halved all credit limits on cards with zero $ balance and closed a few. I couldn't understand why this was happening because I always thought that credit limits were earned and that if you play by the rules and do everything right you'll get to keep them and even increase them! This was the feeling that I was being punished for doing the right thing. I obviously had to figure out what was in it for them. Why else would they be sniffing around my accounts if they didn't stand to gain something?

Anyway, I talked to Customer "Service" reps and their supervisors numerous times and instead of just admitting that the pandemic had them worried or that they were protecting themselves and trying to make up for the fact that they had overextended and mismanaged their own finances, they chose to blame me. I'm "high risk". Zero late payments and zero $ balances beg to differ. But no, this had nothing to do with them according to Synchrony. It was all Trans Union submitting reports to them making me out to be a potential threat. Yeah, right. I have no patience with liars, especially the cowardly ones and the ones who make massive amounts of money from the lies they so easily pass off as the truth.

Regardless of facts or truth, it is legal for them to do this and we are completely powerless to stop or prevent it. I was told to use my cards with zero balances for small purchases occasionally and then pay them off so they don't see them as being inactive. I did that and and no longer have any cards with zero balances because strikes 3 and 4 closed them all. So that doesn't work!

The only accounts they've left alone are the few I have that actually earn them interest. Yep, I'm apparently not high enough risk to be forced to stop giving them money every month.

After two years of focusing on doing everything possible to increase my credit score it is currently 604 and I owe it ALL to Synchrony Bank's decision to balance chase me and keep me above 80% utilization. They have ruined my chances of ever getting a mortgage and have killed off the faith I used to have in being recognized and rewarded for doing the right thing and playing by the rules. Selfish, greedy cowards.

Synchrony Bank Credit Cards

Synchrony Bank has closed all my accounts with the same notice saying I could be a risk! I've never made a late payment or a minimum payment, this wreaks of COVID and my age! I was not informed in a timely fashion and was embarrassed when I tried to use my Lowe's card! I am amazed we have no recourse but also amazed that they seem to be doing this not just to me but many more people!

Synchrony Bank Yamaha financial

I have a yamaha motorcycle loan funded by sychrony bank. Buyer beware of yamaha financial. I made my payment earlier than the due date. They applied it to the principal instead of the payment it was meant for, they call me and tell me my payment is past due, they charge me a late fee and then tell me there is nothing they can do. It is my fault for paying to early. Meanwhile it was made the same month it was due. They would not reverse the late fee unless I made a 2nd payment for august. So horrible.

Synchrony Bank Refund payment for 178.00 immediately

On Aug. 28, 2020 I paid $178.00 to my Lowes account by accident. I discovered the mistake recently, and contacted Synchrony via Customer Service chat and spoke with Bella (Chat id [protected]) to see about refund. 1. I was told it would take 10-15 working days to get the refund. 2. I was denied the right to speak to a supervisor. 3. I was told that the funds could not be sent back to my bank, but a check must be cut. 4. I was told credit balances are held 45 days before refund is initiated by Synchrony. Your policies are unconscionable and borderline fraud. You need to change the policy in favor of the customer when there is a clear credit balance situation. You get any money I owe to you in a timely manner. I should received my refund equitably.

I would appreciate a call back to my cell number [protected] within the next 72 hours. If I do not hear back from you, I will seek legal advice because I KNOW that I am not the only one of your millions of customers being treated with such disrespect and fiduciary dishonor.

Synchrony bank is the bottom of the pile.
I have a 817 credit score at the top 3 reporting Companies.
They lowered my Pay-Pal credit and closed my Care Credit. When you call them they have no idea why they closed and lowered limit. There interest rates are outrageous. But I pay off my debt every month so that doesn't apply to me. Perhaps that's the problem, they can't bend me over and stick it to me, so their only option is to close accounts that are in good standing.
IF YOU APPLY FOR CREDIT AND SEE SYNCHRONY BANK ANYWHERE ON THE APPLICATION MY ADVICE TO YOU IS RIP IT UP AND GO ANYWHERE ELSE.

The bank charge me late fee I mail the payment 10 days before due. I sent a letter regarding the late fee, that either they held the check or mail delayed. The next month they credit my account for the late fee. The next month they again placed a late fee. I have enough with this bank. So I decided to pay off the promotional balance on the statement. I sent a letter with the payment stating if they do not agree this is amount owe return the check. On the check it states balance paid in full. The next month they are billing me for late fee's and placing interest on the late fee. I am not going to pay no more money
schrony bank. They call every day with a recorded message. You cannot talk to a human. I keep all statements and letter in case we go to court. I am not giving this bank another cent. Not even a postal stamp.

