I gotta say, TECHINBASKET (PRO) is highly irresponsible and unreliable seller. Even though they claim to guarantee their products for a year, they rejected my request for a direct replacement or refund. I had to write several complaints to get their attention and they finally agreed to replace the phone. But they cheated me by sending the phone for repair instead of replacing it. Warning: Terrible Experience with TechInTheBasket Camera Purchase & Delivery
So I recently ordered a Nikon camera from TechInTheBasket and boy was it a doozy! The company is supposedly based in Hong Kong but they have a London address of convenience. I paid for my purchase using PayPal but the TechInTheBasket / Digitalab Services Company / Shui Kin Bally Butt decided to put some extra charges on top of my payment. You wouldn't believe the trouble I had to go through to try and reclaim those charges from PayPal!
But wait, it gets better! TechInTheBasket provided me with a tracking number from DPD courier service and promised me 3-6 working days delivery. Cool cool, I thought. I even elected to have the parcel delivered on a specific day, that being the Wednesday after the promised delivery date. I waited in all day for the parcel to arrive, but nothing showed up. Upon further inquiry, DPD had not even received the parcel from TechInTheBasket! Like, seriously? All I got in response was that TechInTheBasket had taken two weeks holiday and that their "Working Days" are apparently just a suggestion.
TechInTheBasket has not one, but two "Helpline" numbers, but don't waste your time ringing them because no one's answering! There's not even an option to leave a message! What kind of customer service is that?
I had no faith in their claims of decent after sales service or extended warranty so I just cancelled my order before they could even mess things up further. My advice to anyone thinking of buying from this company is to steer clear! Don't be tempted by the lower prices, spend a little more and get the genuine article from a more reputable company. And when the phone arrived, it was exactly within the one hour time slot quoted, and that was with just the standard free delivery option. When I opened the brand new Samsung factory sealed box, I was even more impressed to see additional seller seals attached - talk about extra care and attention to detail!
To top it all off, a UK adapter was sent by the seller, although it turned out to be unnecessary as the official Samsung adapter inside the box was already the UK plug type. Setting up the phone was a breeze, as UK English was automatically highlighted in the selection window.

techinthebasket.com was such a big disappointment! I was trying to order a MacBook Air as a gift for my mom, and I really thought that this site would be a good choice because of the promise of faster delivery. I ordered on December 23, 2021 with paid for express shipping but, to my dismay, it arrived late! Despite TiB telling me that it would only take 4 to 6 days for my order to be delivered, the courier (DPD) attempted delivery on December 24th when nobody was there, resulting in it being retained by DPD. So, I felt so upset because I had an expired device in my mom’s hands, and I had no idea when the TiB would be able to sort out the delivery.
I have exchanged over 40 emails with TiB since then, trying to get this device delivery done, but every time the response is the same, “we are waiting for the machine to be returned from DPD.” TiB helpline staff are, in a word, useless! They refuse to give me any contact details for who I should discuss this with, except that someone is working on it. The communication that I received was generic and non-specific, with no hint of even when I can expect to receive delivery or any refund.
After eight weeks of waiting, I still had no new information. TiB had taken my money and my device, and I had no dependable information from them about what was happening with it! But thanks to Paypal, they were able to refund my money as TiB showed no intention of resolving my issue.

In August of 2019, I purchased a phone from TechInTheBasket for ?240. At first, everything seemed fine. However, six months later, I noticed that there was a diagonal pixel line across all of my close-distance photos. I immediately contacted TechInTheBasket to address this issue and the next three months were filled with constant correspondence between us.
Their website states that they provide after-sales service for at least 12 months and up to 6 years, and they issue prepaid postage labels for repairs. They even claim that they will replace or refund the item if it cannot be repaired. But, in reality, this statement is all lies. Despite my multiple requests for a prepaid postage label, they claimed to have experienced technical issues and were unable to provide one. So, I had to pay for postage to send my phone in for repairs.
I corresponded with TechInTheBasket daily for a month, hoping that they could repair my phone. At the end of this period, they refunded me ?4.50 for the transaction of the purchase. Essentially, I ended up paying a total of ?235.50 for the phone instead of the original price of ?240. After keeping my phone for five weeks, they returned it to me without acknowledging the fault, and I had to ask them to identify any problem during the repairs.
Despite my attempts to obtain more information from TechInTheBasket, they ignored all of my questions about their contacts, company registration, and finance department. Additionally, they even sent me a fake invoice that only had a picture of their company's logo on it, rather than any actual details.
Eleven months after my initial purchase, they finally admitted that they wouldn't repair my phone any longer because my warranty had expired. However, I had to remind them that the warranty was still valid before they agreed to move forward with repairs.
All in all, I wasted a considerable amount of time with TechInTheBasket when I could have simply filed a claim with Paypal. I would advise anyone to avoid this store. While you may be okay with them for the first six months, after that period, good luck with getting any form of assistance from them. Beware!
TechInTheBasket Shipped a Faulty Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus - Beware of their Products!
I ordered a Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus G9750 8GB Ram 128GB Rom Dual Sim - Prism Silver on the 30th of July from TechInTheBasket. Although their website said delivery would take 6-8 days, my product arrived on the 12th of August. When I received the phone, it was covered in film protectors, which led me to believe the phone was brand new. However, there was a scratch on the right side edge of the front panel. At first, I thought it was just a scratch on the screen protector. Upon closer inspection, I realized the scratch was underneath the screen protector, which they cleverly hid with a new one on top. I contacted their customer service team and sent them pictures and videos of the scratch. Unfortunately, they completely ignored the fact that they had sent me a faulty device and insisted that I made the scratch myself. I find it hard to believe that I could scratch the screen underneath the screen protector, given that the phone already came with one, and it had no such scratches. They offered no further assistance and said I should have it repaired myself.
It is unacceptable that they shipped a faulty product to me and refused to take responsibility for it. I advise anyone who wants to buy from TechInTheBasket to be aware that they may receive a product with some fault or damage, major or minor. If you are lucky, you won't notice it. Unfortunately, in my case, the scratch on the screen was visible, and the only way to fix it is to replace the screen, which will cost ?239. This is nearly half the amount I paid for the phone.
I recommend that people choose an authorized dealer instead of TechInTheBasket to avoid making the same mistake I did.

After eight days, I finally received my phone but the problems didn't stop there. The phone did not support 4G, it only worked on LTE and 3G. I tried resetting the phone, but it still would not pick up 4G. The phone came with a 3-pin adaptor for use in the UK, which was a plus but the battery life was shockingly bad. I even questioned if the phone was new, but I was informed it was. So, I requested a return and was provided with an email detailing where to send the phone. The address was based in the UK, so I sent it back using DPD.
Unfortunately, I had to pay ?40.00 for postage which included ?30.00 to cover for insurance. TechInTheBasket eventually refunded my money for the phone but did not compensate me for my postage costs. I was out of pocket but at least I learnt a valuable lesson.
