Takes a hard line NO Customer Service It will be Your fault

My original Maui Jim sunglasses had a subtle mirrored effect. I originally picked a brown 15 colored lens to replace my scratched lens. When I was ordering my new lenses a man, (who turned out to be the owners son), suggested I mirror them in gold. I thought because my original lens had this subtle mirrored effect that I needed to add the gold. I expected them to come back similar to the originals. My glasses came with a Hollywood bright mirror reflection, nothing like the originals. I was told they would fix them if I paid them 50% more and sent them back (I was told 50% is their cost) and I was lectured by the owner of the company who insisted that I should have known by viewing the little circles of color on the Tajima web page, that I should have known better. I must say I know nothing about how lenses are made or colored. I took the suggestion because I thought they were trying match my original pair that I sent them and that I had ordered incorrectly. I thought the gold was necessary to add to the lens to make the subtle mirrored effect like the original Maui Jims. It was a misunderstanding. I asked the owner several times to take half the cost to send them back and correct the problem, but he insisted I pay the entire cost even though the gold mirroring was his company's idea not necessary. They are telling me this all my fault when I took their suggestion. They knew that their mirrored finish was nothing like on the original Maui Jim lenses and they should have told me, but they did not. Now I am supposed to pay again. He said his margin was 50% But there is a website that advertises them 50% off. If his cost is really 50% I guess he was giving them away free on Pay Few on thanksgiving day? He also made a big deal about his son attending Stanford as though it had anything to do with customer service? Am I supposed to be wrong because his son is a Stanford graduate? I want a bigger discount I doubt his cost is 50% I did ask him to show me the numbers The glasses look like a clown should wear them.

Desired outcome: I want a pair of glasses that are not a bright mirror gold. The company claimed their cost was 50% but I am not interested in their profit margins

Poor experience with Tajima. Right lens was fine left lens misshaped and woukd not fitin myMaui Jim sunglasses. Asked for a replacement Jacob the CEO insisted I send everything including my sunglasses to him and would not send a replacement kens. Terrible customer service. I ended up adjusting the poorly made lens with a dremel tool and got it to fit. I eill never use them again and sll others beware. Crappy customer service.

Did they offer to cover shipping at least if you sent it back to them? If so, I don't see a problem because they probably didn't want to cut the same lens again from whatever template they have and have the same problem again. So sending in the sunglasses would have allowed them to ensure the fit is perfect.

I do have to wonder why you would post months later Insm just trying to warn people. In yiur case please use them and then you will see. They are arrogant and unhelpful when they screw up. But please by all means use them doubting thomas