Synchrony Bank Closing accounts

Synchrony Bank has closed all 5 of my credit cards with their company without notice. I have been with these companies (Lowes, Paypal, Amazon, Care Credit, and PayPal Mastercard) for years and have never been late and even paid above the minimum and before the billing was due. It is a shame that the companies that moved their accounts to synchrony now will not have good customer service and members with their establishment.

Synchrony Bank Closing of accounts

I had 16 accounts with synchrony out of no where all my accounts were closed, never been late and have been a customer for almost 10 years, I understand banks can close accounts but the way they did it I feel is unjust and unethical, being treated like this is wrong, the reason is high risk how is that possible when my income has been the same, they approved my accounts and no issues with my accounts. I requested to be contacted and no one has ever contacted me, so that is a good sign they are guilty

OMG, this happened to me yesterday. I believe I have 7 or 8 accounts with them! How did this affect your credit score? I'm horrified that it's going to have a HUGE impact on my credit score. Did you ever hear back from anyone?

Synchrony Bank Sam's club credit card

I have had my my account for a year or a little over a year. I have an exceptional payment history and frequently pay off the account balance in full or with in 2 or 3 payments and have never been late. Recently synchrony reduced my credit limit down to almost the amount I owed which impacted my credit score. I attempted to discuss this matter with them over the phone in order to understand their reasoning for doing this to a customer with an exceptional payment history with them. They mentioned my credit report which has all the same accounts and information as when they gave me the card and as a matter of fact I have a higher credit score than when they approved me, rather I did until they reduced my credit limit negatively impacting my credit score. If a customers reward for having an exceptional payment history is for a creditor to punish them by reducing their credit limit and thus negatively impacting their credit score which they have worked hard at improving where is their incentive to continue to pay their bill on time when it seems not to matter or make a difference. I am really disappointed with synchrony an their unfair practices.

Cancelled my account without Warning.

Have had this card for years. They closed the account without any notice. Said they were sending new cards but they hadn't arrived yet. SO, I'm trying to pay for groceries at Sam's, the card will accept me as a member but not pay. Thank you Discover for being my saving grace. Needed to fill up gas tank, again, not at Sam's (where I am already).

I call Synchrony customer service. Three times! Rep told me that they will not expedite a card since the new card was mailed 6 days ago. Just wait and if it doesn't show up, call back. Also, I need to sign for it so I must stay home. Who stays home waiting for mail? Also if I don't get it, they will expedite a card that will arrive in about 4 days. The last rep I spoke to dropped the call when I asked to speak to a customer care supervisor. Really? That's customer service?

I'll tell you what customer service looks like: Discover card will send a replacement OVERNIGHT. No long message system to wade through to speak to a representative either.

I really wish your customer service was better.

I have these four accounts through synchrony bank, and have been paying on time since opening these accounts. I have even recently paid the guitar center card off, only to find that they have reduced my credit limit on every one of my cards, sometimes bringing it down to the remaining balance, effectively leaving me with no available credit on these accounts. I am not delinquent on any of these accounts and often make more than the minimum payment on these accounts. It is now reflecting on my credit and my score has been steadily dropping. I have good credit that has now dropped to the fair category because of my rapidly declining credit limits, which then increases my overall credit usage. I cannot find a contact number to speak to anyone in person over this either.

Synchrony Bank Stop sending stamens for months, caused fees and interest when my count was almost paid off.

Synchrony Bank stopped sending account statements a few months before Feb. 2020. By not have a statement, I was unaware of the promotion expiring. I was making payments thinking my account was in good standing. However, I receive a statement in July 2020 for the first time in months. This was when I became aware that my account was not in good standing. I had been making a $50 a payment each month. My balance went from $300 to over $1000. A statement would have alerted me to pay that balance off before the promotion ended. Although they acknowledge not sending statements, they refused to correct the situation. They also reported me to the credit bureau without giving notice or an opportunity to get the account paid. I have two accounts with this company, Hank's and Furniture row. I have received statements on Furniture row but not the Hanks account. I receive an email as well as a paper statement with this account. I think that someone within the bank purposely stopped my statements. I had always paid promotions off before they expired.
Had I received a statement, I would have done so again. My account set up to pay automatically through my bank. I should have been notified that my account was not in good standing. Instead, they allowed interest and late fees to accrue for over five months without any notification. They allowed me to make late fee payment and never called, sent an email, or an e-statement to notify me of what was happening with that account. If you look at my credit history, you will find that I pay my bills on time. This is the first time I have ever had anything against me on my credit. I did not know that the account was not in good standing. They also told me that I could not file a dispute with the bank for not sending statements to me. I think they should wave those fees and interest because they did not send out a statement for months nor did they give me a proper notice that my account was in good standing before they sent my account to the collection and reported to the credit bureau.

