Dr. Pemmaraju prescribed antibiotic in same class as listed allergy
I had a call in the early am this morning around 5:00 am. My symptoms indicated that I am suffering from conjunctivitis, and Dr. Pemmaraju sent in a prescription for me that is in the same class as one listed in my allergies, and the pharmacist will not issue me the prescription. The pharmacist has been training for hours, I have been trying for hours to get this corrected. I even set up a new call to start over and a new doctor would not help. She stated we have to wait for a reply from Dr. Pemmaraju and could take until tomorrow.
Conjunctivitis is very contagious and painful. We are doing our best not to spread it to my husband and 7-month-old infant and teladoc is doing nothing to assist. This service is completely unsatisfiable, I do not plan to ever use it again and I will not recommend it to anyone.
The Doctor says his name is Daniel Kessler
I spoke to this so-called doctor for about less than 5 minutes, symptoms were a really bad sore throat, headache and back of neck hurt and when I did cough it was rare and I would cough up some dark mucus, I also informed him that I had gone the previous day and done a covid test because of course I knew that would be the 1st thing asked. I told him I get this every year and just need some antibiotics; omg you would have thought I had asked him for every controlled substance out there. He preceded to explained to me that I did not need any antibiotics that he had been a doctor for 25 years and that was that. Well, if you asked me, he was the biggest [censored] I have ever spoken to that has ever claimed to be a doctor maybe a disbarred doctor. He tells me he is ordering me meds for my symptoms. When I looked up what he ordered me it was 800 mg of ibuprofen (what for the headaches), ha and next montelukast 10 mg this is for asthma, wheezing and shortness of breath (which I did not have), and last but not least benzonatate, which is used for coughs caused by the common cold or pneumonia, bronchitis, emphysema or asthma, which I had none of these symtoms. I called back because mr. Big, i've been a doctor for 25 years did not like me telling him I did not appreciate his attitude and for $75.00 dollars I could have gone to any walk in clinic we have here and I would have received thoses dreaded antibiotics. I would never nor will I ever call teladoc (sob's) ever in life. I was asked when I called back there to speak to someone about this doctor, and the lady I must say was a very lovely lady to speak to wanted to know if I would like to speak to another doctor that she could set it up for me (well I almost fell for it) yes, I could speak to another doctor, for another $75.00, thanks but really no thanks.

I just had a 3 minute phone call with him before he yelled and hung up on me and I think he set a record for the most condescending things said in 3 minutes! This guy needs to be fired.
Teledoc billing
Dishonest - Pregnant wife made appointment. Made it known she was pregnant (there's a checkbox to select). System still scheduled appointment (took our money). Then Dr said he can't do much over the phone because she's pregnant. Seems like it would be a good idea to notify patients when they select "pregnant", that there's a good chance the Dr will be unable to do much in the way of prescribing medications over the phone due to risks. We called and asked for a refund but denied.
Desired outcome: Refund
Dr Excuse
I had an appointment with Dr. He said he would write me a work excuse for day I talked to him and the next day. I could not find excuse online so I called teladoc they said there is no way to contact the Dr and the Dr must have accidentally put in no for excuse. They said I could make another appointment and explain to Dr that called me but I would have to pay copay again. I think that of a message could be sent to the Dr he would say yes I remember discussing that with the patient I made a mistake and entered no and wrote my work excuse. I think it is ridiculous that is not an option.
Desired outcome: Work excuse
Teladoc
Tried 1 time and never will again. Couldn't verify my insurance so I was told if I paid cash then they would get me all the info to file for reimbursement with my insurance. Not true 8 hours of phone calls and can not get the needed info of procedure code and description because when you cash pay their system doesn't generate one. Eas told 15 to 30 minutes (hour max) to see Dr and 2 and a half hours later finally saw one. Dr prescribed warm compress and eye drops and when it didn't get better I had to see my Dr who said an oral antibiotic should have been prescribed. I filed complaint with better Business Bureau and they responded "call customer serv8ce". I explained I had already spent 7 or 8 hours doing that and they responded "call customer service ". I gave 8n and called and customer service said "sorry I see the notes where you've called before and there's nothing we can do".
Dishonest, unreliable, and not an effective cure.
Strep throat call
Called Teledoc for a Sore throat issue. Provided all symptoms of the strep throat and the doctor stated to go to the primary care physician. The Teledoc service is useless if every time you call with symptoms they have provided for the services and you are told to go to the primary care provider or urgent care. Stay away and go directly to the location where they will see you to avoid extra costs out of pocket! By the way, it was in fact a strep throat for the second time that Teledoc doctor was wrong.
