Telehealth visit
Hello - I had a telehealth visit on 12/18 and was prescribed an inhaler and cough medicine I really needed. As of 12/20 I still don't have the medications despite your company insisting you've called it into my pharmacy twice. The pharmacy says they have nothing for me. Noone answers your call line ever (goes straight to voice mail after a long hold period) and you can't get a quick response from anyone online.
Desired outcome: I need my medicine called into my pharmacy today.
Doctor visit telehealth
I used teledoc once before and I was charged even after explaining my insurance pays 100%. They stated I couldn't see a doctor till I paid $55. I went ahead and paid it due to the necessity of the visit. I called my insurance company later that week when they were open to let them know. They told me that they also paid teledoc and that I should get a refund from them. When I contacted teledoc billing they told me that my insurance never paid they only received money from me. I called my insurance company back to then do a three-way call. While I was quiet on the line they told my insurance that I never paid they only received one payment, that's when I spoke up stated I had my receipt and the previous rep stated that I was the only one who paid and not the insurance and the stories did not match. Now this is happening a second time. Ive paid again even after they knew insurance would pay. I spoke to my insurance and now they have also been charged. This company is charging both the patient and insurance companies full amounts and keeping the overcharges. This service was to help people in need like myself. My condition prevents me from leaving the house a lot and teleheath gives me the chance to see a doctor. However when using the services I get taken advantage of. Not only that, but after you have paid, they schedule you with a doctor outside of your state and they are unable to assist you. Both times I was told I needed to see someone from my home state in order to prescribe or assist me. What was the point in making the schedule or paying them if within 3 min im being told they can't help.
Desired outcome: the company need to refund customers and be fined for each occurance.
Scam. Ripoff. Don't even think about it
Straight to the point. They literally took 16 hours to call me. Some lady Dr stated " we couldn't connect to you on the live video stream and wondering if you could get on right now".
So I said it will take maybe 2 or 3 minutes because I am now sleeping and need to get somewhat dressed because I waited all night and had to go-to sleep. The lady Dr told me " well sorry but I'm going to cancel your appointment now and you will have to reschedule it".
This lady couldn't wait 3 minutes for me to put on some pajamas so I can do the little video thingy? My god! I waited 16 hours from 5pm mon to the next day teusday at 9am just to have this entitled privileged high paid lady Dr abuse me!
I never ever dealt with such unprofessional, sorry, disrespectful people in health care.
This is a straight up scam of a company in my opinion and any health agency that is pushing there customers to use this needs to stop pushing this service and cancel the contract they have with Teladoc immediately..
I'm still shook and baffled at just how horrible this whole thing went down..
Desired outcome: I want the entire health care system to recognize that the Teladoc service is a failed, complete and utter scam and then to banish them from any and all health provider and insurance agencies.
Teledoc visit
Deborah's General Medical Phone visit with Asha Rao
11/5/22
I had a teladoc visit that was canceled because my phone had blocked the call. Called and spoke to a representative and informed them I had a UTI. They knew my age because I told them. Had a teladoc call where I was informed that because of my age they couldn't help me and I needed to go to a doctor. I immediately called customer service and told them I wanted my money back. I have never heard from the customer service and billing office. I am not paying for them to tell me I am too old to get an antibiotic on line when you knew my age and why I was calling.
Teledoc visit
Had dr. Daniel DiSardo not help me today for a sinus/sore throat low grade fever. I contracted what my son had and received treatment of antibiotic for through an actual urgent care. However this doctor was annoyed with me, over talked me, interrupted me and ultimately hung up on me while i was still talking. I tried to file a complaint and see about seeing another doctor but was told i would be charged again. They couldn't even locate what doctor i saw when i called back. I had to research myself and see since they had no records. No refunds are issued so basically if you get a doctor that is having a bad day or doesn't feel like writing an rx then you just wasted a copayment. Very disappointed should have went to my actual PCP rather than try this that they push. Now i will have to cancel meetings to try to get help since this was a waste of time
Desired outcome: refund
Told they were not able to provide assistance due to policy.
I really should have read reviews before trying Teladoc, but coming from my insurances website it didn't cross my mind. It does now seem somewhat of a scam after reading posts. I was setup with a phone appointment, and they promptly called within about 15min. I explained my situation for about a minute and the doctor replied that there was nothing he could do per Teladoc policy. He explained I would need to visit my PCP or Urgent care. The whole conversation was less than 2 minutes with the bulk of it explaining I needed to go elsewhere as Teladoc wasn't able to help.
I did message them seeing if a refund could be issued because no help was provided except telling me to go to urgent care or my PCP with the issue. The reply received said they were unable to refund my money as per policy. There was a notation saying that doctor may not be able to provide assistance with certain things which was in their policy. After reading some of the complaints it seems this is common practice for them. Lure someone in thinking they can get convenient diagnosis and prescription and then just say it's policy, we can't help go to urgent care/PCP. $49 for 2 minutes is close to $1500 an hour for services not provided. A complete rip off and scam if you ask me.