Synchrony Bank Closing my account that has be paid in full for every that was never late this had a effect on my credit score.

I received a letter today say my account has been close due to many revolving account. None of which have every been late. This crazy you got a person that can pay during the pandemic and they close your account. This second time company that try this with me and I won and got my account back. This is poor customer service to it highest. You guys have some many complaints that it un real. You company needs to make this right. Bad customer service.

This just happen to me this weekend July 25, 2020. They closed six of my accounts where I paid on time paid before the due date and paid double the amount that was due. If they are looking at these complaints please look up me James Conway Jr.

Synchrony Bank Paypal collection procedures

The harassing collection robo calls are so old school. The calls start one day after due date. They are continuous, non-stop and annoying, until you turn off the answering machine. They don't even wait for their mail to arrive. When you pickup, its a recording. These annoying calls will not make the payments get to them quicker. Only cause a person to file a complaint. Other decent companies are more considerate during the pandemic.

Synchrony Bank Closed my accounts during pandemic for no good reason

I had credit cards with Sweetwater, Mattress Firm and Amazon. They closed both and left my Amazon card alone and said they had the right to do it at anytime and referred to my credit report which was over 600. They also revoked online access to my credits cards to make further payments using the Synchrony app as well the mobile website. I called customer support and they told me since the accts are closed I could no longer access them online and that I would have to make phone payments from now on. I immediately asked to talk to a supervisor who then told me the person I spoke to before was not completely correct and that I could still access my acct from my web browser on my computer but no longer mobile. I've been responsible with all my accts with them for years and made all my payments on time. Closing those accts caused a negative impact on my credit. I will never be using Synchrony in the future.

Synchrony Bank Canceling of a credit card during a pandemic

I have been a customer of Chevron for over 10 + years. My parents and family for close to 40. I had three payments returned do to the fact that I can not stop overdraft payments due to bank of America not being open. It can not be done online.

I owe less than $700. I am a teacher who if not for my gas card would not have been able to get to work rarely, but it saved me.

Your company sent me an email on April 24th, 2020 reminding me to pay. I thought I had my direct deposit from my district coming and the $1200, but the district had to move the date of payment and I still have not received $1200. I lost two of my teaching tutoring jobs and we are getting through a lockdown and pandemic.

Then I receive your form letter dumping another customer. I was shocked in. your methods and tact. You did this to me with my Home depot and lowes card without notice those times. I had those accounts for more than 10 years too. What is wrong with your company. You lose customers for businesses than help. Shameful.

To top your banking humiliation, I received that cancel the letter of my advantage member card on April 30th, 2020, BUT it was dated April 20th, 2020. That was four days prior to your nice little email to remind me to pay the bill on time.

What is wrong with this, it is called wanting to be paid, not losing customers.

Synchrony Bank Multiple credit cards

Over the period of the last couple of months, synchrony bank has systematically closed down every single card I have with them. Mind you I have years of excellent credit history, never a late payment, ever. I keep my credit utilization very low - under 8%. My last fico score was 813. I'm fully employed, own my home. This is absolutely insanity. They will give me no explanation only to say they have sent me a letter explaining. It's pure bs. I will never do business or apply for another card that they service. I pray ge retail services - (who they really are, with a name change 5 years ago) gets sued and goes bankrupt. During this scam of covid -19 they close accounts most needed-sam's club, care credit, amazon, for things we need.

Synchrony Bank Unauthorized Change to My Account Preferences

I signed up to get the Amazon Prime store card to earn the 5% back in January 2020. I received my first paper bill and paid the amount in full on 1/29/2020. Time went by and I got busy and next thing I know I'm getting notifications that I'm late on my payment for the next billing cycle. Wait a minute. I never received my paper bill like I did last time. I call today to get this worked out and tell them I didn't receive the bill in the mail. They tell me that I signed up for electronic billing. This is a total lie. I never registered my card on their website. I only added them on my online banking center and paid through my bank without choosing e-bills. So, who gave them the authority to change my billing preferences? I was on the phone for one hour with them. First, I did get them to reverse the late fee, but they wouldn't reverse the interest even though it was their fault. They completely denied they had anything to do with it until I inquired about the details I stated above. She just responded rote what she was trained to say, so I told her to tell me what I owed and I was canceling my card. She sent through the payment, then reversed the interest finally, and then asked if there was anything else I needed. I said, "Yes, I want to cancel my card." She asked why. I told her it was because they made an unauthorized change to my account and that she was incredibly difficult to work with. So, the issue was solved, but I will never do business with them ever again. However, I now have to call them back to request a paper statement to make sure they didn't make any fraudulent charges before canceling my card.