No providers available
I have been using Teladoc services for several months, and within the last two months I've noticed a sharp decline in service. The wait times for callbacks have increased from 10 minutes to 2 hours... and in some cases much more than that. Teladoc Customer Service explains this increase as a natural result of COVID and natural disasters on the West Coast...

I had a teledoc appointment yesterday for a sinus infection... The doctor prescribed a drug that is off the market! I started calling them yesterday after receiving this info from my pharmacy and insurance company... Cannot get anyone on the phone who knows what they are doing... The last e-mail I got from them after calling 8 times in a row and being hung up on... That if I wanted to talk to them about it, I would have to schedule another virtual visit, pay them another co-pay.. No thank you! I called my credit card company and reversed the co-pay, called my insurance company and corporate benefits administration department... Do walk, run from these crooks!
Prescriptions
I had a Teladoc appointment via phone, the doctor prescribed a medication and had it sent to my pharmacy. Two days later I still did not have the medicine, so I called the pharmacy. They stated the medicine the doctor prescribe did not exist, and they tried to get in contact with the doctor for another medication recommendation. However the doctor would not call them back.
I have gone days without the medicine. I am wondering if this person is even a real doctor.
Desired outcome: Pending
Teledoc service
Doctor sent in aprescription. Pharmacy didn't receive it. Called Teledoc was told to have pharmacy check voicemail. Did this & still no prescription. Have called Teledoc several times. No one can tell me why pharmacy does not have my prescription. On hold for Teledoc pharmacy for over 1/2 hour. Several calls & Teledoc was useless - NO HELP
Desired outcome: Phone call from Teledoc telling me my prescription has been sent in & not lie about it.
Service/Fraud
I called to get a simple infection treated. The doctor called me and was simply short and rude from the beginning. I explained my symptoms and he literally said I don't have time for this, go somewhere else. I didn't speak for more than a minute or two and he refused to listen to me but instead talked over me, refused to treat the reason I called for and hung up on me. I had to pay for someone to berate me and refuse to do his job like a professional. I was charged $75 for negligence. Their "terms and conditions" are a scam and the doctor can put absolute BS into the "system" and they call it "complete". This has happened twice now. They refuse to treat anything even when it's so simple, are rude and rush you off the phone. Why did I just pay this much money for someone to tell me to go somewhere else. I'm so disgusted.
The doctor over talked me would not listen asked me stupid questions like which doctor prescribed this or that. Arrogant [censored]. I said are trying to treat me or not. I yelled at him again because he wouldn’t even answer that question. He downed me for not going to another walk in clinic. I will from now on. He could very speak English and pronounced medicines worse than I could.
In a great American history Drs listened. Since he wouldn’t I gave him an American send off [censored] You!
prescription issues
I used Teladoc services on 5/29/2021 for a tick bite. The Doctor I spoke to prescribed me an antibiotic and called it into my pharmacy, CVS. I was going out of town on 5/31/2021 and wanted to pick up the medication before I left. There was an issue and I received a call from my pharmacy the next day saying that I needed a refill on this prescription. It was for Doxycycline and that is not a medication I usually take so I'm not sure why I needed a refill on it. The pharmacy stated they reached out to the prescribing Doctor but couldn't reach him. I went out of town without getting my prescription hoping I could get it filled at a CVS where I was going. I called the pharmacy several times the week I was gone to find out they reached out to the doctor I spoke with several times but couldn't get a hold of him. I also tried calling your help line and never got through to anyone. I ended up making an appointment with my PCP when I got back into town and received the antibiotic that day. But I had to wait over a week to start my antibiotic and I paid $75 to talk to your Doctor plus a copay to see my PCP. The only reason I called Teladoc was because it was a Saturday and I was leaving town on Monday and couldn't get into my PCP over the weekend. The whole thing was so frustrating because the doctor couldn't be reached to fix the situation and I had to wait a week to get my antibiotic plus pay another copay for my PCP on top of paying $75 to see your doctor who basically did nothing for me.
Desired outcome: refund
Product and Service Delivery, Cancellations, Billing
I have had Teledoc for almost a year. I have made appointments and have been cancelled on twice at the very last minute. In one appointment, the doctor told me he could not help me at all and to talk to my primary doctor and they still charged. I feel that they should deliver the services that they say that they provide. I do not feel that it is professional to cancel and appointment on a client after the time of the appointment. I do not want to be charged or have my insurance get charged for appointments that they cancelled and did not deliver on.