Desired outcome: A refund would be nice, but I think they probably need to be investigated. I don't think this company is on the up and up for the most part.
Telehealth
I've seen the same provider numerous times. Each time the bill went directly to insurance. On my last visit teladoc suddenly charged my card and claimed it was due to an "insurance provider outage". My insurance company DID NOT confirm this to be the case and does not know what Teladoc is talking about. Furthermore it took me almost 2 hours and speaking to no less than FIVE of Teladoc's misinformed and unhelpful employees to even get that scant level of detail. I am asking my insurance company to find another telehealth provider. Teladoc is horrible.
Scam
Spoke to a doctor who was suppose to provide me with a work note and never did. When I call customer service I was advised that the doctor forgot to issue work notice and I would have to speak to another doctor. I advice her that if I do my insurance will be charged again she said I don’t know what to tell you. This is a complete scam and I am planning to call my insurance to inform them and file a complaint with BBB.
Do not use them/
Doctor would not help because he said pictures had to be provided in advance.
My daughter sat on the phone and went through several cycles to get our credit card processed. She finally received a doctor and was told that he couldn't help her because she didn't have pictures. She offered to provide pictures, but he said it was "too late." He sent her a recommendation to see her primary care physician. I will not pay for this service. I plan to fight this with my credit card company. What a waste of valuable time. We have used Teledoc in the past and were allowed to send the photos. This is our last time using this service.
Desired outcome: Refund my $20 copay and tell the doctor to do his job.
Mental health doctor
I am the parent of an adult child that is using the mental health services through Teledoc. I have been on leave to care for her this summer her appointment was today to follow up and have my paperwork signed to return to work. Doctor refuses to sign he referred he to the doctor that issues her meds however this isn’t the doctor who administered the leave. I emailed him and no response. My concern is if this new doctor is not willing to sign I cannot return to work.
Never called in the Rx and I sat here for over 2.5 hours waiting and unable to reach a live human being at Teledoc
I had an appointment with Dr. Giancarlo Dimassa for a sinus infection. He said he would call in Rx to a local pharmacy. Waited an hour+. Went to pharmacy. No Rx. Tried to contact someone at Teledoc, but got a voicemail after listening to several nonapplicable messages about COVID testing. Left a message as requested by Teledoc voicemail. Nothing. Called pharmacy after 2+ hours and no Rx. Left a message in the Teledoc app only to be told it might be 48 hours before they'd respond. I'm on vacation and won't even be near the requetsed pharmacy in 48 hours. Called Teledoc again. The automated system put me through to voicemail, again. Called Teledoc and this time tried a different number, trying to speak to a live human being. Got a person who transferred me to someone who did nothing to help me, other than send a message to the nurse. The nurse? I didn't see a nurse. Why not send the message to the doctor who saw me and say where is this woman's Rx? So frustrated. This is the worst experience with Teledoc I've ever had. This can't be how you treat patients. I'm sick, don't feel well, and now I'm stuck waiting for what? I don't even know. This is horrible patient care.
Desired outcome: I know you won't fix this because i see there are over 100 other complaints that were not resolved. Sadly.
Visit on 8/26/22 for severe sinus infection
I spoke with Daniel Kessler DO. He barely let me speak. He asked me a few questions, the key being did I have a fever and the answer was no. Then continued to interrupt me when I tried to speak. He then went on to tell me that antibiotics are not necessary for a sinus infection. I beg to differ. As a nurse practitioner with ER and outpatient experience, that is false, they are necessary sometimes. And then he hung up on me. Surely less than a 5 minute call. What's wrong with health care people these days? I will never use teledoc ever again. First and last time.
Desired outcome: Refund please. This was an absolutely ridiculous "health" care.
Antibiotics are NOT in fact indicated for Acute Sinusitis as the vast majority of cases cases are viral and resolve without intervention within 10 days. At that point antibiotics may be a consideration. Ever heard of keeping up your continuing Ed? Antibiotic stewardship? Current guidelines for acute sinusitis are published in multiple places, including Pub Med, Up to Date, and Epocrates. Maybe you should read first, and whine later, if at all.
Not receiving care but charged
on 8/9 I used Tela Doc to seek treatment for my son who was coughing and throwing up. We had a dr call but instantly told me that I need to seek emergency care. We only spoke for roughly 2 mins. I asked the company for a refund but was denied. I would be happy to have paid if we spoke more about symptoms but we didn't. I have reviewed in the faq about payments, services and about us regarding their status of a refund. It doesn’t mentioned anywhere that any connected call
Desired outcome: refund of $35 for visit
Psychiatrist visit
On June 4th 2022 I had a teladoc visit with a psychiatrist through their app. With my health insurance (which is on file and this was not my first time using Teladoc) the charge for my visit should have been $0. The next day I had a charge on my card for $200. I contacted Teladoc and they told me to just "wait a month and if it's not back on my card, call again". It is now August 12th, 2022. I have called every single week since then and still, they refuse to refund me even though they have confirmed that I should not have been charged. I literally am having to contact a lawyer just to get my $200 back from a company that is worth millions.
