We contacted models uk to see what it involves to be a model. On Wednesday the 3rd one of their agents called us and said that my daughter looks perfect for modelling. They said they are running only few sessions this august and best thing for us to do is to get this in early so she doesn’t miss out. We were booked in on the 7th.

We came to london studio, hair and make up artist was ok did very little to my daughters hair and the photographer suggested her first outfit can be what she is wearing now and then we changed in to 3 more. It was all rushed. I would say photographer was good when it came to engaging my daughter.

Then it came to go in to that office to see the pictures. The lady said they took 87 pictures we probably looked at 10 and she was very quick to skim through them, she soon started telling my daughter how amazing she look, how much she could earn, that school will allow her to go and do her modelling during school hours all we need is a pass from the council. She really zoned in on selling it to my daughter asking her lots of questions basically manipulating the situation. She could see I wasn’t on board so she kept trying to turn my daughter against me, my daughter is 12 years old she started getting upset when I was saying we are not fully sure yet and we only came here to see if she is going to enjoy this kind of environment we did not come here to purchase anything, the saws lady kept saying yo my daughter ohh look you really want this, you are so upset, oh I want you to be happy, she then showed us price list and I straight away said no, we are not spending this, she then said look £500 package Is without your portfolio just photos or I could give you this special £850 package you will get your portfolio built which she will need for sending out to the agencies. She kept saying things like well mum look why you not on board, I explained that I know my daughter she thinks she wants this now but this is being glamorous at the moment it can be hard on young children and she dismissed my concerns and kept pushing this, in the end I was completely guilt tripped my daughter was upset I said ok and she soon rushed all plans and payments etc, we paid 200 and then pay 50 a month at the end she told me we would get the package once everything is paid off. And rushed us out of tue door.

We walked out of the studio got in the car and my daughter burst out crying, she said mum I am so sorry I think we got scammed, and I said to her I know I think we have. She said now I am out of there and not being pressured I can see. Please cancel it. I emailed the company an hour after being in studio. And told them we want to cancel and we will not be paying and I am happy to take legal action against them due to aggressive sales tactics being used and how they manipulated situation. Got an email back next day saying they will not cancel and that we need to pay what we agreed as this is a package that we signed up for and it is personalised. I have said to them that the goods have not been despatched or even been touched up yet so the company is not loosing anything and that I want to speak to senior management and see their complaint procedure and policies. It has been three days and I have not heard of anything from them. My daughter is in bits, I am feeling like a fool. I don’t not normally get sucked in to things like that. They completely manipulated the situation and used you get this now or this is never going to be available to you. We were not presented with all choices and were pushed this on us. I have started looking at trading standards and consumer rights, I have also contacted ted citizen advice who told me they have heard of this company before and nothing good. I will be taking it further and plan on getting together few people who were scammed just like us. If you would like to join please let me know. Luckily I also have a friend who is a lawyer so plenty of support from her too.

There were so many people in that studio in london I am sure there are 100s of us who been scammed like this.

Please I am in full support of this move. I am currently paying via direct debit for the £500 package which I was pressured massively to sign. Even after saying I don’t want the contract anymore after leaving the room JUST 5mins ! They insisted on not cancelling it. Please here is my contact [protected] .

I have the same issue with them about 6years ago!Had very bad experience,contacted Citizens advice bureau,etc...

Hi this has just happened to us also happy to fight with you they are a disgrace we ended off paying 1300 as my daughter felt pressurised into buying the photos. We are very upset as photos are not even that good .

My 18 year old daughter and I went to a shoot in Manchester today travelled in a car and 3 trains to get there. Shoot went well until we went into speak to Ben! He never explained anything about the cost of photos being from £50 then to decrease afterwards..he made my daughter feel like she had to choose from what was on the laminate. My mistake was I didn't look at it properly as I was disgusted at the prices on it. She was made feel like she had to choose there and then and was charged £1500 for photos and a USB stick..we are not a well off family and she has just spent all her savings on this. I will be calling them 1st thing in the morning to try and get something back. I'm absolutely furious with he way we were conned into this. He was explaing how much she could make from jobs amd where to look for them but there all hundreds if miles away. We discovered this after we travelled home

I have just paid the deposit and now realised how stupidly my decision was to take my daughter there in two days. They actually never said how to refund my deposit. They called me to ask me to over the phone when I was working. I actually had a concern so I paid over a link from email. But now I can see everything from your experience. They did send a brochure to say if I don’t attend the deposit will be lost and I need to pay up to £135? ! ! for compensation. What a scam!

Hi, did anyone manage to get them to stop all the emails and phone calls? i was also pressured into signing a contact with them, told them the next day I wanted to cancel and they said that I can't. I've now cancelled my DD with them and they are calling me... please help! I have a neurological disorder and the stress is making me poorly!