Desired outcome: Refund for the one visit
Primary care fraud
When researching virtual physicians, Teledoc's website showed up with, "Our primary care physicians are licensed and experienced in family practice and internal medicine, and are specially trained to deliver high-quality virtual care. " as seen on their webpage: https://teladochealth.com/primary-care/ (which I did save a copy of this website)
However, when speaking with a doctor, he said we need to go local for care. Charged the $75 fee. This is NOT primary care, but substitute care... when calling, they give you a HUGE run around, "it depends on your plan". So I asked, "which plan do I need?" and she said, "oh uhm, well, you're safe pay. It would be in your insurance." So I opened a new browser to act as though as I as signing up, there's no request for insurance, nor is there a place which states you cannot get a primary care physician.
They speak in circles to try and confuse you, but I know double-talk. When I called her on it, all she could repeat was, "I apologize for the inconvenience", without ever directly answering my question.
BEWARE! DO NOT USE THEM! They also 'decide' if they will prescribe your meds. What are they good for? Well, taking money for sure. But not much else. Oh yes, the double-talk.
This website needs to be shut down for fraudulent advertising.
Desired outcome: Closing of their Company due to fraudulent practices
The Teladoc Registration Agreement that every Member agrees to when they register specifically states "Telemedicine can be used for diagnosing, treating, and prescribing medication, however cannot be used for emergency services or to replace your primary care physician and Teladoc does reserve the right to deny care for potential misuse of services." Teladoc Providers CANNOT be used as Primary Care Physicians. The Agreement nullifies anything the Member has received in the mail that says otherwise.
Chest infection due to Covid or flu
I get Tdoc a change yesterday. Covid 19 positive, all std issues, need antibiotic for chest infection coughing up infection. After a battery of questions by the Dr yesterday, they suggested I get a CT scan, MRI, and refused any furtyher help. First thing today, I called and filed a complaint. Then offered to give them a 2nd chance. They wanted to charge me $$, I said "no way", I doing you a favor by given a 2nd chance. Also I filed a full complaint against Dr #1. This AM Dr #2 called. Again I rate the service as "irresponsible, unprofessional conduct, shirk responsibility, unwilling to take obvious actions". Dr #2 was no better. I can't do anytyhign to help. You have to go get chest x-rays and many more treawtements. I asked point blank for a common antibiotic of the type we've used for 100 years to treat chest infection. It is a direct, std course that is used automatically then if there are other isssues, further tests can sort that out but you don't simply deny care when the decision tree is so very simple. Dr #1 gets a 1 rating on a 10 scale. Dr #2 gets a 1 rating on a 10 scale. Teledoc overall with process, care, performance, and quality gets a 1 on a 10 scale.
Desired outcome: The standard course of antibiotics and other meds should have been offered in seconds.
Overcharged invoice
I completed a questionnaire April 2, 2021 to schedule a mental health consult for April 5, 2021. The advertisement stated retail (no insurance) consults are $82. I received a confirmation number of the set appointment date and time. At the time of the visit, the doctor's consult was asking me the same questions on the questionnaire. Afterwards, I received notification that I had been charged $229. I called Customer Service and was told the case would be escalated. I then receive an email stating the pricing of the consult shows when you confirm an appointment (it did not). So I called back April 6, 2021 requesting a call from the Supervisor who I then again explained the situation and offered to send my confirmation email back to them showing that $229 was not listed. I am still being told that price for the consult is $229 and no one has the ability to request a partial refund or a bill credit.
Appointment System Problems
Hi, my name is Megan Allred, and I've been using your system since 2019. Since January I want to say, if not later than that, I've been struggling to get into contact with my psychiatrist. I would schedule an appointment with Dr. Medina and wait for him to respond, then the system would say that my doctor is not available for the appointment I'd selected. Then the system would say that the appointment time was cancelled and prompt me to select a new appointment time with a different provider. About a week or two later, I would receive a message from Teladoc stating that my provider had offered an alternative time, but because I did not respond to it, the system cancelled the appointment altogether. I have no other way to reach out to my doctor, especially since I'm having suicidal episodes because my medications aren't adjusted properly or working. I've been calling the suicide hot line, and have been forced to stop using Teladoc altogether and seek help from a psychiatrist I may never get to see until next year or several years from now. I've been forced to stop seeing Karissa Harris, my psychologist, who provides my CBT therapy, and now my psychiatrist, Dr. Edgar Medina, who's been trying to reach out to me but has had no success from Teladoc's computer system. I had called several times to attempt to resolve this issue, but the representative had stated the messages and the time system is not Central Standard Time, but Universal Time! I cannot change this! Back in February, I'd scheduled an appointment for February 6th, 2021, but the day of the appointment, the system said my provider would see me soon at the time agreed upon, 5PM. I called after waiting two hours and the representative said my appointment on her end had been set to the 5th of February of 2021, and I was labelled as a No Call, No Show! I never received the notification of the date my provider received compared to the date I received. I paid $100 in total to see Karissa Harris for two separate occasions and never saw her because of this error in the system. I've tried seeing my psychiatrist, but have had no resolution or as of now, any hope in getting help. Nobody knows what to do to resolve this, the third representative I spoke to helped me with my problem LIVE, but I still have had no success. He saw the time difference based on the User's side and the Admin's side and thought it was very strange. He had manually inputted the correct appointment time and date, sent an email to the Mental Health Department, and told me he had fixed it. I waited for two weeks, and today, received a notification that my provider offered an alternative appointment time for the 28th of March, but because I did not respond, which I was never prompted to by the system, the appointment was cancelled altogether by the Teladoc system. I don't see any hope, my provider, Dr. Medina is supposed to help keep my medications up to date, he's supposed to help keep the suicidal ideations from occurring, and I've already wasted about two hundred dollars from attempting to see two providers I cannot even reach.
