We hired Ted Doupe the owner operator of Ted's Tree Service (as a standard safety procedure I I had him sign a simple contract prior to stepping on our property). The project was straight forward. He was to trim up low hanging and thin crossing branches from one tree in our frontyard.
That first energetic visit he worked 5hrs and promised to finish the following day. Next two days came and went. During this ordeal he consistently showed up (groggy or under the weather and lacking his previous energy) at 1-3pm in the afternoon and was often on the phone then would leave without a reason by 4:30 with a day or two before I would have to call to get him back to finish what he started. An alarming note was when he wanted to drop a large branch and I pointed out that the arc while dropping would cause the branch he was removing to come dangerously close if not hit our car garage. I He dismissed my concerns so I repeated them. I said he needed to trim more of the branch first. He said it was fine and besides it was easier to cut up on the ground. Guess what? Yeah, he hit the garage and totalled it. He promised to fix/repair damages and haul away materials.
Last straw: after several demands for cash or partial payment (contract was payment of $50 down and $500 upon completion) AND then he brought his girlfriend who kept [censored]ing at him to abandon this job while smoking something in his van.
He took his tools and screamed obscenities as he left our driveway.
On day one he dropped several huge branches on our neighbors property he promised to get that day. I had to borrow a chainsaw and go clear up his mess. Three weeks instead of two days, the Job less than half done, out $200 for totalled portable garage =
DO NOT USE Ted's Tree Service of the Central Coast!
This is a mystery to me, I am at a loss as to who or why this person is stating these things. I did, however check his profile, "nipomoman", I believe it is, what's odd is that he has issued 2 complaints, one against me and the other against an autobody shop. Interestingly, they too are completely unaware of any wrongdoing. Not sure what this is ab out, but I am looking into this currently.
Please know, that I greatly value each and every customer I have, and they will gladly tell you, I work very hard, am very kind, and a decent human being. To the person who posted this. I ask that you please stop. I Support a family and my customers allow that to happen. If I wronged you, please contact me so we can resolve it, no hard feelings, I dont hold grudges. Any prospective customers, PLEASE, ask for references, I will provide you with 2 or even 3 dozen happy and satisfied clients as references, my neighbors, even my ex wife. Yes, you can talk to my ex wife! I ask that you would check my character and work ethic by that list, then. Compare it to the complaint registered on this forum and see which version adds up. Thank you. I apologize for the drama and look forward to serving you when the time comes.
I have included some before and after photos, the first two are of a tree pruning, the second was a 65 foot tree removal from a backyard with large branches hanging over the garage. As you can see, the job was completed without incident and the customer was very happy.
I would like to add one more detail. Looking at the other, "complaint" this individual made again again last an autobody shop with 24 hours of making a complaint against me, he uses the same template with him as he does with me. Very weird. He alleges that the owner of that company yelled obscenities at him, etc. Just very strange. Thought I would add that and I encourage you to look at that complaint as well, it's as if he created a generic template to file multiple complaints for whatever reason. I just wish it would stop