Desired outcome: My money back
Service promised nit provided
I recently moved states. It is taking 3 months to see a pcp. I am having bad side effects and need to change one of my medications. I try to use the teladoc app but my insurance provider is not listed. It shows a number to call. I call ask if they take my insurance. Told yes. Then explain I need to change one of my medications. The agent says our doctors can do that. The visit will cost 45. I thought that was strange because my co pay is 20. She takes my payment and says a doctor will call me shortly. 5 minutes later I get an email from teladoc saying my appointment is canceled because I could not be reached. The phone was in my hand. So I set up another appointment. I tell the doctor what's going on and she tells me she can not write a new prescription or change dosage of an old one just refill them. She suggests I go to the er or urgent care.
I call teladoc and ask for a refund. I explained what happened. They declined the refund. Tell me that the doctor can write new prescriptions is their policy. I told them my doctor said she could not. They again site policy. So either the doctor or the agents at teladoc are lying. I called my insurance and no claim was filed. I go took up the doctor but my account has been deactivated
Desired outcome: I would like a refung
Scam
My son has autism, sleep apnea, diabetes and hypertension. I took a Covid test and took a picture of the results. This was day 3 for him with coughing. On day 2 he developed a fever. Took a Covid test, he is positive. Called Teleadoc. Shared all of the above info only to told that they can’t prescribe the medication for treatment of Covid. The the doc told me to take vitamins and contact my son’s health care provider. Thanks for nothing.
Mental Health Appointments
We've had nothing but trouble trying to get an appointment with two of your providers. Twice with two different providers, we received a text saying that we weren't able to get an appointment. The third time we tried and it was with Lorraine Kraine, we had been constantly checking for a message from Teladoc. It took us 3 days of constantly running to the phone to see if who it was and after 3 days, just one hour before the first date to have a video visit thats when we got the notification that none of the days would work for Lorraine.
This system of texting us instead of giving us a call on our home phone is really
very very very frustrating. Imagine waiting 3 days constantly checking for a text message every time a notification comes in and imagine waiting 3 days before we could find out it was a "no go" so that we wouldn't be able to try to find another therapist!
I really wish there was some place online that I could let people know about what happened to us!
Desired outcome: I will try and find a way to let the public know what could happen to them using Teladoc, I'm so frustrated!
I, too, have had problems scheduling an appointment with a therapist. I have tried to schedule sessions with at least four different therapists and I always get a message declining my requests with no specific reason. I did have one session but I wanted to try a different therapist but every time I go online that particular therapist's name keeps popping up on my screen. I also declined to answer a survey from Teladoc twice because I had only one 50 minute session and I felt that I did not have enough time to rate my experience with Teladoc.

Customer service
We (the United Way of Central Virginia are trying to add an employee to our plan. Our username is accepted, but our password is not being accepted.
When we try to reset the password we go in a never ending loop.
We have called customer service to no avail. We have left messages with Health Sales phone number [protected] with no call back and the Client Services number [protected] with no call. We need an individual to manually intervene to reset the password for us or call us. Plus we need to know who are representative is?
A name, phone number and email address would be helpful.

Teledoc Visit - Dr. Lapollo - Knoxville, TN
On 7/8/22, Dr. Lapollo failed to show for our scheduled Teledoc appointment without notice after months of visits. The office contacted me stating it was a scheduling mistake. They offered a new appointment time on 7/11, however, I was vacationing with family and friends in the mountains that week (which the dr. already knew about). Since then, I have been trying relentlessly to schedule appointments with this dr. since he also manages my medication and don't want a lapse in treatment. The office cancels any request for appointment through the Teledoc scheduling site, but suggests that I join the private practice and pay a $300 new patient fee and $100 cash per visit fee, since insurance isn't accepted at his practice. I've been his patient already, why the new patient fee? It cant be ethical to deny patients access through Teledoc and force them to a private practice with higher costs.
Desired outcome: Kick this doctor off of Teledoc if he refuses to make and/or keep appointments. It seems unethical to cancel Teledoc appointments and force patients into a private practice with higher costs.
Charged for the service even though my insurance pays for it
Used the service on June 24, 2022. There is no payment required on my part for the service, yet I had to pay $55 before they would let me proceed with the physician consult. Multiple calls to Teladoc and my insurance company have led to no resolution. I call the Claims Department and was on hold for more than five minutes. No way ever picked up for me to try and resolve this matter.
Desired outcome: I would like my money back.