I'm requesting someone to send my doctor an email or call him and inform him that I am having technical problems accessing my appointments because the admin's side is interpreting the user's date and time of appointment for a completely different date and time. I've been forced to see an alternative psychologist, who can hopefully help prevent these ideations and suicide attempts I'd been having throughout March. I've already attempted suicide three times in March because my medications have ceased to work, and my PCP cannot do anything about my medications, he cannot even adjust them because he never gave me the medications.
I contacted a representative tonight to request for help informing my doctor what's been happening and she stated she was not allowed to reach out to him and send him a message. She instead provided me the information to Teladoc's Mental Health Line, which has already failed me multiple times. I am sending you this email as documentation that I have reached out tonight, and your department should have an email from one of the representatives, and a complaint I had requested to put in through a previous representative for this SAME UNRESOLVED TECHNICAL PROBLEM!I have also left a one star rating on Google Play for the public to see, and I will be uninstalling the application to Teladoc from my phone.
If you send me a message stating you could not fix this problem, I see no reason to use your services and will have to find a new psychiatrist. I will also leave a review for my psychiatrist online with Google in hopes he will see I have tried to contact him using the platform your company provided.
Because Teladoc does not allow me to take pictures of the errors from my phone, or on the computer, I cannot upload any pictures to support my complaint. The system simply blocks it.
Desired outcome: I would like Teladoc to fix this and message my doctor so that he knows what's going on!!! An alternative way to contact my doctor!
Terrible customer service
It is very hard to get a good consult for mental health. The staff of teladoc are ignorant that social workers should not have access to medication history, since social workers are not doctors. Embarrassing questions are asked to get a mental health consult for talk therapy like are you pregnant and when was your last menstrual period. These are unnecessary. There is an optional box for the customer to uncheck to keep his medication records private, which is deceptive, because the portal has no privacy features. Social workers try to give medication advice and evaluation, which is unprofessional, since they have no authority to prescribe, nor do they have proper credentials to evaluate medications. Many service tickets were opened to improve the privacy issue with the zendesk rep deanna stating "it's not supposed to do that." and then ignore to not fix the issue.
Desired outcome: Fix the portal
Optional Box: Disclose of Medication and Provider Notes
The customer leaves the box UNCHECKED but the social worker still gets to read private info without the client's consent. This is deceptive practice and violates the PRIVACY POLICY of TELADOC.
Appointment
I talked to a "doctor" for less than 5 mins and I did most of the talking. I was extremely detailed in my symptoms and also explained how anxious I was over everything. He basically repeated exactly what I told him without giving any real medical advice, diagnosis or prescription. He then said a dermatologist would contact me in 1-2 days. After not receiving contact and being confused by the message report and appointment notes, I called and was informed I would have to pay and make another appointment. I explained how he did nothing medically for me and was extremely disappointed about receiving no resolve. The woman did not care and also informed me that teladoc does no give refunds. This place is a SCAM! I payed $75 for no resolve, no medical diagnosis and no help, only to be told to see another doctor. The doctor I saw was also misinformed by saying someone would contact me but neglecting to say I need to make an appointment with a new doctor. No one in customer service cared one bit about anything I explained to them.
Desired outcome: Refund
Phone appointment
The Doctor Prescribed a liquid medication that also has a pill form. The Pill form was covered by insurance and the liquid was not. In order to get another appointment on Teladoc we had to pay a fee when they are the ones who decided that a medication that was not covered as A okay. They can not get a hold of the doctor that made the prescription, which is completely negligent. This system is ridiculous. When the only change we would like to make is from liquid to pill.
Additionally they talk over you, they are rude, and they have very cares in the world if you are okay, oh and they hang up on you if they feel like they just don't have the time for you.
This company is a joke.
Desired outcome: I just want to change the prescription from liquid to pill.
